This is a big day for potential winnamins. We may just reach the “too much winning” phase.
Democrats are threatening to shut down government by not supporting the Continuing Resolution (CR) measure that passed the House and is about to reach the floor of the Senate. This threat is awesome, and we can only hope it happens.
Personally, I think Chuck Schumer will tell eight of his Senate members to vote cloture on the CR (they need 60 votes) and then tell them to vote against the underlying bill on the floor (where only 51 are needed for passage). However, the looney leftists in the base are stomping their feet and telling Schumer not to support the Trump CR measure.
If the CR is not passed, the govt goes into “shutdown mode” at midnight tonight and all “nonessential” employees, as determined by the Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought, are laid-off.
This is perfect for DOGE and the objectives of shrinking government very quickly. Even Politico notes the Democrats are about to step on a rake.
WASHINGTON DC – […] There’s another reason the White House isn’t sweating a shutdown: Senior officials agree that when coffers run dry, the Trump administration — specifically Vought, the longtime cost-cutting conservative now running OMB — would have unprecedented flexibility to choose which agencies get to stay open and which don’t.
[…] It’s not hard to see Musk getting out his chainsaw and Vought finding a hammer.
“Musk in charge of furloughs in a shutdown? He’d be giddy. He’d be beside himself with joy,” the official joked.
A Democrat-triggered shutdown would be tough for the party for another reason as well: For weeks they’ve been lambasting Trump and Musk for tearing apart the government. Democrats in a shutdown would effectively have to argue that they’re trying to protect the government by shutting down the government.
Good luck making that argument to anyone outside the Democratic base. (read more)
Of course, Majority Leader John Thune could mess this up and give Chuck Schumer something in exchange for votes that we really don’t want, but that’s the problem counting on the UniParty to drive MAGA strategy.
The best-case scenario is that Schumer listens to his base, refuses to give Senate republicans any votes and then we watch the government “shut down.” President Trump, Elon Musk and Russ Vought then decide which agencies and operations are essential while the rest of the government is closed. 😊 Perfect!
The bonus prize is that all the left-wing investments into Lawfare against Trump for reducing the size and scope of government, become moot. In shutdown mode, all the lawsuits are useless. lolol Happy Winnamin Day!

Pass the Cheetos and the Winnamins!!!
Always MAGA!! 👊👊🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
It is hard not to be too giddy watching Democrats self-destruct. Please shut down the government!
Worst case scenario is it passes with all kinds of garbage attached?
Johnson has already adjourned the House. They’re stuck with this CR.
The Dems vote for cloture, or they own the shutdown, lock, stock and barrel.
A shutdown they painted as America’s Armageddon just last year.
Johnson might eventually grow into this job and be a good Speaker.
Keep it up!
He has a good master….
Stepping on their own rake.
Winning indeed.
Indeed. The question now is…
How dim are the dimocrats?
I think that they are so dim that they will do an end zone dance when they shut down the government.
If it happens, Vought can and should leave the National Parks open.
And all veteran venues still open and operating!
I so agree!!
Today the NPS announced a closing restriction on Devils Tower. For the last 50 years the park has been open 24 hours, now it will open 7 to 5.
No reason given!

Thank you for reminding everyone of the Scriptural reference!
Esther is great instruction on handling oneself in political power struggles as are a lot of the Old Testament books.
My Daughter Jess and I would go to the local JCCA for annual Purim parties…the kids would all wear costumes (of any variety]. Having read Jess the Esther story…at age 10 she insisted I make her a historically accurate costume of the type Esther would wear!!
It took 3 days of sewing and trips to fabric stores…but it looked fabulous. She came in 2nd in the costume contest.
The possibility lurks that Dems would remove Chuck the Schmuck as minority leader & elect someone like Amy Kolobuchar in his stead if this blows up in his face. Hey, a girl can dream, can’t she?
So many first round draft choices to chose from…
Thank you, Sundance.
After Smucky shuts down the government, fire everyone classified as non-essential…
So easy even a caveman can do it…
NO MERCY!
Never forget what a gift the “Palestinian” Schumer gave us back in August:
Yes. I’m loving it!!
Brer Trump, “Oh please Brer Schumer, whatever you do, please don’t throw me into the briar patch [of a shutdown].”
Hahah 🥰!
…..”and the Orange Man,…..He say nuffin….”
Orange man bad…..You’re right
Bad to the bone….
I’m on board with the Ds, shut the government down and run it indefinitely on ’emergency’ departments and personnel only.
Do it! Do it! Do it!
Hard to argue about eliminating useless agencies if the gov continues to function in shut down mode with just the essentials operating.
Perhaps this is the plan?? 🙂
If it does shut down, when it ends, do not give back-pay to those that were laid off. No mass paid vacation on our dime.
That’s a very bad idea.
We do not have forced servitude in this country. Many, many people including the US military, are going to be forced to work with no pay check. For who knows how long.
It actually is going to be something of a CF in part, and let’s not make it even worse, by tainting the government’s ability to hire ever again.
Changing the rules of the game to that degree means changing potential employee behaviors in response. If you want to guarantee that the key security agencies are never again able to hire the best and the brightest, because the bitter taste of that no pay move will linger for decades . . . just do that.
Firing is one thing. Downsizing is another.
Forced to work or forced to furlough without pay and then not to be compensated for being the grass under the warring elephants is a whole different thing altogether.
Very bad idea.
Based on recent performance, I have a hard time believing that “the key security agencies” ever hired the “best and brightest.”
Actually, we need a lot more of it!
Most of the useless, obnoxious federal employees might become valuable assets with a few good horse-whippings!
PS….The military WILL continue to be paid, just like Trump did for the military in his first term when the Democrats terrorizing America shut down the government then.
The military will be paid.
Not well thought out there, those that are deemed necessary enough to stay on the job will be paid when the dims game is over. Those that were laid off should not get paid. Let the private sector be the standard for the government sector. It is the private sector that pays the bills.
As I wrote, laid off is laid off.
Fine.
If you furlough, and do not give back pay, then a substantial number of those employees are never coming back to you, ever. Mostly the best ones.
Imagine a private business in a corporate fight between shareholders putting half its factory line on furlough for 6 weeks while they sort it out, including its main skilled team. Then it says, okay, we might ask you to come on back but you will get no compensation for the weeks off when you couldn’t pay your mortgage, while we were busy fighting things out. And, hey, we might do this again in six months too.
How many of your best workers return six weeks later?
What is your ability to hire eight weeks later?
You know why some feds didn’t type back “resign” back in January? Because word was out that when the same thing went down at Twitter, Musk also had made promises of pay through a certain date, and then he stiffed the ones who had agreed to go, for the pay they were promised by Twitter.
In other words, his reputation proceeded him (whether it was real or not, people believed it) – and that changed people’s behavior because the lack of trust was already present.
This is how it goes. Good people don’t become police officers in jurisdictions that don’t have their backs.
Smart companies don’t contract with governments or businesses that are unreliable bill payers.
And smart workers give a company exactly one opportunity to screw them over and leave them flat while they are having to make mortgage and car payents before they move on and tell all their friends and relatives never to take a job there, ever.
Patriotism only goes so far, when the kids are hungry.
Now, if you think you won’t need a federal government at all, if there is no such thing as national security, diplomacy, vital statistics, tax or tariff collection, port inspections, air traffic control, or US Marshalls, or a US military . . . please proceed to piss off every single one of those offices, especially their HR people, all the secretaries, all tge people who order their supplies, and all the contractors who make their software run.
Boeing has had a number of temporary layoffs. Some of the people come back when asked, some have moved on. Those that came back did not get back pay. The super majority of private businesses can not afford those types of cost.
How is Boeing doing?
Feel good, flying a Boeing plane these days?
As for me, I fly Airbus if I can. Safer that way.

Just more money laundering, same theft, different Koolaid flavor.
Baloney! Been thru a few furloughs rolling time off for months without back pays- in mfr entity.— followed by RIFs. It’s business and there needs to be clearing out of dead wood. Economic struggles hit all sectors .government is the big problem- Don’t see what makes “public service sector “ so darn special they get those multiple special favors and forgivenesses that “private” workers do not. The public service unions ought to be busted too! Just too too much BS
Sorry pal, clearly you don’t appreciate the magnitude of the situation. We absolutely do have forced servitude in this land, in a forum you may not acknowledge, ie political class of amoral wannabe elites composed of all races, nationalities and genders. Extracting the fruits of our labor to feed their ideological lust for wealth and power. Lawlessness CRIME out in the open to the point we cannot even trust the police or lawyers, judges, politicians worst of all elections. The medical industry is the biggest slush fund in the history of for ever. Just wait till DOGE jumps into that nightmare. I hope they’ll be wearing bodysuits. Our taxes; my money seemingly goes to everything I abour, and little or nothing to what I need and yet it’s never enough.
You do realize the bum Biden was not even involved with the 1000 or so pardons, can you say AutoPen? It’s a sickness of existential proportions beginning with massive corruption in all facits of culture and the sht canning of a good percentage of sycophants in “government”is preferable to a national economic depression. A layoff is a layoff they can go sign up for unemployment benefits just like the rest of us. This nation has developed a character flaw the size of the Grand canyon.
This is why we pray for our leaders.
Bless you in the name of truth, which is Jesus.
Okay, then.
Just don’t complain when there’s no working AC at the VA come July.
FWIW, I do not disagree with any of your points about the massive theft by the central bankers and their minions.
But, if you are going to turn out the lights at the VA hospital by making dumb decisions to demoralize all your employees, that’s just a super level of stupid.
Alex, the people who worked through the shutdown get paid, everyone laid off during the shutdown do not get paid.
I totally agree DO NOT GIVE BACK PAY TO THOSE CIVILIANS WHO DID NOT WORK. There has never been a federal employee penalty for government shut-downs. Make it hurt badly and the Democrats will have a hard time getting support for shut-downs.
The military, of course, must be paid as they have a sworn duty to remain on their stations no matter what.
Step on a rake, step on a rake.
All the way home…
Self Implosion smells good in the morning..
Don’t get too cocky. Republicans are good at snacking defeat from the jaw of victory. Heed SD’s note regarding Thune.
I’d like to see laid off government workers have to go on unemployment like the rest of the country does when there is a layoff. No back pay and free vacations…
They are.
Going on unemployment.
The fired ones.
Furloughed employees are not entitled to unemployment. They are just out of funds in the meantime. The janitor, the HVAC guy, the secretary who is a single mom . . . their rent isn’t going to get paid. Their cars will get repossessed. Their kids will not be signing up for summer camp.
Do not delight in the suffering of just average folks who are your fellow American citizens.
Let not your hearts wax cold.
They’re not entitled to pay for hours they didn’t work either. They can use vacation or accrued sick time, but beyond that, too damn bad.
They are “average folks.” They’re government employees who have been in what are essentially make-work jobs for decades. I have exactly zero empathy for any one of them. Kids don’t go to summer camp, car gets repossessed, lose your house? Gosh, too bad. Should have had some savings.
I suppose you’re going to whine when their jobs are eliminated? Because the federal government is overstaffed by at least 50%.
Hahaha! Guess they should have planned better all those years sucking up MY taxes for wages while doing NOTHING!
Too stupid to even realize their gravy train can’t run forever!
F ’em and feed ’em fish heads!
And every one will become a hardened anti maga evangelist.
There isn’t any push back from temporarily laid off workers. That’s part of the problem with the deep state system…
There is one vein where these people are not your fellow average American: they have had secure / guarrantees of income.
The rest of America is working 1+ jobs and scrambling in difficult ways to keep themselves off the street.
Should any of your aforementioned difficulties arrive at their front door, they would then become fellow Americans.
They would then need to and take the necessary steps to keep themselves off the street.
It’s not that people’s hearts are waxing cold, its that people’s hearts are crying for justice.
Justice is when McCaul, Clapper, Ohr, Brennan, Strzock, Soros, Abedin, Weissman, Schumer, Pelosi, Schiff, Cheney, Petraeus, McRaven, Wasserman, Clinton, Yellen, Podesta, Obama, Cooper, and Baier, and many, many others, all hang for treason, IMHO.
Your bleeding heart is so noted.
Or it might be my experience in the business world, decades as a small business person.
Clutching pearls too tightly. Relax
I hope Thune has heard from PDJT that the prefered route is the Schumer Shutdown.
I pray it comes to pass.
I think the most likely is Schumer tells 8 Sin-ators, especially if they have already announced their retirement, to fall on their swords and vote for the CR.
Praying here for the Best Outcome, and for safety of PDJT, and his team, even the weak ones.

Answer – All of the above parties.
As encouraging as this scenario seems, NEVER underestimate the ability and willingness of RINOS to phuq things up and pull the carpet out from under us.
All eyes on Thune.
Thune will be done if he doesn’t do what Trump wants.
Especially if he wants to run for POTUS someday.
No doubt “These People are “Stupid” (Demoncraps)!”. Really sinks in doesn’t it? Got ’em coming & going.
This situation supports my theory that everything we have seen was gamed out and laid out in order of progression sometime in the last few years.
Yes. But more like a decade ago.
Terminus reached.
Shut down.
Almost there
Re Musk: I seem to remember the cartoon character Popeye the Sailor pronouncing his muscles as MUSKles. Can anyone back me up? In any case, GO ELON!
Great post!
Yes, we remember MUSKles!
Tanks!
Me, too. But Melania sure ain’t no Olive Oyl!
One of the great things about Popeye the Sailor in the cartoons was he was always mumbling to himself. Love me some Popeye !
I yam what’s I yam!
That was probably his most memorable quote.
What is the difference in quality of life when the government shuts down vs. when it’s running “whiskey throttle” wide open?
Very little improves when conditions are optimal. What is it that they actually do there?
If they do a shut down, do NOT give gov workers back pay on reopening.
Let the lunatic workers feel the pain from lunatic leaders.
My 20 year military veteran family member who works maintenance, faithfully shows up for night shifts, and never even votes in any election in any event, and who is not a lunatic, does not deseve your fury.
If he has to work, and then isn’t going to get paid for that work . . . I’m convincing him to retire and quit the next day. F the 2 weeks notice too. He can get hired elsewhere, easily. Too bad the buildings won’t work as well come May.
And good luck replacing him. Not gonna happen. The skill set just isn’t that readily found.
Don’t be stupid.
I know President Trump, as a businessman, is likely not that stupid.
Go after the GO NGOs, go after the congressional staff, go after the Brookings and the Cato people. Go after Sam Power and Vicky Nuland and K Street.
Hitting the people who actually do something real in return for their taxpayer salary, like Air Traffic Controllers and Space Force Guardians . . . ain’t it.
Respectfully, I don’t think that’s the type of government worker that Doug was talking about. Any of the bureaucrats who get furlowed don’t have to work, but get back pay as if they did when the shutdown ends. Your family member should be angry about that too.
I’m pretty sure Doug was suggesting exactly that.
As for the furloughed and no back pay issue . . . well, that is not a reliable employer. Logical conclusion: Do not seek a job with this company in the future. They will neither fire you so you can move on and file for unemployment, nor pay you for the time you spent waiting around for them to get their act together. Time to move on, and let friends and family know it is a crap organization.
Perhaps you don’t understand that many gov employees have sought such positions BECAUSE they almost cannot get fired and the government always pays. It is the most secure job in America.
This DOES NOT ATTRACT the best employees.
I recognize your personal involvement and its not that we do not have compassion, but every employee who is part of a union faces this very situation. If my union goes out on strike, it is unlikely that I will receive any wages. I will have to wait to file unemployment….
Wise people are prepared for this scenario with 3 mo savings, no matter who employes you.
No add to that that most people have utilized all their savings trying to stay afloat……
The main point of the whole shutdown is to see who is nonessential and to allow DOGE to go through all of their departments and do a thorough investigation. There will be no one there to stop DOGE. The buildings in which they work may be cleaned out and put up for sale or the leases cancelled.
The Trump Team may decide that many of these people return to a folding table, a chair, and no internet in a warehouse but they get to keep getting paid until their jobs/departments can be eliminated.
Just like they did to private sector working Americans with a slow death of their jobs and industries, Team MAGA-DOGE may have to do the same over a period of a year. That will give federal government workers time to get their resumes in order, sell their homes, and gradually drain the DC swamp area.
The local restaurants, grocery stores, and all other businesses do not need to be punished. Let the nonessential former workers ease out of the area and others move in but not all at once. That is very destabilizing for a lot of innocent business owners.
^^^^
A very sensible post.
Certain people in certain agencies have been planning trips around this shutdown for weeks. They get paid to fish.
“Democrats in a shutdown would effectively have to argue that they’re trying to protect the government by shutting down the government.”
Same as the election. They “protected” democracy by prohibiting democracy.
Well, if they are non essential what is the point of them coming back. Give them the papers. This is a good opportunity for the DOGE boys to get going.
First item scroll down to video of Jon Herold talking about DOGE in charge of what bills get paid, because Debryk is gone
https://badlands.substack.com/p/badlands-news-brief-541
Mike Johnson has done his part by adjourning the House. With everybody heading home, it’s pass the House bill or shut it down until the House reconvenes on Monday, March 24th..
Also praying for a shutdown. Life will go on without visible interruption– a useful reminder to our citizenry that there is very little government that we actually need, and far more than we can afford.
Go ahead Chuckie! Make my day!
The Communists are so stuck in a corner. If they pass the CR, then PDJT gets what he needs. If the Communists shut down the Gov. PDJT gets what he needs to destroy the Gov. and the blame goes right to the Communists. That is WINNING BIGLY.
i agree wholeheartedly, with one tweak –
PT isn’t DESTROYING government, he’s RESTORING it to what it should be!
and a Happy Schumer Shutdown Day to you, FJZ.😁
I love the smell of flop sweat in the morning…
Dear Senator Schumer – please, shutdown the Federal Government – PLEASE.
Let’s see – Democrats shutdown the government and own the political fallout. Most government employees are locked out of their offices & computers while Trump & Musk run the DOGE bulldozer through department after department. What’s not to love about this scenario!
Only way it could be better is if the Senate vote was on April 1st! Winning Indeed!
From past experience … it is a known fact that the government does not “shut down” but continues to operate under, essentially at the “financial levels” allowed per TAX Receipts (yep Mr. Tax man never stops collecting) … with the President deciding what to fund based on actual tax receipts … Sounds like a balanced budget being enacted.
In a related article … there are actually a few democrat members of Congress who see a shut down as very bad for the democrats … and they get that the disaster is NOT Public Image (as the media is spinning 24/7 to cover the democrats) …. but that President Trump gets to use DOGE to decide what to defund as the Government continues to operate directly under president Trump’s orders.
Go democrats … Go neverTrumpers … shut down … shut down … rah rah rah.
Fetterman is a yes.
Sen. John Fetterman Reveals How He Will Vote on Critical CR Bill | WLT Report
Just as a reminder … 60 Votes are needed in the Senate ONLY due to SENATE RULES, which could easily be changed if Mr. Thune and Mr. McConnell wanted to actually Govern.
This works to the President advantage at this point … because it gives the President DIRECT control over spending, if a shut down occurs.
But it hurts badly when it comes to draining the swamp because of the massive time delays on approving the other 200+ appointees needed to assist the primary staff already approved.
It takes 60 to change the Senate rules
Doubt.
NO it does not.
It is approved my majority vote. All it takes is for the republicans to decide they actually “want to govern”.
GOPe won’t eliminate the cloture rules. It’s a big part of their business model.
When GOPe is in the minority, they get to sell votes to the Democrats in order to get to 60.
The quid pro quo is that when GOPe is in the majority, they sit on their hands because they don’t have 60 votes.
End result is that the Uniparty agenda is never rolled back.
Cloture rules are foundational to Uniparty Kabuki theater.
Like I stated … all it takes is for the republicans to decide that they want to govern.
Cloture rules have been suspended many times in the past by Harry Reid (democrat), Schumer (democrat) and McConnell (uni-party) when it suited their needed.
Those appointees aren’t going to be approved over the scheduled Easter recess by any means, anyway.
So surrender any way and allow the delay to continue and allow the republicans to get off, without comment, for their cowardliness in not wanting to govern..
The was a great comment made after the 2017 elections, by a “conservative” commentator.
“The republicans do not want to govern and do not know how to govern. They will give away the opportunity they just won.”
They need to have this thrown in their faces every time they refuse to govern.
No – that’s not what I said. I figure this would be a smart time for President Trump to begin exercising the recess appointments he needs.
If the Republicans really don’t want to govern – go around them.
What is Thune going to do? Come out full Mitchy and say no to President Trump’s recess appointments?
Ol’ Schumer and the Democrats think that by shutting down the government, they can demonstrate just how relevant the government is to our lives.
How’s he going to do that?
Has he told the various agencies to continue running without money – to disobey President Trump’s team when they decide which agencies and personnel are essential, and which are not?
Are the courts going to come in, to rule for President Trump which parts of the government must be shut down, and which cannot?
As we have never missed the government in each and every shutdown in times past – when Democrats ran that fecal-matter show unimpeded – what makes them think we are going to be stressed over it when we have a President actively trying to reduce government to its essential functions?
Sigh. Those running on emotions can never think from cause to effect.
John Wayne said it best. “Life is hard. Life is harder when you’re Democrat…”
While scrolling the site my screen suddenly had popups saying I was flagging comments, like 3 in a row.
So sorry to whoever I flagged it was not intentional.
When the workers are laid off, they still get back pay when it’s over.
That’s ONLY if they have a job to come back to.
I can see President Trump granting back pay to those furloughed…up to the point where the jobs were cut as non-essential and unnecessary as revealed by the shutdown.
As I wrote elsewhere, Schumer should be the first thing to be shut down!
Along with The Deep State, i.e. DEMS and RINOS, of course!
Considering all the controversy about the cuts to the FedGov, one should ask:
“If most of (all?) of the FedGov bureaucrats disappeared overnight, would you notice anything negative in your life as a result?”
“Or would you notice perhaps more wealth in your bank accounts and more general prosperity around you?“
President Trump needs to make a statement to the effect that, “If Democrats shut down the government, the Administration will determine which employees are ‘non-essential’ and they will be sent home. During the shutdown the Administration will evaluate the necessity of bringing back any employee, and any employee who is brought back will NOT receive back-pay for the time of the shutdown.”
It needs to really hurt.
No back pay for Congress Critters AND their Staff. That puts pressure on Congress, which is where it belongs.
Well, that would do it for another one of mine.
Instant quit if determined to be furloughed instead of categorized as working as employed without pay.
Not gonna play wait around to find out if will end up being paid or not.
Someone they probably don’t / wouldn’t actually want to lose.
Baby, bathwater. Bye.
And the military family and connections would have that resulting shared feelings of bitterness and resentment linger as they continue to do their own jobs, from which they can’t legally quit.
Family is family.
A demoralized remaining pared down workforce that you actually do need? – hip, hip, hooray.
You are revealing yourself.
As a thinking rather than emoting person?
Announcing that before the vote gives the Democrats an out so they can vote yes.
“We kept the government open because Orange Man mean.”
Let the Democrats sweat out the vote, then drop the hammer as needed.
Maybe we can become Canada’s 11th province.
The CR is really a win for the Uniparty, so only bitterness would keep Shumer from supporting it.
They’re waiting out Trump.
Much as I despise the use of the funding mechanisms used for the past 20 years, other than regular order passed spending BILLS … the CR actually is to President Trump’s advantage … for this cycle … it freezes everything in place … from the last spending AUTHORIZED and SIGNED Spending BILL. Which means NO new programs and DOGE continues to roll vs the existing targets … while the President’s Lawyers battle lawfare efforts to stop his efforts vs existing targets.
No changes to the existing battlefield benefits the President, just as it is a bigger advantage to the President to have a shut down. Granted .. the shut would be a bigger a victory but either way it is to the President ‘s benefit.
A CR keeps current spending plus the % increase. DOGE is just an audit, and has to be enacted in a bill, and isn’t in this CR.
This is about nothing. Trump wasn’t ready to fight here, so he didn’t.
But he’s losing a year of his 4, and the Uniparty is a year closer to his departure. McConnell has won this one.
You missed the part where DOGE was built upon AN ALREADY EXISTING OBAMA Program. So, DOGE is COVERED by EXISTING LEGISLATION.
Thus, DOGE Remains.
There is no % Increase unless it was hardwired into the legislation.
I’m sorry, but “We’ll have to pass the bill to see what’s in it” is still in effect. Let’s see what’s in it before celebrating. You may be right, but we’ve been here before.
A CR comes with an automatic % increase. That was the entire point of that mechanism. To continue… +++ an adder.
NO a CR does not come with automatic increase. The only automatic increase is if an increase is hardwired into the Spending Bills being continued.
A CR, by law, Freezes funding authorizations per EXISTING legislation.
I think you’re mistaken. The whole purpose of the CR idea was to keep all the existing lard plus the % increase.
Now, if you think they’ve removed that increase, and deducted DOGE stuff, then it’s not their classic CR scam. I’ll believe that when I see it.
The Uniparty is running this.
Thedoc00 is correct.
Ha Ha! It would not bother me in the least if it shutdown! More winnamins please. Every weekend and holiday the government shuts down. What is the difference, except our President gets to choose which agency stays open and which stay closed. Loving it.
More theatrics…
Another Continuing Resolution…Really ?
The Constitution says what it means and means what it says…
There is no Constitutional authority for such an egregious act of theft of Public Monies under the guise of raising Revenue.
POTUS/DOGE has line item authority anyways…
In God We Trust
Trust God
Fear not
No make-up paychecks when they return to work either!!!!
If we do in fact have a shutdown, let’s do it a bit differently this time–no back pay.
If a Democrat shutdown comes to pass, and “non-essential” departments and programs are shuttered, it will be the most delicious meal I will have had since the election!
But eventually they’ll need to pass something, and that’s the part that concerns me. What will that look like, and how badly will republicans compromise?
Good points:
No CR = Shut Down (Big Victory for the President)
A CR = NO Compromises (Minor Victory for the President, the battlefield remains known and constant and enough of the republican congress actually worked together for once)
Anything else = a sell out by republicans and should get a VETO. (Massive battle looming)
Sundance, I came to the Treehouse this morning to ask a question about this very topic.
I literally laughed with delight while reading your thoughts on it.
Too much winning? Nah! Keep it coming!!!!
I think this is a day early….shutdown day is Friday, March 14th….they have until 11:59:59 on March 14th.
^^^^
Chuck Schumer looks like in the picture he just said, Oh goodie goodie.
democrats are a cult
The hard-core left has always been like that. In the ’60’s the protesters would all have the same signs. Usually only 2-3 slogans.
Common and effective propaganda/marketing technique. All signal, no noise.
Republicans can’t seem to figure that one out.
The left can’t meme – figure that one out …
I remember “hey hey LBJ ….” Now they’re all noise and no signal.
A Death Cult..
NO Extensions!
