Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz brief the media on an agreement with the Ukraine delegation for a ceasefire in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
During their remarks both Secretary Rubio and Advisor Waltz reference a joint statement [SEE HERE] by both delegations. The statement outlines the proposed terms for a 30-day ceasefire that will now be discussed by President Trump’s team with the Russian delegation and President Vladimir Putin.

United States and Ukraine are calling for a 30-day ceasefire, subject to the acceptance of Russia. Secretary Marco Rubio also announced that the US would resume intelligence sharing with Ukraine “immediately.”
[BEGIN STATEMENT] – “Today in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia — under the gracious hospitality of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman — the United States and Ukraine took important steps toward restoring durable peace for Ukraine.
Representatives of both nations praised the bravery of the Ukrainian people in defense of their nation and agreed that now is the time to begin a process toward lasting peace.
The Ukrainian delegation reiterated the Ukrainian people’s strong gratitude to President Trump, the U.S. Congress, and the people of the United States for making possible meaningful progress toward peace.
Ukraine expressed readiness to accept the U.S. proposal to enact an immediate, interim 30-day ceasefire, which can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, and which is subject to acceptance and concurrent implementation by the Russian Federation. The United States will communicate to Russia that Russian reciprocity is the key to achieving peace.
The United States will immediately lift the pause on intelligence sharing and resume security assistance to Ukraine.
The delegations also discussed the importance of humanitarian relief efforts as part of the peace process, particularly during the abovementioned ceasefire, including the exchange of prisoners of war, the release of civilian detainees, and the return of forcibly transferred Ukrainian children.
Both delegations agreed to name their negotiating teams and immediately begin negotiations toward an enduring peace that provides for Ukraine’s long-term security. The United States committed to discussing these specific proposals with representatives from Russia. The Ukrainian delegation reiterated that European partners shall be involved in the peace process.
Lastly, both countries’ presidents agreed to conclude as soon as possible a comprehensive agreement for developing Ukraine’s critical mineral resources to expand Ukraine’s economy and guarantee Ukraine’s long-term prosperity and security. [END STATEMENT]
The joint statement itself is diplomatically agreed, but as these things are reviewed, they do give some insight into the priorities of both sides.
We can see how “lifting the pause on intelligence sharing and resuming security assistance” to Ukraine was the priority of the Ukranian delegation. We can see how a substantive commitment to peace was the priority of team USA.
The U.S, specifically anticipating Steve Witkoff likely traveling to Moscow, will take the message to Russian President Vladimir Putin and his representatives. The Ukranian team will engage with their “European partners” for further advice and counsel.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is the key. As remarkable as it seems, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz has the stronger neocon tendencies in this pairing. Secretary Rubio is suspicious of motives and intentions, which is good.

What do we think Ukraine will do now they are getting “Intelligence” from the US again? This is essentially targeting data for striking the Russians, something of a conumdrum there, why would Ukraine require targeting data if it wants peace? Do we think the AF of Russia do not see this? Think less about strike and targeting capacity and more about the role the resumption intelligence sharing plays with monitor Russian movement of personnel and materials positioning. As the President is saying, peace is the goal. Not a one over advantage to plan the next aggression on current front lines.
The resumption of intell sharing is a big part of monitor the front lines and far more important than giving a tactical advantage. Think of it this way, if intell sharing was shutdown. That implies intell sharing was active at some point in the past. So, the intell sharing value was not really about giving Ukraine some overwhelming tactical advantage its value was more logistical and strategic.
But we do not need to resume sending Ukraine military defense weapons. That should stay tabled. The problem is that we said one thing, adamantly, to Ukraine about our stance then we say ok, resume intelligence and lift the pause of sending defense weapons. And every friggin time the talks begin Ukraine sends drone attacks. I don’t believe Ukraine at all. President Trump needs to keep to his word and not be cajoled by Ukraine’s plight and the antagonistic pushes by the EU. I’m sorry. WWI and WWII not enough for them? The Ukes have to share the news with the EU, while the US gets to relay the terms acceptable to BOTH Russia and the US. A cease fire certainly can allow elections and those could be territorial in order to settle the civil war. The final mineral deal will probably be a three way with the US having deals in both territories.

Here’s the way I see it. Trump has spoken to Russia and Russia has agreed in principle with a cease fire already. The peace agreement many ALREADY be worked out. It’s clear what Russia wants from it for the most part.
Trump needed to get Ukraine (and Europe and IC) on board. Trump got tired of the lies from Ukraine and that they were going to sign the deal. So what did 47 do? He pulled all support—intelligence and otherwise, to force Ukraine to the table.
Now that Ukraine agrees, US provides the support back, showing them we are backing them. Russia sees we are backing them and will agree with the ceasefire.
47 sees what Russia wants, mostly no NATO for Ukraine, which is reasonable. Russia gets that and keeps most of the land while giving back some, especially some of the just occupied land—that’s why Russia put that push on to conquer more land—so it has something to negotiate back.
Ukraine doesn’t have much of a say in it. They either accept what 47 negotiates or not. If they do, they’ll have peace. If they don’t, that gives 47 the cover to pull out and say, you don’t want peace, you want war. You can continue the war, but the US is out. You’ll have to fight it with Europe.
What Russia DOESN’T want is an outright enemy in the US. Putin doesn’t want sanctions against him that will actually WORK. He doesn’t want US to sanction Europe from buying his energy like they are now.
There will be peace.

This is an incredibly unserious attempt made by the delegation to get a ceasefire. In Korea and Vietnam (and elsewhere), the US eventually steered negotiations to a final agreement, despite a recalcitrant “ally”. The precedent is there, and I expect Trump is following it, and not waiting ’til thousands of US boys are dead before following it.

Vice-Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev dismissed the recent U.S.-Ukraine talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, stating that any real agreements will be dictated by Russia on the battlefield—not by Washington.
“Ukraine bows and fawns, agreeing to whatever the U.S. tells them, but in the end, any agreements will be implemented on Russia’s terms,” Kosachev emphasized.
He added that Moscow—not Washington—sets the conditions for peace, and the U.S. should come to terms with this reality.

After Zelenskyy’s fiasco at the White House, Marco commented on the complexities of high stakes international diplomacy.
It sounds like you only get a 30 day ceasefire (“no way”, says Russia) if you offer something valuable in return.
I believe Trump’s sincere desire for peace (actually earning a Nobel Peace Prize- not like Obama); and considering what Trump is up against (NATO dysfunction, Nuland’s legacy, Globalist Agenda, neocons, Putin (former KGB), etc., etc.), he’ll need a ton of prayers and some Divine intervention.
He’s the only person I know who has the fortitude to stick it out. Peace at this time requires a ton of fortitude.
He could just walk away, call it Biden’s war, remove support. The war and killing would go on and likely expand; and then some fool takes action after saying “we’re gonna expand the nuclear umbrella” and then what?
God help us all – NOW!
Resuming arms and intelligence sharing is counterproductive.
Russia will not view that stance favorably.
This is not going to be accepted by Russia. They’ve been lied to too many times by the West. The war will grind on and Ukraine will lose more teritory and human capital. PDJT still doesn’t get it about Russia/Ukraine. It’s not all about Ukraine.
This meeting, in my opinion, was garbage. The Trump administration should have told the Ukrainians to buzz off. Instead, they completely caved to Zelensky. It basically drags the U.S. back toward the stance under FJB.
Trump is making a huge mistake by adopting project Ukraine.
Our permanent government took over Ukraine, literally handpicking Zelenskyy and every post in that regime.
We then created the largest military in Europe and unleashed it to create a battering ram, that along with sanctions to destroy the economy, was going to topple Russia into exploitable regions for our corporations to rape and loot.
Our military and CIA has been in country since 2008, and used to operate air defense and missile and drone strikes into Russia. NATO commands the Ukraine Army, and is shown to be incompetent. The war is lost.
Trump needs to cut all aid, pull our troops out, and show Russia we want peace and respect Russian sovereignty.
This mess is using Trumps’ time and focus away from all needing done at home.
We can work with Russians who are cogent on economic projects. Europe is too far gone into a failed authoritarian mess, destroying their own economies and societies.
If Trump keeps messing around in this swamp he will be blamed for the failure.

The biggest winners are the puppeteers of the soulless mannequin called “Biden”, Blinkin, Sullivan, Nuland ect.
Trump has taken on the responsibility of the Ukraine money laundering project to “solve” it peacefully.
But this proposed agreement of a ceasefire, no fly zone enforced by our country and introducing a handful of foreign soldiers while continuing to support Ukraine with money, arms, ISR data is a non starter with the Russians who hold all the cards, and moral high ground on this specific issue.
When it is rebuffed, if Trump allows the neo cons around him to intensify our involvement, another opportunity for a real security of Europe treaty will be gone.
We made a Frankinstein out of NATO and its’Ukraine proxy that needs to be disassembled.
It seems to me that “intelligence sharing” ie, targeting information, is contrary to a ceasefire. I somewhat doubt Russia will accept this.
Also, a “security guarantee” is absolutely out of the question. We can not be entangled with their problems.
