Is there evidence showing that planes are actually being serviced badly? That incident occurred in 2018 BTW.
Also the above video does not show the actaul landing… it’s not even the same airplane. She actually ended up off the runway in the grass and hit a light. But still definitely did a great job.

I would make the case that closer relations with China have been a net negative. It’s been just wonderful losing all of our industry to slave labor. But don’t worry, we will have high paying clean energy jobs to support our middle class (/sarc). You have globalists preaching about how globalization has “lifted the world out of poverty.” My response would be…At whose expense? The United States?

The gist of their argument is that Musk has been given enormous power and therefore requires Senate confirmation.
What kind of president would give massive authority to an adviser who hasn’t been confirmed by the Senate? Only every Democratic president who’s ever lived.
The difference is that their advisers are unconfirmed because they’re progressive lunatics who couldn’t be confirmed in a million years. The other difference is the Democrats’ unconfirmed advisers proceed to do things the American people don’t want and didn’t ask for — as opposed to Musk, who is doing something the voters definitely do want and did ask for.

Western elites entrenched in both international and national bureaucracies have been accorded the power to… deprive populations of their liberty and impose massive financial costs on them to boot. These ‘deep state’ bureaucracies have intertwined themselves simultaneously with each other and with big business, producing a complicated, organic patchwork of links seemingly impossible to untangle, akin to the storied Gordian Knot.
Consider for example the supply of uniforms to the US Department of Homeland Security, or the supply of flatware and dinnerware to the US Department of Defense which purchases, among other weapons of war, 500,000 pieces of cutlery annually. These are governed by the Kissell Amendment of 2009, the Berry Amendment of 1941, the Buy American Act of 1933, various WTO free trade treaties that the US has signed onto over the years, and the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) of 2020. They have collectively resulted in full or near monopolies to domestic producers for some products, such as VF Imagewear for uniforms and Sherrill Manufacturing for flatware. Politicians are spoon-fed, but only with the most torturously vetted spoons.
The deep problem is that the sheer size and complexity of vast systems such as education, health, and defence make it impossible for any single person or work team to understand them in their totality. That insight is now known as the problem of embodied knowledge: just as a body can provide its own immune defence services without the mind knowing how it’s done, bureaucracies can produce valuable services (e.g., in education, defence, and public health) without any one person or team knowing how it’s done.
Rather, each of hundreds of specialists understands a tiny part of the full picture, with the details of that picture changing constantly with the incomings and outgoings of personnel and technology.
Because no one understands these systems, insiders are able to concoct emergencies and other excuses to expand them until populations are fed up with them, an insight emphasised by William Niskanen. We are now at the point that Niskanen, writing in the 1970s, predicted would arrive: bureaucracies have become so bloated that they are no longer a net benefit to their society.
Also, when no one truly understands a system in its totality, it is hard to know where the biggest problems are. How to deduce which bits are rotten and who is corrupt, when everything is so entangled? So many strings are being pulled that identifying the puppet masters, or whether they exist at all, is virtually impossible.
Corruption in a very complex system arises in a way known to economists as ‘market discovery:’ over time, those who stand to benefit most from the corruption of particular parts of these mammoth systems are those who have found ways to corrupt them. By trial and error, top civil servants and cashed-up outsiders have identified the buttons that need to be pressed to get mutually beneficial results, and have organised themselves to control those buttons and obscure them from others. Many corruption buttons will not be widely known to exist. After all, the better hidden the corruption, the longer the relevant players can hope to enjoy the benefits of that corruption.

DId not see this reported, so thought I would.
My wife came in a few days ago and asked me why there was a mysterious Social Security deposit to our account of over $7,000…out of the blue…no explanation. Had to be a mistake, so we waited to see if an explanation was forthcoming. So far, there has not been, but……it’s coming as I understand it.
Here in Texas, teachers have their own State retirement system. My wife, a retired teacher, started in the private sector and was compelled to pay into the Social Security and later became a teacher so had to pay into the State system.
Social Security, in the past has penalized teachers who in the past had worked in the private sector and contributed to SS by reducing their earned benefits.
It turns out that this check is legit!!!!!!!!!
Evidently, as we found out from other Texas retired teachers that had contributed to Social Security before becoming teachers, they also had received back checks. WOW!!!
The bill passed in the Senate around midnight on December 21st, 2024. It was the last vote of the 118th Congress. Happened right after the vote on the last CR.

additional comment – after listening to the Russian ambassador interview with Mario Nawfal, Judge Napolitano and the other gentleman, I see that interview of the Russian speaking out loud, putting on the proverbial table, Russia’s opening terms, Russia’s position for when Sec. Rubio, and the other US representatives arrive in Moscow to begin that end of the go-between negotiations between Ukraine and Russia;
this is a great thing, letting the incoming group know where Russia’s approach will be as this will allow them to work on building the points of agreement when they present Ukraine’s opening terms.

Something I noticed way back when President Trump was choosing the head of the USDA, he could have given that position to Thomas Massie and gotten him out of his hair in Congress, and also it would have been great for America’s farmers. A win-win.
I didn’t really expect him to, because of the level of personal animosity.
Still, we saw him elevate someone like Marco Rubio, who actually ran for president against him, and whose background is in being one of those who worked against the president’s agenda.
We have seen that before, he chooses people who almost hate him, and tries to win them over, and guess what? It doesn’t work.
So what was the problem with Massie for USDA? If picking Massie was just too, too painful, he could have chosen virtually anybody but that dud he did pick.
We wouldn’t be seeing many of the problems we are seeing now.
If President Trump *really* wanted Massie out of Congress, he should’ve listened to farmers and put him in charge of the USDA. Trying to get him to compromise on principle and increase spending? That will never work—lesser men have tried and failed (he literally wears a debt clock on his jacket). The White House missed the mark on this one.
I guess my question regarding Massie is if he is popular in HIS district and representing the wishes of the voters who sent him to Congress? That, after all, is SUPPOSED to be the job of anyone elected to the House of Representatives! They are NOT supposed to represent the interests of the Chamber of Commerce, AIPAC, the WHO, the WEF, or any other national/international entity, but most of them don’t seem to understand that concept, which may be why Massie seems like such an outlier!
However, if the interests of the people in HIS district are best served by the policies espoused by the current Administration, then he needs to get over himself and his personal animosity towards the President for not being pure enough for his taste (just like Rand Paul in the Senate) and vote accordingly!
Massie is a useless hack that never sticks to his “principles” when it matters. He votes for all manner of RINO crap when his vote is needed – he just likes to larp being a libertarian like Ron Paul.
Massie is not the enemy, I don’t think. He strikes me as a “just how many more times are you going to let them screw us?” Republican.
If the CR passes on Friday, expect hiring freezes to be lifted government wide because all the Biden 2025 budget will have been passed.

Massie wants the Turtle’s job
Massie wrote the PRIME Act a few years ago. It is an excellent and important piece of legislation for people who raise cattle for beef. It frees farmers from the big beef packers.
Masssie had worked out a deal with Kevin McCarthy so that his bill could be brought to the floor for a vote. Since the gavel passed to Mike Johnson, Massie has not been able to get his bill brought up.
While Mike Johnson sits on Massie’s bill, Massie refuses to vote for Johnson’s bills.
Massie has not railed against Trump as a reason for opposing legislation. There is no good reason for Trump to get into a battle with one of the best men in Congress. Massie is under Article I, Trump is under Article II. Let them stay in their own lanes. Trump should ignore Massie. There is enough important work to do.

I read a “graduate” young woman has a high school diploma she cannot read. She is suing because she cannot read or write. She is illiterate, walking around with a high school diploma.

I am going to give my view of where we are going and you can take it for what you think it is worth.
For many years Europe (WEF, a place that is running out of resources and China, a place that is basically unsustainable) have been trying to establish a new world order where they destroy the US and Russia to take control so they can take their resources to make themselves wealthy. In their 15-minute cities we will have nothing and be happy while they live the high life.
President Trump is establishing his own new world order. The US, Canada and Greenland will be united in some form of an economic and mutual defense unit. This unit will make defense and trade agreements with Russia.
China will be pushed off of the American Continents and we will no longer be tied to Europe.
This new world order will make America and Russia an economic and military powerhouse like has never been seen and will last into the foreseeable future. The people will be free, independent and prosperous.

As I pay through the nose for eggs due to an on its surface appearance obscene strategy against alleged avian flu, I have been thinking about germs, biowarfare, and public health.

I am reading Dissolving Illusions, which makes a case this exact move to a less, almost non-lethal strain, happened naturally with the dominant smallpox strain between the late 1880’s and early 1900’s.
