Project 2025 Leader Rates Trump Before Primetime Address to Congress (10:15)

“What you’re seeing here is the first presidency in a long time reclaim the authority as it’s articulated in the Constitution and in precedent from the judicial and legislative branches and because this is the first time in a long time that’s happened even for people who voted for Trump and like Trump it might seem a little weird that means maybe he’s doing something wrong. He’s just doing something that’s right that hasn’t been done in a long time.”
“reclaim the authority as it’s articulated in the Constitution and in precedent from the judicial and legislative branches”
SCOTUS just ruled against the President!

UNDERSTANDING CANADA & U.S. TRADE
In 2022.
The total value of U.S. imports to Canada was $356.5 billion.
The total value of Canada imports to the U.S. was $436.6 billion.
Similar to Europe’s VAT, Canada has a Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) which is rebated to their exports, but charged to their imports. In other words, their exports to the U.S. are tax free, while our imports are taxed at about 10%. HST = Federal (5%) + Province tax. Let’s say HST is about 10%.
Canada charged the U.S. about $35.6 billion in HST or 10%.
The United States only charged about $34.9 billion on Canada’s imports, but that $34.9 billion was paid by the U.S. consumer at point of sale as a sales tax. See how that works? The U.S. consumer pays the Canadian sales tax on their imports, and the U.S. manufacturer pays the Canadian sales tax up front, going into their country. We pay their sales tax coming and going.
Canada charged the U.S. about $1 billion in other duties and tariffs on our 2022 imports.
The United States charged Canada about $2.9 billion in other duties and tariffs on their 2022 imports.
Totals:
Canada charged the United States $36.5 billion on our $356.5 billion of imports, or about 10.2%.
The United States charged Canada $2.9 billion on their $436.6 billion of imports, or about 0.7%
So, the Canadians have a 9.5% advantage under our current system.
Solution:
We should apply the same system to Canada that they apply to us. They pay a sales tax equal to their average HST coming into our country. If they charge us 10% to come in, then we do the same – charge them 10% to come in. Sound fair?
Disclaimer:
Please check my math. I got this wrong the first time. I did not go into great depth on the assuming a 10% HST. For that one would have to look at every imported good to each province. I think 10% is a conservative number. The calculation becomes more complex considering items are not produced in any one country.
To put all the numbers in perspective, Canada’s imports to the U.S. account for around 67% of Canada’s economy. By comparison, the U.S.’s imports to Canada account for only 4% of the U.S. economy.
That’s 67% of Canada’s economy compared to only 4% of the U.S.’s economy.
I may be slightly off on the exact numbers. I’m quoting from memory a recent VDH interview on the subject.
With these rough numbers in mind, ask yourself who needs who? Who is more dependent on who? Trade war? Good luck!
Do you really wat to go there Sparklesocks? I don’t think so.
If you add even 10% to these figures you get 74% of Canada vs. …still 4% of USA USA USA! I could be wrong, I’ve had a few.
Buddy, it would help if you could distinguish these two terms, imports vs exports, and use them appropriately.
Thou art correct.
I think Lutnick mentioned this VAT type tax layering Canada does in a recent interview.
I really doubt Canadians or Americans understand just how much America is taken advantage of.
It should be explained better because this outrage by Canadians is being falsely whipped up by politicians and media. At heart…I would bet Canadian people only want fairness too.
I’ve heard Poliviere is piling on too. Anyone?
This is nonsense argument about VAT/HST.
If the local Canadian producer of, say ham, has to pay a 10% HST at the point of retail sale, then it stands to reason that the USA import must also pay the 10% HST at the point of retail sale.
Otherwise the local producers are disadvantaged.
This is usual practice around the World. Not some sneaky Canadian conspiracy against the USA.
Regards rebating VAT/HST to exporters: That is done because there is usually an HST/VAT charged at the point of sale in the destination country. Charging the exporter at home as well as being charged abroad is double charging.
Again, the rebate stands to reason.
The Heritage Foundation did us no favors.
They never did. I can’t understand why President Trump would ever listen to them.
He made some mistakes in his first term. He won’t make those again.

Yes unfortunately we will be suffering phoney Barrett a long time.
The Heritage Foundation rated Hong Kong as one of the most free economies – but I don’t remember them making a big furor about the PRC clamping down on Hong Kong and destroying that freedom and the economy that freedom made possible!
Then, on September 20, 2019, the PRC ran a big full-page ad in the “Los Angeles Times” about their “Greater Bay Area” economy, to lure American businesses there, touting the Heritage Foundation quote about Hong Kong and I do not recall the Heritage Foundation making any kind of big effort to contend that.
IMHO, the PRC was endeavoring to offset President Trump’s tariff program as well as to smother discussion about the 30th anniversary of the June 4, 1989 Tiananmen Square Crackdown- this “new program” was going to offset the loss of business following the NEW crackdown.
I made this youtube video by putting sections of the full-page ad on Power Point slides and then making that into a video. In the hands of a professional, it could be smoother! I just wanted to have people see that there was this big effort to lure American business to Hong Kong, with all the wonderful “stats” about members of the American Chamber of Commerce doing business in Hong Kong, the tourism in the region and all the advantages, including of course, what the Heritage Foundation said (they had that in the ad, too).
Thanks for the assist Federalist Society,
Hey 71 (I think a fellow Miseryan), who should we trust to vet any “Supremes” going forward?

A plant.. that’s still growing and I believe taking the constitution down as she goes. Roberts and commie libs are estatic . This USAID pay is fraud money laundering and otherwise fungible money not where the law, congress signed, as put into place. We no longer live in a constitutional republic and right after the state of the union.. eq. What a surprise.

I said it then, when PDJT 1.0 nominated her. And I’ll say it again now.
ACB was a disaster pick. An alternate reality sneering elitist loon, in a robe.
We knew Roberts was a compromised and controlled CJ. But this one was avoidable.
Not to wish ill on anyone, but hoping that one of the sick liberal Justices (no oxymoron intended) drops out over the next four years. And we get the reincarnation of Scalia with PDJT 2.0.
I don’t wish ill on anyone either, but Sotomeyer appeared so decrepit at the inauguration that she could barely make her way to her seat unassisted.
If her health continues to decline at the rate it appears to have over the past couple of years, there might well be a chance for President Trump to add much needed new (authentic) conservative blood to the court.
Yesterday’s ruling was appalling.
The body’s job is to carry the brain around.
Conjoined the the poor health of the body indicates poor health of the brain.
That’s a chilling prospect, isn’t it?

Well, let’s face it: he too was playing DEI with his choice.
If he hadn’t been so eager to appoint a woman, she wouldn’t be there. Right?
Face biological truths: women evolved to more empathetic than the male of the species.
Thus, it’s crucial to dig more deeply next time into the actual legal decisions of the prospective candidates. Forget their sex.
The poor women choices were made by men, including President Trump.
I will put up a female justice like Aileen Cannon over male Justice like Kavanaugh any day.
Empathy is a skill, not a flaw.
Having said that, some of us took the fifteen minutes or so necessary to understand that Coney Barrett was chosen for the very bad covid-related decision she made just 20 days before her nomination, and we got bashed for not “trust[ing] Trump”.
Empathy having zero to do with it.

AMY PHONY BARRET STRIKES AGAIN!
https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/supreme-court-unblocks-order-halting-us-foreign-aid-payments-5820423
Barrett just voted with libs upholding anti-Trump judge’s order to unfreeze USAID millions.
*Never forget* the administrators here were over the moon for Barrett despite severe and persistent warnings from atty Robert Barnes.
He presented Barrett’s many pro-government, anti-liberty rulings before she was SCOTUS and he warned Barrett was for big govt.
Every one of Barnes’ warnings has come to pass.
Heck, her adoption of two black Haitian kids was a flashing neon sign, “I AM A LIBERAL”.
Interestingly, all the WOMEN on the Court voted against the Executive here.
For those considering responding otherwise: no, I did not overlook Roberts.
Even the crying boy voted with the men here.
The Heritage Foundation and other “conservative” outlets recommended her. She has certainly proven that those fears about her past record were well warranted.
It is past time for these funds to be forensically audited to see exactly where that money is going. We know the executives and CEOs of the NGOs are making $200,000-$1,000,000+ per year. We also know politicians and bureaucrats are handing out grants to friends and family. This is far worse than their insider trading.
FOLLOW that money very closely and then prosecute the fraud!
Indeed!
It’s been long rumored that the deep state has something on Roberts. PDJT’s DOJ needs to find out what it is and release it.
Yes, it’s thought that Roberts illegally adopted his 2 children. Roberts claimed that he and his wife adopted their children from Argentina but it’s suspected that Roberts adopted the children from Ireland which is illegal in that country. I think Obama dug out this “nugget” when he was President.
His kids are adult now though, so that is kind of moot.
I think it’s just who Roberts is.
They won’t be returning the children to their “home” country but Robert’s reputation will be severely tarnished if he illegally adopted those children.
Not really moot. If it came out he circumvented rules or laws, his career as a jurist would be over immediately.
They were private adoptions, so no one is going to go into the records.
Possibly, but perhaps there’s something a bit more damaging than that. Maybe along the lines of Little Saint James Island vacation photos?
I remember reading it was from Russia at a time when Russia had banned US adoptions over some abuse scandal around the time.
Can Congress stop this funding, or Joe Biden allowed to do what ever he wants?
Congress theoretically could pass a bill to defund, but democraps will surely block it in the senate. Need 60 votes to end debate.
If these payments are going to fraud, isn’t this ruling illegal??
Where are the good deeds, needed services and indispensable goods produced that these NGOs can point to say they’ve justified any compensation?? Is this a Constitutional Crisis?
Fake news…really fake news
IN AN EXTRAORDINARY STEP, more than 700 U.S. foreign service officers and civil servants have signed on to a dissent cable to Secretary of State Marco Rubio urging him to stop the dismantling of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and unfreeze foreign aid.
The names of those who have signed on were not immediately clear, nor was the identity of the original author or authors. Organizers were still collecting signatures as of Wednesday morning. According to one of the sources, the hundreds of signers so far included some who did so anonymously and others who attached their names. Though many were USAID employees, State Department officials and foreign service officers as well as other civil servants had also signed the cable. The list spanned missions overseas and employees based in Washington D.C.

Excellent, a list of folks to dismiss. Almost a self draining swamp!
Dismiss And Prosecute..
Regarding the Supreme Court ruling on USAID and other lawfare cases the pending… POTUS has another precedent he can follow.
In the case of Worcester v. Georgia in 1832, the Supreme Court ruled that Georgia could not apply its laws to Cherokee tribal lands, effectively protecting the Cherokee Nation’s sovereignty. However, Jackson’s administration did not enforce this decision, allowing Georgia to continue its efforts to remove the Cherokee from their lands. This situation is often summarized with the apocryphal quote attributed to Jackson, “John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!”
FJB continued dismissing/erasing student loans even after SCOTUS told him it was unconstitutional to do so.
The problem with not complying with the court is the public brouhaha which would cut deeply into the president’s political capital. Both with the public and the RINOs in congress. The drumbeat of impeachment would be beating loudly again. Doesn’t help when he has precious little time to get an agenda across the finish line.

“JUST IN: Supreme Court Orders Trump Administration to IMMEDIATELY Unfreeze Foreign Aid Payments With Barrett and Roberts Siding With the Majority -“Stunned” Alito Issues Scathing Dissent”
Excerpts:
The highest Court in the land caved to the radical left on USAID disbursements and usurped President Trump’s constitutional executive authority.
On Wednesday morning, the Supreme Court ruled that the Trump Administration must IMMEDIATELY release $1.9 billion in foreign aid payments. The Hill notes that this decision maintains a district court judge’s order that the administration must honor foreign aid agreements that existed before Trump took office.
The court ruling was 5-4, with all three liberal justices siding with the non-profit groups suing to have their funds restored.
Does a single district-court judge who likely lacks jurisdiction have the unchecked power to compel the Government of the United States to pay out (and probably lose forever) 2 billion taxpayer dollars?” he wrote. “The answer to that question should be an emphatic ‘No,’ but a majority of this Court apparently thinks otherwise. I am stunned.”
‘Conservative’ Justices John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett voted with the majority for reasons unknown.
Oh I can think of several reasons why they caved! Seven Ways From Sunday!
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/03/just-supreme-court-orders-trump-administration-immediately-unfreeze/
Maybe our new FBI and DOJ can reveal the “pressure points” on both Barrett and Roberts. You know they exist.
Not being a Monday morning quarterback in saying Barrett was a deep-state, uni-party groomer from the beginning. All of her background was in fast-tracking her up the line. The hearings and controversy were nothing but scripted political theater.
Trump made plenty of mistakes in Trump I. This one will hurt for a long time. She’s basically a hard-core liberal that hates abortion.
.
I agree. Something wrong here re Roberts. I think Barrett, however, is just a liberal. (Eough women on the Supreme Court!)
And I implore conservatives to lay off the abortion issue until everything else is fixed. It galvanizes the left as their only popular talking point. On the right, support for Barrett hailed from the same phenomenon that essentially forced Trump in his first campaign to select Pence.
.
‘Bimbo’ and ‘Crazy Eyes’ will reveal nothing. ABC is a liberal white woman masquerading as a republican. Roberts is liberal white woman masquerading as a man

Supreme Court rejects Trump’s request to keep billions in foreign aid frozen
A divided Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected the Trump administration’s request to keep billions of dollars in foreign aid approved by Congress frozen. However, the court did not immediately say when the money must be released, allowing the White House to continue to dispute the issue in lower courts. The ruling was 5-4.The order was unsigned but four conservative justices dissented – Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.
The ruling is not as bad as it seems. It only applies to previously approved aid.

Dr Thomas Sowell of the Hoover institution. His new book is called “Inside American Education: the decline, the deception, the dogmas.” Talk about some of the dogmas that you feel are driving American Education.
Well, one of the dogmas is the notion that you have to feel good about yourself and I think nothing so epitomize this for me as a study of mathematics given to 13 year olds around the world and Koreans came in first Americans came in last and one of the questions that were asked these kids was are you good at math? 23% of the Koreans said yes, something like 68% of the Americans said yes and so American Kids felt good about themselves but they didn’t know any math. Another study was done of 12th graders in Japan to see if they liked math. The 12th graders in Japan dislike math more than the 12th graders in the United States and probably for good reason because he was probably hard at math, but the Japanese don’t worry themselves about whether their 12th gradeers like math or whether they worry or feel good about that.
Is there a balance to be achieved that is helping students feel good about themselves and learn at the same time or is it either or?
I do not believe that there are free lunches and education or anywhere else and it’s hard work that that’s right and I think that’s that’s part of it too. A lot of these programs are really a substitute for hard work by the teachers. I mean, when when I think think of the teachers I had, they could not have cared less whether I felt good about myself.

NO MORE ZERO GEOEngineering in our atmosphere over the United States of America.
This needs to be banned at the Federal level immediately.
Stratospheric Aerosol Injectables ie man made white plumes (fake clouds) are happening daily in the former “Sunshine State,” the great free state of Florida. Tennessee banned this last year and FL and many other states are moving to ban this also this year.
The FAA response to Tennessee’s ban was that the Clean Air Act of 1963 restricts any state from regulating pollutants or emissions from aviation aircraft. SAI are NOT that. No sane judge would make that applicable. The hazardous chemicals of SAI are contained in canisters/flares attached to the back of the plane’s wings, it is not an emission.
It would be so very important if someone could let the POTUS, Lee Zeldon, RFK, Jr. and DOGE know that the Biden White House and Congress have Mandated funding via NOAA and the Office of Science and Technology to cloud seed silver iodide and other toxic chemicals on a daily basis in the U.S. using Stratospheric Aerosol Injectables (SAI) under the umbrella of Solar Radiation Modification (SRM) allegedly to cool the earth and lower the earth’s temperature by 1.5 degrees by 2030, a UN Goal for “One Atmosphere.”
This activity is diabolical.
Rather than having beautiful blue skies and sunshine we see man made white plumes spread out and merge into a blanket of chemicals, a white haze which covers the sun.
The Feds do this “covertly and openly” according to the White House document they issued 6/23. The information that the Feds do in fact conduct this application of weather modification is on page 43 of that document and the words “covertly and openly” on pages 6 and 12.
The 2025 budget has stuffed over 6 billion taxpayer dollars into NOAA. This form of weather modification is dangerous to human beings, our water, soil, plants and animals. The EPA classifies the chemicals they use inside the flares they disperse in our skies as hazardous and toxic.
Americans have not been informed and would not consent to this type of despair rate Climate Change Activism.
NOAA has written a fact sheet attempting to debunk what we know is happening (regarding SAI) and *seeing just like the so called “closed border.” NOAA’s so-called “fact sheet” is in direct conflict with Biden’s own printed Federal documents.
This is not a partisan issue. it’s a crime against humanity.
Congressmen and Senators of good will must immediately educate themselves on this issue and protect our citizens to an activity which clearly amounts to domestic terrorism.
Numerous Federal documents can be found at zerogeoengineering.com
I wish SOMEONE in power would take up this atrocity. Every day I see it– it begins just before daylight -the blue sky that we start out with crisscrossed with dozens and dozens of lines. Then the day becomes hazy and overcast.
Florida should come see the eastern tristate area of DE, NJ , PA and the western tristate area of DE, PA and MD. We live with this four days a week. Somedays the spray moves on with the air current other times not and we have an all consuming milky gray flat looking sky.
That has been my experience in IL…usually starts on a Thursday, early morning.
Additionally, the Feds have a carve out in their own *reporting regulations when they are engaged in weather modification activities such as SAI which is located under the Department of Commerce.
Title 15 – Commerce and Foreign Trade Subtitle B
Chapter IX NOAA
Part 908.1 B Persons having to report
Beginning with the word “except”
“except when acting solely as an employee, agent or independent contractor of the Federal government.”
So the Feds subcontractors and pilots are writing in invisible ink as they douse the American people with hazardous chemicals.
It has to stop.
Why has Neil Jacobs been appointed again? This was happening under his watch in ‘17 at NOAA. Who is briefing PDJT on this issue?
The Feds use language which is cloaked, usually described as weather….: “research”, “experimentation,” and “modification.”
We need a conservative or a businessman, at NOAA. Clearly, the President has not been briefed on what SAI weather modification entails. He loves playing golf outdoors and common sense dictates he would not permit this.

I also see the grids of whatever it is, and I wish someone would tell us what the heck they are spraying up there!
I can absolutely tell you what they are spraying every day in FL and it is at VERY low altitudes at like 900-1100 ft.
It is mostly silver iodide and aluminum which are toxic (classified so by the EPA) and they use other toxic chemicals in the flares to make silver iodide combust. The chemicals are all inside the flares attached to the back of the plane’s wings.
The flares emit the chemicals and become white “plumes of aerosols” or “nano particles” as the idiot Feds like to call them.
Silver Iodide Toxicity causes cancer, dementia and infertility.
That’s probably why Bill Gates is funding this at Harvard Research with his left wing point man David Keith.
In about 15-20 minutes the man made “clouds” spread out and merge together forming a blanket of white haze over the sun. No more blue skies.
They often start “Cloud seeding” this poison before sunrise-
Note to pilots- you are all criminal and no matter what time you start we know what it is. Contrails don’t do this.
How will you explain this to Christ at your judgment? This harmful to your fellow man and is an affront to God and the beautiful sky he created.
Go look for details at zero Geoengineering.com
False. No studies show that silver iodide exposure causes cancer in humans or animals. That conspiracy theory has been debunked many times over.
….a debunked “conspiracy theory” typical Alinsky attack.
Not in small amounts silver iodide does not but doing this ever single day with multiple hazardous chemicals in multiple shifts per day flying 900-1100 feet over your head, yes.
There is a very good reason the EPA classifies silver iodide as a hazardous toxin and pollutant.
No Americans have consented to be lab rats to the best of my knowledge.
Most Americans prefer blue skies the way God created them.
This needs to stop.

With no disrespect- Snoopy Laugh.
You do NOT go to NOAA websites to get those fake white washed answers, they are the monsters orchestrating this mess.
Federal Documents in this link below, a treasure trove of information.

I saw the chemical “weather-modification” first hand in my new home in St. Augustine FL. At Crescent Beach, I felt like I was walking in a dystopian bad dream, with a barrage of plumes & aerosol streaks cross-crossing the entire sky. It was depressing to even look up. If the federal and/or state governments do not stop this hideous aerosol assault, it will kill Florida coastal tourism. It is that bad. The Florida Legislatire should make this activity a FELONY.
Thank you for this! I live in Bucks County PA and have only noticed this phenomenon in the past few months. Because I started noticing drone activity in my area on my daily walks, I more and more began LOOKING UP. !!!! Try it, folks. It’s like we’re not allowed to have a clear blue sky anymore. I don’t know what else to do but say amen and encourage others to become observers, also.
It’s as though someone put this disastrous activity on steroids knowing the President will put s stop to it when he figures out it’s going on.
Clearly- no one has briefed Pres. Trump that it’s going on in his own home state on a daily basis. Florida is currently no longer the “Sunshine State.”
There is legislation moving through FL this session to ban it. Hopefully that will be a wake up call for other Americans to contact their elected representatives to ban it.
Thank you Nancy for putting a spotlight on this evil program. Praying that the legislation is successful in Florida and then continues to the other 49 states!
Top HHS spokesperson quits
A top spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) who served during President Trump’s first administration announced his abrupt resignation just weeks after being sworn in to his new role in Trump’s second term.
Tom Corry, who served as assistant secretary of public affairs at HHS, announced on LinkedIn he resigned Friday effective immediately.
“I want to announce to my friends and colleagues that last Friday I announced my resignation effective immediately. To my colleagues at HHS, I wish you the best and great success,” wrote Corry.
Corry served in the first Trump administration in a similar role, that of senior adviser and director of communications at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
He resigned less than two weeks after announcing he had been appointed and sworn in, writing at the time on LinkedIn he was “thankful that I’ll be part of the team that is going to work to make America healthy again, and on making healthcare more affordable and accessible.”
HHS did not immediately respond when reached by The Hill for comment on Corry’s abrupt departure.

Maybe he decided he couldn’t work with Kennedy.
The former head of the CDC is unfamiliar with specifics of the current childhood vaccine schedule, admits that he disagrees with it, basically says he had no say in it despite being in charge of the agency that created it.
Fascinating and disturbing clip from a recent interview with Del Bigtree.
Full interview. Very long! Dr Redfield comes clean, but where the h3ll was he when people were being damaged and killed? Alludes to threats on his life, which I believe, but his silence hurt so many.
A lot for RFK Jr to clean up.
It’s been glaringly obvious the left is a rudderless ship of fools, with a broken mast and headed for the rocks.
Here’s a comment I came across earlier showing just how badly they’re taking on water.

Red Pilled. I was watching Trump’s speech with some very liberal (uninformed) family. Throughout the speech, Trump made common sense points and introduced invited guests (ex: Laken Riley’s Mother/Sister, 15 year old, brain cancer survivor and new inductee as a Secret Service agent). My family was baffled why the Democrats weren’t applauding, scowling and holding up stupid signs. Family comments: “Don’t they feel sorry a Mother who lost their child to a murderer?” . “Aren’t they happy that they discovered millions of social security recipients over the age of 110?”. “Don’t the Democrats like eliminating taxes on Social Security?”. My liberal family was red pilled and they didn’t know it.

NPR is still doing this?
Tonight NPR repeated the Charlottesville hoax as fact.
WHEN WNIT has One of THE NICEST BUILDINGS in DOWNTOWN SOUTH BEND Indiana Across From
the FEDERAL BUILDING
” HOUSTON, WE ( U.S. the TAXPAYER ) HAVE A PROBLEM ” !
Each and every time someone repeats this lie, PT should sue them. It’s a shame he can’t fine them $1mil each time.
So the ruling by the supreme court was crappy, but wasn’t it just a procedural ruling from captain “follow procedure with appeals first” Roberts? I believe Trump can appeal the lower court and go back up to the Supreme Court again.
The SC ruled that the Trump administration has to release the $2 billion to the NGO’s for the work that was completed. They basically ruled No questions are allowed to asked about theses payments ,just pay it. I would be curious if it were to be discovered ,proven and charges brought against anyone/someone that there was fraud, embezzlement or money laundering included in these payments wouldn’t this make the SC an accessory to the crime?
I didn’t like ACB from the start . She gave President Trump a stink side eye last night. That look proved to me that she despises President Trump. As for John Roberts, I think he is deserving of a demotion. He if really cared about right and wrong he would resign and let Justice Alito or Justice Thomas be elevated to the position of Chief Judge of the SC.
It’s important to note: This is a procedural ruling, not a merits ruling. Five justices, including Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Coney Barrett, opted to deny the application.
After Judge Ali ordered the administration to disburse $2 billion in funding by a certain deadline, SCOTUS temporarily paused that order, but now, since the deadline is past (and moot), rather than vacate it altogether, they’re lifting the pause and sending things back to the district court to sort out further.
This isn’t the end of the story on this case — not by a long shot.
Barrett is a stickler on adhering to strict construction, but hopefully she will vote with the rest of the conservatives when it comes back to the SCOTUS on the merits.
What’s with the plagiarism of Jonathan Turley here?

I don’t know anything about this but your first two sentences are confusing my midget brain.
If they were ordered to pay for the work that was completed, they would have to know what was completed and what wasn’t.
Wouldn’t that involve questions?
A monumental moment for me, was the clear and unmistakable presence of a demon looking out through the eyes of Supreme Court Justice Amy Barrett. She was barely able to keep herself from leaping on the President and biting him when he passed by her and Justice whatshisname. What a visual!!!!
Here is a clip of PDJT greeting the justices….
And there it is at the 39-40 second mark. The look of smugness and distain on the face of the stuck up ACB.
From now on President Trump should never speak another word of praise about SCJ ACB again , totally ignore her.
Too his face she smiled and then as he moved on she looked him with disdain.
She might as well have worn a pink dressed and held up a sign “I am a progressive judge who mixes politics with law.”
McConnells gal done good.
Is Trump preparing to invoke the Insurrection Act? Signs are pointing that way
https://www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/openforum/article/insurrection-act-president-trump-20201819.php
What a stupid article.
There is no time limit imposed on when that USAID money must be disbursed. It can be any time up to the end of the fiscal year in September. Expect that to be the case here. The courts cannot dictate when funds must be disbursed.
That is good news. A thorough audit and evaluation of “completed work” must be done IMO before any monies paid out. Hope it embarrasses the Phony Scotus members in the end.
https://jonathanturley.org/2025/03/05/down-but-not-out-supreme-court-rules-5-4-against-the-administration-over-hold-on-2-billion-in-usaid-funds/
FAR MORE significantly, they effectively ruled that an INFERIOR court created by CONGRESS can make a NATIONAL injunction against THE POTUS (that’s the SCOTUS’ JOB !). In other words, typical LAWFARE override of the POTUS!
That’s why one of the dissenting judges said they’re STUNNED.
The dissent by Justices Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh was extremely strongly worded:
Does a single district-court judge who likely ***lacks jurisdiction*** have the unchecked power to compel the Government of the United States to pay out (and probably lose forever) 2 billion taxpayer dollars?
The answer to that question should be an emphatic “No,” but a majority of this Court apparently thinks otherwise.
I am stunned.
——-
Today, the Court makes a most unfortunate misstep that rewards an act of judicial hubris and imposes a $2 billion penalty on American taxpayers.
The District Court has made plain its frustration with the Government, and respondents raise serious concerns about nonpayment for completed work. But the relief ordered is, quite simply, too extreme a response.
A federal court has many tools to address a party’s supposed nonfeasance.
***Self-aggrandizement of its jurisdiction*** is not one of them.
IF THAT is allowed to stand, this country is even more OVER that I previously thought it was.
You are one of the few who seems to understand the gravity of this decision. The precedent is set. The dissent is nothing more than pissing against the wind. Slowly, surely, the Judiciary are usurping the Executive.
The President should deem the funds Student Loans.
Problem solved.
Indeed. You can then deny SCOTUS with impunity. The Judiciary are proceeding exactly as you suggest.
Thanks Winston.

Does it drive anyone else crazy how much discontent, division, and worry the mainstream media creates? It seems to me that instead of reporting news, they spend more time trying to shape policy, sabotage our president, and drive certain narratives. I think the most popular example right now involves tariffs. They’re spending all waking hours with “tariffs bad” propaganda. This helps to create volatility in the stock market, drive consumer fear, and keep the environment hyperpolitical. They love the status quo of cheap foreign labor and the US getting ripped off. There can be no changes to this system per these geniuses. Notably, they’re completely silent on any of China’s transgressions, yet anything involving President Trump is “polarizing” and “divisive.”
They will be spending all of their waking hours trying to prove how the tariffs are a mistake. Mark my words. They’ll be interviewing contractors, businesses, scouring data, and doing anything else that will help sabotage trade policy.
The tariffs will last for a few weeks. Then Trump will declare that Canada and Mexico have given in, and that his tariffs have succeeded, and he’s the winner. The greatest ever.
Rep. Thomas Massie Demands Congress Cut Off USAID Funding After Supreme Court’s Outrageous Ruling
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/03/rep-thomas-massie-demands-congress-cut-usaid-funding
The SCOTUS order today sent the case back to the lefty district court judge. However, the judge cannot immediately order the administration to just start writing checks. As a poster at Hot Air explained:
“Roberts’ order will force [Judge] Ali to step through each of the spending demands, determine standing for each party, and set a rational schedule. The latter will leave enough time for the Trump administration to appeal and get hearings on the merits. And if [Judge] Ali balks at approaching this rationally, we know for certain that the Trump administration has four votes to grant cert right now, and that Roberts will be none to happy to have to intervene again in the same case. ”
The government should challenge standing for each plaintiff.
Each plaintiff should produce itemized bills and supporting receipts for each expenditure, so it can be determined if they were appropriate, and for a reasonable amount. This would be for past expenditures.
As far as future services go, it appear that Trump is cancelling all their contracts, and that would not doubt turn on the language in the contract allowing the US to end it. Or Trump could just say, “We’re done. Don’t need you anymore.”

It’s just a punt. The Justice Department failed to challenge at the Supreme Court the first and underlying order enjoining the pause on disbursement, leaving the only issue for the Court the time allowed in the second order to comply. On that, the Court sided with the applicants.
You have Order One that tells you to do X. You have Order Two that tells you to do X within 36 hours. If you appeal Order Two, which is not normally appealable, but not Order One, the most a stickler like Roberts is likely to give you is more time—which is exactly what he gave.

The court sent the whole thing BACK to the DC court to retry the first Judgement.
That means the considered the first Judgement, so what is said here is wrong and missing something.
Also, the arguments made by the Solicitor General (NOT DoJ) were Constitutional questions, which were ignored and instead favored a remedy consistent with the Law Written by Congress … i.e. the Supreme Court agrees with CONGRESSIONAL Law and requires WHO EVER is taking up the case to discuss how the law is not being followed. The Supreme Court, incorrectly and cowardly, made an ADMINISTRATIVE Judgement on Guilt or no guilt per the law and not based on the constitutional question asked.
In a civil case, it’s “liable or not liable.”
Thanks.
Any verdict short of a WIN for the White House either via the Solicitor General or White House Counsel is a win for the democrats, neverTrumpers and lawfare in general.
Because what you suggest EATS UP TIME and ACKNOWLEDGES the is NO Constitutional issue… also to do the Roberts’ FULL REMEDY PROCESS in order to return to the Roberts Roulette Wheel for another spin and also having the DC Judge issue a slightly different verdict that may result in the same do loop action AGAIN. This also sets Precedent that there is “room”, as Robert stated in the Plenary Powers Case, “to discuss cases where the President does not have such power over the Executive Branch “.
Roberts hid behind Barret’s vote as well as his cowardly “full remedy BS”.
Roberts likes to hide in majorities, if only because as CJ, he has seniority. If Thomas is in the majority, Roberts still has seniority. This means Roberts either writes the opinion of the Court, or assigns it.
I would have preferred a short and quick reversal and dismissal, but sending it back to the district judge, and making him slog through standing challenges, and challenges to the reasonableness of the billing is a half-win.
I’d guess the judge was hoping for a “just write the checks” result. Now he and the plaintiffs will have to work for their money.
I hope that’s right.
Certainly Ali the Islamo-Commie will not help. Will Roberts indeed gladly revisit it?
It seems to me that SCOTUS just gave a green light to every Commie Night Court Judge in America to conduct LawFare against PDT.
Is that correct?
You have to re-read this statement a few times to appreciate how insane it is. Apparently RFK Jr. has accepted that he has to give up on combatting greenhouse gas emissions, so the new ‘greenhouse gas’ he’s going to combat is … anti-Semitism?
Good statements by RFKj. I hope Michael Tracey is just having a little trouble interpreting what RFKj said. Perhaps Tracey should re-read RFKj’s statements again because Tracey is looking insane to me.
It’s entirely appropriate to address Anti-Semitism at HHS. Describing universities as greenhouses for Anti-Semitism has nothing to do with greenhouse gases.
Tracey was being sarcastic.
Kennedy isn’t addressing anti-semitism at HHS.
I think he’s got more than enough to do without getting into “building communities” claptrap.
I find Tracey’s sarcasm disturbing.
President Trump’s Cabinet is doing just fine. Day 45 for the President. Far fewer days for most of his Cabinet. Lot of good things happening. 🙂
