Those who do not pretend already know the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is the cover agency for CIA influence operations worldwide. However, technically USAID is supposed to be the charitable side of U.S. government, supporting foreign countries.

The CIA and State Dept work together. USAID is the sub agency silo that carries out the missions.
The State Dept is the front of house, the dining room. The CIA is the kitchen. USAID are the staff, with DoD as the bussers.

What they are alluding to is that Musk is basically building ICBM’s for the purpose of going to Mars. Technically, they are not ICBM’s because they are not meant to carry warheads, but the technology is the same.
Musk would not have been trusted with ICBM technology without passing TS clearance or higher; he would also have to have a significant number of people who work for him to have that clearance.
It’s a leftist talking point to say that Musk, or his team, isn’t approved to see the documents. As we have seen the President can revoke clearance; he can also grant it. Classification level is only a part. “Need to know” is another crucial factor.
You can be denied access to classified material for either factor, under the “classification” rationale. We can’t know for sure exactly what the denial was based on.
Just remember that POTUS can declassify if he wants. And he wants.
Both are true:
1-Government employees and contractors are held to strict requirements under federal law for safeguarding classified information, with potential penalties for violations including termination and potential criminal prosecution / incarceration. (So the apparatchiks refusing access were doing their job.)
2-Classified information systems are apparently overused to hide things that should not be hidden. (So Musk’s team attempting to see what’s going on may be justified per Trump’s goals.)
The problem here seems to be that Musk’s DOGE elite shock troops parachuting in don’t have the required security clearances.
What the heck is going on? Trump’s teams knows all this, they are apparently willfully ignoring this issue and sending them in without the necessary clearances anyway.
Catch-22:
a) Apparatchiks do their job protecting classified material: Get roughly shoved aside and put on leave for resisting DOGE, apparently a step toward termination, all broadcast to the world in near-real-time.
OR
b) Apparatchiks facilitate people without necessary clearances gaining access to classified information: Violate federal law and the terms of their employment, risk punitive actions up to and including termination and prosecution.

I had the same concerns as Emeth last week. Only this morning did I read about the actual EO addressing the subject. “Trust but verify” comes to mind. It seems Emeth wants that verification. Without official security clearances, DOGE’s zealous efforts could get sidelined.
Elon Musk and his team run Space X and Starlink. As you know Space X has billion dollar contracts with NASA, NSA and Space Force to build and launch military communications and spy satellites into orbit. Starlink provides secure communications for the United States, NATO and the Ukrainian Armed Forces along with targeting and missile control.

But you and I are not the ones charged with confirming security clearances as part of granting access to classified info.

Security clearances are not handed out like candy to everyone in a company. Some in Musk’s companies doubtless have clearances as needed, but that doesn’t mean the DOGE shock troops breaking things in USAID etc. have the required clearances.
And there is also a “need to know” requirement, in addition to requisite clearance level, to gain access to specific information. Maybe the DOGE shock troops hit so fast there wasn’t enough time to establish all this through regular channels.
Of course, all we have is info fed to us by media. It is possible the security clearance issue is fake news. We have no way of confirming that either.
But, boy, armchair quarterbacking sure is fun, isn’t it? Keeps us all distracted from the runaway sovereign debt juggernaut that won’t stop even if $2T is cut from the federal budget. Not to split hairs, but your sources providing the overview of the Intelligence Community don’t quite get it. This has led to mischaracterizations of the on-the-ground operations of American intel.

It might look that way to one not immersed in the machinations. I’m guessing that your source is Mike Benz. He spent about a year in the State Dept. in an IT role. He saw things, and clearly made assumptions. But his analyses, while seemingly well-meaning, and in the right ballpark, lack fidelity to the actual truth.
USAID’s mission, under Bush in Iraq/Afghanistan, and then Obama era, and post-Obama, expanded into “democracy,” “nation-building” and all the other nice-sounding neocon and PC-Prog foreign missions.
These types of objectives were not really IC missions–even though they were adjacent, but the IC was totally engaged in counter-terrorism missions. Thus, USAID took on these “democracy” and “nation-building” missions. The IC, including CIA, had their own, similar types of operations, but not so flagrant or media-friendly.
USAID, from those Iraq/Afghanistan/democracy/nation-building roots in the 2000’s and 2010’s, built its own infrastructure of NGOs and contractors to pursue those missions.
So, yes, USAID is (was!) engaged in Color Revolution operations. But their engagement in such operations is parallel to, and separate from, the actual IC.
In fact, far from being a cover for IC operations, USAID is a RIVAL for budgets for such missions.
Not that this distinction makes much difference. But asserting that AID provides cover for IC operations is just not right.
And don’t forget how many times all the politicians have screamed that there is nothing we can cut to reduce the budget!
The federal government appears to be one massive RICO scam to hide it’s real activities, it’s spending, and it’s priorities. There are unlimited groups, NGO’s, secondary agencies, contractors, and regular employees that are all in it for their own greed. The use of these bureaucratic agencies to do things outside of their defined missions has got to stop.
I can’t wait until we get the detailed reports on all the corruption. I am also looking forward to a major trickle down to state, county, and city corruption of the same kind. The formula is the same. Using commissions, contractors, and “charitable” organizations to hide the corruption and scams from the American people is coming to an end.
I think it is a mistake to assume that all CIA are the bad guys doing bad things. There is a legitimate argument for having eyes and ears on what is going on in other countries. The task is to weed out the ones who are circumventing legitimate chain of command, assuming these leaders have legitimate interests in alignment with the Trump “America First” Administration and those of the Free World. Unfortunately we have had a slew of crooked Presidents, DOS actors, etc who were not aligned with America First values and initiatives but were aligned with the NWO globalist Take Down America initiatives.
