Obviously not an accountant and husband not here right now to clean up my references but wouldn’t DOGE be tracking more ‘cut’ details as to when actual savings occurs? I.e. Contracts not to be renewed but still in force for a period of time.
One key to cost-cutting is eliminating unnecessary personnel coupled with hiring freezes. Then you have to cut off their budgets for replacing the unnecessary personnel with contractors. Hope DOGE takes a good look at the approved contractor list (especially BAH).

We have now seen two aircraft go directly toward a crash with no attempt to circumvent it. I am beginning to think that both the helo and the Philly jet were out of the control of the pilots.

Nah , the Philly jet was said to be making as many as 2-3 flights per day . It will be a component failure . Planes require as much as 3 times more maintenance than a vehicle . Flying that often it probably was not getting required service and repairs . As for the Helo, most people don’t have a grasp on how difficult it is to fly a helicopter ( requires six hours maintenance to every one hour of flight time ) ; add that to night vision goggles and several poor decisions and you have an accident of catastrophic proportion.

Crap if any of you watch the show FBI that is exactly what this week’s episode was all about. Someone hacked into the airline’s computer system and took over control of a place threaten to crash it. Will say it soon after I watched the episode that the crash happened. Did feel weird when I heard of the crash…However that 2nd crash has me go hmmmmmmmmmmm
Reposting this because I think it is important:
I live a few miles north of the Northeast Phila Airport and have been reporting here about drones flying from south to north (mostly) behind my house, about one minute apart. Last night they could be heard, but not seen because of bad weather with low clouds. The video of this crash would seem to match a sudden mid-air collision. These are not small drones, by the way. They are the size of small planes.
One thing that distinguishes these entities is their apparent ability to evade radar detection. (That is what New Jersey mayors were told when they met together with Homeland Security). In that case, no one at the airport or on the jet would be aware. Although the 2 recent accidents look very similar, investigators would not be looking for a mid-air collision. I wonder what we would be told if they started finding pieces of a drone among the wreckage. Just something to consider.

This is the first day since I became aware of the drones described above (around Thanksgiving) that I have not seen even one. When you consider that there would normally be about 60 passing by in an hour, and all I would ever have to do to see one would be to simply look up, this is pretty surprising.
