I watched this a week ago. Should be exhibit A in the trial against those California “leaders” dereliction of duty, gross negligence trial.

I watched Sen. Durbin’s remarks given on the Senate floor prior to the Noem vote.
My goodness – SD has been right all along by stating Dems have to pretend to “not know things”.
Durbin stated our lives are going to fall apart, and costs to skyrocket because there will be no one to: 1.) Clean the hotel rooms; 2.) Work the ag fields and orchards; 3.) Milk the cows (!!!!); 4.) Staff the elder care facilities.

From what I understand, there was a highly effective “Brassero” program in Cali during the ’40s-’60s (not quite certain about the time frame however). Mexicans were allowed into the country, transported to specific ag orchards and fields where they stayed in designated camps for the duration of the picking/harvesting period. Then they were bussed back across the border. They were paid their wages, and that was it. To my knowledge there were no pregnant women involved in this program.
Durbin was adamant that today’s migrant field workers should pay into Social Security. No flipping way. Income taxes and that’s it. SS payments create future entanglements leading to citizenship.
Durbin IS ignorant: cows are milked by machine….everyone knows it….what a fool.

We have a family friend that has a son that’s a Wild Land Fire Fighter. He was sent to California to help out with the fire fighting. The in-state fire fighters were put up in hotels while his group from Oregon slept on the beach.
I enjoy camping and I wouldn’t complain about camping out on the beach, especially if I had a surf rod, a camp fire and my guitar.
I would not doubt that some of the out of state fire fighters did feel some kind of disrespect and second class status. I know my friend’s son did.
Those who come from out of state should be the first to be put in hotels. Jmo

It’s in the CAL Fire (the “state firef ighters”) MOU negotiated in the contract: hotels = a pleasant experience.
I always felt sorry for the local and feds sleeping in tents, but the local guys were making 1,100+ in OT per day. Also, the Feds are per hour “worked” and CAL Fire is portal-to-portal. CAL Fire likes to do 24’s: a day on the line and a day in the hotel.
Sometimes hotels can be the downfall: hotel 2 hour drive away from fire line: 12 hour’s on the line, 1 hour for breakfast before, 1 hour for dinner after, with 4 ‘s driving only gives 6 hours for sleep.
In the ICS structure under the Logistics Branch falls the Motel Unit Leader <—- you want to be on this person’s good side!!!!!

If you get assigned to a strictly Fed fire/incident (in sole FRA (Federal Responsibility Area) or LRA (Local Responsibility Area) fire/incident most likely not going to get hotels unless you can get someone to pay for them with their “CAL Card” (state credit card) since they may or may not be reimbursed; however, most large fires threaten or burn part of the SRA (State Responsibility Area) so it’s hardly an issue. The other downfall was mixed use strike teams made ups of CAL Fire staffed engines and other non-CAL Fire staffed engines, normally have to rough it.
For the Palisades fire, CAL Fire Incident Management Team 2 took over Command of the Incident on the morning of January 8. These teams all have a Motel Unit Leader 🙂
If PDJT wants North Carolina cleaned up, get a CAL Fire Incident Management Team to take charge.

That chart needs to be updated with recent Trump pardons. And, the numbers don’t tell the whole story.
PDJT’s most recent pardons are people that were persecuted by the Biden regime for crimes that were either non-crimes or were barely felonies or misdemeanors. If our justice system was not slanted against Trump supporters or pro life people then PDJT would have not even needed to issue pardons.
So, the pardons that PDJT did this week should not even count because our justice system is dirty and corrupt.

I am beginning to think Newscum is more of an idiot than FJB…hard to beat FJB for incompetence and malfeasance but Gavin is getting there.
I spent 20+ years in the fire department in So Cal. The headline is a little misleading. Yes, the National Guard Units help, but hardly the must have to get the job done. There are a ton of engine companies staffed everyday in all the municipal fire departments in So Cal. LA County Fire has 171 front line engines and LA City has about 140 (that’s just those two departments)

The first one I saw (I only looked a the one each morning after 08:00) that had engine company totals was on the 9th and it was 297 (just engine companies) and over 2,000 personnel assigned.
Looks like the total engines peaked around the 15th at 524, there was 5,104 personnel assigned.
I was looking to see if the Eaton Fire had a damage assessment map. I found it. When you look at it, the red house is one that’s over 50% damaged. Look at it and then the city boundary map of Altadena I’ll post below it: almost the entire city burned to the ground!!

There is no “right” to international trade or the capacity for your nationals to enter and remain in any given nation under any specific set of circumstances, ever, period. That’s what “national sovereignty” IS.
We have reports that Mexico refusing landing permission for a repatriation flight of Mexican citizens who were being deported. There is dispute over whether this was a “miscommunication” (e.g. Mexico refused but the reason was they believed the persons on board were not Mexican) or whether it was actually a refusal to take back their own people.
If its a miscommunication then let’s see that flight leave once its resolved, which I would presume it was and did in fact depart to Mexico on a rapid basis.
But if it is in fact a refusal to accept one’s own citizens back into their nation, and this should apply to any nation, then the price of that must be an immediate embargo and closure of the border, rescission of all visas including for those nationals already here, and a complete lockdown on trade, monetary flows along with an immediate freeze and expropriation of any assets held by any national, whether a person or corporation, domiciled in that country that happen to be in the United States.
I don’t care how someone gets here (or into any other nation); the responsibility of a sovereign is to accept their own citizens if they’re kicked out of wherever they are, whether that expulsion is for good cause or not.

I know that President Trump wanted to end the TPS programs, which only started in 1990.
I don’t know if he’s gotten around to abolishing that yet, or whether we will be seeing the wholesale removal of the masses of Somalians dumped on places like Springfield begin any time soon.

A new analysis that began under the Biden administration is released by the C.I.A.’s new director, John Ratcliffe, who wants the agency to get “off the sidelines” in the debate.

No it didn’t. I live in SW Missouri. Ground Zero here came from an infected group of 20 or so Chinese Nationals that were traveling and stopped at several restaurants and hotels in my area. I expect the ChiComs had several of the groups traveling around the U.S. in late 2019 early 2020
There is an article in today’s “Wall Street Journal” about Bill Gates . . . Gates is speculating whether or not he was on the spectrum . . . “probably” . . .
Maybe I don’t know enough about autism and the spectrum (eg, having Ausberger’s) . . . I thought if you were truly and correctly diagnosed, then that was it, it wasn’t something that would “go away” . . . like having blue eyes as a child!
My Mom has been reading the Bill Gates article . . . she does not see any mention of the boy that fell off the mountain and died although Gates mentioned his liking to hike in the article.
Just off the top of my head, it seems to me like an effort by Gates to make us look at him more sympathetically. I don’t know, he is just a weird guy is my takeaway!

I had two on the spectrurm they made it to adulthood…..2 of 4, the other 2 had issues because of the other two….it was horrible for a parent and worse for the children’s.
Starting to make up the Specturm stuff to be over blown reasons to medicate. People figured it out before Pharma came around. My understanding is bad things happen when the drugs are stopped and bad things happen when the drugs are started at an early age, thus not allowing kids to figure things out as they grow in to adults.
He’s jealous of the grace that Elon is getting for being on the spectrum.
