According to recent media reports, “as of Saturday morning, the Palisades fire, at 21,596 acres, was 11% contained and the Eaton fire, at 14,117 acres, was 15% contained, according to Cal Fire.” The fire outlook for Saturday is back at the “Critical” level for much of southern California as dry, gusty winds fan the flames. Winds are expected to pick up later Saturday into the night, raising the fire danger yet again.
Approximately 7,000 structures have been destroyed in the Eaton Fire, authorities said at a press conference today. The Palisades Fire has destroyed more than 5,000 structures, according to an early morning update from the Los Angeles Fire Department.
CALIFORNIA – The Palisades and Eaton wildfires have killed at least 11 people and destroyed some 12,000 structures as of Friday. Evacuation orders have been lifted in some areas as firefighters make progress on the Kenneth, Hurst and Lidia fires.
The exact causes of the fires remain under investigation, but they were fueled by extreme gusts from the Santa Ana winds. Winds Forecasters warn they could pick back up later this weekend.
Officials have identified the origin of the Palisades blaze fire behind a home on Piedra Morada Drive, which sits above a densely wooded arroyo. (more)
-
- Five devastating wind-fed fires have killed at least 11 people and swept through 39,000 acres in the greater Los Angeles area, destroying entire communities and more than 12,000 structures.
- Evacuation orders for the largest blaze, the Palisades Fire, have expanded as it sweeps east and threatens Brentwood and Encino. It is 11% contained.
- At least 153,000 L.A. residents were under evacuation orders overnight. A map of the evacuation zone is here.
-
- Gov. Gavin Newsom called for an independent investigation into the loss of water pressure to local fire hydrants and the reported unavailability of water supplies from the Santa Ynez Reservoir.
- Los Angeles County declared a public health emergency, warning that smoke and particulate matter could pose immediate and long-term threats. The full warning and list of recommendations can be found here.

I know that there is a lot we can all say about this, but for now I suggest that we just pray for our fellow Americans.
Trust me, we’re all going to pay for this incompetence. It’s going to be a big challenge for the incoming administration and painful for ALL of us. Remember “Never let a crisis go to waste?”
Another mess that President Trump is going to have to deal with.
One solution is for Trump to take over California. Then he can find out about all of the vote cheating there.
Maybe he can make it a new state — oh, that’s right! Seriously though, it is just a horrific thing that I wish upon no one. Those in charge should pay for this dereliction or abuse or chicanery — any of which are beyond the pale!
Praying for all affected by this disgusting crisis!
Annex Calizuela and bring it back under the control of the US?
I’m cool with that.
Matt Gaetz is in San Diego.
PDJT could appoint him Special Prosecutor for the takeover of failed state.
Kind of like a repo of a car not paid for.
Could he require federal oversight over CA fire/forest/and water management, the way the feds have had to institute federal oversight of some of the police departments here? I would love to see that, as well as the liberal heads exploding over it.
But I hope that Congress and PDJT will attach “strings” to any federal assistance given, as in mandatory water storage and woodland/brush cleanup, etc., as a condition for such aid.
I hope they attach financial strings to any money given, such as:
“The identical amount of $ shall be sent to both California and NC/TN/GA”
Amen. As bad as I feel for the people of CA, what I want to know is, why in the h3ll are the people in western NC still in tents in the freezing winter cold? What the h3ll are we all paying taxes for when they can’t fix anything.
I am 30 minutes south of Atlanta and there is a few inches of snow on the ground.
It also is 38 degrees and tomorrow is expected to be around 24 degrees overnight.
I am heading back to Illinois tomorrow and when I checked Nashville it is going
to start the morning around 24 degrees, creeping up to 43 degrees in the afternoon.
I do not see any snow incoming in the next few days. Traveling 75, 24 and 57, 80
and then 355.
Cannot imagine what the people in NC and TN who are already in hurricane distress
now have to deal with.
And the media mostly reports on the loss (or not) of celebrity homes in the LA area.
I’m from So. Cal. (Orange, not L.A. County) and I want to know that too. It’s not right, is it MTeresa. I’ve been following their plight and praying for them as well as SC and TN.
Add on Lahaina, Maui Hawaii as well..
Until California has honest and fair elections, not much else will change.
If nothing else, perhaps this will get Californians riled up to find those politicians who need to be purged from power.
Would be interesting to know who this area of CA voted for.
“Schiff for Brains”
FEMA applies restrictions like rebuilding higher in a flood zone. I don’t see why they cannot apply the same logic for rebuilding after the wildfires.
Congress will demand all kinds of conditions and NEVER, Ever follow through.
Pray. God would not want anyone to hurt or perish. And help where you can, in any way you can – big or small.
The Sunset fire was just one street away from consuming my niece’s home before finally being contained.
Praise God!
“The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire.”

Time for Newscum to step down. He’s obviously another failed queen.
Newscum thought it would be a good idea to go on a radical far left podcast called Pod Save America while cities are burning to the ground. Then he decided to get people to donate for “relief”. The problem, that donation site is directly tied to ActBlue, the organization that is under investigation for money laundering.

This picture does so much for my diet. I am going to post it on my refrigerator door.
Castro did not resign. That was a head fake. He will be in power until the end of summer.
Trudy did not resign.
He looks right at home in that get-up..
As this fire makes abundantly clear, voting for Democrats can get people killed.
100% true.
Listen to this gentleman from LA describe the causes behind this with excellent clarity.
I’m afraid that some people (I’m acquainted with a few) despise President Trump and anything that he represents even if that means common sense and reason. They are possessed by TDS and will never vote using logic. They are so consumed with their radical leftist ideology, they will NEVER get it.
They would never consider voting any other way, because essentially, MANY of the left make all decisions based on “a woman’s right to choose.” They are one issue voters. And so they buy into all of the rest of the leftist bullsh*t.
I pray for their eyes to be open.
“They are possessed”
That is all that’s needed to be said of the leftists.
Yep,
As far as those nutjobs are concerned, people dying is just a price that has to be paid to be “progressive”.
Sickening.
But, in a fascinating twist of abnormal psychology, these radical never-Trumpers are convinced that HE is the bad guy! They buy into DEI, genital mutilation, murdering babies, election fraud, shredding the US Constitution, the mark of the beast and assassinating people they don’t like.
Yet WE are the bad guys?
Thanks for sharing!
He is spot on!
This is happening all across our country 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hopefully, it is a wake-up call for many…..
👍 👍
Local news in SoCal showed photo evidence of the Eaton fire starting via sparking power lines on a hillside. There is also supposed to be a video of this but the channel said it was not release yet because it’s part of the investigation… That bit seems odd, but the photo was pretty clear.
Winds are back today…
Evidently there was about a 1000% increase in power anomalies that are detected by the power company before the fires started. These anomalies are caused by power lines arcing on branches and such.
Not sure why PG&E didn’t preemptively cut the power, they do that all the time in northern CA where I live.
I’m in Simi Valley… So Cal Edison shuts down half the city at a hint of a breeze and leaves them off for days. I’m lucky to be in a newer area with power lines under ground.
Still… it’s time to get out of Cali.
You can’t get a fire going by cutting the power!
Some power CO cut the power after the fire started. They cut the whole canyon last night. Mandeville Canyon.
Well then, the local legal profession can sue the heck out of PG&E one more time and finally put them out of business. And put up more wind turbines cause it appears the wind is blowing, but wait, wind turbines are not allowed in LA county or anywhere close to LA.
The Government just loves, loves, loves to blame an electric company for ‘sparking lines’. It gives them somewhere to point when people (correctly) blame Government for the whole mess.
We all pray for these people and it’s obvious these fires are deliberate and the incompetence of California leadership is fanning the flames literally.
Wait until the tax bills are due and people find out rebuilding will not happen in most areas followed by land grabs.
The environment lobby in California wants millions to leave the state and it will soon become obvious.
Looking forward…the displaced people will leave LA for good…there no reason to stay as nothing is left…to rebuild will take years fighting insurance and regulatory red tape.
Expect most to head east to the Phoenix area, Dallas or Austin, Nashville or Florida…
And expect public housing to occur in some of the devastated areas…this is what the left has been itching to do for years…
The Dumbasspora abides.
Its one way to deal with the homeless problem isn’t it.
I feel very bad for the animals caught up in this inferno. The people are getting what they voted for – if they didn’t want what they’ve been voting for, they would have left already.
Going to be hard with all that tax revenue that will be lost.
They are already flooding Arizona. Hope all those folks have seen the light and know what caused the problem,
since they mostly vote blue, let them move to Washington , Illinois, Maryland, New York etc.
While I feel so sorry for all these people who have lost everything, please do not come to Austin. There are so many people here, it’s unbelievable. Traffic is so bad it takes 15 minutes to go 5 miles, plus rude belligerent drivers. Plus Lake Travis that serves us for water is only 30% full. I don’t know how many more we can take in. I live in the hill country and all the beautiful hills are now covered with houses and mansions. It’s actually looking just like LA. And with the drought we’ve been experiencing the last 5 years, this LA tragedy could be us.

I feel confident that he will once again do emergency no-bid contracts with sizable kickbacks to him and his family.
Replay of Lahaina. Stage pre-set for a fire to burn out of control in a place designated to become a smart-city.
I think they don’t care that it is obvious now. Whadda ya gonna do ‘bout it, peasants?
Those in other designated smart cities beware.
Can you share the list? Source?
There are lists. But here is info on LA
https://ita.lacity.gov/smartla2028
“In 2019, the City of Los Angeles Information Technology Agency (ITA) convened its Smart City Committee, composed of 24 departments and elected officials. While Los Angeles had become a civic technology leader (winning #1 U.S. Digital City award for three straight years), the exponential growth of new technologies and increasing public expectations requires new levels of coordination to realize our smart city vision. “

Here’s a list. Not sure if it is the list: https://www.digi.com/blog/post/smart-cities-in-the-us-examples
Agreed
Just like the prime property in Hawaii? All going to be bought and redeveloped for the “haves”. Heck with all the little “have nots”.
winds are picking up
so another group of WEF paid Arsonists are heading out.
Newsome’s political career going up in smoke…
One can only hope.
You can only hope. Afterall, kamala lost the popular vote by only about 2.3M votes. A shift of about 120,000 votes proportioned in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin from Trump to harris and guess who wins the White House with 270 electoral votes? You got it, the cackler. The fact that she could get this close is unnerving. It also says something about our country and it’s not positive. Old newscum would be a more formidable candidate than her as he can BS much better and not cackle.
And how much cheating was involved in her numbers?
All but 2.
Mr. and Mrs. Emhoff voted for Kamala, and I wonder if the Mr. really voted for her.
We could have had Karen Bass…apparently Biden was having her vetted for VP…per an article from Daily Mail earlier today, a repost from 2020.
I believe she lost the popular vote by about 2.3M ballots, and at least 15 or more millions votes.
Has that ever stopped them before?
Newsome’s political career seems like its going along according to plans
and is in no threat of ending.
It’s interesting to see that you can defend your own home with a garden hose. Just go out and put out the small fires on the house and bushes. I have seen multiple stories over multiple fires over the years of homeowners that do exactly that.
Once in CA driving back to the base I stopped to tell someone their barn was on fire.
I found myself on the roof of their house with a hose, then it dawned on me that maybe I better cool that propane tank below me . . .
Fire is spooky scary.
Apparently one LA homeowner tried to do that. His body was found next to his house, hose still in his hand.
Are you for real?
With those flames, you’d be better off turning that hose on yourself.
A freaking hose?
Hey, I’ve got a wall of fire coming at me.
Better get the hose, pronto!
A hose is for when your backyard bonfire gets too big.
There was no hose that would stop this.
Remember Napa?
Or the Almeda in Southern Oregon?
A freaking hose!
US military has substantial firefighter capability that no one mentions and is not being mobilized
Not to mention simple organized competence and manpower that could amplify all emergency efforts.
And all that destruction visible in Malibu right on the beach front with all that water a stone’s throw away. I flew as a Flight Nurse on Air Force C-130s for years. The workhorse of the military. A wonderful plane. Capable of low-level flying just above treetops. Why weren’t the military activated with their capabilities? The members I flew with would have been ready and willing to help at a moment’s notice.
Because it was intentional.
Agree with this conclusion completely. Whether by Amarchists, Gaiaians, Greenies or Globalists the fires are intentional.
Because C 130s Cant fly at tree top level and drop fire retardant in high winds.
Nor can other planes and aircraft.
Fire fighting and other emergency Aircraft are usually grounded until the wind drops to a safe velocity.
Everybody is crying. Where’s the military?
But the fact is. Our military is not Superman. They cant do anything that is not being already done. They can only help.
Better late than never.
MAFFS-Equipped C-130s Join the Fight Against Raging Los Angeles Fires
January 10, 2025
https://theaviationist.com/2025/01/10/maffs-equipped-c-130s-los-angeles-fires/
The U.S. Northern Command activated eight of its C-130 aircraft equipped with MAFFS (Modular Aerial Fire Fighting Systems) on Jan. 10, 2025 to help fight the raging fires in the Los Angeles area, and some of the aircraft are already at work. All the aircraft are expected to be operational over the disaster zone by Jan. 12, NORTHCOM said. Personnel would relocate from their home bases to the Channel Islands in Southern California.
If trump can clean up all this crap thrown his way and the important stuff he deserves to be on Rushmore.
He already deserves to be put on Mount Rushmore. Take a moment to consider all that he has already uncovered and done and the specifics he has outlined for the next four years.
Remember his rally speeches about where he wanted to clean up the filthy cities…? Buildings included…and that is what he does best…build…
I think he is planning for fixing California…
Carve his face on HalfDome….
Gov. Gavin Newsom and LA Mayor are ultimately responsible.
Karen Bass appointed Norm Eisen as ethics advisor to oversee the repair of the reservoir in Pacific Palisades. He did his job and saw that the reservoir was not repaired depriving Pacific Palisades of water to fight the devastating wildfires.
the mockers….
Amazing Grace, amazing video.
Hollywood mocks God, and Ray Comfort, a man whom God has given great gifts of discipleship, witnessed to people who had escaped the fires of Los Angeles (city of the angels??) and led them to the true and living Lord.
Love my new-in-the-Lord brother, Mark, at the end of the video.
Thank you for posting such a wonderful, tearful, video.
This video moved me so much. Please let it be so, that their lives are transformed.
I hate to say this, but there is so much Godlessness in the world.
Pray for the conversion of people – turn back to God. Pray this prayer:
‘Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner,’
We are lucky the fatalities are not worse then they are.
I wonder how many missing persons reports law enforcement has taken in the last few days.
I keep hearing that the numbers will go up and cadaver dogs will be sent into the areas.
They must suspect what percent of the reported missing people are not going to be found alive.
By the time it’s all over, CA will be fully “Trump Proofed.” /s
Just read this on Military_Observer Telegram channel – from @new_militarycolumnist channel:
“According to Ukrainian resources, 8 mansions belonging to high-ranking Ukrainian military burned down during large-scale fires in Los Angeles.
The total value of this property reaches $90 million, and it was purchased with money allocated by the West as part of financial assistance to Kiev after the outbreak of the war.”
1) Multiple fires started simultaneously when the winds had been predicted to be very high.
2) The water resources were extremely limited due to political malfeasance and poor, or intentionally negligent, planning.
3) The State and local government officials in charge only had priorities for political reasons, and had no priorities for protecting and serving the citizens.
4) Insurance companies had just cancelled a huge amount of policies in those areas.
5) Budget cuts had just been made to divert money away from fire resources, and more cuts had already been announced.
6) Fire departments had significant equipment shortages and manpower shortages (oops I should have said PERSONPOWER shortages).
Maybe I have a somewhat harder heart, but those people who vote for the demorats out of blind loyalty or stupidity get what they voted for and deserve. LA has had ‘rat mayors for the last 23+ years. If you cannot see what that party’s politicians are obsessed with, DEI, illegal immigration, green new raw deal, eliminating gas appliances, eliminating gas/diesel cars/trucks, eliminating reliable power generation, etc. you are an ignorant voter and should stay home.
I’m with you, fish. If those very people didn’t like what they were voting for (and getting), they’d have left already.
Don’t forget “Reparations”
As Mom used to say: “You made your bed…now lie in it!”
Did you know that over a decade ago, Californians overwhelmingly voted for a bond to create new water storage facilities specifically for drought and fighting fires?
Unfortunately, the text of the bill included a small phrase that such facilities be built only for the good of the environment. Not for humans, not for the good of the state, but for the good of the environment. Only.
Over a decade later and not one single facility has been started or even planned. Why? Because the judges don’t know how to interpret “for the good of the environment” and any project that is a result of this bill will be subjected to intense and unremitting LAWFARE by environmental groups.
Don’t blame the voters and tell them that now they have to suffer. They voted for water. But the writers of the prop succumbed to the shakedown artists that call themselves environmentalists.
The LA city council should pass a climate change resolution demanding the winds to stop. Newsome can then issue and executive order expressing the support and allyship of state government agencies.
we received an immediate evacuation order text a couple days ago which turned out to be a false alarm
really freaked out the wifey
gotta confess that watching my bride running around the house doing her best chicken little impression was beyond hilarious
the closest fires are about 15 miles from our area, so, safe for now
prayers for the less fortunate…
Newsome ACCOUNTABLE.
Bass ACCOUNTABLE
LIBERAL DEMS ACCOUNTABLE in Calif
HOLD THEM ALL ACCOUNTABLE.
Western NC destroyed and MANY still unhoused or $$$ provided. OFFERED $750.
Calif, b/c of DEMS will have 100% reimbursement.
THEY VOTED FOR THIS…sorry, I can’t be too emphatic.
THEY’VE VOTED for this for YEARS and YEARS.
HOLLYWOOD ELITES are whining and crying. Cry me a river. I don’t give a damn.
WHEN Calif decides to vote diff; then I will have some compassion.
Otherwise, you VOTED for this.
God works in mysterious ways. That place is nothing but hedonism and every other ism you can think of. I feel bad for our fellow Americans and I pray for them and I pray for the enemies out there who have done this to them. But god is controlling all of this. “ The lord give and the lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the lord.”.
fun fact
voting doesn’t exist in california, and hasn’t for quite some time
coming to your state soon
even if you reside in texas
”Collective” judgement?
“Collective” punishment?
😡 🤬 😡 No.
For better or worse…..
California is still part of MY country 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

It was a man made fire, it could of all been prevented. Gavin needs to be held accountable for this horrific event. I can’t wait for our borders to be protected..
What’s been sorely lacking in this country is accountability and consequences. Until there is actual punishment, there will always be a revolving door of evildoers.
“Today there’s one less fire fighting plane in the air after a super scooper was struck by what the FBI’s investigating as a civilian drone strike.”

Suspicious cat remains suspicious
The person who holds the responsibility for these fires, in my opinion, is none other than Biden. He’s allowed that state to be filled with the cream of devious intent. Newsome kept the lights burning and many who are now losing their homes, have paid to have it done.
I have to say the resemblance to the Maui fire is striking. High winds, no known reason for the fire, insurance dropped prior to the fire, extremely high net worth individuals who are interested in the real estate. I wonder if the Chicoms have a hand in this. Nothing like destroying the infrastructure which supports the main port in the USA, Long Beach. It opens up the opportunity to buy up real estate on the cheap for the “new residents”. Since both the Mayor and the Governor are outright Marxists and the Governor is in the pocket of the Chicoms, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility that this was done deliberately. After all, there have been at least 100,000 Chinese coming across the border at San Ysidro in the last four years, possibly more. Sound crazy? IDK, if you’re China trying to weaken the USA through 5G Warfare, this is a good way to do it.
All planned. They are demons.
insurance dropped prior to the fire
got a link to substantiate that in the case of Maui?
no known reason for the fire
In Lahaina, Maui, there’s video of downed power lines and a grass fire that they sparked
Firemen extinguished the grass fire, sat on it for 2 hours, then took off for the other side of the island to fight fires there
It’s thought that the grass fire flared up again from embers in the soil
I think a failed wooden electric/telephone pole was associated with the downed power lines, there are photos of it
Maui Fire Chief Gives Detailed Defense Of Firefighters Battling Lahaina Blaze
You’re correct. There was no mass drop of insurance prior to the fire, just a fight over who will be paid and how.
IRT the start of the fire, yes initially they had a downed powerline which started a fire and the firefighters had extinguished it and monitored it for five hours or so. There is speculation that there was a reflash of that fire, but no definitive proof that it was, and HECO said that power was de-energized from all lines in the area after this fire was started, so more powerline induced fires were likely not involved. Lots of questions; no definitive proof.
Ans you better believe that Gavin will be raising the taxes on all those homes that no longer exist.
They were doing that in NC…
Look at the house seen in the last few seconds of the Malibu video above.
Does it look odd to you, especially after being in a major fire?
Looks like the roof was cut in half from above, the wood pylons on the ocean side aren’t burned, or the house above those pylons. And the darkened side of the house is still there, along with the wood deck on the back.
But something happened to that house to make both sides tip towards the middle, which seems odd with the lack of damage to what remains of the house.
are you talking about the still-standing house in the far background or the totally demolished house in the foreground where the brick fireplace is?
At 48 seconds the house in the far background.
I believe 2 things are going to happen now. First, I strongly believe elections are going to be cleaned up, in time for 2026 midterms. Second, the liberals who rule this state will finally be held accountable for there willful incompetence and intentional malfeasance. One thing I have noticed about liberals is there principles, values, and opinions change dramatically when it negatively impacts them. The sunlight on LA pushing DEI over safety and the lack of water, is going to massively swing the pendulum in California. My 2 cents..
“First, I strongly believe elections are going to be cleaned up, in time for 2026 midterms” –
True the Vote ( https://truethevote.org ) has a program called IV3 ( https://www.iv3.us ). I think the IV stands for “Ineligible Voters”.
IV3 lets you help them find ineligible voters. I need to check it out, and perhaps help them find dead voters, multiple voters, and ineligible voters. That might make a difference in the next election.
Here’s hoping!
Eyeroll….
11%? Really??
Not 10%? Not 12%?
They are making stuff up – the reality is – it’s still out of control.
That’s absurd to say 11%.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Lie_with_Statistics
They are referencing perimeter lines that are burned out. Likely Malibu beachfront boardered by pacific. They are not taking about actual fire itself.
DEI at work tring to put out fires but is having to fight the flames using special pronouns locals don’t understand. The burning continues.😳
Palisades Fire reaches Brentwood (live)
Just heard in the live broadcast: most of SoCal has just returned into red flag warning (high winds and low humidity) status most likely THROUGH NEXT WEDNESDAY. Not a widespread wind storm as previously, but sporadic and erratic high winds which can quickly change directions which is in some ways worse.
All that farmland?
In Hawaii, we don’t wait for natural disasters like in L.A., we make our own
https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/video/2025/01/01/new-details-emerge-deadly-fireworks-explosion-aliamanu/
When they broadcast high winds coming, it’s an alarm clock for the leftist to get their torches ready.
And they let this guy go because it’s California and that is their “justice” system.
The state will NEVER be fixed when you have people in charge that allow the citizens to arrest someone with a blowtorch (obviously not using it to make creme brule) in Santa Ana wind conditions………..and then let him go.
And people who are worried about looters? The police and the justice system in CA WILL. DO. NOTHING.
You’re on your own.
Did they check for his Antifa membership?
No, but they offer one.
Or maybe, the guy and letting him go were all an act in the CA fires theater, to drive more psyop.
While everyone fixates on the theater, the seismic movement toward perdition continues, spearheaded by the growing sovereign debt Juggernaut accelerating toward the WWIII ruse, a combination being prepared to set off the “controlled demolition” of the deindustrialized US constrained by debt and controlled by Russia’s ally China controlling key supply chains.
Pay no attention to the Juggernaut or the ruse, a week or two from now another play will start in the theater, after a brief intermission. Restrooms on the right, concessions in the lobby.
Maybe they will use this as an excuse to have a national infrastructure project, like the WPA.
Just imagine, trillions of dollars sloshing around building a few useful things, along with lots of grift….
Remember the Getty Fire, from a few years ago? All the same areas (Brentwood, Bel Air) are back under either mandatory evacuation or fire warning. For anyone familiar with the area, evacuation orders are now in place for much of Brentwood, north of the VA Medical Center grounds, and west of the 405 Freeway, all the way up Sepulveda Pass and down the other side, into Encino and down toward Ventura Blvd.
They KNOW these areas burst into flames when there are high winds. No surprise. And for regular events like this, there should have been adequate preparation. The fact that there isn’t is a combination of factors. Believe it or not, Democrat Jerry Brown (Governor Moonbeam) actually tried to get a major water storage project done for the state. It was his dad, Pat Brown, that set up so much of the original infrastructure. However, Pat Brown did not have to deal with the organizations that his son had to deal with – shakedown artists from the environmental orgs who stopped Jerry every step of the way.
Environmentalists were once called watermelons: green on the outside but red on the inside. Communism by other means. Their principal weapon is lawfare.
Joe Joe: Indeed, most of us in LA have seen fires happen every year, in the exact same locations. I have seen it before, even in the Palisades, with my own eyes, live, and in person. The difference, this time, was extraordinarly high winds and, it appears, a slower than necessary response, along with lack of water pressure where it was needed–due to an empty reservoir.
Nothing you have said negates the longstanding issues that produced this. Yes, very high winds. But it’s not like they don’t know that this is a possibility. Yes, empty reservoir – how did that happen? Yes, slow response. Why? They knew the forecasts.
I am now in northern Virginia. We had a big snowstorm come through last Monday. The forecasts started a week before the storm, the salt trucks were out the day before the storm, the snowplows were out all day Monday and Tuesday. Excellent preparation and execution. I was impressed. People were told to stay off the roads and they did. The point is that everything was ready to go. No one cried that the snowplows were broken or that they didn’t have enough salt to cover the major roads.
Los Angeles is a big metro area. Like snow in Virginia, high winds are part of the SoCal weather system and the places they tend to cause fires are well known. Fire, of course, is much more volatile and unpredictable once it starts. I’m not saying that fire and snow are the same deal. They aren’t. But preparation SHOULD be the same level of efficiency. Water storage, forest management, physical infrastructure are long term projects. But on the short term, they should have prepared for their response. Check the damned fire hydrants to see that they are in working order and not broken. Prepare for what to do when the electricity must be shut off and alternate ways of fighting the fire are needed. Have some people going around doing fire checks in areas near the canyons. Have the police be on alert for potential arsonists, homeless encampments, etc. Tell the public to be on watch – if you see something, say something. And when you find people with lighters in dry, windy canyons for no apparent reason, DETAIN them. We know where the dangers come from. Even without proper infrastructure on the long term, there are ways to prepare on the short term.
Yeah, there’s some venting in here. I just can’t believe this shit.
Is anone interested in joining a class action lawsuit against California for all the CO2 pollution that their state is subjecting us to?
(No, I’m not serious, but still…)
If DoJ can force police departments to enter into consent decrees and subect them to close DoJ supervision, maybe it’s time the Department of the Interior crawl up California’s butt and start managing their shitshow.
Actually, that could be interesting. Use Lawfare against the right people.
I’m next door in southern Nevada. I’m in.
Private investigator George Webb and his team have uncovered a
“LIVE EXERCISE” by Deep Seek Labs.
“Deep Seek and Deep Seek Labs are mysterious and opaque because they are based in China and don’t have to bother about the SEC looking into their financial statements. But a foreign actor like China conducting a “fire study” in the wealthier neighborhoods of Los Angeles should give us pause.”

It would be more useful to have a brief summary.
Newsom better keep a few miles away from this inferno or his hair gel will catch fire.
Democrat politicians have systemically destroyed California.
Corporate Business & people are fleeing Woke California.
it’s not just the politicians. It is LAWFARE by special interest groups like the environmentalist organizations. This video is a MUST WATCH. You can see how the people of California overwhelmingly voted for more water storage in a statewide proposition, but how a small edit in the prop text requires that any water storage project be built only to serve the environment. Judges don’t know how to interpret this and there is a fear of endless lawfare against any statewide project. This prop was passed over a decade ago and nothing has been done on it because of this little bit of text.
The video below also describes a local project, funded by a county, that was able to be implemented but only after paying off a bunch of environmental groups. Hear what they had to promise these shakedown artists in order to get a necessary storage facility built:
Assuming for the moment that this is intentional, what would the purpose be?
Looks like a money laundring land grab to me.
Watch who gets to buy up the land. Right now, everyone is talking about rebuilding, but it is early days. I wonder how much that charred land will be discounted and who will be given the opportunity to take advantage of the discount.
Right now there are people in LA asking: Yeah, well what about the smelt? Are they OK?
I have also heard that many of those affected had their home insurance cancelled within the last few months. And that many of the hotels or motels that people have tried to go to are full….with migrants and ‘regular’ homeless
How a ‘warrior’ brain surgeon saved his Malibu street from wildfires and looters
Chester Griffiths led his son and his neighbour in a marathon stand-off against flames and criminals under hail of burning debris
Inspirational. Great courage and being prepared, knowing it might happen one day when no one else can help you.
It was a scenario the 62-year-old had been preparing for years: he had done the training, sourced the fire hoses, and briefed his son and next-door neighbour about the course of action.

As some of you know, my girlfriend and I moved to Virginia last summer. We had lived in San Diego, but before that we lived in LA, specifically in the Glendale area, which is right next to Pasadena. Watching the local footage is devastating for us. We still have friends out there and have been checking on them. Some were in the Pasadena area and have been evacuated. Some are in Glendale and watching and waiting. I actually spent some time in Altadena with friends in the area years ago, and it’s a nice middle-class area with a great deal of natural beauty. It’s been devastating watching the destruction from here.
There is a temptation to write off these victims because of the politics of the state. Yes, the state government is a disaster. And the LA mayor, Karen Bass, is a lifelong leftie politician who spent years in the state assembly pushing bills that helped to drive spending. It is no surprise to me that she has nothing to say. She is incapable of governing, only of activism. She’s great at smearing conservatives but is out of her depth in the current situation. It is simply beyond her skill set, which is, admittedly, limited.
But the real issue is at the state level. For many years, the forest management has been abysmal. There is a ton of dry brush that has not been dealt with. And of course, there is the water situation that most of you all know about. The state is culpable in many ways for many different things. They KNOW that Southern California is desert, that it is vulnerable to high winds and fires. It is no secret. The Malibu/Palisades area is ALWAYS vulnerable to fires and to the subsequent mudslides when the rain washes homes on weakened terrain down hills or into the sea. They KNOW this. They also know that the San Gabriel Valley (Altadena area) is vulnerable. Here again, not a surprise. There should ALWAYS be resources ready. They know this too.
Why they weren’t ready is anyone’s guess, but much of the blame lies in Sacramento in the state house. I urge people to watch the Epoch Times series “California Insider” on YouTube. There is a lot of great information on what the governing issues are. In the meantime, I am going to be checking on friends in the area. By the way, not all Californians are Democrats. One Republican friend of ours is just below Encino, bag packed, waiting to see if her neighborhood is the next one evacuated. She is having a hard time breathing. We told her to get out and we will pick up the tab for a hotel in Orange County.
But regardless, pray for these people. Pray also for some changes in state government.
👊 👍 👍 👍
Great post.
I refuse to lump all Californians in the
same “collective judgement” mindset
that many have.
Prayers for your friends.🙏🙏
Thank you. The video is really worth the watch, too.
Quick note: if you go to 18:45 on the video and listen for a few minutes, you can hear how the environmental organizations prevent water from being stored. The citizens of California voted overwhelmingly for a water storage system a decade or so ago. The problem is there was some small print about the storage system having to “serve the environment”. Humans are not part of the environment. As a result, no water storage facility has been able to be built because if the environmentalists don’t think that “the environment” is being served, they will use LAWFARE to keep water projects tied up in court for years.
Brett Barbre mentions a local project that DID get built in Orange County. To get this local project done, all the environmentalist orgs had to be “paid off” in various ways. According to Barbre, it added 30% to the cost of the project. Environmental orgs are nothing but shakedown artists.
My father lived in Burbank. I went to college in Eagle Rock (Pasadena Area). I grew up in Newhall. My still best friend of 63 years grew up in Van Nuys. The first home my parents bought was in Arleta.
I have so many memories of when CA was a beautiful, middle class, safe place to raise a family. My friend and I took the municipal buses all of the way from Van Nuys to Santa Monica at the age of 15 back when it was safe, clean, and full of regular people.
I used to go up and down the Pacific Coast Hwy and end up in Malibu.
Of course, that CA has long disappeared. But it is still very sad because I remember how it used to be and I think about what the people who stayed must be suffering through.
I lived there during the 1971 (72?) earthquake which was life shattering. I had nightmares for years after that which was nothing compared to the trauma that everyone, especially children, are currently experiencing.
Van Nuys used to be very nice. I remember there were some nice homes up there. The 94 earthquake created some issues and apartment buildings in the Valley took in some sketchy folks. The gang problem got pretty bad in the Valley then too.
Even so, Glendale was decent, and Burbank was still nice. Always wanted to get up to La Canada, but those places were way out of my price range. God knows what will happen now. I heard that some opportunists are contacting the victims and are offering them peanuts for their burned homes. There are always bottom feeders in these situations.
This is going to bankrupt the state of California. Not only did their incompetence with water management cause this to be so bad(which likely gets them sued into oblivion) but they also ran the insurance companies out of the area. So most of these houses are either A) uninsured and likely to default on their mortgages or B) the state government is the party that has to pay out for the insurance claim. The back end of this real life catastrophe is financial ruin for the state of California’s government. I really hope we can use this as leverage to break that state up into smaller more manageable pieces. Their incompetence here is really impressive in all the wrong ways.
I hope the people in near LA can get hold of either air filter machines, or at least fans and air filters, to make Comparetto cubes (aka Corsi–Rosenthal Boxes).
I’ve made two Comparetto cubes, from Filtrete MERV 11 “Odor Reduction” pleated air filters. My Comparetto cubes don’t filter the air as well as a HEPA filter machine (although I think my Comparetto cubes blow more air through them), but they’re better than nothing.

“This was supposed to be the water to put out the Palisades fire.” The FP’s Austyn Jeffs visits the Santa Ynez Reservoir that has reportedly been empty since February 2024.
“a report from The Wall Street Journal unveiled Friday highlighted how Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is the only major utility company in California without an intentional shut-off protocol, known as a “Public Safety Power Shut Off” procedure. The protocol lays out plans for how to proactively shut down certain electricity lines during dangerous windstorms and limit the impact to public safety.”
I can see from the photos on the web page of the professional photographer whose commercially operated drone was in a restricted area and hit and grounded one of the water drop aircraft that he/she/it is a major Harris/Walz fan based upon their campaign photos found there.
Thus, a MORON SQUARED.
Civil Penalties: The FAA can impose civil fines for violations of Part 107 regulations, including unauthorized flights, failure to register a drone, or operating in restricted airspace. Fines can range from $1,000 for minor infractions to $27,500 for more serious violations.
Criminal Penalties: In cases of willful or reckless disregard for safety, criminal penalties may apply. These can include fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment for up to three years.
Certificate Action: The FAA has the authority to suspend or revoke a Remote Pilot Certificate if an operator is found to be in violation of regulations. This can impact an operator’s ability to legally conduct commercial drone operations.
Can’t watch the final video of the oceanfront destruction without wanting to name it “Mother Nature Strikes Back”.
