Delivering a short ruling [pdf here], the Supreme Court has refused to intercede in the sentencing of President Trump in the Manhattan ‘hush money’ case. The court apparently is providing Judge Merchan the opportunity to correct his prior rulings which are likely to be overturned on appeal. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for Friday, January 10.e
Two of the high court’s Republican appointees, Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett, joined the court’s three Democratic appointees to turn down Trump’s last-ditch attempt to avert the sentencing.

Last summer, the high court ruled presidents were immune from criminal prosecution for some official acts. The high court’s brief order did not get into those issues in detail, but said Trump’s complaints of errors at his trial “can be addressed in the ordinary course on appeal.”
The decisive vote to allow the charade in New York to continue against President Trump is the same decisive vote that stopped SCOTUS review of the 2020 election: Barrett. As predicted, she is the 2nd coming of Roberts, not Scalia.
Some of us spoke out against this terrible pick at the time, and were bashed for it, and what I was predicting would happen has happened.
“She’s going to overturn Roe v. Wade” was the slogan of the day, and why think for yourself if there’s a slogan handy?
Robert warned about her the day she was nominated. Everything he said she was about has proven to be true.

I was totally against her appointment–and fellow Catholics were shocked. I warned at the time that she would be a disaster.
I wanted and still want William Pryor of Alabama.
The female members of the court don’t seem to understand the law at all. Since when do things like the judge isn’t going to put him in jail even a factor in the decision. It makes no sense to me. The point isn’t whether he is going to jail it is whether the whole situation is legal and valid. I am opposed to any more females on the court…if one resigns or dies please replace with a man. And no, Roberts is not a man. He has single-handedly destroyed the reputation of the court.

Barrett looked like a leftist. Anybody else notice that. I remember wondering “why is Trump nominating a leftist for Supreme Court.”
The way she moved and talked didn’t feel right to me. Am I the only one who intuitively thought and felt that. Very liberal sounding.
No you are not the only one. I had her number from the beginning. People asked me and I told them but no one seemed to agree.

US Supreme Court judges should not have children under the age of 21 and living at home. In my opinion Barrett has been compromised because she has small children. There are rumors that Roberts is compromised either because he might be on Epstein’s list or there was some problem or shenanigans with the adoption of his children. Perhaps Roberts also influences Barrett.
I suspect Barrett likes and follows the edicts of this current so-called Pope and that explains much of this in my opinion.

Now that Trump has received the “sentence” of unconditional discharge. Does that mean that the GAG order is removed?

Mark Levin called out both Roberts & Barrett in his WABC radio show tonight.
Levin claims that Barret is turning into retired Justice Kennedy. She likes the DC scene & fears any negative press from the NY Times.
Roberts too was called out by Levin. Levin claims that while Roberts will defend positions that he believes in, that he is malleable when it comes to other issues where he has no opionion.
We only needed 1 of these 2 buffons to join with the other 4 originalists & they would have taken Trump’s case.
Levin also claims that Barretr & Roberts were “snookered” into their decisions by believing that there was no punishment that Merchan was going to inflict on Trump. Levin points out that by declining to take the case, the Supremes essentially blew a chance to defend the Constitution by throwing out the case & verdict.
Levin points out that this case is an example of a state judicial system overstepping its bounds by taking on a Federal case with Federal issues & evidence. Barret & Roberts squandered the Supremes opportunity to intervene & Trump will now appeal via the NY State appeal process. Any decision reached on appeal will in fact only pertain to NY & not the country as a whole.
