President-elect Donald Trump, along with former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, arrived at Washington National Cathedral ahead of Jimmy Carter’s funeral. President Trump and President Obama sat next to each other and engaged in extended conversation.
It is interesting to watch the body language and interpersonal dynamics in this video. President Trump shakes hands with Mike Pence. President Obama does not shake Trump or Melania’s hand – but shakes everyone else’s hands. George W Bush walks right past the Trump’s, then slaps Obama in the stomach and shakes hands with everyone else. President Obama and President Trump having lots of laughs. The service was held at the Washington National Cathedral. I looked up information on this “sacred place of worship” and suddenly everything made sense.
The Cathedral is part of the Episcopal Church. The website says it is a place for “all people to pray.” Of course it does. This would explain why:
1. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood were applauded for singing John Lennon’s Atheist Anthem, “Imagine.”
2. So many minions of Satan felt safe to enter the building and sit up front with President Trump and his beautiful wife Melania. I would imagine that if those minions were sitting in an authentic Christian church with a pastor preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, each one of them would have ended up doing their best Linda Blair imitations.
Thanks be to God for protecting the Trumps in the midst of that coven.

When “The Exorcist” came out in 1973 (seems like yesterday lol) I remember how controversial the movie was. There was even talk about giving it an X rating.
The first time I saw the crazy Linda Blair scene-cursing, head spinning, throwing up the green pea soup-I almost lost my lunch. I watched it again a few years ago and just laughed.
I don’t know how I would react if Obama or Pence had done that in the church. It probably wouldn’t be as shocking as when Linda Blair did it in 1973!

When I was 11 years old my then 10 year old sister lost her hearing in a freak accident, one that didn’t hurt her at all, but caused her to lose all her hearing (2% in one ear/11% in the other).
My mom wanted her other 4 daughters to know what my deaf sister was going through, so for a month we could not listen to the radio, record player or watch t.v. with the sound on. Even at 11 years old it was an eye-opening experience, one I used for the rest of my life, watching events with the sound off first to get the real dynamic of what was taking place.
I loved to do it when Donald Trump first announced his bid for the Presidency. By doing that I learned early on that Donald was someone who spoke the truth, which is a rare commodity these days.
I played the funeral clip above one time without the sound, then played part of it again with the sound on and had to turn it off right away. Too much distraction hearing someone else’s thoughts being pummeled on top of mine.
Three things stuck out to me —
Mrs. Pence is obviously deeply hurt (angry, upset, little, mean) for her to not even acknowledge President or Melania Trump by looking at them. Even 30 pieces stood and shook the President’s hand, but Mrs. Pence was having none of it.
Melania is a class act all the way. Even when, to my mind, her husband should have sat on in the isle seat, making sure that she was never left-out of any conversation that was taking place. Not a good look for a husband to turn his back on his wife and start yucking it up with someone else. But that is where Melania held her own, even though she did not look happy, she looked like a good, faithful and stalwart wife to her husband, a man who is always betrayed by others.
The third thing I noticed is that those two rows of people were fidgety, really fidgety, and looked uneasy within themself.
Oh, and a fourth thing, Mrs. Emhoff hates everyone.

Mrs. Pence (Karen, is it?) was never very comfortable as Mrs VP. Mike would probably be better off having lunch alone with some other women just to cheer him up. I forget now who the genius was in the Republican heirarchy who made that call to get Pence as Trump’s veep #1. I couldn’t see around the pillar on the left, but I believe Dan Quayle was sitting there, as I caught sight of Marilyn Q, looking unhappy exactly as I remember her. He was a cheery soul whom I did meet at the Exec Office building back in the early 90s, when I was on a congressional “junket.”

Fascinating story, thanks. I watch movies and dramas with the sound off sometimes, to practice lip-reading and to work out who’s a good actor/actress. The good ones are instantly recognisable, as they slip effortlessly into the role, the mediocre ones look strained, but the bad ones look like actors, destroying the immersion. Sound conceals a lot as our brain has to use precious processing power decoding and analysing the signals, cut it off and the eyes and intuition take over.
Growing up I saw that in my sister.
She had/has a hunger for reading and has a mind full of fanciful things she can make and do. I believe both are due to her hearing loss.
Interesting, why do you practice lip reading?
At 10 years old my sister refused to learn American Sign Language. She said it made people look dumb. So she taught herself how to read lips, and continued on in the same hearing school she attended before losing her hearing. Straight A student at a time you actually had to work for your grades.
She can read just about anyone’s lips, but she needs to spend the first couple minutes just getting used to how they move their lips, mouth and tongue before she fully understands them. Foreign accents are out, as are strong regional dialects.
My sense of Melania is that she’s naturally quite introverted. After what she and her family and this country have had to put up with from the swamp creatures, my guess is that she is even more introverted than usual when she’s around them. She despises them for good reason, would prefer to never interact with them, and since her husband is quite extroverted, he does the bulk of the socializing in situations in which his wife would rather be anywhere else. It’s actually a good arrangement, imo.

Watched most of the ceremony. Overall looked to be a nice ceremony. Unavoidably political in some respects.
I almost fell off the coach laughing, I must admit, at one point, busy doing other stuff I had TV on mute. Unmute – look at the screen and there are Garth Brooks and Carrie Underwood singing John Lennon’s Imagine. Personally, I grew up with and enjoyed much of Lennon’s music. But who was the idiot that approved this? Jimmy Carter was a religious man. Imagine is an anti-God anthem! I am not religious myself – but the deep irony in the staging was unbelievable. Supposedly the tune was one of Carter’s favorites.

It was also great fun speculating who decided to seat Jill and Kamala next to one another.

Maybe the color on my device was off, but PDJT’s tie from his time meeting with the Senators yesterday looked purple to me. Recall back on 12/4/2018 Secret Service delivered notes to former Presidents Bill Clinton, George Bush, Barack Obama and VP biden and even VP Pense by via their wives Hillary Clinton, Jill Biden, Michelle Obama, Laura Bush and Karen Pence. When watching snippet from Carter’s funeral service at the National Cathedral, biden was conspicuously absent from Trump. I saw Kamala avoid Trump. biden’s handlers kept him out of Trump’s proximity. Pense give a Milquetoast weepy hand shake as Trump forced him into the awkward moment. Obama snubbed Trump and Bush made a big deal of snubbing Trump. Then in a flash it hit me…Donald J Trump sent the note. He purposefully had the notes delivered to the wives knowing they would open and read before passing on to their hubby former Pres and former VPs. “We have evidence of your pedophilia, better lawyer up” or something similar was written in the note – that’s why the wives had to see it. Then all hell broke loose on Trump’s head and I think a threat to his family should he proceed. This round, it’s very different. Perhaps just my imagination, but watching the obvious snubs, it was unmistakable there’s much more in the enmity between these folks that mere politics.
Melania wouldn’t speak to any of them. They tried to kill her husband.

A very logical determination. Each could have received a comment of exposure about their husband specific to their ‘crime’ or just a generic one given to all. Yes, correctly stated, it was very personal; hence, the extreme bitterness which goes beyond mere politics. I always thought it was interesting that Carter didn’t receive one, but even though he wasn’t a good president, he did seem to be a good person living by his faith.
