We lost our family farm under Carter’s policies. So did many others. I was in 8th grade when several farmers from our area drove their tractors to DC to protest the foreclosures, along with thousands of others. I watched an auctioneer sell everything we owned. John Cougar Mellencamp sang “Rain on the Scarecrow” about those events. (He is an idiot now). So many people don’t remember it, but as I started to understand politics, I realized the same things were happening then that are happening now. I hate hearing people talk about what a godly man Carter was. If he knew what he was doing, he most certainly was not. Otherwise, he was just dumber than a box of rocks, or perhaps just another puppet like Biden.
President Trump stated at the press conference earlier that President Carter was a good man. I love how POTUS can be so gracious and say that he was a good man while we all understand that he was a TERRIBLE president.

A decade ago, I was at the funeral for a very successful Houston businessman whom I personally knew to be a lying scheming criminal with little or no morals.: It’s just business you know… When the pastor of a very large church praised him for being such a Godly man of faith, I wondered if I had enough distance between me and the lightning bolt that was sure to come.
Be honest. We are known by the fruit we bear, and as a God Fearing Christian, Carter is not someone I want to emulate. He was more of a compartmentalized Christian to me.
I have refrained from making any comments on Carter since his passing. I have views certainly.
But I also have motes in my own eyes.
Though I am not averse to commenting on actions which have left their mark on this world for evil or good, for better or in his case much worse, I leave the judging up to the One who will be judging me.

Donald Trump didn’t stand up as Obama approached him- which sends a clear hands off message, Obama then moved onto Pence and Gore who were moving towards standing up and extending hands..
So to my mind, it was Trump that made his feelings immediately clear by not standing as a former President approached him.. like “Don’t even go there buddy” said Trump as he chose to remain seated.
It’s good though that they then got chatty.. you talk about mixed messages- right?

My guess, Melania’s loving husband notices she is very uncomfortable and asks her if she is ok and what he can do for her. Those two love and respect each other dearly.
