I believe President Trump’s stance has always been he supports H1B as originally intended, for temporary critical thinking. I think if you check the record you’ll find he’s aware of the abuses and intends to correct them – exactly what Elon was parroting after he obviously got a little talking to. That’s where you get the media narrative that he was against H1B visas in his first term because he reformed the program. Of course they don’t tell you the details because that wouldn’t hurt Trump. If you limit our needs to truly world changing talent, recognize that there aren’t more than 3 to 5 million of those people in the whole world . For those upset with the h1b1 controversy — I remember Trump saying in his first campaign that he wanted to open our door to immigrants who were the best, most qualified, etc. But h1b1 sounds terrible and i hope Trump will end the program.

When American wages are being intentionally depressed how does the alleged talent shortage factor in? It isn’t coincidence that mass layoffs of American employees by the same companies that cash in on the H-1B system. In 2022 alone, those top 30 H-1B employers hired more than 34,000 new H-1B workers while laying off or (would) “imminently” lay off “at least 85,000 workers in 2022 and the first quarter of 2023.”
Cheap labor has always been the end- result (of H-1B) – of supply and demand. As reported by Bloomberg, one global executive for Cognizant (staffing firm) said the company’s “preference for Indian H-1B workers is intrinsic to its outsourcing business model because they are almost the cheapest labor option.” A Vice President for Cognizant, a staffingfirm that has sourced tens of thousands of H-1B visa holders to tech firms and other industries (and which abuses the H-1B system to replace its own workers), recently “admitted that visa workers are not more ‘skilled’ than U.S.
workers.”
Cognizant was also held liable by a jury that they intentionally discriminated against non- South Asian and non-Indian employees for whom it sponsored H-1B visas. This isn’t just a one-off for Cognizant; back in 2020, the EEOC found the company discriminated against a “nationwide class of non-Indian employees on the basis of race and national origin.” And in 2018, an internal Cognizant report documented that H-1B holders were the beneficiary of racial disparities in rates of “involuntary terminations.” (That’s just the tip of the corporate misconduct regarding the H-1B program. There’s a ton out there).
At trial – one Cognizant executive’s text was admitted as evidence: “An open secret: we hired H1s for the longest because they were cheaper labor that would relocate anywhere.”
Mega-corporations abuse of the system will, (if not already) see the demise of H-1B.
The effect of holding down wages (and providing less of an incentive for Americans to enter
certain professions) has been known since the start.
PDJT Trump has consistently champion for the middle class, small businesses and immigrants who come in through legal process. There will be no need for H1-B when legal immigrants who are skilled workers get paid the same wages for the same work. Why is there even consideration for H-1B in this day and age?
End H-1B and the victimization of the American middle class. Keep the O-1 visa for those individuals with extraordinary achievements or abilities – (these aren’t cheap labor).

I volunteer in several groups that are conservative and focus on various aspects of elections and right now over 70 percent of my peers are very angry. So angry they have indicated plans to stop helping and not vote in 2026.
That may be what they say now, however, in political terms, 2026 is 2 years away and much can and will occur between now and then.
Perhaps, those conservative and focus groups should wait until President Trump is in the White House and Congress has come to order before they just walk away from MAGA and…… go where???

Wow! All these comments make me glad we went to bed early last night and missed the “discussions”. The best comment was about President Trump photobombing pictures of Melania!
I’m in tech and have been replaced once by the H1B program. I’m now a tech hiring manager and I see the abuses. My opinion is that there is nothing wrong with the program as established. But like most government programs, there has been no enforcement and, as usual, people have taken advantage of it. The only reform necessary is to make sure every H1B is paid the same or higher than the current rate for an American worker. That kills the incentive for businessmen who are ALWAYS looking for a loophole to hire H1B’s to displace American workers. And, in my opinion, the best way to enforce it is to tariff every H1B being brought into the U.S. They are a commodity like wine from France or maple syrup from Canada. This is just another opportunity for President Trump to level the playing field. It is NOT a reason to stifle the work we want Elon and Vivek to do for us.
If someone wants to hire a foreigner they will pay the higher wage. That doesn’t put Americans to work. I propose for every foreigner hired the company has to hire 13 American workers in the same class. That’s 13 to 1 ratio. That guarantees Americans jobs.

If you limit our needs to truly world changing talent, recognize that there aren’t more than 3 to 5 million of those people in the whole world . POTUS Trump has always said we needed to get back to merit based hiring and now that some of the issues for some companies has been exposed, he will add that to his personal analysis. But I believe we are also seeing some “Art of the Deal” moves going on (very public about Musk joining his NYE party) and there are higher, more pressing priorities for all Americans like jump starting the economy again.

That’s where you get the media narrative that he was against H1B visas in his first term because he reformed the program. Of course they don’t tell you the details because that wouldn’t hurt Trump. In both the Real World and in Screen World BEWARE when the first word used is “Sorry”.
Why?
ts usually what I call a word spell the user hopes will protect him/her from expected, and usually warranted, blowback feedback.
In other words, typically starting with the word ” Sorry” === NOT Sorry.
Instead, “Sorry” == a command to STFU rather then responding, no matter what is said next.
Non compliants who DO respond will then usually be shamed with “OMG I told you before I started speaking that I was ” Sorry” but you’re still jumping on me for what I said? ” or other emotionally manipulative blah blah.
Metaphorically speaking, carry tissues, be Light Heartedly non compliant and learn to enjoy the wahhhs

Trump has said so much on so many subjects to so many outlets that don’t cut and paste with biased talking points in between to be used by their Trump hating, taught to lie by omission viewers, that It’s kinda obvious who still watches the mainstream media, then tries to pretend they have always been a Trump supporter to insert their filtered narrative and views into the convo seemingly for support, but counting it as a win if they manage to inflame and irritate those who have left the cozy NBC, CNN, Yahoo News, even most of Fox News, bubble world they are too scared, deluded or warped to leave.

Getting duped into believing toxic fantasies are real definitely does cause very real self poisoning feels.

Trump’s not that precise in words all though he always projects that image. The H1B thing is obviously very important because people are finally noticing this. – He’s speaking to the other side of the issue (he’s the President of the United States) with his usual flourishes – many, big, great, best, highest, etc.

For those upset with the h1b1 controversy — I remember Trump saying in his first campaign that he wanted to open our door to immigrants who were the best, most qualified, etc. But h1b1 sounds terrible and i hope Trump will end the program.

It isn’t just American jobs are being taken.
When American wages are being intentionally depressed how does the alleged talent shortage factor in? It isn’t coincidence that mass layoffs of American employees by the same companies that cash in on the H-1B system. In 2022 alone, those top 30 H-1B employers hired more than 34,000 new H-1B workers while laying off or (would) “imminently” lay off “at least 85,000 workers in 2022 and the first quarter of 2023.”
Cheap labor has always been the end- result (of H-1B) – of supply and demand. As reported by Bloomberg, one global executive for Cognizant (staffing firm) said the company’s “preference for Indian H-1B workers is intrinsic to its outsourcing business model because they are almost the cheapest labor option.” A Vice President for Cognizant, a staffingfirm that has sourced tens of thousands of H-1B visa holders to tech firms and other industries (and which abuses the H-1B system to replace its own workers), recently “admitted that visa workers are not more ‘skilled’ than U.S.
workers.”
Cognizant was also held liable by a jury that they intentionally discriminated against non- South Asian and non-Indian employees for whom it sponsored H-1B visas. This isn’t just a one-off for Cognizant; back in 2020, the EEOC found the company discriminated against a “nationwide class of non-Indian employees on the basis of race and national origin.” And in 2018, an internal Cognizant report documented that H-1B holders were the beneficiary of racial disparities in rates of “involuntary terminations.” (That’s just the tip of the corporate misconduct regarding the H-1B program. There’s a ton out there).
At trial – one Cognizant executive’s text was admitted as evidence: “An open secret: we hired H1s for the longest because they were cheaper labor that would relocate anywhere.”
Mega-corporations abuse of the system will, (if not already) see the demise of H-1B.
The effect of holding down wages (and providing less of an incentive for Americans to enter
certain professions) has been known since the start.
PDJT Trump has consistently champion for the middle class, small businesses and immigrants who come in through legal process. There will be no need for H1-B when legal immigrants who are skilled workers get paid the same wages for the same work. Why is there even consideration for H-1B in this day and age?
End H-1B and the victimization of the American middle class. Keep the O-1 visa for those individuals with extraordinary achievements or abilities – (these aren’t cheap labor).

I volunteer in several groups that are conservative and focus on various aspects of elections and right now over 70 percent of my peers are very angry. So angry they have indicated plans to stop helping and not vote in 2026.

That may be what they say now, however, in political terms, 2026 is 2 years away and much can and will occur between now and then.
Perhaps, those conservative and focus groups should wait until President Trump is in the White House and Congress has come to order before they just walk away from MAGA and…… go where???

I’m in tech and have been replaced once by the H1B program. I’m now a tech hiring manager and I see the abuses. My opinion is that there is nothing wrong with the program as established. But like most government programs, there has been no enforcement and, as usual, people have taken advantage of it. The only reform necessary is to make sure every H1B is paid the same or higher than the current rate for an American worker. That kills the incentive for businessmen who are ALWAYS looking for a loophole to hire H1B’s to displace American workers. And, in my opinion, the best way to enforce it is to tariff every H1B being brought into the U.S. They are a commodity like wine from France or maple syrup from Canada. This is just another opportunity for President Trump to level the playing field. It is NOT a reason to stifle the work we want Elon and Vivek to do for us.

If someone wants to hire a foreigner they will pay the higher wage. That doesn’t put Americans to work. I propose for every foreigner hired the company has to hire 13 American workers in the same class. That’s 13 to 1 ratio. That guarantees Americans jobs.
