Newsmax Rob Schmitt gives a good summary of the H1B immigration debate that has caught fire amid the Trump support base.
The initial issue surfaced with the appointment of Sriram Krishnan to serve as Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. [Source] Krishnan has previously advocated for removing all limits on Indian immigrant use of H1B.
Vivek Ramaswamy, David Sacks and Elon Musk came to the immediate defense of their friend and colleague Sriram Krishan, while MAGA Americans started to look very closely at the use of H1B visas. Things rapidly escalated from there.

NFW. Get rid of these clowns
Get rid of their positions; if it aint in the constitution it shouldn’t exist. period.
The more legislation the more divided; Shakespeare was right, his take on lawyers was spot on!
Laws create levels, divisions, and defy moral sense.
The least amount of laws; the Commandments and the US Constitution provide the basis for US. Get rid of the rest and live a good life.
God Help US
You don’t want DOGE?
yeah, I do
but those assigned to DOGE should stay in their lanes and work on DOGE
and not opinionate on other topics that cause an uproar
it’s a simple concept
Well now, it sure is easy to divert attention. H1b s the equivalent of, look a squirrel, at this point in time. That can be fixed later, the problems that should be priority, illegal millions and an open border are far more important. I can’t believe the level of stupid on this.
We can pay attention to more than one issue at a time.
The limiter is not your attention.
What gets me is that no one sees the hypocrisy in posting comments while using a lithium based power source for your device…
Do you know how they mine that stuff…
Trust God.
Fear not.
What gets me are absurd, blanket comments.
Not everyone uses phones for internet activities. Many see phones as being for phone calls and the occasional text and/or understand the myriad of inherent dangers in smart phones.
Then there is the total disconnect of topics, as if one has a direct connection to the other.
Keep your head down though and be unaware of the broad scope of events.

Harrison, do you ever wonder how the hell India produces so many engineers?
It’s not an accident of evolution.
In the book linked below John Taylor Gatto included a chapter on how India set up a system of STEM schools. It’s very competitive to get chosen but once in the program the Indian government covers all tuition and living expenses thru public school and college.
Similar to what private high schools and universities in America do for top football players.
California used to have the top public schools and universities in the world.
Silicone Valley is in California for a reason.
Something went wrong!
Maybe that “something” is a relevant topic.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3429724-weapons-of-mass-instruction
It’s a very relevant and important topic to the larger issue of STEM in America and within the umbrella of our education system in general. That said, it doesn’t change the visa and immigration debate IMO, but does cloud it as it’s been used as an excuse in some quarters (by Vivek for example).
Related to the question you raised, some 34% of India’s degrees are in STEM per one recent study – higher than any other country. They further have specialized training to meet whatever the current “hot tool” or thing is. They also are very strongly coached regarding resumes and interviews – to the extent that they at times provide ‘false fronts’.
Don’t think anyone is denying the need to look into that separate subject and it’s one that we’ve discussed in the treehouse and across the nation in homes and schools and gatherings for quite some time. I will at this point say that there is a reason for the demise of our educational system and that it was intentional – and desperately needs to also be addressed (separately).
Harrison, I agree. The “smart phone” isn’t our friend. All the apps are intended to make it more addictive and to make us more DEPENDENT upon the damn things, eschewing traditional tools. My levels and tape measures never have their batteries die, but my phone sure does.
When TPTB or entropy finally turn off the phone system, 95% of people will be left helpless, unable to something as simple as navigating using maps. and a compass.
Perhaps I’m too old, but I recall when dash-mounted compasses were a very common accessory in auto parts stores.
Often when I have to go to a new place I ask things like: “is the parking structure north or south of your building”? The folks on the line usually respond with things like: Um, well, I don’t have any idea which way is north”. Seriously??? !!!!
We’re Americans.
We can multitask.
And we are not stupid.
Do you plan to cut and paste this all day on every thread, as you have so far?
That may have been true of the older generations… Not so much for the current ones. Currently, the students that are being spit out by university/colleges can’t find their way out of the closets they put themselves in. They don’t seem to feel the need to earn anything, whether it be respect or a living. They have opinions, but no substance to base them upon. They think more of other countries and their traditions than they do of our own. I don’t really blame these self-absorbed self-centered kids as much as I do their parents and grandparents.
A legal migrant taking an American’s job is just as bad as an illegal alien taking an American’s job.
America First.
My father came here from Czechoslovakia legally in ’29 with skills. He put them to use within a year and repaid those in his family who supported him initially. My stay-at-home mom came from the Ukraine legally and with her husband taught their children and brought them up as proud Americans speaking only English.
My first action upon finishing school was to enter the USAF; there was no question; I was brought up to understand that I owed this great country a debt, best paid off by service in the Armed Services and with my life should that be the case.
I take issue (strongly) with your statement: I don’t care about the color of a person’s skin or the way they worship G-d or the country in which they were born. If they want to work here and become Americans and bring their children up as proud Americans, I say “All the more power to them, all the more power to us.”
I don’t purport to speak for him, but I do suspect that his issue may be focused on the subject at hand – H-1B visas – in spite of its wording.
Your own family’s story is no different than that of a significant portion of America and is a very commendable one. If but all legal immigrants were the same. It’s also the polar opposite of another significant portion of the current legal immigrant population who refuse to assimilate, hate the country as it is, instead wanting to turn it into the hell hole they came from. Many such also suck on the teat of the taxpayers for sustenance. These are all well established and obvious facts which set the context and background.
For most, your ending paragraph will find little to no disagreement – within limits. Said limits are very important ones. A very large portion of the world would love to immigrate here – one need look no further than the applications for legal immigration and the masses of illegal aliens to understand that truth. All of the world can’t come here. Thus limits. Further, too many regardless of type over a short period of time leads to its own problems. We are at such a period of time now IMO.
During such times, there needs to be a moratorium for a period of time as there has been in the past. In the case of the current time frame – until the illegal alien population is removed, the current visa holders properly screened, sorted, and for some portion – sent back due to incompatibility and/or inability for self support. Further the immigration and sanctuary laws need to be upgraded – all of them. The post tower-of-babel insanity needs to be terminated and English be made the one and only official language, be it for government documents, schools, or the workplace. The border needs to be secured. Those remaining non-citizens and recent citizens need time to assimilate. Then and only then should the possibility of lifting the moratorium be discussed.
One last thing – thank you for your service brother.
You still think like an immigrant.
The H-1B visa is specifically designed as a “non-immigrant” visa. It is not supposed to be a gateway to permanent immigration to the USA. (It often is but that isn’t its purpose.) It is intended to bring in temporary workers in tech fields that require a bachelors degree. They are supposed to work on a project then go back.
So we are bringing in educated people, using them, then sending most of them (and their experience and talent) back to their home country where they will very likely work to compete with US companies.
That’s actually the whole idea. Bring them here, train them, send them back to train $9/hour Indian employees and set up shop for permanent employment for a US company.
Immigrants to the U.S. in the early 20th century rarely replaced existing Americans in the labor force, especially those with skills. Huge difference today.
Companies are not just discriminating against hiring Americans, they have been terminating existing experienced, skilled American employees primarily to replace them with imported semi-skilled foreign labor at 1/2 the salary and fewer benefits while holding those foreigner’s’ visas over their head to coerce them to work hard and stay quiet about the lower pay. And to add insult to injury, the companies are forcing the terminated Americans to train their foreign replacements as a condition for the Americans to collect their separation packages (and pension if one exists..). It’s criminal.
Very true.
Large investment and tech companies often establish a number of different locations or campuses & purposely staff each with many H-1s.
Then the higher-ups decide to move the job function to another US location.
Foreign H-1s who ‘got no roots’ follow the function to its new distant location.
But the middle-aged US experienced person have a tougher time moving elders or kids to new places/new schools/new life without major upheaval.
So perhaps the old teammates re-sign as contractors, have to take a lesser job, or leave.
Work-fails at the new location, can’t be blamed on the old management.
Meanwhile the the company saves by swapping in cheaper help, while removing retirement-benefit payload.
It’s really just another flim-flam, & could happen multiple times.
AND requiring the laid off workers to keep quiet about it.
Look in the 🪞 before you render this debate stupid.
Nope ! The problem that IS the priority or we are done for is Election Fraud. We Americans wanted our borders secured for decades and politicians did nothing but make the promise to get elected. We Americans have recognized Election Fraud for years and politicians did nothing – and they never will willingly.
We need a Unified Code of Federal Elections Procedures, we need to write it ourselves, make it as fraud-proof as humanly possible, and then force Congress to take the 1965 Voter Rights Act, gut it, replace it with our Code, make it law effective immediately – ALL BEFORE THE 2025 ELECTION.
>Very old white guy
Sure you are, Sanjay
amen brother
I could not agree with you more. I’ve been out & about & looking at my surroundings. The border invasion of illegals (they are not hard to spot where I live) is now so apparent it’s unbelievable. Seems like it was slowly at first, & then all of a sudden. The clientele in our Walmart, for example, has entirely changed in the last 5 years. This visa issue can take a number & wait in line. I want my country, and just as importantly, I want MY CULTURE restored.
you forget election integrity. Without Federal election integrity legislation Trump’s agenda will be stopped cold after the 2026 House elections.
Maybe because you’re too old to work you forget about others who aren’t and who have to face unfair labor competition from outsiders is why you have such a flippant attitude about it.
We can walk and chew gum at the same time. Fixing illegals and stopping H1B Abuse of Americans can happen simultaneously.
Link that someone had posted on another thread, after he studied h1b data from govt website:
https://nitter.poast.org/RobertMSterling/status/1873174556606652425?
I found this one the most interesting, supposedly there is a cap of 85,000 h1b’s per year, how many are actually being issued… 600,000 to 800,000.
That is not just cheating, more of a nuclear device …. blowing the doors off of everything.
Applications obviously exceed limits on approvals!!
think college applications v admissions
I understand that it is Applicant approvals, but ARE they (the GVT) only issuing 85,000 visas? I’ll bet not and I cannot find a real statistic on how many are actually given, this is all I could find.
Annual Cap: The current annual statutory cap is 65,000 visas, with an additional 20,000 visas for foreign professionals who graduate with a master’s degree or doctorate from a U.S. institution of higher learning.
Total Visas: This brings the total number of H1B visas that can be issued each fiscal year to 85,000.
Exemptions: Some employers, such as universities and their affiliated nonprofit entities, nonprofit research organizations, and government research organizations, are exempt from this annual cap.
Renewals: Approximately 300,000 H1B visa holders receive renewals each fiscal year, which are not subject to the cap.
The last 2 being a big hole to exploit.
Those 85k visas are all issued by the end of Jan and that’s essentially it for the rest of the year.
There is such high demand for H-1B visas they usually hit the statutory maximum number (aka “the cap”) by March of each year.
But there is an exemption process to bring in above the cap
I get the class warfare aspect of all of this. Separate subject.
The real target over the last four years has been gov’t hires regardless of nationality, visa status, etc. There is credible data that much of the employment numbers championed by Biden/Dems was gov’t based – not economic growth/private sector driven.
I’m troubled by foreign nationals being employed by the government. I worked for one of the largest defense contractors for 35 years. We not only did not hire foreign nationals, they weren’t allowed in our building even as janitorial staff.
Wrong. There are groups and fields that have UNLIMITED, UNCAPPED numbers. The actual number far exceeds the 85K.
Another of Robert’s digs shows examples:
thank you for this link
These are not Student Visa’s – they are employment Visa’s with a College Degree requirement .
President Trump put limits on these during his first term, TeamBiden removed those.
Biden allowed 10 times the 85,000 allowed H1b Visas.
That can be reversed, ALL parties in this “maga war” (exception Bannon, Loomis CTH) have publicly said so.
Elon, Vivek, Trump, Sacks and yet … the battle rages and the end game is get rid of Musk and DOGE.
Denial rate is low. Note how it got even lower under Biden
He did say “issued”, did he not?
Same old bait and switch.
Corporate: we need to get the top .01% here!
Americans: seems reasonable, ok.
Corporate: imports 20k truck drivers
Americans: Hey! No fair!
A lot of foreign degrees are substandard
Corporate: we need truck drivers, but we also only want to pay $30k salary no overtime
Americans: I can’t afford to take that job at that pay
Corporate: well, I tried. H1B visa it is!
…….Corporate (to be specific at this moment, Elon Musk): “Stop being racist (so we can make more money)!”
Per year?
I may not be smart in math but I understand this charts numbers are greater than 85,000 which is what I suspected.
I would like to see the actual data behind this graph esp since it is known for a fact the 300,000 get an extension every year til they can become a permanent resident after 6 year & then on to citizenship after that so exponential.
If they only issue 85,000 a year and assume it is for the same fixed term length, how do you renew 300,000 a year? 215,000 overage every year? This does not add up at all.
Didn’t Brandon elude to ownership of 7/11’s? Kinda makes you think

1.) Given how hard they complain about it (“we’re filling the quota in less than a month!”), I think the cap limit is enforced. The proportion limit maybe not as much.
2.) Clipped from a report linked to on another thread:
As of September 30, 2019, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) estimated that approximately 583,420 individuals were authorized to work in the United States under the H-1B visa classification.
So they’re staying an average of 6 years and 4 months.
After 5 years of working under an HB1, a person can apply for Legal Permanent Residency. After 5 years as a LPR, that same person can apply for US citizenship and begin to petition family members as LPRs. That’s how chain migration works with an HB1. That’s also why it APPEARS that they only stay here 6 years and 4 months. No, they are here permanently!
Nicole Shanihan briefly touched on this as THE magnet for foreigners to accept the lousy pay and employer control. Sundance provided much of her comments and a link to her substack a couple of days ago.
I believe the same analysis found that the largest importers of these people, who work below market rate and who are tied to their employers like indentured servants, are INDIAN companies operating in the U.S. In effect, imo, they’re creating little cultural refuges here and also discriminating against non-Indian people. An additional negative effect is that their culture is very male oriented, which cuts females out of the field to a greater extent. I’ve watched the IT field devolve over the past 30 years and become more male chauvinist, for lack of a better word.
ALot of the hiring is farmed out to all-Indian staffing companies. US Tech Workers exposed all this a few years back. An excellent group for your donations, BTW. I’ll see if I can find it.
‘Divided MAGA world’ how theatrical; just the same theatrics as with the TeaParty!! Divide and conquer.
CIA tactics at it’s best; they have used it around the world to divide and conquer. It’s an ancient battle tactic; the US Constitution addressed it successfully, time to follow the Constitution to a t. NOBODY has an upper hand.
Can you even imagine this statement; “Sriram Krishnan to serve as Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.” What a mouthful of gobblly gook!! Another bureaucracy!! Just what We don’t need!
Immigration whether illegal or legal has it’s limitations; immigration is for those who seek to ‘become American’, not as a quick fix to prosperity, to conquer, or to destroy.
God Help US
D.O.D.G.E……… is it another way to spell D.I.E.?? Another ‘Department’ to staff? Communism has 37 synonyms; are the ‘lettered departments’ just synonyms for the root of the problem? Is ‘One World Government’/Communism the goal of the powerful elites…….
Back to basics; if it aint in the Constitution it shouldn’t exist.
You’re right!
The Pentagon and all its tentacles aint in the Constitution – get rid of it! Refer all defense back to the 50 states! NNSA and NRC? Not in the Constitution – chuck em!
They tell US the population makes Big Government the only way to run the USA, and the world for that matter…….
good management foundations, work ethics, and cooperation work in small households to large populations.
The US Constitution and the Commandments are easily understood by an eighth grader and easily followed.
Bigger is not better whether it be in government or commerce.
Monopolies destroy, not build. Individuality builds unity IMHO. Likemindedness comes from understanding; Our founders knew E pluribus unum no matter the population.
PS I know ‘In God We Trust’ became the ‘official’ motto in 1956
Do you think people like Elon Mush and H1bswampy give two shits about the constitution? They think they are above it in their two tiered caste system.
They do care about the US Constitution when it works to their business advantantage. The US Government is the entity that doesn’t care one bit for the US Consitution.
But the US doesn’t have (or didn’t have) a large population. China and India have large populations.
Yes. I thought “we” were not replacing our population because people we not having babies. This was one excuse for bringing in more people, legal and illegal.
At this point, IMO a dollar collapse is the only thing that will save this country. There will be nothing left to grift. Detach yourself from their system. It isn’t our system anymore. We are gifted 4 more years to convert paper into real assets like precious metals, real estate and other hard assets. Get you money out of the big banks. For every dollar you have in Chase they can lend out 10 or more and collect interest. Get all your money out of the Too Big To Fail Banks. You can thank me later.
mmmmmm
People are now being displaced from their property during emergencies like hurricanes and major fires (e.g. Hawaii and California examples)
Government by emergency, including system break down depressions, means they will (try to) take (m)any
things including (y)our lives.
I agree 100% Mr Roberts! Very little talk of the elephant (deficit) in the room. Doubt tariffs or tax cuts or DOGE will fix that. I could be wrong. Precious metals, brass, farmland, clean water source, & commodities that can be bartered might be the answer. Pray, read your bible, contribute to society, & live the good life.
A point of clarification – there is a vast difference (at least to me) between a bureaucracy (which has regulatory powers) and a presidential advisor.
For myself, have no problem with the concept of the president getting the best input he can on critically important issues. AI is one of them. Also, most presidents have close to zero understanding of science and technology and require advisory input in order to do their jobs. The OSTP itself has existed for some time and is strictly an advisory group, not a regulatory agency.
For the record I’m for drastically smaller government. Then there is penny wise pound foolish.
The Founding Fathers made a big mistake. There was a debate about strong feds-weak states vs weak fed-strong states.
They picked wrongly.
Some of them did “smell a rat” (Patrick Henry.) Unfortunately, there weren’t enough people with the conviction to hold the line keep the promise of the original revolution of 1775-1776.
‘Divided MAGA world’ how theatrical; just the same theatrics as with the TeaParty!! Divide and conquer.’
You are correct with this sentence ….. they do it because it WORKS.
The Proof is right here at Conservative Tree House
So instead of making 4 billion with H-1B workers, they would only make 2 billion using American workers (the numbers are hypothetical). I say that what is good for the goose is good for the gander. If Elon & Vivek want to clean up corruption and misuse of funds hurting the AMERICAN PEOPLE, they should not balk at an overhaul of this program.
I’d say Vivek has cooked his own goose regarding any future political run. We tend to have long memories. Elon dropped off his pedestal too, although still useful in his designated lane.
Best this got settled now. V has poor timing.
The more you look into Vivek and how he made his money, the more you realize he’s just a fast-talking con man.
Snake Oil Salesman.
Some of us said this from the beginning.
A. R. Roberts: Yes, indeed.
jay dee also.
though talks slower
I like him, but he’s full of himself. Like saying his doctor / wife is one of the best doctors in the world in her specialty.
What? She’s young, and has been practicing for what, 5-10 years? Give me a break.
Since most of their business is propped up with our tax dollars, how about we pull the plug and see how well they do without us…
Betrayal to the hand that feeds them.
Our?
Look at the data vis Federal corporate and income taxes. The top 50% of income filers pay 98% of all income taxes; the top 25% pay 89%; the top 1% pay 40%. Highly skewed. Corporations pay about 11.x%.
Based on the logic advanced, the top 25% should be calling the shots.
The issue is corruption in the H1B process vis process requirements. America First is a principle.
DOGE is an executive agent – as Sundance has pointed out. It does not have authority to tell private companies who they can hire beyond the scope of border control (i.e., visas), anti-discrimination and labor laws. It can leverage Federal contracts – all sides have done that in the past. It can apply tactics (through internal links to DoJ) like the Left has done – costly law suits.
Government cannot direct private owners of capital who they can and cannot hire. It can shape the decision process as noted above.
i believe the PRIMARY issue
perhaps unstated is
for decades (or longer),
WE THE PEOPLE
haven talked/shouted down at. deplorables sound familiar? ignorant lovers of their G-d and guns? steel workers, auto assembly, shipped abroad and told to learn to code?! even soy faced jay dea calls his “ own”people, lessee, what did his book say about why hillbillies in appalachia are poor? Look it up.
where would he be without teal?
Real Americans have had it with these arrogant hateful mean bigots preaching at us!
and then this totally INEXCUSABLE language about the face?!?
man!
I declared war on that fat a**ed fruit from africa!
It definitely can deny any H1b visas
Your last statement is in direct conflict with both reality and your previous paragraph. Hint – anti-discrimination and labor laws.
The government can and does tell private companies who to hire all the time. Wrong or right no one stops them.
i say
if they don’t like OUR rules and regulations
let them return to their ancestral paradise homelands.
muskman can take his demon filled mind to the pooh man’s paradise and his fake companies (who believes space x cgi? or a car in space? what about his battery mobiles “died suddenly” killing occupants in the process? wasting first responders ( therefore tax payer $) on nearly impossible to extinguish fires. what about harm inflicted on commuters who happen to be in the area and can’t move until “all clear”?
why was his twat avatar him in a demon suit for 2 years?
are ANY of these yo yo’s real maga?
both cultures, are historically deceptive, brutal, self centered, me oriented. and the comment about “the face” exemplifies the underlying, Core values of that hyena!
“Vivek Ramaswamy, David Sacks and Elon Musk came to the immediate defense of their friend and colleague Sriram Krishan”
I wouldn’t describe it that way. I would describe it as they immediately went on the offensive after their choice for that position, that they slid by President Trump, was rightly objected to by people who keep a close watch on these things.
We weren’t supposed to notice what they were getting away with.
SO — your belief is that President Trump is led around by the ring in his nose by these Foreigners?
OK – but I’m not buying its
A guy named Krishnan wants to end the cap on H1 B visa imports. Who would’ve thought it?
And he is in AI. Then they can say we didn’t debank you, AI did.
debanking should be recognized as several crimes
The entire “debank” issue is another hot topic that needs to be addressed, with severe prejudice.
Where have we heard that before–bringing in the best of the best–didn’t they lie to us with that line on basic immigration?? We’re sick of the lies and we don’t believe the “best of the best” and we want American jobs for American people.
They keep pissing on our heads and tell us it’s raining. I think FOREIGNERS like Mush look down their noses at Americans and our constitution as a nuisance to their objectives.
It started as jobs Americans won’t do, to jobs Americans can’t do. Both are lies of course, it’s all about the Benjamin’s. Always has and always will be.
Get rid of unions and companies would look more kindly toward the American worker.
👎
Unions in Chicago. No unions in Tampa. A union carpenter in Chicago makes $55/hr plus benefits. A carpenter in Tampa makes $22/hr no benefits. Corruption or not unions do a lot for not only their members but also bring up the standards for other non-union workers in the same industry and market.
As long as unions are voluntary…for myself, never.
From a non-pretending viewpoint – in addition to corruption, they also can and have destroyed industries, as well as can and do in various cases cause huge inefficiencies.
“We’re sorry, you can’t do your job until we find someone from union A to move that box and someone from union B to….” It’s the proverbial 8 people standing around watching one work.
Note these are not “always” or even “most of the time” viewpoints. In regards to the original poster – it’s a red herring. Most STEM jobs are not unionized in a vast swatch of the USA.
Unions don’t “do” anything for employees that they don’t get far more back than they give. When I worked for IHSS I was required as a condition of my employment to join the SEIU. They didn’t provide insurance nor did they help me the time I got cheated out of my pay. But they made sure to collect those dues, by gosh.
Cheap labor for big companies; meanwhile their foreign cheap labor gets on food stamps, so the American tax payer is paying part of their salary.
Yes, the corporation shifted the burden of their low wages onto the over burdened shrinking middle class, and, even worse, we are sinking into a national debt abyss for the sake of cheap labor. The whole thing is going to collapse because there is no one with the political will to stop the flow of money. This is the only logical conclusion I see on the horizon. So, detach yourself from this paper ponzi scheme and get into hard assets while you can. We have been blessed with 4 more years, if we’re lucky to prepare for what’s coming.
How many of these companies that replaced Americans with H1Bs also engaged in COVID-era PPP fraud? Someone should investigate.
No American will be hired if we let this H1 B Visa BS to run rampant
That’s right LovingRoyal09 and we will have effectively lost our country to foreigners. That’s what they’re hoping for, IMO.
That does seem to be the end game. They won’t be happy until the entire country looks like a Mumbai pigpen.
There are 3,000,000 H1B visa holders in the US; I work in IT and believe me, the Indians are aggressively displacing talented citizens in tech. This needs to be fixed…badly.
👋👋👋
This is a repeat of how decades ago construction crews were mostly Americans and they might pick up a few illegals in a pinch for some stuff.
Now you would be hard pressed to find a crew that speaks English let alone any Americans.
When I had my new house built in 2018, I used a General Contractor who mostly hired Amish crews. There is a way
Back in the 70’s most of the guys in my high school worked construction in the summer. They were great jobs, decent pay for summer work, and skills were learned.
This is why Boeing planes aren’t as reliable as the planes built back in the 70s, lol. These H1B people are bullshitters for the most part and not up to the task.
I think it has a lot more to do with DEI hires, which are absolutely mandated by the Federal Government under TeamObamaBiden to any company that has Federal Contracts …. which Boeing does.
I “get” the bigotry (doesn’t mean I accept it, just “get” it exists) against Immigrants or Family from India — BUT, airplane mechanics/assembly line are not H1b hires, which are required to have undergrad degrees.
The 3 million number translates into approximately 6 congressional seats. One visa category.
I recall the original intent of the H1B was to admit people with SPECIAL skills, not just common bachelor’s degree holders. Various companies, most notoriously Disney, replaced all their domestic IT people with underpaid immigrants from India or Pakistan.
I remember when the Disneyland IT employees were told they were, not only being replaced, but they were required to train the newly hired workers who were replacing them.
I used to buy a yearly SoCal Resident’s Pass which is offered at a discount . I don’t any longer. Not interested in anything that’s Disney related. Besides, the price has grown exponentially!
Disney suxx.
This is more of an indictment of our education system than anything else.
Nope.
It is an indictment of the Billionaires Boys Club.
Blob Rule exposure.
If elections were fair and honest, this situation would not exist.
There is ZERO need for a Department of Education. Gone in a heartbeat and Communism would at least suffer some setback.
Nope.
Ability grouping vs inclusion.
Look at results in the 60s/70s vs today. Long march of Marxists through higher ed did us no favors either.
I think it’s both.
What I see is another program abused and defended by the arrogance and righteous indignation of some of the abusers, who apparently still don’t get WHO WE are.
Another government program that simply should not exist.
Love the open discussion on this …we need more not less (censorship)…Rob does a good job 👏👏…I’m learning more about topic👍…
🇺🇸💪😀👍
One thing that has come out of this is the unexpected showing of Musk’s slip so early in the game. Today the Gateway Pundit ran a quote from Musk disparaging Republicans that disagree with him as “contemptible fools that should be removed root and stem”. This from a guy that left the Democrat party what, a year ago!
I used to be a fan but no more. In so far as the “party” goes, at some point he may find himself alone with his money and his biased ideas. Meanwhile President Trump can add “caring for a special needs child” to his list of official duties.
And Musk seems to be more than willing to “remove them root and stem” by telling his foreign workers to make it so. And if he can use the force of the government to cancel, debank, put them on a list for an fbi raid, there are probably plenty of foreigners all through the systems who will do it, no questions asked. Then there are the Americans who view you as a political enemy who will be a-ok with it, too. We are so screwed if nothing changes in these next 4 years.
Nothing will change and the grifting won’t end until the dollar collapses. We are in an everything bubble right now. Dr. Evil (Klaus Schwab) said America will not be a super power by 2030. We are moving right on schedule. There is a black swan on the horizon.
No idea if that quote is true or not, but IF it is it almost sounds like something conjured up to put an end to the “President Musk” talking point.
This issue ain’t doge…the infiltrators are wearing tech clothing this time around.
Skeptical of the Tech Bro Muskateers now… the name calling and slander just made me more curious because of the vitrol of the reactivity.
So we need a Vivek, Elon, David Sacks (Athos, Porthos, and Aramis.) and Sriram Krishnan (D’Artagnan/the joiner) meme.
Nothing more can be said. Schmitt is absolutely correct! I will add that this has been going on since the 1980s.
I will also add, for anecdotal evidence, that I know a few American-born young men who are not part of the woke crowd but graduated from excellent colleges with tech degrees, did summer internships for job experience and still were not able to get a job after college in their field of study.
Go blow it out your ears, DOGE boys!
Those in favor of H1B will claim that American workers just aren’t smart enough to work on computers. But when Disney decided to replace all there American computer workers with much cheaper Indian workers the American workers were forced to stay on for months to teach the Indian workers how to do the job. The simple truth is that H1B is pushed by foreigners so that they can get a free American citizenship for themselves and their immediate AND extended family. It isn’t about smarter workers or better workers it is about cheap workers and the program has gotten out of hand. But again: The simple truth is that the H1B program is no longer run by Americans it is run by a cabal of Indian foreigners. End H1B, send them all home and make them take their extended families with them.
I couldn’t agree more!
Never trusted Musk. The pressniks made entirely too much of him, promoted as some sort of demi-god.
For what? EV toys for bored rich virtue-signallers? Hertz can’t rent them, so now Hertz sells them off for peanuts. That’s ‘making America great’?
Phallus-shaped rockets which go up and down? Wow. Is St. Elon aware that Americans walked on the Moon fifty five years ago?
Vivek? What one reads, he’s made entirely too much money by means which are hard to explain, so no, I don’t trust him.
Never did trust techies as they lack perspective, thinking themselves as saviors of civilization.
The true tech community believes AI will take over the world; commonsense Americans KNOW AI is human produced -manmade.. AND AI is as fallible as it’s creator.
Turn the energy source off AI and it doesn’t work; it never produces it’s own thoughts or energy like the ‘Created’ human mind does; tech is not the savior of the human race. Like the washing machine it’s labor saving at best.
AI is known to hallucinate (make up data) and now AI has been shown to exhibit ‘mental decline’ over time (increasingly give wrong answers).
No one can explain either phenom.
I have used AI for coding and it gave the wrong answer 90% of the time.
People like Elon Mush helped to destroy America. I was always on the fence with him.
He thinks he will just move to Mars, like he moved to Canada and then the USA, after South Africa got wrecked.
Lately he’s starting to meddle in Germany’s political affairs too.
Musk is an asset not a god
If reform is impossible, then do away with H1B altogether. If your company MUST have Indian workers, then you MUST leave the US. Go set up shop in India or China. This should be a minor task for a multibillionaire globalist – otherwise known as a fat tick.
How is everyone missing the fact that big tech was heavily involved with censoring, cancelling, taking away bank accounts of Americans, putting Americans on lists, at the behest of the government and foreigners in big tech are more willing to go along with taking away our rights. They will do as they are told to by the government in order to stay in America and bring in their families. Of course they will!
Yes, they are enemies.
Thanks for posting this Sundance. I will have to check out this Rob Schmitt guy as I don’t generally watch Newsmax and he seems to be capable of excellent analysis.
This whole debate has made me wonder how many of those homeless folks in California are college graduates who couldn’t get one of these high paying tech jobs because they were white? Has anybody looked into this, I wonder? This seems like a good project for a good investigative journalist.
WorkingmanPHD: The vast majority of the homeless in places such as Los Angeles are severely mentally ill psych patients and drug addicts. Without adequate inpatient psych facilities, most psych patients end up on the street.
How did they get the way they are? What are their individual stories?
Did you say the same for all of middle America that were decimated by Clinton’s choice regarding China and the resulting mass migration of manufacturing jobs off shore, decimating entire regions?
This problem has existed for many years. Why put it in the front now. Oh, wait, we have to destroy Trump before he get in. That’s all folks. Do we need a debate on the subject? Of course, but it belongs in congress (good luck with that). The program is in the Immigration and Naturalization law. You have to change that.
No, it most definitely does NOT belong in Congress – it belongs exactly where it is, in the hands of the American people.
Elon and Vivek started the division with their name-calling, smug insults, and unhinged tirades against Americans protesting their own systemic discrimination. They are the one trying to “destroy” Trump, not us. Americans are allowed to protest their own systemic discrimination.
Elon & Vivek, you done stepped in it now.
How quickly the con artists reveal their true colors!
They chose to hop aboard the America First train.
It took minimal time to advocate opposition to America First.
These two posers are about billionaires first, and the hell with the citizens of their adopted country.
Return to your family’s country of origin, and live your best life amongst geniuses. Take Bet David with you!
This country is too dumb for those of you with such superior intellect.
Replacing Americans with foreigners (usually from India) is bad enough but nine times out of ten, the foreigner uses the H-1b as an immigration visa, which it is not supposed to be. Then they bring 53 of their close relatives to the USA in subsequentl months and years.
Yes, chain migration is related and important topic in and of itself.
H1B is no different than hordes of illegal immigrants taking all the construction and lawn care and restaurant kitchen jobs,no different than exporting all the manufacturing jobs.If the high-priced help doesn’t understand that we have to make them. There is a benefit to X / Twitter, immediate feedback and calling bullshit on the privileged. If a person is trapped in a Delhi slum and a caste system they will pay to escape,it doesn’t matter how little they are paid.In Brampton a suburb of Toronto they have found single family homes with 35 Indian ”students” living there. They all work in food service and retail,There are no white people in those occupations in Toronto. Exploitation is what companies do if they are allowed to do it.
You’ll find the same type of situation with illegal aliens, where multiple families cram into a single house…
I worked for a semiconductor firm for a few years around the turn of the century. Met an H-1B fellow from Korea. His complaint wasn’t about being paid less than the US people. He could not look for work at another company to improve his lot. If he did, he would be sent home. So the dirty little secret isn’t just low pay. The H-1B employees are tied to only the hiring company and thus kept from competing in the labor market. No wonder the companies love this. Very similar to indentured servitude.
No doubt Vivek and Elon are used to being the smartest people in the room everywhere they go and that has likely been the case their whole lives. Plus they are young, especially Vivek. This creates a unique kind of arrogance. Hoping they will let Trump, who is also genius level smart, guide them in wisdom. Otherwise, those two will be nothing but a flash in the pan after their 2 year DOGE contact is up.
Sriram Krishna, born in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India! Educated NOT AT AN AMERICAN UNIVERSITY BUT something called SRM Institute of Science and Technology founded in 1985 near Chennai, India! He first began working at Microsoft in 2007 shortly after he came to the US! He was brought in by Elon Musk after he acquired Twitter to help overhaul the platform then moved over to Musks Artificial Intelligence Program and now is in this White House Advisory role! 🤔
Hotpoint: Many of these foreign-born gubmint types have zero affinity for American History and zero appreciation of the Constitution. It’s just the way it is.
Add ethics as understood by Western Civilization.
She is someone who was helped by Sriram and is using the opportunity to push her business (at the end of the chain) due to the topics viral nature – but she does provide a decently comprehensive set of information on his history and achievements.
He has consistently helped others better themselves and consistently taken both a student and mentor role. Unfortunately, he also called for the elimination of country caps on visas.
All that said, it’s worth the time to read if you intend to comment.

Well, Don Jr managed to get a mole into the VP slot!!!!!!
JD, a nobody from nowhere with an Indian wife is now the odds on favorite for 2028!
Mr. Mush says they will only bring in the 0.1%. ROTFLMAO! The guy is so full of shit. If he handled the issue more diplomatically in the beginning the backlash would not have been so intense. Mush had a moment where he exposed how he really thinks and now we know how he really thinks. And now Mush and H1bswampy are in panic backpedaling mode.
The 0.1% actually number they would be thrilled with. There is a huge gotcha there though…
Looking at JUST India, they graduate slightly over 2.5 MILLION STEM graduates per year according to a study by Georgetown. That could mean an influx of 25,500 PLUS wives and children per year.
Would also note that the chart shows that we put out 820,000 per year…hardly a small number of folks.
In regards to one of their favorite H-1B groups, software developers of all kinds, it’s been stated that AI can generate code and will only get better over time. Why would anyone want to start off in that field given said situation??
One other aspect I have seen little to no mention of – since when is it the nation’s responsibility to provide or allow via immigration an endless supply without limit of any given skill set so that large numbers of companies can all spring up and their VC bros and owners become rich? That is most definitely NOT a national security solver or even an America First proposition. It is also very counterproductive from an employee’s point of view, as it artificially dilutes the labor pool and depresses wages and benefits.
“Looking at JUST India, they graduate slightly over 2.5 MILLION STEM graduates per year according to a study by Georgetown.”
Looking at JUST India…….how do these “graduates” stack up against the curriculum from an American university? Do these graduates have a thorough understanding of what they’re doing, or have they only memorized all the important buzz words of an industry and are capable of talking a good line but knowing very little?
Big difference between an Electrical Engineer with a degree from a major US university and some guy who took a correspondence course in TV repair by answering an ad on the back of a matchbook cover.
This debate needed to happen. This issue has been exposed for all to see. Now we are making progress. MAGA made it’s voice heard. Now we just need to stay vigilant and stop throwing bombs at each other.
As long as smug foreign billionaires are calling me “retarded” for being America First, then I will continue throwing truth bombs. We are allowed to defend ourselves.
Everything makes sense now. Flood USA with legal & illegal immigrants and reward them with jobs, housing, food, etc. at a fraction of the cost. Simultaneously, dumb down our educational system to the most absurd level and guarantee we are producing only consumers and those who cant critically think. Hopefully the sunlight here will lead to a a full disinfecting. The next 4 years are going to be amazing I have no doubt, the question is what will be done to make sure it continues after President Trump is gone.
“Cannot critically think” is why so much went so wrong during Covid and continues today.
And is also why democrats are currently running things.
Two thoughts
1) Transnational corporations have no loyalty to country
2) Other ethnic groups are non-phased by DEI talk. I have read in comments at Uz. of Indian Nationals having no qualms about packing department with their own after getting their foot in the door.
“………having no qualms about packing department with their own after getting their foot in the door.”
Having worked with them, and knowing some who live near them, the general consensus is that Indian Nationals are some of the most bigoted, racist, and arrogant people ever. When they come to America they bring their opinions and beliefs about their home nation’s societal caste system with them, and apply it liberally with all their interactions.
Not all of them, thankfully. I’ve been friends with some who were great folks.
Nor do people from South of the border. Or knee grows as often as not.
Immigration is not within the scope of DOGE. Musk and Ramaswamy need to be fired, they’ve done nothing but cause problems for Trump and rancor among his supporters.
Here is Trump’s announcement of DOGE
https://www.trumpvancetransition.com/s/trump-announces-doge
There is no mention of any visa program, immigration, labor or any other policy.
It’s stated purpose is:
• to “pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies – Essential to the “Save America” Movement”
• “the Department of Government Efficiency will provide advice and guidance from outside of Government, and will partner with the White House and Office of Management & Budget to drive large scale structural reform”
• “drive out the massive waste and fraud which exists throughout our annual $6.5 Trillion Dollars of Government Spending”
Government spending and efficiency of bureaucracies, NOT government policies.
.
Mike makes an excellent point. Hopefully the lesson was learned.
I’ve worked for the feds for 30 years and know a few things. I can’t figure out how DOGE is going to accomplish anything.
DOGE is supposed to work with OMB but the guy they put in OMB is a by-the-book guy, an insider. By-the-book will only result in stagnation.
I strongly disagree with your assertion “they need to be fired” based on their public statements of their opinions. This is and will remain a free country with protections regarding free speech.
Discussion of even contentious subjects is a significant component of the lifeblood of a healthy and prosperous nation. It’s part of why the founders made the first amendment first. The only real issue is that they need to learn that NO is a valid answer and that they can and will be disagreed with.
it’s not a matter of their “free speech” rights
it’s a matter of knowing when to exercise an adult level of discretion and judgment
about when to keep one’s mouth shut
and to recognize the elementary concept of “who asked ya?”
Trump’s super-est power is getting those who pretend to care about us to gleefully rip off their own masks.
That’s right! I did it! And I’d have gotten away with it too, if it wasn’t for those kids and their meddling dog.
Many of this CTH message board’s comments reek of self-righteous rigidity, the hallmark of a lot of self-styled ‘conservatives’, which is why more libertarian voters find them a turn-off, as do I.
I am quite conservative, and yet I find repulsive the self-righteousness involved in many so-called right-to-life, anti-abortion conservative types
Yuck.🤮
.
We self rigid people find the slaughter of the innocent repulsive.
CTH people aren’t very rigid compared to Breitbart (filled with racists), RedState, PJMedia, Liberty Daily, War Room, and some others.
what kinda racists at Breitbart?
anti-white?
anti-black?
anti-asian?
DEI adherents?
c’mon jesse … spill it
Don’t expect others to conform to your world view and look in the mirror from time to time.
BTW, the irony dripping from your comment is amazing!!
Lolberts are like commies in ONE important way, “universalism.” “Maximum freedom” on one hand vs. “Maximum equality” on the other, with no regard to genetics, culture, states etc. It’s a meme.
Independents can vote again in 4 more years. I find indignation rather than discussion repulsive.
At what point does the abused defense of themselves become “self-righteous rigidity”?
Then leave, who needs you.
Imagine wanting to commit national s**cide by improving thousands of foreign workers, who then bring hundreds of thousands of their relatives through chain migration. We already have a massive immigration and “immigrants taking jobs” problem. No need to make it worse.
And no we have an ‘Indian mole’ as the VP. You can’t make this stuff up.
So an Indian is advocating for more Indians to come here and take American jobs. What could possibly go wrong with this appointment? Trump best to gain control of the situation and short leash these people before his mandate collapses on its own volition by these clowns. Does anyone know how to collapse a mass mandate from an election? Do exactly what Trump is allowing these clowns to do.
Well, well, suddenly this message board has a moderator involved in my messages.
Let me give you some advice, those of you that post here. Don’t say anything about the right-to-life crowd, that’s a third rail. The law on this message board may be on you if you do.
You don’t have to say anything wrong, you just have to disagree, that may enough. They don’t want disagreement. Everyone has to march step together, not unlike the Democrats!
How is it different? The Democrats cancel you if you hold certain opinions and maybe this message board will get rid of me because I don’t toe the line on every single issue?
Time will tell….
.
Funny, I can see your pompous original post just fine:

You are obviously new here. Post often go into an automatic moderation queue for a multitude of reasons. Then human moderators review them and as often as not approve them. Then they appear, just as yours did.
I have posts that go into automatic moderation on a daily basis. They almost invariably show up at some point.
As far as disagreement – the treehouse is full of it on a daily basis. You aren’t the center of the universe.
Actually no one really cares what you think. Or is that the real problem?
Musk proposes a SOLUTION that would go 50% or more to solving the problem.
But hi tech Visa holders are still indentured servants.
https://x.com/ElectionWiz/status/1873208095666745634
AND, donuts to dollars that they will still hire expensive H1B people in the same or greater numbers.
We made a big issue out of the cheap costs of H1B when the real issue isn’t cost at all.
There have been a number of proposals and counter-proposals in the last half day or so. One of them involved H-1B holders NOT being tied to companies.
My comment is – then it is no longer an H-1B visa, but a regular immigration visa. It’s similar to the issue of “we need super talented people” – which is covered by O-1 visas, NOT by H-1B visas. My own view is that H-1B visas should be eliminated entirely – but said opinion is no different than that of Elon or Vivek or anyone else that isn’t PDJT.
Ultimately none of the tech or VC crowd makes the decision. The policy guidance is set by PDJT, it is overseen and managed by Miller, and if it involves a change of the law, then mangled and voted on by Congress.
Maybe DOGE should look at all of the IMMIGRANT PARENTS coming into the US, signing up for SSI and Medicare!?
And getting it.
We want American kids to be the future leader of the Science and Technology. That is for America first.
So before DJT’s appointment Krishnan was Elon’s wingman?
Sriram Krishnan is leaving Andreessen Horowitz and is reportedly in talks to join Elon Musk at DOGE
Nov 28, 2024
Krishnan has discussed joining Elon Musk at the Department of Government Efficiency, reports say.
https://archive.is/CbMD5
I had stupidly looked forward DOGE prior to Elon and Vivek committing political seppuku. Now it’s shaping up to be “fire American workers in the government and replace them with an Indian call center.”
Sure sounds like it.
Well, let’s see… Since for the past couple of decades our universities/colleges have produced very few students that aren’t self-absorbed, America hating snowflakes that think screaming in closets, killing Jews and burning down cities are good ideas… So exactly what are our choices? Fortunately, more of our young people are being encouraged to go to tech schools to actually learn a trade and hopefully soon we will have an actual workforce. Until then, do you really want more American DEI hires that can’t actually do anything?!
Professor of Computer Science at UC Berkeley: “My perfect GPA students are contacting me worried because they are getting zero job offers.”
https://x.com/USTechWorkers/status/1872773432573854044
America has qualified STEM students. Tech Bros refuse to hire them because the H1Bs are cheaper. Then people like you, Dino, crap all over the American students despite them doing everything right.
Might I add that young college voters voted for Trump in record high numbers for a GOP Presidential candidate. Young America First voters are not able to afford a house, I know they do not like h-1b. GOP turning its back on young people is bad. America First, means Americans first!
Outstanding expose’. (Not the only one I’m analyzing)
Caught with their pants down… why? Because the Tea Party is MAGA and we know how to do research that counters their BS in real time and they’re pissed about it. (Sorry McTurtle, all you did was piss us off in 2012)
