The initial issue surfaced with the appointment of Sriram Krishnan to serve as Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. [Source] Krishnan has previously advocated for removing all limits on Indian immigrant use of H1B.
Vivek Ramaswamy, David Sacks and Elon Musk came to the immediate defense of their friend and colleague Sriram Krishan, while MAGA Americans started to look very closely at the use of H1B visas. Things rapidly escalated from there.

Perhaps we could consider placing a lifetime numerical limit on H1b visas for each company and when the limit is reached, tough luck.
We should debank the Tech CEOs who refused to hire Americans.
H1B visa holders are considered temporary, nonimmigrant aliens by our government. The purpose of this program is to provide workers with specialized skills that employers can’t readily obtain here in the US. The one main advantage that India, for example, has over the US, is population; think labor supply. The use of H1B’s isn’t supposed to affect the US worker adversely (what does adversely mean?) Employers game this system. If you have a large supply of labor to select from (US, India, China), then of course you will be able to offer a lower wage, overall, for most business lines. As for adversely affecting US workers, who can argue that it does when most of the companies .who use this program, do it to control the wage scale. If you are the employer, it’s smart, if you are an US worker, it sucks.
Elon backed off today, tweeting, “Easily fixed by raising the minimum salary significantly and adding a yearly cost for maintaining H1B, making it materially more expensive to hire from overseas than domestically.
I’ve been very clear that the program is broken and needs major reform.”
That said, this Krishnan cat is an arrogant, racist prick. Trump should deport him tomorrow.
