After President Trump noted there are issues with the Panama Canal management, costs and fees being paid by American transit companies for goods that flow through the canal, the President of Panama José Raúl Mulino hit back strongly.
President Mulino is a conservative nationalist who won election seven months ago. Mulino did not like the implications of President Trump contemplating a renegotiation of the Panama Canal Treaty, with ownership and management given by the USA to Panama in 1999. Mulino hit back releasing a video statement [SEE HERE] with the transcript of his remarks below:
“As President, I want to express clearly that every square meter of the Panama Canal and its adjacent area belongs to Panama, and will continue to do so. The sovereignty and independence of our country are not negotiable.
Every Panamanian, here or anywhere in the world, carries it in their heart, and it is part of our history of struggle and an irreversible conquest.
The Torrijos-Carter Treaties of 1977 agreed to the dissolution of the former Canal Zone, recognizing Panamanian sovereignty and the complete transfer of the Canal to Panama, which ended on December 31, 1999. And we will soon celebrate the 25th anniversary of this transfer. Since then, there have been no objections or claims; on the contrary, it has been a source of strong international support and national pride. It was operated and expanded by Panamanian decision and today represents a great asset that contributes billions of dollars to our economy.
These treaties also established the permanent neutrality of the Canal, guaranteeing its open and safe operation for all nations, a treaty that has obtained the adherence of more than 40 States.
Any contrary position has no validity or support on the face of the earth. Our Canal has the mission of serving humanity and its commerce. That is one of the great values that we Panamanians offer to the world, giving the international community a guarantee of not taking part, nor being an active part, in any conflict.
Since it has been in Panamanian hands, the Canal has grown. It is managed by qualified professionals who, with clear rules, are responsible for its operation, conservation and maintenance, ensuring its safe, continuous, efficient and profitable operation.
Rates are not a whim. They are established publicly and in an open hearing, taking into account market conditions, international competition, operating costs, and the maintenance and modernization needs of the interoceanic route. This is how we achieved the expansion of the Canal in 2016, which today represents greater economic and commercial growth, generating more wealth and opportunities throughout the world and its trade.
The Canal is not under direct or indirect control, neither by China, nor by the European Community, nor by the United States, nor by any other power.
As a Panamanian, I strongly reject any manifestation that distorts this reality. And it will continue to be in Panamanian hands as an inalienable heritage of our Nation, guaranteeing its use for the peaceful and uninterrupted transit of ships from all nations, as established by our Constitution and the Neutrality Treaty. This is the greatest tribute that the martyrs of January 9, 1964 deserve, who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the sovereignty and dignity of our country, and all Panamanians who participated in an unprecedented generational struggle.
Panama respects other nations and demands respect.
With the new U.S. government, I hope to preserve and maintain a good and respectful relationship. Security issues such as illegal migration, drug trafficking and organized crime must be a priority on our bilateral agenda, as they are a real threat that should concern us greatly.
We Panamanians may think differently on many issues, but when it comes to our Canal and our sovereignty, we all unite under a single flag, that of Panama.
We are a country open to dialogue, today and always, to investments and good relations, but with the clear motto that the country comes first.
That, for this Panamanian President, is not negotiable.”
[SOURCE]
In response to President José Raúl Mulino, President Donald Trump released the following message from his Truth Social account.
It would appear there is going to be some further discussion of these issues between President Trump and President Mulino.
I suspect there is going to be a bilateral trade agreement opened and renegotiated between the USA and Panama. Perhaps tariffs on Panama goods flowing into the U.S. along with central American financial mechanisms, travel restrictions and potential other aspects coming into play.
In the end of that complicated dynamic, expect to see USA flagged carriers with negotiated special transit costs.
After all, “Economic Security is National Security.”

This will get messy.
It’s already messy.
It will get clearer, Hallelujah!
Bingo!
President Trump announcing now tells me it’s already cleaned up. The only thing that remains is the “Big Reveal” to the general public.
Look up the Evergreen Company’s container ship getting “stuck” in the Suez in 2021.
I believe it’s all connected. This is simply pure speculation on my part.
Look up President Trump’s Executive Order on human trafficking.
Also, look up the Secret Service’s name for the Hildabeast.
Clean-up operation on a global scale.
To the many who took the oath and meant it I say thank you.
When I stood in line at many rallies, sometimes in sub-freezing temps, I was not only supporting our President, but I was also standing in line to support you. I only hope you heard our USA, USA, USA chants.
Xi Jinping was in America last month… The “new Silk Road“: new port in Peru. A
new railroad in Brazil…
“China looks to expand global influence with Xi’s Latin America tour
November 13, 2024
Taipei, Taiwan —
Chinese President Xi Jinping departs on a nine-day diplomatic tour to Latin America on Wednesday, during which he will inaugurate a Chinese-financed megaport in Peru and attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Lima and the G20 Summit in Brazil.
Analysts say the trip is part of China’s attempt to expand its global influence and present itself as “a responsible global power” at a time when countries around the world brace for uncertainties following U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s victory on November 5.
“The trip is especially significant since Latin America is viewed as ‘the backyard’ of the United States; and [since] the next U.S. president is likely to return to a unilateral approach in world affairs, it provides China with the opportunity to expand its influence around the world as a champion for global development and multilateral cooperation,” said Zhiqun Zhu, an expert on Chinese foreign policy at Bucknell University.”

I have my sancocho ready…I can wait.
No it won’t.
AMERICA runs this hemisphere, and thank God for that.
Time for Chy-na to understand their status.
The FILTHY CCP Need to be crushed like the Fentanyl pills they infect our people with.
NO QUARTER for the FILTHY COMMIES, or their corrupt Panamanian leaders
Maybe Trump can smack our FEMINISTER Trudeau around before he gets the boot from us.
Panama wasn’t even a country until Teddy Roosevelt took the isthmus from Columbia to build the canal.
Take our ports back as a National Security Concern. All are owned by foreign countries because the scum bag politicians sold them.
If Russia can take over Georgia, Crimea and Ukraine for national security concerns, the US should be able to do the same with Greenland and the Panama Canal. It’s only fair!
Perhaps we could relocate our U.S. Naval base in Bulgaria as well as our concrete destroyer that’s located in Romania closer to home, maybe at least towards Alaska or Puerto Rico?
On it.
Very interesting post by Alex Pfeiffer. Every Treeper needs to read and understand the context it provides. Thank you Sundance.
It figures.
Bridges Across Panama Canal
There are three major bridges that span the Panama Canal:
Bridge of the Americas: Completed in the early 1960s, it is the oldest bridge over the canal. Located on the Pacific side, it connects North and South America and carries the Pan-American Highway. The bridge has a tied arch design with cantilever spans at either end, and its fixed spans limit the height of shipping passing beneath.
Centennial Bridge: Opened in 2004, it is the second permanent crossing of the canal, supplementing the Bridge of the Americas and replacing it as the carrier of the Pan-American Highway. Located 15 km north of the Bridge of the Americas, it crosses the Culebra Cut (Gaillard Cut) near the Pedro Miguel locks.
Atlantic Bridge: Completed in 2019, it is the third bridge over the canal, spanning the Atlantic entrance to the Panama Canal in Colón, Panama. Designed by the China Communication Construction Company and built by Vinci Construction, it is a double-pylon, double-plane, concrete girder, cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 530 meters (1,740 ft) and two side spans of 230 meters (750 ft).
These bridges play a crucial role in facilitating traffic flow between the two land masses of North and South America, as well as connecting the Panama Canal to the surrounding regions.
Fentanyl and illegals have to cross the canal. Those ports on either end of the canal are likely Fentanyl entry points.
Notice who is heavily involved by building one of the bridges, China.
President Trump reinvigorating the Monroe Doctrine is a good thing.

This bridge looks suspiciously like the bridge in North Charleston…they finished that one right before I moved to the people’s republic of IL.
Supposedly the longest pre-stressed concrete bridge when it was built at 530 meters and four lanes of traffic plus pedestrian.
The new bridge was before my time there…
And the new Tappan Zee Bridge in NY also known as the Mario Cuomo Bridge.
It’s the Tappan Zee to me.
And to many who live in the NY/NJ area.
Not by we NYers.
Mario became quite disliked and lost reelection. Naming it after him is an insult to New Yorkers.
Also a lot like the bridge spanning the Savannah River at Savannah, Georgia and South Carolina.
It must be a new trend in the architectural engineering of bridges?
Cable stay. Where everything compresses together and is very permanent. Unlike suspension bridges where everything pulls apart. Good for very long bridges. But still need suspenders for the extreme longest bridges. Good wind resistance. Extremely expensive though.
The Savannah bridge was built in 1991. Not so new.
Thank you for the post & the pic. Treepers are very knowledgeable.
You’re welcome and Merry Christmas
A little league team wants to play in the major leagues? Panama is gonna get hurt big time! They’re screwing around with the wrong man.
Is it really them, OR CCP?
There is no coincidence here – a play we have seen the past couple weeks.
DJT turns up the heat on China’s lackey, Mexico.
DJT turns up the heat on China’s lackey in Canada..
Now it’s China’s lackey in Panama.
What has the State Dept been doing? Or do they even care at this point?
One thing is sure…
Kissinger is turning flip flops in his casket…
Maybe the sorriest tribe of American liberal clowns on earth, outside of academia.
They do care-for the wrong side. Hence the conundrum.
State Department is nothing but the federal government’s Largest money laundering operation. Everything about it is geared towards “them” getting “theirs”
The State Department doesn’t do anything except talk. Excessively.
The letter from the president in Panama was written in the language of freedom, democracy, and their national sovereignty
It is a rather strongly worded letter to President. Donald Trump When, even western in European nations, are standing in his presence and treating him with utmost respect.
He talks like a cocky little kid artificially Emboden by the knowledge that his big brother is standing in the crowd. Kind of like the North Korean dictator used to talk before he was schooled by Donald Trump.
He believes he has the ACE… China
Yea, once again the CCP seems to be holding the ace cards on either side of the Panama Canal. I was wondering when this little nugget of information would come out.
Unrelated, but made me think of the Panama Papers!
A few years ago, China was “considering ” building a parallel canal through Nicaragua, that was possibly a ploy to negotiate the de-facto take our of the Panama canal, a very Trumpian move I would say.
WE need to build a canal between the US and Mexico.
Yepp repurpose the Rio grand wider deeper and scarier to cross. It should support crocs, I think a breeding program is in order they are endangered after all. Purhaps a good sized wall to keep them in too.
And blow up the Darien Gap Bridge?
Widen the Darian gap, add monuments with repurposed spent nuclear reactor materials to improve exclusions.
I have no idea what has
been happening in regards to the
Panama Canal. I will have to research.

On my to do list….after Christmas ✝️🎄
“The Torrijos-Carter Treaties of 1977 agreed to the dissolution of the former Canal Zone, recognizing Panamanian sovereignty and the complete transfer of the Canal to Panama, which ended on December 31, 1999. Lie.
I objected to it then, and I have never changed my stance on it. And I know, as a matter of absolute fact, that tens of millions of Americans have agreed with me ever since Carter took it upon himself to give it away.
The U.S. Senate approved the first treaty, known as the Neutrality Treaty, on March 16, 1978, and the second treaty, the Panama Canal Treaty, on April 18, 1978. Both treaties were ratified by identical votes of 68 to 32 in the senate.
However, in 1978 democrat held 58 seats in the senate, and only 10 of 42 republicans voted to approve the treaty, or just 1 in 4.
No matter.
What Trump wants, Trump gets.
Or, as he said in response to the bloviating from the Panamanian gasbag….”We’ll see about that.”
Another example of why we can never allow the donks to take charge again.
They’re not donks, they’re asses!
One of the biggest is jimmah!
Now we can better see what the UniParty is all about and it ain’t pretty! Amazing what corruption accomplishes, no?
Eff the RINOs!
It’d be somewhat ironic if our President Trump got the canal back to its rightful management- to commemorate ‘jimmah’s end of life, (in polite hospice terms).
It was such a gut punch when it happened.
Carter is #3 at this point behind Obama and Biden.
Unfortunately, RINOs are asses too.
Thanks Sundance we are now moving at the speed of Trump. Impressive for a guy who has yet to be sworn in and ya gotta love how much he hates when America is played for a fool a Reckoning is coming and it is well deserved .
Be well treepers the best is yet to come
RED DOG OUT
My goodness, and he has Not been officially sworn into office yet.

But I was free born.

Do the Chinese work harder than those “busy bees” we’ve all seen in cartoons growing up? Look what they have done in the last 60 years, not only within their native land but around the world. So, who has been asleep at the wheel in recognizing this reality?
Our Department of State and, of course–our CIA. But wait a minute: Recall who ran across land and oceans to have China build factories and employ cheap labor these last 60 years! So much for that old American stereotype of the Chinese, built upon jokes and not so subtle put downs.
Want a cherry on top with that picture? Try COVID and everything that followed with the Wuhan virus…worldwide! Think of a great “wake up call” if you can. If you’re not sure my perspective is somewhat accurate, then ask yourself why so many third world countries sent those who wished to leave to Western countries?
The Democrats yell to all who listen that we “need these 11-15 million workers in America. Think back when the Democrats were for slavery. Recall their justification then (who is going to pick all this cotton we need?). Note how in Europe those countries who put out all those “vacancy” signs are now having second thoughts. Trump wants to begin a mass deportation in America, right?
And yet, do you hear much about Chinese workers in those countries who now realize “assimilation” is not working with all their migrants? Nope, because the Chinese keep a low profile while working their butts off, buying up more than farms, companies–all the while eyeing other investments. Trump suggests they are looking at the Panama Canal, why?
Could it be that Panamanians are not as hard at working as the Chinese or willing to do the heavy lifting the Chinese can do? Work ethics at play perhaps? Those close to the Equator grow up with heavy humidity and high heat…not enough air conditioning units available? Stereotypes occur due to natural phenomena collated to use as one’s experience/observations: Lions are considered the king of the jungle…why’s that?
President elect Trump wants to put Americans to work, he knows what Americans can achieve, the greatness that lies just below the surface. He also knows America is made up of peoples from all over this planet; we are a “melting pot” in so many ways. DEI looks backward; that is why it is now being thrown out all over our nation like the garbage it has always been–based upon a victim mentality!
Trump is offering a “can do” energy that goes up against the Chinese theme of “here, give us a try” game plan. I wonder if the Chinese have “flooded” Panama with cheap air conditioners? Anyone recall Craftsman tools at Sears? Buying your tools now at Harbor Freight?
Harbor Freight is junk.
Harbor Freight offers tools that the US working class can afford. It used to sell mostly junk, but the quality is improving, to “good enough to get the job done”. The US-made tools and equipment have largely disappeared, and the little that remains is priced too high for everyman (as everyman’s economic position has been pushed down).
Don’t get stuck in a dated view based on the old Harbor Freight alone. The Chinese seized nearly total control of key supply including tools and equipment as the US makers ceded, and the Chinese quality has mostly become quite good overall. It’s not just manufacturing either, the Chinese now lead in science and engineering as the US has fallen to DIE-corroded Potemkin village from education through industry.
It seems that most people in the US are not tracking this, because relatively few people in the US work with their hands or in industry now, as industry and related fields have declined.
The notion that this is part of a 50 or 100 year plan is plausible.
Republicans always told us that we benefitted from cheap consumer goods, so it was our fault we had a trade imbalance with China, or something.
They said trade would make China more like us, but it made them more like the Chinese Military Dictatorship instead. And now they are one and the same.
Isaiah 54:
14 In righteousness you shall be established;
you shall be far from oppression,
for you shall not fear,
and from terror,
for it shall not come near you.
15 Indeed they shall surely assail you fiercely, but not from Me.
Whoever assails you shall fall for your sake.
We speak what You speak, Almighty Father, Yes and Amen!
Amen & Amen
Praise God! He is with us…
To God Be All the Glory!
And we helped them maintain the iron grip. And by ‘we’ I mean our intel community and googly providing Dragon to their spec.
I thought so too, in the 80s/90s…..
And to say that Panamanians were bribed by China! And every household in the DC blob are not feeding on bribes, kickbacks, campaign contributions, sons, daughters, nieces & nephews, Ivies and Generals….Chinese are shrewd, DC is richer than Rome but we get the Taxes and depreciated fiat currency. What has changed Bushes? TRUMP! Bushes were with Brown Brothers in the Sino-Soviet war after oil fields 100 years ago…
Emeth, I think you are missing the point.
I gotta agree. China made used to be synonimous with crap, not so much any more.
TEMU is s chinese app, marketing chinese goods. The goods are good quality, and the site actually is 10 times better than Amazon; easier to use, it actually makes shopping there so much fun, some people joke it is addictive.
If the one who offers the best product or service wins, Amazon is history, going the way of AOL.
Amazon is so easy to use it cannot be “10 times better “.
Cheering for the chinese and being factually incorrect is rather common.
TEMU, pretty sure they are stealing all your information
I have heard the same thing. Something about your credit card not being safe. Can’t vouch for that one way or the other however as I have not bought from them.
The Chinese are not leading in AI.
A good number of HFT’s top quality tools are made in Taiwan.
You say the Chinese have become leaders in science and engineering… except they STOLE the ideas and methodologies of others. They invent nothing, they only steal the work of others…
They steal some of it. The vast majority of it is freely given by the corporations/oligarchs that are buying Chinese slave labor.
Part & parcel it is the cost of doing business in China & nobody is forced to do business with ChiComs. They choose to.
Chinese slave labor?
China has minimum wage,
in most, if not all of it’s provinces.
It may seem small to Americans
but the cost of living is low there.
💁 🤷♀️
They lock up the labors in on-site dormitories – bunk style. Their days are much longer than we can imagine.
You are thinking of Foxconn, Apple’s main assembly facility. Line workers are on 12 – hour shifts, 6 days a week.
Namely the US.
Harbor Freight is chinese junk.
Fixed it.
How many remember when “Made in Japan” meant junk. I do. When I was a kid maybe around 9 or 10 years old, my Uncle owned a small trucking business in Brooklyn, NY. Most of his business was making deliveries of imported Japanese made goods to distributors in lower Manhattan. He used to take me along in his truck as he made his stops. I can remember he and the bosses he dealt with talking about “Japanese Junk”. Look where they are now. Remember W Edwards Deming? History repeats itself.
Check out eBay for used hand and power tools.
Inexpensive prices.
No need to buy brand new when you have this option.
Even with shipping costs?
They really get you there
Check your local pawn shops. Tons of tools to rummage through.
So the Chinese aren’t stealing any “information “anymore , cause they are superior?
China has the most STEM graduates in World.
Been like that for years.
🤷♀️ 💁
Personally, I feel people seriously underestimate Chinese manufacturing. They think they are unskilled junk makers. Not so. You really do get what you pay for with China, and if companies like Dollar Tree, and Walmart want cheap, they get junk, but if you pay proper money, their craftsmanship is second to none.
You are right Right! (Alliteration?) I recently purchased a Chinese made laptop computer. Lenovo is the brand. It is really a result of IBM getting out of the small computer business twenty five or so years ago. They sold out to the Chinese and took their whole factory to China and spent 10 or so years showing them how to do it and the result is impressive. Mine is at least as good as the IBM Thinkpad that was it’s forerunner. Only downside is it’s operating system of Windows 11 which is junk.
This is true. I wrench all the time. I’m fortunate enough to be old enough to still have my long ago bought made in USA tools – which still work great. But when I have to get additional or different, it doesn’t matter the brand, they’re all made in china – many times they’re still junk, breaking right away – and with no other options either because to obtain one of the still USA made versions is very difficult to acquire because there is no store you can walk into which sells them.
And to special order them they’re usually 5x the price. Unless it’s your all day, everyday job you can’t justify the cost.
I’ve been saying for years that the CCP and all their goods should be banned just like we didn’t do business/trade with the Soviet Union. The CCP is literally no different than the Soviet Union and it should be treated exactly the same. Whenever I see something made in China I do what I can to purchase a non-china alternative.
I informed my pharmacy (CVS) that I will not accept any medications manufactured in or sourced in China ! They informed me that they are required to comply with that request and must identify and obtain non-Chinese alternatives. This is something Every One of You can do Today !
Be very aware – many medications have a USA named company as the manufacturer – However, if you look closely you can see where they manufacture it. This is if it comes in a manufacturer’s bottle; if it comes in a generic pill bottle you probably will have to call the pharmacy customer service.
Next time at my VA hospital I will ask the Pharmacy head where his medicine originates…never thought about what you presented, thanks for the tip GW!
Well, regarding Craftsman…I was never disappointed.
Kenmore gets 5+ stars–still waiting on a ‘fridge part…but she is still cooling since 1996…God bless Whirlypool and Kenmore.
I hang onto my “old” household items such as ovens, dryers, etc. for as long as I can because what is manufactured today is junk compared to them. A vacuum cleaner repair guy told me to never replace my vacuum with a new one because they are junk.
A/C’s are the same. My old one lasted 30 years, now my new one I am told should be about 5 – 7 years.
And Die Hard.
Chicom junk!
Sometimes you just need a cheap one-time-use piece of junk tool.
And other times you don’t.
You should see the yacht that the owner and co founder of Harbor Freight has bought with the profits earned by selling so called junk from China. One of the 75 largest yachts on earth as I understand. I have seen it and it is big!
As a kid in the old Canal Zone, I remember that the average Panamanian in Panama City, did not have air conditioning…work ethic was scarce, knowledge or job skills were scarcer …poverty was unbelievable…in the city…the beloved tradition of “siesta” existed out of necessity for some…businesses shut down at 11:30 or noon and did not open again until between 2:00 and 3:00 pm.
Of note…the wealthy and important of Panama, sent their children to school in the American Canal Zone…for better educations.
My BFF was related to Omar Torrijos….another classmate had Noriega DNA. At the end of the day though…
Panama is a Banana Republic only it has been perfected

They were not sleeping. They were facilitating China. Especially Clinton
^^^^^^^
CCP captured / purchased influence in high US gov places, and we have experienced that influence for decades.
Bernard Schwartz of Loral Space got Clinton, for $750k bribe, to show Chinese how to fix ICBM MIRV gyro issues…. Leninwas right, US Pols would sell the rope to hang the US…
Just The News:
“An investment fund named Bohai Harvest RST (BHR) partly owned and directed by Biden’s son, Hunter, and Secretary of State John Kerry’s stepson, Chris Heinz, had just a few years earlier played a vital role in facilitating the sale of the Michigan-based auto parts maker Henniges Automotive to one of China’s main military aircraft makers, Aviation Industry Corporation of China or AVIC. That 2015 transaction approved by the Obama administration and its Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) came just 15 months after the United States publicly added one of AVIC’s subsidiaries to a Commerce Department blacklist (known as the “Entity List”) and just months before the Obama administration resumed patrols in the South China Sea because of increased Beijing military aggression in the region, where AVIC-built military jets partake in China’s activities.”…….
Hunter Biden helped China buy U.S. company working on dual-use ‘national security’ technology – Liberty Unyielding:
“Henniges Automotive was involved most notably in technology for sealing and anti-vibration, which is clearly of interest to complex weapon systems like warships, main battle tanks, self-propelled artillery, and combat aircraft. Besides Hunter Biden’s involvement, the secretiveness of the CFIUS process, which Peter Schweizer calls out, is increasingly disquieting.”
Peter Schweizer: Hunter Biden Helped China Buy Our ‘National Security’ Assets
(breitbart.com):
This means Hunter helped target his fellow sailors for money.
Consumerism and my hypothesis as related to chyna..
…I remember shopping in the Charleston Navy commy/exchange…there were a lot of items for sale back in the day, imports (Waterford comes to mind)…china, crystal, silver, high end lamps at low end prices…quality goods.
As we were getting ready to leave…the chatter was out there, about closing Naval Bases etc and Charleston was on the list, to move operations to the Naval Weapons station in No. Charleston…fast forward…I contemplated the type of one stop shopping at the AF and Navy bases…
It was when Clinton was in office that it became news of Hilary being on the BOD of Wallyworld…which was only starting to leave a footprint in retail…while Bubba was weakening our military.
I remember thinking or wondering if that TPTB were trying to make Walmart in the model of the base exchange on stop shopping…which included gas stations…in the early times, they sold some nice things…but no longer. From one aspect, the idea made sense…but they went to far on imported junk..
Are the Chinese/American policies sunsetting now, as the junk is now far worse and more superfluous are they cleaning out warehouses…?
Side note…a dear friend who is no longer with us…worked in high level shipping…often going to China…he said the Chinese businessmen spoke better English than we Americans…he said that over 20 years ago.
I’m still freaked out that the Chinese subways announce the stops in Mandarin and in English.
It would be enlightening to do an analysis of how the CCP media has portrayed North America, and especially the US, between 1990 and 2020.
These are just impressions based on random observations, but here goes:
The oldest Chinese generation that still remembers Mao and who were true believers, will follow an American down the street, glaring suspiciously and assuming ill intent.
The population under 30 wants to learn English, and has dreams of immigrating to the US. They think of the US in the same way that a poor Italian or Irish family might, in 1880.
Some talk of how they would go, if only they were given permission.
Who put that vision in their heads? Not American movies or TV. It had to be the CCP.
So . . . what’s the long term plan, hmmm?
Side note, about culture shock.
If you are an American, the most base level shocking thing about China is the racial homogeneity. It’s like a vast parallel universe in which the planes, trains, subways, roads, and high rises are all familiar, but all the variety of humans is reduced to a few subtle variations.
I’m sure the Chinese people have many ethnic distinctions they perceive among themselves, especially between the Han and the rest, but nothing so visually stark as the difference between Byron Donalds and Trey Gowdy.
I wonder what the culture shock is on the flip side, for a Chinese immigrants coming to the US. It must be like a switch from seeing in black and white to seeing in color.
The other thing that becomes apparent traveling between the two countries:
The US is incredibly rich. For a Chinese person from a mega-city of tens of millions, in which almost everyone lives in small apartments and no one has any land of their own, and any gathering is communal and probably held outside in a park, and for whom only the very rich own a townhouse, much less a single family home, seeing our suburbs has to be like seeing riches just pouring from heaven. Our clean air, clean water, and all our personal transportation (not just fleets of modified motorcycles), probably look like beckoning opportunities to exploit untapped resources – and the first will be the richest.
I’m just hypothesizing. I don’t know what is going on in the heads of all these recent Chinese immigrants, except they are sworn to loyalty to the CCP. But it would be interesting to find out.
Mega cities like New York and other

I had to laugh, one did on street type interviews

Yeah, but hubby says they’re not nearly as good as the original American made!
You can buy Chinese Crap with the purchased-from-Sears’-Bankruptcy, Craftsman name, but not true Craftsman tools.
Am remembering the Sear Die Hard Battery….
Yes! Kenmore washer and dryer too. Mine lasted me 23 years and 7 kids.
I worked for Sears Catalogue until it was discontinued. They were a great company to work for back in the day.
I still have an old Sears catalogue – I love looking at it.
I too worked for Sears back in the sixties in Baltimore, MD. Great company to work for with great benefits. Remember the matching retirement funding. They would match your retirement pay deduction up to a certain amount. Many long time Sears employees retired with a big chunk of cash.
The brand has been sold exclusively at Advance Auto Parts and their affiliates since 2019. Clarios manufactures the batteries.
Made in china. Not the same.
Has anyone noticed that those hard working illegals are getting free or working at non hard working jobs such as delivery at Walmart but only taking the easy runs? Yeah, they’ll come to make the beds but the don’t want to hoe the gardens.
Yes, I am old enough to remember Craftsman tools – are they even being sold now? In my view, we have become too much of a “melting pot.” Too many of the newcomers (invaders?) have not melted very well and are far more interested in what they can get rather than what they can contribute to our great country. Sometimes you just have to use common sense.
American manufacturers transferred our technology and our physical factories to China starting in the late 70’s and early 80’s. I watched it happen in my industry and miraculously kept reinventing myself within same industry.
Jimmy Carter (our second-worst President) should never have given the canal back to the notoriously corrupt Panamanian government. He was, and is, a fool. Its strategic importance to this country is obvious, as the “Darian Gap” amply demonstrates. Glad to see that Trump is making this a priority. MAGA!
I can see someone with his religious beliefs thinking that was the right thing to do.
It was still STUPID! All that Naval Academy education wasted on Jimmy!
Which is why I wouldn’t ever elect a Sunday School teacher as President, any more than an academic with little real world experience.
Window dressing. Gotta look religious.
Jimmy Carter always sided with terrorists, no matter what.
He was complicit with the rest of the Democrat Party, imo. Is he really a Christian? I wonder…
As a native Georgian, Here, Here! to the fool part. Carter was so smart (they said), he was stupid, and along with most arrogant men, stubborn for the wrong reasons. Ask anyone about Carter showing up at the 3 Mile Island incident and wanting a tour of an unstable nuclear reactor. So grateful he was a one and done POTUS. So glad Carter lived long enough to see Donald Trump re-elected. That must burn his grits every day. Carter was selected as the “nice guy” image as the antidote to Nixon’s debacle. I cannot image how he won. It didn’t take the American people long to realize they had bought a pig in a poke sack.
Well well, Jimmy knew better…about going to TMI????!!!!

I still have that oceanfront lot for sale in the northern panhandle of Texas….
Does it border the Pantex facility grounds? Asking for a friend. Former Texan born in Amarillo.
Ha ha…surrounded by cattle ranchers…
I still remember that great Saturday Night Live Skit where Jimmy ( played by Dan Aykroid), saved the black woman ( played by Garrett Morris ), from the reactor, back in the day when comedians made fun of both sides.
We must have known all along that besides president of the greatest nation in the world and peanut farmer, Jimmy Carter’s other job was as a Nuclear Physicist!!!
Jimmy had the lesser version of Navy nuclear training not the full nuclear engineer version.
Begs the question on the legitimacy of the Nixon “legacy”, and the Carter election. When you look at them from the last 8 years perspective of MSM manipulation and voter fraud you have to wonder about much of our political history.
Farther back than that. Go back to ’64, at least and everything you think you knew, about the history/politics needs to be reexamined.
We see the SAME entities, MSM,I/C, RNC/DNC, etc. colluding to politically assassinate Goldwater, litterally assasssinate JFK, attempt to assasssinate Reagan, stick him with Bush to undermine him, destroy Nixon, that have attacked PDJT ; ITS THE SAME BLOB.
First they destroyed Agnew. That opened the door for Ford.
Then destroy Nixon. Ford moves up, selects Rockefeller as VP.
Total take over of executive branch by CFR.
Ford, the deep state pawn that altered the location of one of JFK bullet wounds in the autopsy report. He even confirmed it on.
FDR
Carter wasn’t supposed to win the 1976 nomination. There were other, more established Democrats in that race – Henry Jackson, Frank Church (of Church Committee fame), Jerry Brown and a few others. Carter was a bit of a populist and people were in an anti-establishment mindset after Watergate. In 1980, the Democrats challenged incumbent Carter by running Sen. Ted Kennedy in the primaries. Democrats don’t typically do that.
After Carter’s improbable 1976 win and subsequent 1980 defeat, the DNC went all in on superdelegates to prevent a repeat of candidates like Carter (and McGovern before him).
Lots of downhill sledding since 1933…
Glad you made the connection between the Panama Canal and the Darian Gap. With china being the worlds largest shipper and having operational control of the Panama Canal, is it no wonder that the illegal alien convoys of peoples from all around the world, begin in Panama. I would not be surprised if they are being dropped off in Panama via chinese container ships.
I wonder if this is part of the reason why President Trump is now focusing in on Panama.
Well put. I think the D Gap Children traffic is causing the sternly placed X posts from the GOAT.
Fun to watch President Trump magic happen in the X sphere.
Onward Christian Soldiers.
Maybe Carter should not be elevated to the third worst President with obama/biden the bottom two worst ever.
President Trump said (paraphrasing): ‘Everything is connected and I’m the only one who understands this.’ Is President Trump connecting the Panama Canal and immigration? 🤔
Darien Gap is in Panama if I remember correctly….China and US funded NGOs and US State Dept, Catholic Charities and CIA cocaine crew probably all have great facilities there.
As pointed out above, tbe precursors for fentanyl have to come thru panama
New ones are hurriedly being finished before the change in US Govt, particularly the State Dept and it’s unlimited bank acct for NGO’s.
Darién Gap on the border between Panama and Columbia. Land bridge from South to Central America.

Trump knows how to connect dots! Asses (donks)? Not so much!
peanut brain illegally gave away control of the canal to the commie chinese, it was never ratified by the senate and hence illegal. Time for US to take back what is OURS!
The two Panama Canal treaties were both ratified by the US Senate, as Landslide24 says above.
So the Chinese are investing their hard-earned dollars in the Belt and Road project. What are the Americans investing in?
The peoples it the governments? Those are two very different questions.
Ukrainian mining rights.
Transgenders and women in combat and DEI.
In the STUPID wars …Ukraine and in the Levant…
He’s putting on the tough guy show, but its only a show, he knows who built the canal, he knows who owns it. How much did he pay us for it, right, free passage for American ships until they pay it off
Agreed. He really has to do this because his citizens would call him a coward if he didn’t defend their sovereignty. However, the canal is not really Panamanian if truth be told. He knows that and will come to the table meeting with PTruzmp knowing that. This issue must be very important to national security for PTrump because he is making a strong statement about follow through if he doesn’t get what he wants.
President Mulino talks about “muh sovereignty” , yet allows the communist Chinese to control the Panama Canal . From my understanding the treaty stipulated that the canal was not to be monopolized, be neutral, and open to all. It’s a strategic choke point for commerce and the use of US naval transport. It’s a national security threat to the Americas if the predatory communists are allowed to control it. Sorry Jose, your sovereignty claim is debunked.
Based on your second sentence it appears Panama broke the Treaty. Therefore the Treaty is dissolved.
President Trump knows what needs be done about China’s drug war of attrition against the US.Tom Homan recently flagged part of it speaking with Tucker Carlson.
Sad and harsh to say it but this just confirms to many around the World that the US is indeed ‘agreement incapable’ and that its signature on a document is not worth the paper it is written on.
This is the US as hegemon operating in ‘big bully’ mode where the wishes of its, future in this case, Government override anyone else’s.
If it is the US’s intent to stiffen the resolve of China, Russia and the Global South to ramp up to a fully functioning BRICS organisation as fast as possible then plans like this are bang on the money.
Sad and harsh to say, your days of screwing the USA are over.
President Trump is sending a signal to China on this.
If the security of the canal should ever be in doubt, we will take it back.
Jimmy, is that you?
President Thomas Jefferson wrote:
“A strict observance of the written law is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to the written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the ends to the means.”
The carter, globalist / communist, panama-giveaway brainchild was un-American in the 1970s, it is for sure, un-American in the environment America operates in today with dangerous enemies operating around and invading our southern border and operation freely in South America and the Caribbean.
The globalist / communist Clinton, bush, o-bummer and biden administrations have failed to protect America’s security interests in our own hemisphere. The Monroe Doctrine was our controlling document long before anything pee-nut carter got passed through a globalist / communist controlled senate in his day.
The American people, through President Trump, have stated, enough is enough…… President Thomas Jefferson was right and …… MAGA / America First isn’t just our motto, it is our duty.
“The Monroe Doctrine” is not the 1960’s secret service’s code for JFK’s extracurricular activities with the lady from Hollywood. It is the law of the land and Trump’s anything pee-nut carter pushed through.
Pee-nut Carter, no relation.
To renege on a profoundly stupid agreement, especially one such as this, isn’t confirmation of ‘agreement incapable’ or operating in ‘big bully’ mode.
What are the wishes of “anyone else” and “who are they? Are “their” wishes for or against the safety and well being of the USA?
Opening a can of Worms….
When it is a “profoundly stupid agreement “
Cuba is smiling 🙂 maybe that “profoundly stupid agreement “
that Cuba signed with US regarding Guantanamo Bay can finally be
torn up! 🤔🤔
I am sure other countries will be looking at what
“profoundly stupid agreements “ they have signed
also. 🤷♀️💁
If you don’t already work for the Chinese, you should emigrate there. The treaty with Panama had conditions, conditions that have not been met or maintained. Go home.
President Trump does not bully. He won’t something is wrong unless its wrong. Wait and see. Something is wrong in Panama.
Its a Banana Republic.
Back in the day, it was run by some very wealthy and powerful families…
Sorry, but Panama has already broken the Treaty by ceding control to the Chinese.
and drugs and invaders
Our country comes first! Nobody knows that better than Trump. If, by doing this he can save many American lives – from fentanyl to child-trafficking – he will, and should as President, do it. All countries should act on behalf of their own country – let the chips fall where they may.
Agree!
Another interesting example when
researched.
Cuba has been trying to kick the
US out of Guantanamo Bay for
more than 50 years!
And interesting that in the last 50 plus
years…only once did Cuba cash US check
for so-called lease…and that was accident.
Talk about a mess there. 😳 😳 🥴 😖 😣
Panamanian leadership has done this skullduggery to themselves! Did they think we wouldn’t protect our own country when they all0wed the Chinese communists , the UN and ngo’s to invade us , opening up the Darien Gap to criminals, deadly drugs and terrorists?
This has been allowed by the cooperation of the Democrats for sure. Republicans had better understand that there’s a new sheriff in town. If republicans don’t join President Trump in his goals for our survival and resurgence, then for them, there is going to be hell to pay!!
The Panamanian Government, much like the Mexican Government, has allowed human trafficking, drug trafficking, and the CCP to infiltrate their lands to the detriment of the USA.
They have not been good regional neighbors who see the long term benefit of protecting the neighborhood from bad actors.
Those governments have sold out the USA and are selling out their own people in the long run.
Don’t forget the drug cartels. They are the real power brokers in South and Central America
Quit blaming Panama for doing what Obankster and his Globo-Homo Owners forced them to do.
This is US first.
Did the Panamanian President stand up to Obama all “tough talking guy” like he is doing right now? He sure talks tough now just like Little Miss Mexico President did towards PDJT.
Of course, the USA has been putting its tentacles all over the globe. Of course, these “leaders” have been compelled to comply with the USA monster in order to destroy the USA.
But I am talking about “tough talking Panama president”. Why does he not stand up for his nation and work out a deal like Orban or other Nationalistic nations? At some point, these “leaders” are going to have to grow a spine or else PDJT is going to grow one for them.
So, YES. They are still being BAD neighbors and bad for the region despite how weak they are to the forces of evil.
He could have picked up the phone and had a conversation with PDJT instead of talking tough guy to the world.
Everyone knows that PDJT was talking to Chy-na. This guy could have been part of the solution instead of the problem.
The United States currently pays for ‘immigrants’ IN Panama to be returned to their nation of origin.
The last I heard, the USG was paying to bring them here–except for the women and children confiscated by the Obiden Sex Trafficking Cartel.
But a New Day is here, praise God!
Isaiah 41:
11-13
“Count on it: Everyone who had it in for you
will end up out in the cold—
real losers.
Those who worked against you
will end up empty-handed—
nothing to show for their lives.
When you go out looking for your old adversaries
you won’t find them—
Not a trace of your old enemies,
not even a memory.
That’s right. Because I, your God,
have a firm grip on you and I’m not letting go.
I’m telling you, ‘Don’t panic.
I’m right here to help you.’
We stand on Your Word, Lord Jesus!
A young woman with a small child spent a couple of cold hours (it is freezing here) in a city playground and encountered two apparently unsupervised children, around 6-8 years old. The two children did not speak English, only Mexican Spanish from a province where the young mother had spent time (Morelos).
She was able to converse with the kids and found out they are not attending school here (how will they learn English?) and they had no snacks with them (she shared what she had brought). The adults supposedly with them remained in a car parked rather far away and frankly that situation did not give her the impression that the people in the car were their parents.
At least the kids were getting outdoors to exercise and play, but 300,000+ missing minor children as reported by Tom Homan gives me the creeps. The same people who have posed as perpetually penitent over slavery in the United States 200 years ago, gleefully hand over minors for sexual and labor exploitation. Shame on them all, including Catholic Charities and the many religious organizations that remain willfully blind to what they enable
Well and truly said.
Catholic Charities is run by Catholic priests.
Of mountains and molehills…
Jesus says in Matthew 17:20,
If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say unto this mountain, move, and it will move.
Nothing is impossible with God.
The People of Panama know the difference between a mountain and a molehill.
Trust God.
Fear not.
So do the people of the United States of America.
We built that canal when other countries failed.
Do you think OBiden and Harris know what country the Panama Canal is located in?
The Darian Gap and its closure is the objective.
And it will close down. Either the Panamanian government does it or the US Canal Zone will be open once again in Panama
Sign me up!
Can I have my family’s old quarters back? The one on the hill…with the livign room window looking towards the canal…(my mom never put curtains on that window…she wanted to watch the ships)…
Did you hear? The Panama canal is their greatest “conquest.” Oh please!!
We dug it, we can fill it back in. Then PanChina can dig a new one.
Yeah, but we cured malaria on the way!
Ya don’t have to back fill it…the mudslides will do the job at “The Cut”…
Panama has 20 million reasons to cooperate. They came through Panama. And they can be deposited there on the way out, starting with the worst. Not complicated. And lots of them are Chinese.
Shocking Map Reveals Vast US Farmland Owned by Chinese Government | The Gateway Pundit
After Hillary and Zero used CFIUS to sell our ports to Chy-Na, PDT forced the Chinese to sell LA back to an Aussie firm. The entire useless Nat/Sec Blob signed off on this Treason, just like Hillary’s Uranium Deal with Putin.
“The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States CFIUS is an inter-agency committee in the United States government that reviews the national security implications of foreign investments in the U.S. economy.”
Just one of the many reasons China teamed up with the Uni-Party to overthrow the American People and PDT in 2020.
President Trump is only asking Panama to reclaim the Canal from China just as he is reclaiming America from our Chinee Whores like Mitch MaoConnell, Joey Fentanyl,”Gai-jin” Newsom and all the other Rent Boys.
China bought up hundreds of acres outside of Detroit to build a chinese only community. They also bought up hundreds of houses in Detroit to house what they thought were going to be Chinese workers in Chinese owned American factories.
My disclaimers…I grew up there during politically sensitive times. I was early to mid teens…seeing that my homelife was going to be possibly upended.
The Canal Zone government was run for the sole purpose of Canal operations.
The lifestyle of the Zonians was care free…Socialism…housing provided–we did not own the homes we lived in unless we lived in Panama proper…electric bills, and water bills, rent, was all done by ‘payroll deduction’. Americans shopped in the government stores, known as “Commissaries”, we did not pay any tax on our purchases there…activities were limited for families, A necessity to “keep” workers there as it was considered a ‘hardship camp’ due to the different culture and climate. I remember dad talking about people starting to work there and after 2 weeks left…it was tough. And socialized medicine, at clinics and Gorgas Hospital…
Now for the dirty little secret:
Aside from the military, which was its own situation….There were many little ‘towns’ in the old Canal Zone…on each side/Atlantic and Pacific..
That government housing circa 1970’s and built decades before…there were segregated ‘towns’ where people of color…lived…one area/town, the homes were wood frame, up on stilts and had no air conditioning…many of those residents were descendants of and grandfathered in to work and living–many from Jamaica and other islands in the Caribbean. But were segregated. I was there last in 1978, things/ideas, were starting to change.
My attitudes are based on the emotion of being resistant to change firstly…and the idea, ‘you can neve go back’….
China figured out a long time ago that it is easier and cheaper to buy a country than to go to war. China has been buying up and controlling our resource for a while now. Think of all the bottled water that is being taken out of the Great Lakes and shipped overseas, never to be returned. Who was SoS Hillary Clinton negotiating with to sell the uranium mineral rights in Nevada to that led to the stand-off with FBI agents that killed an unarmed man? China! Who bought up thousands of acres of farmland in the USA? China! Who bought hundreds of acres of land west of Detroit and wanted permission to build a Chinese only city? China!
Who have been the latest uninvited guests loaded with backpacks of cash coming over the borders north and south of us? China! Whose military is doing training exercises in Canada? China! Do not think for one minute that China will not invade America. They want our resources, not our population–COVID anyone? For that matter, when Slo Joe was screeching that we needed to bring in foreign troops to protect the country from Trump terrorists in early 2021, I’m betting that most of those troops would have been Chinese and they would have never left. I am not sure how that was derailed, but I am grateful to a merciful God that it was.
By the by, China is a quick study. The British introduced opium into China around the turn of the 19th century to get a hold on the country. Is it any wonder that we are seeing so much fentanyl coming into the USA?
Here in GA, the governor is a hand puppet controlled by CCP agents put in place to make GA the keystone for what they have planned here in the south, which included controlling the swing state 2020 election here. The same CCP agents who refused to censor Chinese investments in the stock market and are buying their way into the Trump administration even now. For that matter, my guess is that the recent St. Simon’s Island group that Kowtow Kemp attended is hand in glove with the CCP. Not to mention controlling our ports.
If China wants to invade America they better pack a lunch. It’s gonna’ take a while. And they are going to lose.
Correction – the Nevada uranium deal was to Russia, not China.
“Think of all the bottled water that is being taken out of the Great Lakes and shipped overseas, never to be returned.”
The Great Lakes are not a finite water tank. All of the Great Lakes water is returned.
It is amazing how many people do not know of or understand the Earth’s hydrologic cycle.
Look at the graphic on this article: https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/visualizing-115-trillion-world-economy-one-chart
This is leverage, and Trump seems willing to use it. It’s use will upset some people.
If the aim is to actually put America back to work making stuff, by combatting Chinese mercantilism and their fentanyl war, it will be diffficult after so many years of abuse, but worthwhile.
We need to rebuild our navy (shows of force, trade enforcement and medium intensity conflicts) while also preparing for (and responses for) hypersonic and drone warfare.
Demonstrate the ability and the will to act, all while skillfully avoiding armed conflict. This is the hard part, a balancing act, that feminine DC is currently incapable of. This is male behaviour. “I am not looking for a fight, but if you are, you just found one”.
None of this occurs in a vacuum. Integrated policies are needed.
Dang. Four years of Carter and we got DOE and this. And he was Navy and did this. I wonder who had his ear to do this way back then.
Two DOE’s . Energy and Education.
Time to invest in Mexico’s rival train canal!!!
https://www.freightwaves.com/news/mexico-aims-to-compete-with-panama-canal-by-using-cargo-trains
China also has plans for a ‘dry canal’ in Columbia. 🤔
Trump’s speaking to China, not Panama.
Trump is quite right to focus on the canal. 2/3 of the material transported through it each year comes from or is destined for US ports. Beyond the matter of the canal, Trump is also putting a shot across the bow in regards to China influence in Latin and South America. He seems well aware that our own national security is coupled with maintaining control over the Central and South American land mass which is in our sphere of influence. Having an aggressor nation like China establishing a foothold in any part of that area puts our national security at risk, both economically and militarily. It is high time we reestablish the Monroe Doctrine once again!
Amazon.com: Last Founding Father: James Monroe and a Nation’s Call to Greatness: 9780306819186: Unger, Harlow Giles: Books
“In this compelling biography, award-winning author Harlow Giles Unger reveals the epic story of James Monroe (1758-1831)-the last of America’s Founding Fathers-who transformed a small, fragile nation beset by enemies into a powerful empire stretching “from sea to shining sea.” …The Last Founding Father is both a superb read and stellar scholarship-action-filled history in the grand tradition.”
The Last Founding Father: James Monroe and a Nation’s Call to Greatness
by Harlow Giles Unger: Prologue:
“Washington’s three successors–John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison–were [despite Revolutionary greatness] mere caretaker presidents who left the nation bankrupt, its people deeply divided. its borders under attack, its capital city in ashes. Monroe took office determined to lead the nation to greatness by making the United States impregnable to foreign attack and ensuring the safety of Americans across the face of the continent. He expanded the nation’s military and naval power, then sent American troops to rip Florida and parts of the West from the Spanish, extending the nation’s natural defenses to the Rocky Mountains in the West, and the rivers, lakes and oceans of the nation’s other borders. …
Monroe’s presidency made poor men rich, turned political enemies into friends, and united a divided people as no president had done since Washington. The most beloved president after Washington, Monroe was the only other president besides Washington to win re-election unopposed. Political parties dissolved and disappeared. Americans of all political persuasions rallied around him under a single “Star-Spangled Banner”. He created an era never seen before or since in American History–an “Era of Good Feelings” that propelled the nation and its people to greatness.
Secure about America’s military and naval power, Monroe climaxed his presidency–and startled the world by issuing the most important political manifesto in American History after the Declaration of Independence; the Monroe Doctrine. In it, Monroe unilaterally declared an end to foreign colonization in the New World and warned the Old World that the United States would no longer tolerate foreign incursions in the Americas. In effect, he used diplomatic terms to paraphrase the rattlesnake’s stark warning on the flag of his Virginia regiment in the Revolutionary War: “Don’t Tread on Me!””…….
Remind you of anyone?
This one aspect where Trump has overstepped his authority. Leave the Panamians alone. They have actually tried to halt migration through the Darian Gap, only to have the US renege on it’s promised support.
wrong
Trump is not overstepping and he is doing the right thing for this country.
stop pretending
Panama hasn’t halted anything!
Panama was born in sin, and is still a den of iniquity.
“You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.”
In 2016, The Panama Papers exposed a sliver of the corruption. Mossack Fonseca had set up at least a 1/4M shell companies there. Many honorables here were involved, direct and indirect. Money laundering and tax/tarriff evasion are big sellers as we know.
They also sell with drug traffickers, human traffickers, and other charter members of the wretched hive.
Notice how quickly all that got memory holed? Lawfare plays defense too, not just offense. And it’s international.
Trump’s smashing a club down onto this cesspit. A simple act, but it’s to get at a very complex problem. It’s not just about a canal, to say no more. The many colonies of rats there will scatter temporarily, yes, but they will reform. Let’s see if we can exterminate some along the way.
Border security, national security, national interests, helping Mexico help us… lots of good stuff in play here.
A pretender.
I personally DON’T think that we should go back to “the Canal Zone.” (Sorry, Donald.)
But there is another engineering-feasible route that passes through Guatemala. Perhaps more attention should be paid to that concept. The Panama Canal IS a bottleneck …
I am all for alternate routes, but Chinas got to go.
Sounds like a good idea….🤔🤔
China stays in their area
We stay in ours.
We close our ports over there.
They close the ports they have over here.
🤷♀️ 💁 🤷♀️
Appears that “bottleneck “ is/has been addressed
😖 🥴 By China.

“… whereas the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it.”
Robert E. Lee to Lord Acton
I do not support Trump on this. It does not nothing but complicate the undoing of other unconstitutional foreign adventures and undoing the growing despotism at home.
For now, I will chuck this as Trump’s bombastic speech pattern but these uSA’s are not the global world’s government – it is not to be another Rome.
Lord Acton
https://www.britannica.com/biography/John-Emerich-Edward-Dalberg-Acton-1st-Baron-Acton
I do not worship President Trump, but have come to trust that his instincts are usually sound, and grounded in solid reasoning.
Lord Acton had interesting observations over the role of religious morality in culture, and conscience being critical to good government. What has been happening in the United States over the decades is corruption posing with a coverup of “morality” and I do not trust that. Good conscience requires scrupulous honesty. Our media, movies and educational institutions have been disseminating propaganda instead of honest history.
Once again President Trump is exposing the enemy by putting himself in the “Bully” chair. He’s giving the “appearance of being a bully” saying we are going to reclaim ownership of the canal simply to highlight the fact that the canal is already “owned” by other actual bullies.
He draws this comment from the Panamanian leader. That very comment will be used to “liberate” the Panamanians from their current “occupying” bully.
The only thing that we don’t know is whether or not this Panamanian leader is actually working with President Trump and crew in this cleanup operation or if he’s about to get completely exposed.
We’ll see what happens.
Never forget Pres Donald’s roots: real estate. He more than anyone who ever served in this once esteemed office not only understands every aspect of real estate he has the skills, knowledge & waywithall to execute transactions. A significant underlying component of everything is real estate. From good lease terms on the corner candy store, decent terms on a home mortgage, to good terms on a strategically vital land mass, real estate is as key as food & clothing.
Pres T’s vision for the US in many respects is distilled down to real property. If his visions and his understanding manifest, the quality of life for Americans will rise to historic heights, elevating even those who, beyond opposing him, would punish him any way they could. Greenland, the canal, strategic military positions, mineral positions, and the natural love of their country in the hearts of every human on earth with a sense of self preservation are imbued in his vision. Re real estate he is a genius. Let his genius soar.
O.K., so I start the discussion/negotiation at 1 and you respond at 10. Now how do we get close to 5? Standard business tactics for #47.
I’m no foriegn policy expert but these “people” on the world stage only snap when they’re cornered
Methinks the Melino protests too much!
Yes.
This is the best thing that has happened to the People of Panama in a long time.
On January 13, 1978, during Congressional debate on the future of the Panama Canal, Ronald Reagan spoke out against the US giving up the canal.
With the sudden bru haha…all the responses on other web sites, too….are leaving me with a pro American emotion re the Canal…
Pray tell, where were these people, in the late 60’s or early 70’s?
No one was forward thinking…except Henry Kissinger and his goals were different…
“They” could not be forward thinking, because they had been miseducated into confusion and delusions. The leadership generally has all sorts of credentials but precious little common sense. May that change under President Trump
Another gift of Jimmah Caarter that keeps on giving together with the Dept. of Education (?) and FEMA.
I am pleased to announce Mauricio Claver-Carone as the State Department’s Special Envoy for Latin America.
Rubio’s portfolio keeps shrinking.
Just wait, He is going to end up in a office somewhere with no official business to do but counting paperclips or other.
He’ll get to hang out with the EU members at WEF symposiums.
Trump resurrects idea of buying Greenland
Controlling the world’s largest island is an “absolute necessity” for the US, the president-elect has said
Trump, however, returned to the idea of the US acquiring the autonomous territory in a post on his TruthSocial platform on Sunday. “For purposes of national security and freedom throughout the world, the US feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity,” he wrote.
In the same message, the US president-elect named PayPal co-founder Ken Howery as his pick for Washington’s ambassador to Denmark.😉

In President Trump’s statement on the Panama Canal from a few days ago, notice his repeated mention of the importance of the Panama Canal to our U.S. Navy.
We think of the Panama Canal as being needed for commerce, America’s Economy. However, it is being labelled by President Trump as “a VITAL National Asset”. That places it in a strategic national defense category. As he states, National Security. It is no different than other U.S. strategic defense assets.
@realDonaldTrump
The Panama Canal is considered a VITAL National Asset for the United States, due to its critical role to America’s Economy and National Security. A secure Panama Canal is crucial for U.S. Commerce, and rapid deployment of the Navy, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and drastically cuts shipping times to U.S. ports. The United States is the Number One user of the Canal, with over 70 percent of all transits heading to, or from, U.S. ports. Considered one of the Wonders of the Modern World, the Panama Canal opened for business 110 years ago, and was built at HUGE cost to the United States in lives and treasure – 38,000 American men died from infected mosquitos in the jungles during construction. Teddy Roosevelt was President of the United States at the time of its building, and understood the strength of Naval Power and Trade. When President Jimmy Carter foolishly gave it away, for One Dollar, during his term in Office, it was solely for Panama to manage, not China, or anyone else. It was likewise not given for Panama to charge the United States, its Navy, and corporations, doing business within our Country, exorbitant prices and rates of passage. Our Navy and Commerce have been treated in a very unfair and injudicious way. The fees being charged by Panama are ridiculous, especially knowing the extraordinary generosity that has been bestowed to Panama by the U.S. This complete “rip-off” of our Country will immediately stop….

I wonder how the president plans to get the canal back. Claim the CCP has control of it and use the Neutrality Treaty?
I wonder if the US could build a new canal quickly and reasonably affordable with today’s technology?
Find a new Central American partner and sign an irrevocable lifetime treaty.
Do something like excavate tunnels under the landmass (Musk’s Boring Company?) and then blow them up causing the ground to collapse, creating a deep enough canyon for ship traffic that’s then flooded with ocean water.
Maybe leverage to force Panama to stop illegals from crossing the country?
If the Panamanian president is truly looking after his country’s best interest, you have to respect him for it. However, our president will look after our country’s best interest as well. That’s the way it should be.

Easy solution: Just make Panama the 52nd state!
