If the government “shuts down” but nobody notices, is it really a shutdown?
After a group of 38 republicans aligned with almost all democrats in the house, the effort to raise the debt ceiling and fund government failed.
Unbeknownst to most, the debt ceiling was suspended in Jun of 2023. As a result, Joe Biden and congress could spend on Ukraine without worry about the debt ceiling being a hurdle. The UniParty suspended the debt ceiling with a purpose.
Starting Jan 1st, 2025, the debt ceiling issue is scheduled to return. National debt will be whatever it was when the debt ceiling was suspended plus whatever spending Biden and the UniParty did since June of 2023. A new debt ceiling is estimated to be hit by June of 2025 or earlier.
President Trump told Speaker Mike Johnson -using the CR as a vehicle- to push the restart of the debt ceiling back for 2 years. This would allow for continuance of the tax cuts that President Trump wants to make; plus, economic drivers like no tax on tips, no tax on social security, no tax on overtime, a 15% tax bracket for companies who build, invest and manufacture in the USA. Expanding the economy is the goal.
Our government considers tax cuts as government spending. So, if congress does $4 trillion in tax cuts, the government considers that $4 trillion in additional spending.
The debt ceiling reinitiating next year will make President Trump have to figure out how to pass the tax cuts without going over the debt ceiling and triggering a default.
By not moving the non-existent debt ceiling back two more years, the 38 “true conservatives” stopped the American people from getting more of our money returned via tax cuts and they keep more money in the government.
DOGE was planned to come in under the Trump plan to reduce the size of government at the same time ultimately addressing the issue of the 38 conservatives.
WASHINGTON DC – […] Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) told a gaggle of reporters outside of the speaker’s office that the bill they plan to put forth would likely be similar to the Donald Trump-backed version that failed on the House floor by a wide margin Thursday evening. She said the vote was planned for 10 a.m.
“I think we’re very close to a deal,” she said, adding that it’s “very close to President Trump’s plan yesterday.”
Johnson and House conservatives are huddling in his office Friday morning as a government shutdown deadline looms in less than 24 hours. Separately, House Democrats are scheduled to have a closed-door meeting later in the morning as they wait to see what happens next. (more)
Panic! Government will shut down if Congress doesn’t pass a funding bill!
That’s how most media cover it.
But during previous shut downs, what terrible things happened? None!
Life went on. Government demonstrated how needless most of it is.
I made this video about that: pic.twitter.com/NIPYeO2r6X

Now the discussion is just what should be part of the 1500 page pork bill.
Instead of a discussion on how to legislate properly and table individual bills.
Broken system.
I am sure something will get passed on December 24th so that everyone can go home and spend time with their family. The only sad thing is we have to endure the drama until the 24th. We were in the same situation last year. The year before. The year before. The year before. You get the drift.
The only difference is they added 400 more pages of pork vs last years 1100 pager.
Hard to be in politics.
The grift is the drift.
I think they all should be replaced. They play a game where some are allowed to be the big I am and vote against it but we still get screwed.
Throw them out with them clinging to their Pork!
Corrupt bunch of heathens care nothing about the country!
This is how the MOB keeps their books, in order to fool the Feds.
What. A. Scam.
If you really want to know what’s going on, just follow the money. Eventually, it will lead you to all the guilty parties.
All 535 of them….yep!
Thats just the tip of the iceberg.
Add to that all the top managers of the Intel agencies and the FBI, the DOJ, and all of the heads of the Executive Branch agencies and departments. (IRS, HHS, DHS, etc etc.)
Then you can start going thru the middle management in the Executive branch agencies/ departments and even much of the rank-and-file.
Wow, I must not have been paying attention at all! I had no idea the government counts tax cuts as additional government spending. Each Congressman should explain this to their constituents in their weekly newsletters so we all can be equally angry. If I take a pay cut, I either reduce expenses, find another job or take on extra work. I don’t record the shortfall as spending. My opinion of the government has reached a new low – this is just ridiculous.
It seems citizens (especially me) should take a remedial course on how the government works before we vote again! I hate to think what else I don’t know! Oh but wait, they must be counting on the fact that these days it’s nearly impossible to be the ‘alert and knowledgeable citizen’ Eisenhower exhorted us to be back in 1961.
Wow,, how nice your elected grifter sends you a weekly newsletter.
I get a random email from both my D Senator and my R Rep that is usually filled with them patting themselves on their backs for all the hard work they do “fighting” for me. GMAFB.
Meanwhile they are busy grifting and inside trading to load up their off shore banks accounts.
It seems
citizensgovernment workers (especiallymeelected ones) should take a remedial course on how thegovernmenteconomy and financial institutions works before we allow them tovoteenter their(our) offices again!“..I had no idea the government counts tax cuts as additional government spending.”
The DemonRats have been using that “word slickery” on the uninformed public since the ’80s. I remember Rush Limbaugh used to jump all over that absurd claim every time it appeared in any political news…
Been around longer than “Pro-Choice”, the “word slickery” that gets around “Pro Baby Murder”.
“Unbeknownst to most, the debt ceiling was suspended in Jun of 2023. As a result, Joe Biden and congress could spend on Ukraine without worry about the debt ceiling being a hurdle. The UniParty suspended the debt ceiling with a purpose.”
These elected AH’s deserve to be ousted.
We need term limits.
WE need arrests.
Even better!!!!!
Amen WSB!
Another laundromat to grease their palms for the holiday?
To think that my Natal chart says politics would fit me to a “T” I thank my lucky stars I never had an urge to be a politician. I kinda wonder how many politicians were Eagle Scouts? The first law of Scouts is Trustworthy! Very few of them fit that mold! I can count them on one hand and have fingers left over!
It’s all Harry Reid’s fault.
Well, did you really expect that these people would spend millions of dollars to get elected then maintain two homes with one in Northern Virginia the most expensive real estate on the East Coast, pay Washington DC income tax plus having to send their kids to expensive private schools at $30,000 a pop all for $175,000 a year?
They typically spend other people’s money to get elected.
OK, then. How about “did you really expect sleazy lawyers to give up their $300K salaries for a $175k a year job?”
Republicans are for the most part idiots. You never see House Democrats reject anything that Pelosi, Biden or Obama wanted done!
Republicans are for the most part
idiotsthe controlled opposition. Controlled by the democrat wing of the uniparty.Exactly! My wife has said that most Republicans are really Democrats who run for election in White suburban districts!
Very wise wife. Marry Christmas to you and her.
Well said. They want you us to accept the explanation that they are “idiots”.
Sticks and stones may break their bones, but names will never stop their grift.
Not true, and your still thinking in old “R vs D” mode, and not embracing the Uniparty concept.
Remember when Dems controlled both Houses and so activists were screaming for them to repeal the fillibuster rule, so they could ram thru their radical progressive agenda?
And, Manchin and Synema took on the roles of Collins and Murkowski, only of coarse for the Dems.
It was an exact same play as repealing Obamacare, only flipped.
You see the Uniparty leadership does not want the fillibuster rule repealed, because that enables the leadership to maimtain control over what bills pass, and maintain the illusion of a two party system .
Theives stick together.
Hi CJ I guess you already know that the RINO Reps. are Not idiots but covertly COMPLICIT. Every time. All the time. There isn’t 1 hair on them of idiocity. IT IS ALL COMPLICITY.
I am hopeful.
I feel like this is the first time since Reagan that the Executive Branch is in this game on our side.
So it would seem to me that the Freedom Caucus isn’t going to support any omnibus by any other name, and Democrats want the lions share of the rewards for help passing it. The Republican party can always snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I swear even if they had every seat in Congress they would find a way to defeat their own votes.
https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2024/12/20/congress/house-gop-moves-forward-on-new-funding-plan-00195660
Winky wants a word.
Also 36T Hamburgers.
According to this article, the “handshake deal” would pair lifting the debt ceiling limit by $1.5T with a cut in “mandatory” spending by $2.5T. “Mandatory” spending = entitlement programs. This would completely derail President Trump’s agenda. From day one, President Trump has promised not to touch social security, medicare, and medicaid. If the 30 or so holdouts in the republican party hijack President Trump’s agenda by making demands on entitlement programs, MAGA progress will grind to a halt and dems will sweep the midterms. I doubt President Trump will let this happen and this “handshake deal” is effectively DOA.
(And yes, entitlement programs will likely have to be addressed — but Steve Bannon has this one right, to keep trust with American people, republicans have to attack every possible other budget item first, and make a slew of other fixes to show they are serious, and *then* look at restructuring entitlement programs. Most people feel that if they’ve been paying into SS and medicare their whole working lives it operates like a contract and they shouldn’t have it dissolved out from under them. Fair minds can disagree on how to handle — but it’s NOT a political winner and not what Trump ran or won on.)
Speaking of SS and Medicare/Medicaid, if white males under 60 can’t access one dime of benefits when desperate, why should we have to pay for such a system when and if we are able to work again?
Hmmm.. I guess I have to eat a bit of crow on my previous comments about this issue. I don’t know what the right answer is but now have a better understanding of the issue.
If our representatives were worth a darn, they could put it in separate bills and vote according to the bills merit or lack thereof.
But they are not.
Actually, PDJT has gone farther than that.
As the ONLY candidate of either party that has vowed not to touch SS or Medicare, he’s made it pretty clear;
Give him what he needs to fix the economy, both with drill baby, drill and with reciprocal tariffs, and tax cuts and this country will be so awash in wealth we will easily be able to pay off the debt AND secure our entitlement programs.
Glad PDJT will keep SS and Medicare safe. I realize it wasn’t meant to be a permanent thing. But things as they turned out for me. Worked very hard, then retired and if it wasn’t for SS and Medicare I would have lost everything, my home etc. Sure, I would’ve found a job for minimum wage but would’ve lost our home, cars etc. Thank you VSGPDJT for keeping those safe.
Exactly. You’re right, I had kind of forgotten his brilliant take on this, and it makes everyone else look like small minded idiots.
It seems like there’s a tranche of republican members — some overlap with the Uniparty/RINOS but not entirely — who are hellbent on eliminating any part of the “safety net” but they are totally misguided and politically illiterate if they think Americans view programs that people pay into over time and use, as essentially the same thing as free handouts for people not working or contributing to society. Not the same thing. Should be obvious. But boy it seems like some of the Ryan/Boehner “austerity” crowd thinks maybe this Trump wave is their moment …. they need to be quickly put in their place.
And those of us who detached from employers to work for ourselves as solo independent contractors, paid 100% of FICA, AKA “self-employment tax.” So no way would I support breach of that contract.
Isn’t the original law regarding the Enacting Clause
supposed to be that, that each is supposed to be about
one single subject matter? Plain And Simple? On its face,
therefore making it so Not Confusing?
Unless, they like to Confuse things, contrary to its original
intent.
Looks like the Plan C bill is going to pass as the Dems are all voting for it.
Has anyone even read it?
I hate them……..they always give it ALL away. I literally can’t stand them at this point. Is there even a reason to vote or care for anything in this country now? They literally GAVE IT ALL AWAY
so the Dems get ALL they want again ………this bill protects Liz Cheney, Biden, all the cronies who need sent to jail and investigated. What do we get????????????????????????
This is NOT the 1500 page piece of pond scum.
But I’ve not been able to find a source for what’s in THIS much smaller CR.
Now this is where I would differ. I would ask the Court for a declatory judgment that the word “spending” as currently used by the CBO for budget scoring is incorrect. I would ask the Court to define “spending” as actual payments or remittances approved by Congress in a budget Act and actually “spent.” Not a reduction in revenue like a tax cut. Once ordered, the tax cuts are no longer hamstrung by this ridiculous “spending” definition.
But here is the best part: we are likely over the national debt ceiling. Well, we MUST get below it by cutting all government programs until we get there in THIS Congress. And that includes all tax revenues, which means social security, medicare, Obamacare, etc., etc.
Yeah, now we are talking DOGE baby!
Now imagine how focused the Congressional mind becomes when citizens look around and ask, “Well, who is paying the military? The Border Patrol? Inspecting the food supply?” No one, so get busy reconstituting the parts of the budget that are in the Constitution!
Apparently the 2/3 vote needed refers to the number of US Representatives who SHOW UP to vote today, not the 435 Representatives in Congress.
That is correct.
31 brave republicans vote against so far but it will pass unfortunately
Those 31 (now 34) “brave” republicans should have voted for the 2nd bill (the one that Trump proposed), and then it could have been passed WITHOUT democrat input.
By opposing the 2nd bill, these “brave” republicans are doing their playacting role in the Uniparty.
Bottom line: these 34 “true” conservatives OPPOSED President Trump’s agenda by opposing his second bill.
please call me Crazy
I have a VERY BAD gut feeling
what has been coming over the border??
male military aged CHINESE
the drones are from CHINA
the government shutdown has been planned ahead of time
Joe will get removed for Kneepad Kamala
Christmas is here with a target rich environment
China pulls a Christmas day attack on something like the Christmas mass
or a LARGE Hanukkah celebration.
Government response is horrible blamed on shutdown
state of Emergency declared
the Drunk now runs the country
your imagination call fill in the rest
mine has been overactive from all that is going on and I’m praying
that its me being crazy then something logical.
This is what I’ve been worried about the whole time. Even in best of circumstances, a transition of power is the MOST vulnerable time for any nation. We’re at war. Our president is senile. Add a government shutdown over the holiday? People are crazy not to worry. We are more vulnerable right now than perhaps we’ve ever been as a nation. Now until Jan. 20.
how come almost NOBODY is connecting the dots
I’ve heard every reason for the drones in the media
except CHINA
China is in much worse shape than we are
and if they go down the government goes with it.
they will do everything and anything to keep power
I am trying to “keep it between the ditches” with my “reality theories” of late. These past few weeks have felt like a fever dream and I am sure the next few won’t be any better. You aren’t the only one on Uneasy Street, ojf.
The good thing is, that this time we have a SEASONED LION of a man and a VERY SANE GENIOUS OF A PRESIDENT DONALD J TRUMP at the helm! Thank you God for PJDT.
IMHO our transition time of 2 1/2 months is much too long. I hope VSGPDJT will address that as one of the first things to be changed. Maybe DOGO can check and see how to shorten the unnecessary $$ expense and ridiculous length for the Transition of Power.
Wow! When you fall apart you don’t mess around.
Please catch me back up to speed. I had to run errands and came back to find debate ongoing.
Are the congressmen voting to pass a big fat spending bill with increased disaster money and ag money but no debt ceiling?
Surely that cannot be right.
34 republicans against
St so far
Never enough votes
scum Democrats with help of GOP will handstring POTUS …
they’ll try to derail him with entitlement cuts
I’m sure that he, Elon and Vivek are already working hard to figure this out. He wasn’t born yesterday and he has a two people on his side that want to do right by the people

Bah Dumbug…
is this a real BRANDON??????
close enough
https://www.texastribune.org/2023/10/31/kay-granger-congress-texas-expected-stepping-down/
She didn’t seek re-election, so she is gone.
Is this a joke?!
Not a joke.
I looked up her voting record on her own congressional webpage. The last vote she cast was on July 24, 2024.
https://kaygranger.house.gov/votes-and-legislation
House Appropriations Chairwoman WAS Kay Granger
this is part of the reason NOTHING was done
What Socrates said about democracy more than 2000 years ago.
He said that demoracy must fall because it will try to tailor to everyone.
The poor will want the wealth of the rich, and democracy will give it to them.
Young people will want to be respected as elderly and democracy will give it to them.
Women will want to be like men and democracy will give it to them
Foreigners will want the rights of the natives and democracy will give it to them.
Thieves and fraudsters will want important government functions, and democracy will give it to them.
And at that time, when thieves and fraudsters finally democratically take authority because criminals and evil doers want power, there will be worse dictatorship than in the time of any monarchy or oligarchy.
Socrates (470-399 b.c.)

The CR bill changes the definition and Broaden’s the Scope of a “United States person” to include anyone present in the U.S., not just citizens or permanent residents.
Frigging bastards
This gives the Uniparty the blanket amnesty they have desired for the longest time. As, if I’m reading correctly, this will give illegal aliens voting rights and allow the uniparty ease to overturn everything the people have worked so hard to achieve.
This also screws over Trump because it means any person who crosses the border is already a ‘citizen’ and can’t be deported.
The entire bill was rewritten to screw over Trump and everything he wants to do. And it was the Uniparty republicans who stabbed his back and are now twisting the knife.
Amnesty by change of definition. Moving the goalposts without having to play the game.
How are getting that?
It says: “(10) UNITED STATES PERSON.- The term ‘United States person’ means-
“(A) any United States citizen {OR !!!!! OR !!!} or an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence to the United States.”
Almost all the illegal aliens admitted to the US since our border disappeared have come in illegally and are awaiting a hearing. That sentence makes a distinction between US Citizens and aliens who are not yet citizens. Only US Citizens can vote.
What makes you think that when all the illegals are rounded up that they won’t have some sort of hearing? You can’t deport someone without a quick hearing.
Then democrats will immediately begin positioning any and all “United States persons” to be able to vote.
Whether they are here legally or not.
No way republicans are this stupid.
They are complicit.
Does anyone know exactly what the House just passed?
a sh*% sammich…look up above at what was included in it …….. a change to who is considered a US person……..ANYONE who is “here”
WTF is going on????
How can this be happening?
Once this is signed into law it is OVER folks. We have lost this country.
All via MIKE JOHNSON’s sorry ARSE ……..and the GOP who loves to take out the citizens of this country and replace them.
I hate them, I literally hate their guts with the heat of a thousand suns
You, I, and several million others, treeper sister.
WHITE. HOT. ANGER.
WTH does the CIA have on Mike Johnson? This slimy, spineless little weasel needs to be removed.
The country is not done, not yet anyway.
It is more than just a place, and greater than a select number of people. America was a product of philosophy. An idea given form.
That idea will not die until there are none left willing to defend it and pass it on to our descendents.
I don’t know all of the what the future holds, only that giving up on it will secure nothing and condemn our posterity to a worse fate.
Amen!
Supposedly, it is the slimmed down version that they voted down yesterday… but without the debt ceiling change. They haven’t uploaded it yet so no idea what is in it.
Thank you for your response!
The spending office has passed the monster bill.
“This Thing Is Going To Pass Easily”: Dems Support Latest GOP Package As Voting Continues | ZeroHedge
So in the Democrat (I guess uniparty is a better term) Pork CR – Slim version,
Did they include the legislative branch hiding all communications? Or did that get removed?
“After Lying That Trump Wants to Cut Social Security, Dems Rush Bill That Will Cut Benefits – Need Biden to Sign Before Trump Arrives”
“Democrats have been caught doing the very thing they’ve been accusing President-elect Donald Trump of doing: Cutting Social Security.
On Wednesday, the U.K. Daily Mail reported Senate Democrats are trying to push through a Social Security reform bill they want to see signed by President Joe Biden before Trump takes office.
The Social Security Fairness Act aims to repeal provisions that reduce payouts to public sector employees like police officers, firefighters, teachers, and post workers. The Mail cites The Committee for a Responsible Budget in their article, and that group states this would make Social Security insolvent six months earlier than current projections by giving increased benefits to 3 million people who paid into their state or local pensions that did not pay Social Security.”
https://www.westernjournal.com/lying-trump-wants-cut-social-security-dems-rush-bill-will-cut-benefits-need-biden-sign-trump-arrives/
UTTER SCUMBAGS, the entire lot of them.
The Fairness Act does NOT give SS to those who DID NOT pay into it. Instead, it ensures that those who paid into both Public pension AND SS do not get their benefits reduced based on the other pension. They will be treated like everyone else claiming SS.
Say it again, louder, please, for those in the back row who keep misrepresenting what this bill does!! There are a couple of million people in this country (including my husband, a retired firefighter) who paid into TWO different systems during their lifetime but are significantly penalized when they attempt to draw the PROMISED amount out of SS upon retirement!
In my husband’s case, he worked for a dozen years in the private sector before becoming a firefighter. He paid into SS during that time but then started paying into the state pension fund for police officers and firefighters during the 31 years he served to protect his community! Yes, he draws a pension…BUT, if he tries to start collecting his Social Security (which would only be based on the time that he worked in the private sector) his payment is reduced by over 60%, simply because he draws a government pension!
If someone is in the military and earns a VA pension, and then goes to work in a private sector job, they collect benefits from BOTH systems, because they worked in BOTH systems, as it should be!
No one is asking to receive Social Security if they didn’t pay into it – they are simply asking to receive the benefits that they were promised at the time that they paid into the system.
No, Im aware that I too, pay into two systems and receive no benefits from it.
See, I pay property taxes that public schools use, but I send my kids to a private school. I do so, because public schools are terrible. The cost will be roughly 90k per child for k-12 and I have two kids.
SS is a ponzi scheme in the private sector
I too pay property taxes for the public school system but I homeschooled my children. This is certainly a valid point of discussion but has nothing to do with this bill!
I hate that my property tax funds illegal immigrants to get an education! I also hate that anyone falling on hard times can lose a home they paid for just because they can’t afford to send illegal immigrants to school next year!
Abolish property tax. At least the hardworking man can keep his roof, even if he can’t eat!
What I posted is quoted directly from the article.. Take it up with the reporters.
My personal experience via my relatives and friends who worked for the county, state or federal gov’t. has been that state and local pensions & retirement benefits were always far more generous than the private sector pensions for general workers (excluding the top corporate officers) with which I was familiar.
I personally think too many ppl have been double-dipping the gov’t. by taking SS payments along with other forms of gov’t. payouts. I won’t argue generalities here about what has been “earned” or not, because almost every individual case is unique and has to be addressed based on its on unique history and merits.
Yes, GB, I knew it was the reporter saying it… and that is who I was responding to. All the reports by the MSM are saying the same thing, and they are wrong.
Understood on rest of your post.
👍
If you are forced to pay into a system that only benefits others, it should be abolished.
If everyone had a high interest savings account solely for health and retirement, and it kept pace with inflation, and that no one but the investor could touch, they could live like millionaires! Not everyone eats crap, smokes, or gets fat. Those kind of people will rarely need health intervention, and that money saved on being healthy gives them a healthier pension.
Make people responsible for their life choices.
Dear Lord help me not hate.
These people are depriving Americans of justice, fair play, and the right to pursue life, liberty, and happiness. I truly, honestly, wish they would be deprived of air to breathe and so send a message to all who’d engage in this knd of f—ery again.
Any bill to keep the government funded will still need approval from the Democratic-controlled Senate and President Biden…..
I believe this is what just passed: https://punchbowl.news/ara-12-20/
I don’t know anything about what passed but I will say this.
The democrats did not vote %100 for the bill just to wind up with nothing.
There is a big steaming, stinking pile in there somewhere.
Every single Politician in DC should be thrown out on their asses. All they are good at is lining their pockets with the MONEY they steal from us. Viveck and Musk should publish a report on all the Politicians in DC and show what they were worth when they first got to DC and what they are worth now and show us where they made their money. This would totally piss off MAGA and show the Country how crooked they are.
Any bill to keep the government funded will still need approval from the Democratic-controlled Senate and President Biden.
So what in the SamSnot is with 29 house members(15 R’s, 14 D’s) not voting at all? They went home early? They did not think this was an important bill? They don’t want to go on record? I just don’t get it. I reckon I’ll have to wait until the Congressional Record is published to find out who they were.
Pelosi is recovering from hip surgery.
Gaetz resigned from the 118th congress.
Schiff resigned from the House and was sworn into the senate early after Laphonsa Butler resigned as a placeholder.
Kay Granger (as noted earlier in this thread) has not voted since July 24th. She is rumored to be living in a memory care facility.
I don’t know about the others.
So….we have 170 RINO traitors who’d rather subvert and further destroy America than restore America. Every one of those dirty rats needs to feel the anger and heat of f–ked over Americans.
Press Secretary Musk 😉
Claudia Tenney: “This is a chess game. This isn’t a bludgeon game. Donald Trump can sit on Truth Social all day and say whatever he wants. It didn’t persuade anybody.”
What a B!tch thing to say! CONGRESS, they are the worst of humankind. Well at least we know who the snakes are and who’s going to undermine Trump.
Hope she’s on Elon’s list to primary and for sure hope TRUMP calls them ALL out. Don’t let them get away with their disrespect and downright LIES!
I warned people about her in the primary with Fratto but she had the Trump endorsement and won handily. A New York RINO through and through.
You are just learning about NewYork’s sweet Claudia???😂🙄
Are you kidding? I sensed she was untrustworthy the first time I heard her speak. Unfortunately do to redistricting, I’m stuck with her for this term.
“This is a chess game”… please… stop… truly insulting. It’s simple, dirt-pile politics, arm-twisting, and self-preservation. Oh, AND EVERYBODY WANTS TO FLY HOME FOR EGG NOG. Chess… seriously…
As far as Tenney saying that President Trump’s words did not persuade anybody, she may be right in that the ONLY thing that seems to persuade her congressional colleagues are huge amounts of cash and campaign contributions from lobbyists and corporate sponsors. That’s the kind of persuasion they answer to.
She should not be so loud in telling her constituents that she doesn’t listen to PDJT.
On the contrary, I believe Claudia should just let it rip!!!
Call out Trump and his mindless Truth Social Posts!!
You go Claudia! Right Girl…!😂😉🙄
I vote shut it down for at least 6 months. Then whatever has not been noticed by the MAJORITY of the public, let it stay closed.
I’d say much more but I’d get into a very nasty battle about handouts.
We all think illegals get big money but it’s penny’s compared to much of the waste.
One big verse in the bible (some get more relevant in certain seasons) “those who don’t work don’t eat” congress is the first place to get on a fast.
Jesus despised religion, religion is government. Idiots ruling over society for their gain our demise.
It won’t matter if Chuckie doesn’t want it to pass the Senate
My question is what is in rhe bill that the House passed.
PS I remember years ago “earmarks” were considered anathema. What happened?
MIKE JOHNSON CAVED AGAIN: Breaks Promise on Split Spending Bills, Excludes Trump’s Demand for a Debt Ceiling Increase in Backroom Deal with Democrats to Avoid Shutdown
Why would anyone believe something so full of emotionally manipulative words but no source that can be personally read, vetted and evaluated?
Additionally, PsyWarfare savvy and Realpolitik mature Americans who are committed to helping rather than harming President Trump have will wait for his analysis of the vote AND Mike Johnsons performance; analysis guidance they know by now he WILL provide.
Right now, with so much at stake, hopefully more and more people will heed the old warning that “haste .makes waste”, including “haste”that leads to pouncing on psyop bait, premature opining and/or inadvertent psyop spreading.
Johnson is a dirty little rat. Just like the ‘US airman’ in Stalag 17 who was head of allied “security” but was really a Nazi spy. The GI’s gave that dirty rat exactly what he deserved.
Johnson needs to get exactly what he deserves for being a traitor to MAGA and the American people, even those who aren’t MAGA but would’ve benefitted from Trump and Musk’s bill.
Vote this POS out of Speaker and out of the House. Never let him anywhere near Congress again. If he tries, take him to the swamps.
Senate Dems are crying over Soc Security Benefits they say will go down in this CR, they are stoooopid
Today was a good reminder that simply refusing to sign a budget, and allowing the government to close for several months, would provide a huge amount of useful data for the DOGE…
Remember, they made everyone “essential” because each government shutdown proved that nobody actually noticed the difference.
Here are a few of the GOP no votes responses:
Rep. Michael Cloud wrote, “Folks who claim House Conservatives aren’t backing President Trump are missing the point. The issue is not with President Trump at all. We are the ones who most support his agenda here. We’re trying to protect the chance to implement it next year. The issue here is with a Washington establishment who claims to be pro-Trump and then never actually follows through when the time comes. Cutting spending, building the wall, ending pointless wars — all things the Swamp says they want to do and then makes excuses for later. We want actual commitments that they’ll pass President Trump’s policies rather than saying one thing at Christmas and then making excuses when it’s time to deliver. We’re working on that and making progress.”
Rep. Tim Burchett wrote, “We got played. No Democrats voted against it. More voted for it than Republicans.”
Rep. Josh Brecheen wrote, “My conscience led me to a “no” as the bill increases spending by over 100 billion and does NOT offer real spending cuts, therefore allowing inflation to continue. My mind is on all Oklahoma families, farmers, and ranchers who have lost approximately 20 percent of their purchasing power since 2020 because of Congress’s continual deficit spending.”
Rep. Michael Cloud wrote, “Folks who claim House Conservatives aren’t backing President Trump are missing the point. The issue is not with President Trump at all. We are the ones who most support his agenda here. We’re trying to protect the chance to implement it next year. ”

What?
How is Cloud helping Trump by opposing his bill?
Cloud should have voted to suspend the debt limit, so President Trump can implement his tax cuts for the middle class.
What President Trump has to say about this is the only thing that matters. I want to hear what the head coach says and not a 3rd string waterboy or groundskeeper Willy.
I thought we elected President Trump and we trusted HIM???
I’m relaxed because I trust President Trump and if people can’t or won’t trust our president then there are plenty of narcotics and alcohol to see you through.
Thanks so much for sharing these 3 examples of how still stuck in the Bush era “principled conservative” DC politicians attempt to protect themselves with distraction and deflection word spells in the Trump era.
Rep Cloud:: Stop criticizing us! WE are the House Reps “who most support his (PDJTs) agenda”
(by NOT voting the way he asked us to vote and by not working as part of his team (the way successful Democrat teams do). 😂😂😂
Rep Burchett: OMG “we got played”.
(Duh. President Trump told Rep B, and everyone else, that this would be the first result of their I-Know-Better stunt but he chose to ignored PDJT and listened to Massie and Chip instead.
Has Rep B learned enough to repent and start being a team player rather than continuing to be an easily chumped prima donna?
Hes definitely put himself in Team Trumps crosshairs even though its still 30 days until PDJTs Inauguration).
Rep Bresheen: “My conscience lead me to a ‘no'”.
(If so, its obviously time to trade in that faulty ” conscience” and get an upgrade stat. Imagine using this sanctimonious excuse in any other situation; especially ones that require effective teamwork and where LIVES are literally at stake.
Thinking about OK “families, farmers and ranchers” and their past suffering made Re B vote no. At least he didn’t blame his dog.)
Maybe if we don’t give billions to other countries year after year we would have more money.
Hundreds of billions.
It sounds like GOP speaker gave the democrats an early Christmas present:
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2024/12/20/christmas-comes-early-for-democrats-house-passes-spending-bill-with-zero-democrat-nay-votes/
Yep.
Song and dance

If at first you don’t succeed . . .
(scratch that)
. . . fail,
then try, try again.
Republican moto.
The fact that all democrats voted for the latest bill tells you how bad it is.
Or how bad, for Democrats and their DC Republican allies, the previous bill was……
ie the previous bill that was endorsed by PDJT and his allies……
the bill Massie and Chips “principled fiscal conservatives” helped kill.
What was the ONE thing in the killed bill that Biden had while President and President Elect Trump said he wanted too; something that was not in the bill that passed with Democrat support?
Hmmmmmm.
Plan D bill that passed w 120 instead of 1547 pages still creates 110 billion of new debt – “The Firm” of Johnson, Schumer, Jeffries & McConnell had been scheming since Sept w 0 transparency, then presented a massive Democrat porky perks CR almost no one had time to read.
This feckless Congress cannot continue the Biden/Pelosi spending levels while creating new debt. As of 2025 the US will carry an interest rate of 1 trillion on a 36 trillion debt. It’s not sustainable! BALANCED BUDGET or BUST!
Is Johnson being blackmailed? He loved the fundraising $$$$ generated from the selfies w Trump and buddies. And for a guy who claims to be a patriot, christian, conservative and strongly bonded to Trump, what does Johnson get out of this???
“Is Johnson being blackmailed?”
To do what President Trump wants despite constant blowback from obvious foes plus self described PDJT allies?
I guess anything is possible no matter how unlikely.
Personally, if I was inclined to wonder about possibly blackmailed House Reps I’d start with the self described “principled conservative” Republicans who joined with Dems to kill the last CR bill rather than joining with President Trump and the majority of Republicans who voted to pass it.
So what cuts did you expect to see in a 3-month bill? Do you know what PDJT’s agenda is? Do you know that it is going to cost money to close the border and to get rid of the illegals that are here in the short run but will save money when the overload is gone? Do you understand that the work of DOGE will not start having results on January 20th? Nor even by the expiration of this bill? Do you know there will be costs to get our military in fighting and winning shape? Hopefully DOGE along with Hegseth will identify where all the waste is and end up reducing those costs, but it is not going to happen on Day 1.
Do you understand that everything that PDJT will want to implement will be obstructed by the Uniparty which includes both dems and repubs?
And are you complaining about the money going to the hurricane survivors that were already let down by the current clowns in charge?
We don’t know what PDJT will propose in his budget. So why would you be in favor of having the current crop of back-stabbing republicans to try to make cuts right now when they can do things that would hamper PDJT’s agenda?
