The 1,547 page “continuing resolution bill” is available for review HERE. They are calling this a “CR” (continuing resolution) bill to fund government. However, only approximately 10 pages (15 to 25) are the funding mechanism; the rest is a regulatory construct, an attempt to circumvent the Trump administration, and position the federal government to defend against structural changes President Trump is intending to initiate.
Within THE BILL, in an effort to force Republicans to support it, there is a section approximately 500 pages, that spends and directs $100 billion for disaster relief in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina following the devasting late season hurricanes. The disaster relief portion should be a stand-alone bill but is included in the massive omnibus spending package because it creates votes to support.
President Trump is well aware of the mechanics inside the Omnibus (CR) package and, together with Elon Musk, has announced his opposition to it.
President Trump is urging congress to pass only the portion of the bill that would tie up loose ends and keep government funded before he takes office next month. His direction is to raise the government’s borrowing authority –debt ceiling– and extending government funding.
Doing a short-term funding CR means lawmakers must strip out all the non-funding elements backed by Democrats. This would allow only Republicans to pass the bill. The stuff Democrats want would be removed. Currently the Democrats are aligned to support the bill and vote for it because the majority of the bill is toxic regulatory changes.

The current bill would fund government agencies at current levels and provide $100 billion for disaster relief and $10 billion in farm aid. It also includes a wide range of unrelated provisions, such as a pay raise for lawmakers and a crackdown on hidden hotel fees.
Trump said Congress should limit the bill to temporary spending and disaster relief and also raise the national debt ceiling now before it comes to a head next year.

If the spending package is not complete the non-essential elements of the government will “shut down” a non-technical term that really means little in the grand scheme of things because congress has defined everything as ‘essential.’

But why aren’t we talking about the fact that the aid for the storm victims should have already been there, instead of casually saying it is one of the good things in this bill, and why aren’t we talking about shutting the government down on our own instead of letting these cretins use it as a threat against us?
When, or should I say, can we amass a couple of million of us and march our parts into the Capitol and fire them all, for not doing their jobs either satisfactory or not at all?
When they are being tossed out by the scruffs of their necks, they’ll be out yelling each other, giving up the names of the lawyers and lobbyists and CEO’s and liasons that put them up to this blatant criminality against us, WE THE PEOPLE.

Have any of you ever had to deal with a compulsive spender or compulsive gambler? You set a budget – a nice, forgiving budget, even – and they freak out. It’s like taking heroin away from a junkie. You can actually watch them go through all five stages of grief in the span of one day. But it has to be done, because reckless spending is self-destructive. And this is what must be done to congress, except we’re dealing with hundreds of compulsive spenders all freaking out at the same time.
Dems are sore losers and this is one more trap to stymie not only the new administration, but also to cost American taxpayers more money. The first thing that must be stripped out is the congressional pay raise!

Speaker Johnson said just three months ago there would be no Christmas omnibus/CR bill. That they’d extend through the election break to get the work done and pass the actual appropriations bills.
That didn’t happen, and rather than enforce the appropriate penalty (shut it down until Congress passes said bills) he is now going to once again do what he said he never would.
This, on the back of record deficit months for both October and November, which at present run rates would roughly triple the annual deficit from last year. That won’t happen mostly because if they actually try to do that we will not make it to September before the Treasury market blows up and both short and long rates are well into double digits — being that such a deficit would result in a roughly 15% inflation rate and quite-clearly imply that Congress has no intention of getting the situation under control — not then, and not ever.
This, by the way, is precisely the last check and balance that can be imposed on a runaway Congress when it comes to spending, which is the reason that folks such as Bill Still who advocate for issuing non-debt-backed notes are wrong. You need only look to the actions of Congress to recognize that removing that one last check and balance would leave as the only available remaining option the violent removal of said Congress by the people — in other words, Revolution. A real one, not a rhetorical one. That’s bad, so let’s leave the only remaining means of imposing discipline which is both peaceful and lawful in place.

So, every year they rolled into a big Omnibus spending bill and that doesn’t pass and so they do these continuing resolutions and so, once again, we’re facing what’s called “the cliff”. So, if by Friday they don’t pass a bill to get the government funded you’re going to have an awful lot of government employees, you know over three million of them, facing Christmas without a paycheck.”
I called my parasites office and raised holy hell about the 40% pay raise they are trying to sneak through. The audacity and arrogance of these clowns is beyond reproach especially when so many are suffering under the inflation nation they themselves are responsible for.
