The hard part is putting it lightly lol. Totally agree with you. Unless we are COMPLETELTY wrong about physical reality (possible I suppose) it would be about impossible. Speed is a huge problem. An even bigger problem would be being annihilated by small particles as one moved through the not-actual-vacuum at high velocity. Of course there’s the whole “Just Fold Space” crowd. Uhm, how much energy would that take, IF it were possible (debatable).
I’m of two minds about it. One part of me would love to believe that other civilizations exist. In the vastness of the universe, something intelligent AND physically built to use tools must exist, right? The other part says probably not. Most stars aren’t suitable to sustain not only life, but planets with a stable atmosphere. The most common stars, Red Dwarfs, are unstable and regularly put our terrible solar storms that wipe out the atmospheres of their planets. Underwater? Maybe? But then you have the problem we see on Earth. Lots of potential intelligent life, cetaceans, cephalopods, etc. But there is no hope of engineers or tools users coming from them based on their biology and environment. A whale can be a poet, but he can’t even make a stone tool.
The other part of me thinks that the universe is a vast wasteland. Inhospitable to most life, and what life exists, if anywhere else is algae clinging to a lake shore somewhere and the bacteria that feed off it. Earth, as much as it sucks, is perfect in a sense. I won’t even get into the “coincidences” that make up our solar system, such as our only moon being the perfect size and distance from the sun to make a perfect eclipse with the sun and its size and distance from the Earth.
I can believe either, but I lean toward the latter, that most of the universe is a wasteland. We exist either as an accident of odds, or the deliberate act of an intelligence (most would call God).

I’ve seen these things personally on my nightly walks. At first I was just wondering what the heck was going on with the helicopters night after night. Usually only see them if there is a fire or accident or something. After hearing about the drones I took 4 short videos. Not helicopters. Just sitting up there – can’t hear any noise. Always seems to be more than one.

We all know now how that played out.

My take is the government knows they are foreign drones but are afraid to take them down for fear that doing so would release chemicals, bombs, etc. I’ve heard repeatedly that America is at least ten years behind drone development.
