Geez… 2 years ago we camped out on Ocracoke Island and while walking the beach witnessed what could only be described as drones dancing around the night sky over the ocean. We watched them for about an hour. Clearly some military equipment. Point being this has been going on for a while and is nothing new.

Remember about 6 years ago, the drone flights across the Midwest? A group of large high speed drones were seen flying on many different nights. They claimed that they had no idea who was behind them, but insisted that no one dare try shooting at them…

I think this story has been embellished over the years…in fact there was a disclaimer at the beginning of the program referencing it was not real but a parody.
They only read the disclaimer once at the very beginning of the show, the show lasted hours so people just tuning in never heard it. Its hard to judge others in another time.

I live in Trevose, PA (aka Bucks County!). I take a long walk each evening, and have been noticing what I first thought were an unusual number of helicopters in my area, almost every night, for the past few weeks. They seemed to be above Northeast Philadelphia, which is just south of us.
By this past Tuesday I had heard the talk of drones flying around our area, so when I saw the unusual lights in the sky during my walk, I whipped out the phone. There were two fairly close together to the south, and another behind me toward the northeast, apparently over New Jersey. All 3 showed up on my camera – looking basically identical. I wasn’t close enough to see any details – just bright, oval-shaped lights. If I knew how to share the video here, I’d be happy to.

It IS a bit more interesting when you zoom in really close to the shapes – easier to see what looks like a box shape in the center with lights (maybe red, green and white) on either side. Very similar to videos others have posted.
Van Drew is one of my favorite reps and I can’t imagine him lying. Deceived, maybe. I think it was the word “mothership” that made him sound like a nut. Is it possible that there is an Iranian ship out there being used to send and retrieve these things? I am waiting to hear ANY better explanation from our officials.

They don’t shoot drones because they are considered to be “aircraft”. Federal law is pretty clear, with large fines and up to 20 years in prison.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a military transport, commercial airliner or a simple drone. They are all considered to be “aircraft” according to the law. Could there be a cutout for drones in the future? Probably not, since drones are now ubiquitous in all facets of life.

§ 32. Destruction of aircraft or aircraft facilities
(a) Whoever willfully—

Friends said a drone has been buzzing their house out on a lake in NW Arkansas. Friend’s wife was alone when the drone came up close enough to throw a rock at it (below the tree line). I asked her why she didn’t shoot it down. Her response was that it is a federal crime to do so. I scoffed until I researched the law. Sure enough, it’s a crime.
It’s a bad law, but a law nonetheless.
They is technology that can force these drones down without shooting them.

I live about 10 miles from a Marine Corp bombing range. I heard many military jets Monday night in the area. They just kept coming. I’m sure all air branches use it, so it could also be AF or Navy.
They usually do day missions, so maybe they are gearing up for a night raid somewhere.
