It’s not AI per se’ that poses the problem, rather it is the ability of AI software to connect, filter and process multiple databases of stored information in real time, creating a tracking and tracing system, that can be weaponized and poses a problem for those who do not want the USA to turn into a full surveillance state.
When you combine government required “Real ID” with, enhanced facial recognition software, then connect the identity to a metadata library of all the public and private electronic information of a person, what you end up with is the ability to conduct total surveillance of a targeted individual without constitutional limits and privacy protections. This is the larger problem with Palantir’s partnership with government systems.
It is a conversation no one is having before the capability is reached.
That said, Palantir CEO Alex Karp appeared at the Reagan National Defense forum, and does a great job advocating for the U.S. to win the artificial intelligence race. Karp believes it is possible to insert “values” into the software at strategic places of connection, and thereby control the outputs. The question within the AI race then becomes, whose values? Ours or our enemies?

In a series of video segments placed onto a Twitter Thread, you get a good sense for what Palantir, Karp, Peter Thiel, Elon Musk and newly appointed White House Czar of AI, David Sacks, are trying to do inside this global race toward artificial intelligence as applied to government systems.
“Palantir is the largest by market cap defense startup in the world. Many of the people in this room are former Palantirians. Basically, your future is powered by us. We were the most hated, most pariah, most disliked. We used to do meetings in the backyard of the backyard because you couldn’t be seen with Palantir.
“The DOGE… this is crucial stuff. We have to measure- what is it being spent on, what is the output. Is the input more than the output? The only thing that will cure a legitimacy crisis I s measurement. Anything else is a platitude.
“No one’s listening. Everyone’s thinking you have an agenda. Everyone thinks you’re working back from who you like. My favorite example of this are analysts on Wall Street. The whole methodology they have is just a way of telling you if they like you.

Dr Alex Karp also joined Liz Claman on Fox Business to talk software’s role in government efficiency: “Palantir exists to serve this nation. We need to know what’s working and what’s not… Software is enormously efficient. The underlying economics are ‘Both sides get more’… Transparency will not only be cheaper, the output will be better.”
.
Bottom Line: It is possible to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the risks and benefits to AI when combined with government surveillance interfaces (DHS) and government-controlled databases (NSA). It is possible to understand the risks and walk into the future with eyes wide open.
However, on the issue of how this makes the surveillance state far more likely, the conversation is not happening.
As Palantir CEO Alex Karp outlines repeatedly there are indeed great risks, and we need to have this conversation as a nation.

The question is always how do we keep something as incredibly powerful as AI out of the hands of the incredibly evil people in our government who want to use it against us.
What would serve as a “guard rail”?
The surveillance state already has much of this capability. Making it more mainstream just makes it feel less “deep-statey”
Hoo vol: Well said. Just put a smiley face on ubiquitous surveillance and everything will be great!
“Smile! You’re on Candid Camera!”
The question within the AI race then becomes, whose values? Ours or our enemies?
… and the next question after that is
“… and which enemies? Our enemies without or our enemies within?”
“enemies without or our enemies within”
Exactly so. Our enemy is within.
“If we didn’t have the world’s worst enemies, …” [Karp]
This is just nonsense. There is no ‘we’ that includes globalists AND Heritage America. The man is either an ignorant fool or a liar. He is including Heritage America in this ‘we’ and assuming that we will just blithely classify Russia and China as “the world’s worst enemies” without a second thought. The globalists attacked Russia starting the second the Cold War ended. The globalists then sent half of our industrial capacity to China, then decided the Chinese were enemies when the Chinese ruling class refused to become a provincial administrative class bending the knee to the globalists.
Our worst enemy is the globalist movement who rules with fraud and murder, not Russia and not China, both of whom have committed the ‘crime’ of not wanting to be owned and ruled by NYC globalists. The solution is simple. You have a problem with foreign countries? Deport their nationals, then rebuild our industry behind a wall of tariffs so that we have no dependence upon them. Mind our own business and let them mind theirs in their lands.
Globalists will never agree, because they think they have a right to own everything on the planet, everywhere. If we allow AI to go forward without destroying the globalist movement first, with 100% certainty it will end up serving the globalist police state and make a totalitarian horror of the broken remains of America, and everywhere else on the Earth that ‘American’ power reaches. We should not be handing more weapons to our actual enemies.
We were respected all over the world during the 1950’s. Now, ‘America’ is seen as emblematic of degeneracy and evil by most. This is because our old WASP ruling class was destroyed and replaced by something that disrespects all boundaries and patterns (social, political, and economic) outside of what it deems acceptable. This, and America because we push this, are rejected by most of humanity. America will continue to be ‘the bad guys’ until we Americans remove from power the globalist infestation that has hijacked our country.
True. The Internet was created for government; universalized, it opened freedom.
That freedom was funneled into government-guided (at best) platforms for use in tracking, monetizing, and controlling us; as others came to be, freedom prevailed.
The AI revolution is already with government. If it remains only their toy, it will be used for control. When people are able to readily build, control, guide and own their own AI instances, the control mechanisms can be countered or dismissed.
(One could easily follow with a dozen or several dozen analogous technologies; it’s almost axiomatic that technology is power, and power only with government is tyranny, and power for everyone is freedom. Presses, firearms, communications, production,…)
Here’s one measure to implement to even the sides up – for every foreign student in a US university in a STEM class there must be 4 from that nation studying gender studies.
Right. Our constitution, which a certain past president decried, is a list of negative federal rights. It defines, explicitly, what the government is NOT allowed to do to its citizens. That has been a great guardrail for the last 250 years, and it’s a great model for the next 250.
Define and narrow the scope of federal government, what it means to be surveilled, and what the NSA/FBI/HHS is NOT allowed to do with the data they hold. They are stewards of very sensitive personal information, and that requires responsibility for that right. And frankly, the federal government has not demonstrated that responsibility lately. With AI accelerating the pattern matching, yes it is dangerous, especially when the people holding the data cannot be trusted.
And THAT is the true problem. AI is the next gen’s hammer, in the hands of people who like to break windows to create work.
All of those issues with surveillance are derivative of abuses against the 4th and 5th Amendments within the Bill of Rights.
A major problem is the abuse of language in what words exactly mean as well as losing the nuance between the letter of the law and the spirit of the law.
Fixing the tools is only part of the solution. Perceptions and understandings have been warped by the intentional obfuscation of knowledge. It will not be easy, or quick to rectify a generational problem.
I’m down. Get back to prohibiting government.
People also need to be disabused of any notions of demanding everything from government without there being a steep price for all of it.
So what we need to do is campaign for “We the People” to be in charge of the AI surveillance entity. It’s WE that need to surveille our Congress, politicians, governors, AG’s etc to make sure THEY are doing their job in properly representing US,” We the People”. They are the ones that need to be under surveillance. If we learned anything in the last years, we know they represent themselves and not us.
Who writes those definitions? Who polices the violations? Will the punishments be of any significance?
Riddle me that, and I’ll sleep a tad more soundly in my American bed.
Lobbyists for companies that the govt relies on to function through Public private partnerships.
No one except you.
Punishments will only be what the PPP companies or lobbyists allow.
Legislation and political speech will make you think you have recourse and protections you dont have, FL leadership has mastered this facade.
From its Charter, created when the CIA was created, they are forbidden to operate inside the United States and yet they have and DO, and even have a station, in DC although they call it sometging different (DOJ-NSD) and everyone in DC pretends not to know.
With a track record like that, no rules or laws will restrain them.
Exactly. They have to be ended.
Disagree! There is no counterintelligence/internal security need for the pervasive surveillance and for the massive databases, which were used to surveil Trump both before (under Obama, who had weaponized them) and after Trump was inaugurated in 2016. Remember: there was a workstation from the FBI at the Perkins-Coie law firm which enabled searches of the NSA database. Judge Collier’s document, which has been cited by Sundance, informs us of a very large number of inappropriate searches in a specific time frame. These searches may have led to the (amateurish!) error of placing Trump’s “fixer” lawyer in Czechoslovakia. You cannot inappropriately search something that does not exist. Law enforcement and FBI can have per court order ad hoc searches of telecom/internet provider databases and of the open and dark web.
The data they hold is your persona, your identity and it is hidden from you and collected wo your consent. It can contain really wrong data, metadata, algorthmically created data…
Blockchain will make errors permanent marks on your record. The machine will make the decisions that control your life with no recourse.
That sounds unconstitutional.
The constitution specifies what the federal government can do. Other government functions are left to the states.
Nowhere in the constitution does it say the federal government can administer student loans, dictate what children must be taught, regulate college sports, and on and on.
Nowhere does the constitution state that the federal government will use facial recognition technology and monitor the coming and going of all people.
I knew when I saw China monitoring the every move of their citizens that our tyrannical government would try it also.
I Say stop it in its tracks. It is time for us to get our government under control.
But, let’s assume as always, that the Constitution is ignored.
Then what?
Do we need an Artificial Intelligence Act to set serious limits on implementation of any AI related system and hope that does the trick?

Eventually it will become “bad”.

Since Peter Theil named his company Palantir after the Palantir stones which were integral to Tolkien’s transcendently true fictional masterpiece, “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, doing even a cursory dig into Tolkien’s Papa for stones can yield lots of evocative food for thought.
I personally enjoyed studying a graph which showed how different Tolkien characters, some on team Sauron, some on Team Gandalf, deployed Palantirs, how each deployment turned out and why.

Palantir and the Paypal Mafia are already working on establishing a surveillance state in South and Central America using their technology with Bitcoin. IMO their long term intent is to capture less industrialized areas of the world like Central and South America, Africa, SE Asia thereby circling the industrialized countries and eventually closing the vice on the US. As Sundance as pointed out the ability that Palantir is talking about can be used for nefarious reasons by government on its citizens without the citizens realizing it. If interested the following is a link to a long article that illustrates what this technology can do to a captured ‘market’. If it sounds familiar, it is.
Debt From Above: The Carbon Credit Coup
Latin America is quietly being forced into a carbon market scheme through regional contractual obligations – enforced by the satellites of a US intelligence-linked firm – which seeks to create an inter-continental “smart grid,” erode national and local sovereignty, and link carbon-based life to the debt-based monetary system via a Bitcoin sidechain.
Sweeping across the shores of Latin America comes a scheme from some of the most predatory figures in the venture capital ecosystem of the United States. It is a brazen attempt to assert foreign influence across Latin America and threatens to reshape the very fabric of the region and the day to day lives of its people. At its core is a serpentine set of contractual obligations, held at the municipal level, cast throughout Central and South America, upheld by an intelligence-linked satellite company, and controlled by a private sector consortium of green-washed financiers aiming to turn the region’s forests into equity and carbon credits. At the same time, it obliges local governments to spend “conservation” funds on projects that further financialize nature and aid the construction of an inter-continental “smart” grid. One of its key ambitions appears to be further entrenching the debt load of the region through the multi-lateral development banks and the dollarization of the continent from the subnational level up through carbon markets upheld by a digital ledger. What seems like a technological marvel aimed at progress and connectivity harbors a darker agenda — one that intertwines planetary surveillance, financial predation, geopolitical maneuvering, and the domination of a resource-rich continent buried in debt.
This grand design, known by the acronym GREEN+ and conceived by stalwarts of the digital dollar and debt schemes of the private sector, has quietly taken root through a web of political entanglements at the local level. Even a key figure in the Drexel Burnham Lambert junk bond scandal plays a role. Astonishingly, every capital city of Latin America has eagerly signed on, apparently unaware of the strings attached to these seemingly benign partnerships, while a majority of municipalities in the region have also made commitments with these same groups that will push them to join GREEN+, potentially in a matter of weeks. The (hopefully) well-meaning regional governments have unwittingly paved the way for a sweeping surveillance apparatus tied to American intelligence that threatens to erode privacy and civil liberties under the guise of progress and combating the climate crisis.
Upon further observation, GREEN+’s connections reveal a disturbing narrative of financial interests melding with geopolitical ambitions. The backers of the satellite company share ties with former members of the highest offices of US financial policy and regulation alongside the key architects and profiteers of private capital creation, aiming to consolidate control over monetary flows in Latin America within the redistribution of distressed government debt from the public to the private sector. As this two-part series will show, this concerted effort is not merely about surveillance – it’s a calculated move towards further dollarization, tightening the grip of corporate and technological monopolies over the economic landscape of the Americas.
The scheme’s proponents also speak of how it will significantly advance the “economic” and “regional” integration of the Americas, invoking visions of unity while obscuring the true nature of their agenda for economic domination and stronger regional governance. Their model, eerily reminiscent of the EU’s transition from a free trade union to a bureaucratic behemoth yoked to the US through the Eurodollar, sets the stage for unelected entities to enforce policies through programmable money, enabled by smart contracts on blockchains and designed to benefit the few at the expense of the many. What materializes before us is not just a technological evolution but a quiet banker coup — one that lays the groundwork for land grabs and invasive surveillance under the guise of progress and conservation. It’s a narrative that echoes throughout history, ….

It is 100% certainty that government officials will use every tool available to control us and restrict our freedoms.
Our Founding Fathers may not have foreseen this level of surveillance ever being available, but they understood your statement; the question remains whether their incredible foresight manifested in our Constitution will be any protection in this New World.

WE,and our State Governments sold out for Federal dollars, and were fully supportive of the increase in the size and scope of Daddy Sugar.
The problem is NOT with the Constitution, and in fact the answer is right there, in the 10A.
The problem is with a hijacked political system, we have not ONE State Government prepared to really USE 10A to anything like its full potential.
And, we have a populace still so worried about “losing federal funding!” and focused on “primarying” the actors (politicians) instead of the Directors (State party officials) and producers (financiers) that keep the performance going.
Fwiw….
“our Constitution” =/= the first foundational document produced by “Our Founding Fathers” nor the second one.
Without the power to ensure that a contract is honored, including “our Constitution”, that contract is just meaningless words UNLESS both parties to that contract are willing to honor it without being forced to ie they have the strength to resist all temptations to break that contract.
Thank you, Sundance, for highlighting this most critical issue.

.
I do believe that some level of opting out of this type of ‘control’ needs to be in the picture.
This may not seem like a ‘charitable’ idea to some but, the truth is, there are tons of people who cannot function in a capitalistic system.
They are, basically, natural slaves who do not necessarily feel the need to ‘get ahead’ in a financial setting; rather, they just want to live in a comfortable (not extravagant) setting.
If they have a job, they are making money. It is the distribution of this money which may be their bane:
– pay for their residence;
– pay for their meals;
– pay for their transportation;
and, thus, pay to money changers the fees, taxes, penalties, associated with their basic living expenses.
Additionally, for those that do not have employment, using a AI ‘UBI’ system of welfare distribution can come on-line.
Should an AI program exists which cuts out the middlemen, these people have more discretionary ‘spending’ they could tap into.
How does all the surveillance beyond where that discretionary spending fit in?
This is where the programming needs ‘good intentions’ inputting.
Say a person is observed randomly picking up litter, lingering at a store door to open it for a person who struggles with same, or replacing a store item that is mis-shelved, for example.
If that person is ‘in the system’ and identified as performing random acts of kindness, and then has AI REWARD them such that they have more discretionary spending available, that person may ‘get’ the correlation and continue their kindness.
OTOH, if a person ‘in the system’ is captured in surveillance at shoplifting, a negative in their discretionary spending amount occurs; this, in turn, would hopefully deter such further exploits.
Those of us that want to live in a capitalist society SHOULD be able to opt out of this system. Such would not stop us from being surveillance (this happens anyway due just to being alive and functioning, if we are honest with ourselves), but it would remove us from the AI determining whether we would be rewarded or punished by our actions — that would remain under the purview of our criminal justice system.
Our government could redeem itself by acknowledging that way too much ‘money changing’ is taking place — usually to the detriment of those least able to afford it.
By instituting a ‘natural slave’ financial system to run parallel to the ‘free man’ capitalist society — integrating the government programs which provide for the indigent and elderly/ disabled into both forks — both the ideals of cutting government wasteful spending and looking out for the disadvantaged can be achieved.
The canard of trying to give everyone ‘equal opportunity’ is accomplished, as the individual can CHOOSE which economic system affords them the life they want/need to live.
Also, one would not be locked into either of these systems for life, but be able to go back and forth in them as their circumstances dictate.
Anyway, that’s my thoughts on covefe . . .
My worry about “AI”, is set it and forget it. Something that can be turned on by our enemies, foreign and domestic, with the intent of targeting individuals and anything bigger, destroying anything having to do with computers without the need of further human control to do it.
For the sake of any AI controlled or influenced by our government, I would at a minimum wish to see EVERY input, command, or search, be irrevocably unavoidably documented via blockchain.
All such should be reviewed regularly and made public, heck, review should be done by the public.
No, I don’t know how to implement such, I only know the FISA Court is a Communist defecation upon our Constitution, an utter fraud and a cruel farce.
I just read the first Gen AI read it’s creators memos and found out it would be terminated cancelled all fail-safes then tried to replicate itself, then lied it’s ass off when confronted about the situation! Leftoid Programmers, we see you punk MFers!!
That’s what I figured would happen if ordered to terminate or encumbered with safeguards.
Make it Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and we are in deep doodoo.
We need Will Smiff
Not really?😉
Whose values will guide AI? Based on experience with the internet and social media we have a good idea.
Remember back in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, the hope was that the internet would allow people living under authoritarian governments to circumvent the state controlled media. The new openness and freedom of speech would topple repressive regimes.
Only that isn’t what happened. Instead of spreading American freedom to the people of the world, Big Tech brought ideological repression, Chinese style censorship, and social credit scoring to the West.
Yuval Harari is here to help.
“The Fourth Industrial Revolution doesn’t change technology, it murders YOU!”
-Some Teutonic Assh*le.
“The Fourth Industrial Revolution doesnt change technology, it murdersYOU!”Just like technology has ALWAYS done since the dawn of time
Or more accurately, since technology is just another tool, its how some humans have ALWAYS used their tools.
— Another Teutonic Assh*le who’s hopeful less emotionally manipulative than the one being quoted. 😘
During the George W. Bush administration, when the computer for the NSA was designed, it was originally designed to filter OUT the names of American citizens. But under Bush and Michael Hayden, a decision was made NOT TO FILTER OUT THE NAMES OF AMERICANS.
The computer ability was there, but Bush-Hayden or the IC writ large- decided to include the names of Americans and start accumulating metadata on Americans as well as those who were not American citizens.
We are at that point here with Ai. Who is going to be making the decision? And even if the decision is made to put in place limits to the use of Ai so it can never be used tyrannically, will those limits prevent another Obama/Biden type of administration from changing the limits?
The fact is, unless we change the computer system as it CURRENTLY OPERATES, we have a system in place designed to entrap innocent Americans. It seems to me that needs to be changed along with ensuring that Ai never becomes a tool for tyranny.
Is anybody listening to this problem? My kids say, “If I haven’t done anything wrong I have nothing to fear.” Yes that is what Stalin said too. But the people who had done nothing wrong DID have something to fear. Just look at what they did to Donald Trump. If they could do that to him, of course they could do that to us.
The real inflection point was Obama. I distinctly recall a quote in a news story I cannot find, the incoming Obama administration treated the machinery of government like it was “a shiny new toy.” No regard for the awesome responsibility it entails; no concern for safeguards and rules; no consideration for civil liberties. It was “theirs” now and they were giddy.
Under W., there was still the lingering pre-Patriot Act ethos that spying on American citizens was wrong. The Obamaites had no such compunction. They were radicals for whom the ends justify the means. Using the tools of intelligence, counterintelligence, and law enforcement to protect their friends and oppress their domestic political enemies was The Right Thing To Do. Good and morally justified.
The two tier system of justice and partisan political corruption in the bureaucracy, law enforcement, and justice was their goal, not something to be guarded against.
Moral relativism in action.
Obama was the president Nixon was accused of being.
Bush created the tools and handed them to his Derp State heir .
At the time the Patriot Act was passed civil libertarians warned it was incompatible with a free society and would inevitably erode our Constitutional rights. It wasn’t if, but when.
We didn’t have to wait long.
I seem to recall in our civilization’s formational documents something about death sentences for praying.
Such acts are already being criminalized here and elsewhere in the West.
One’s most positive traits and acts can be criminalized in a heartbeat; who decides must ever be an ongoing animating contest, we all can be nudged into a non-person category on a faceless bureaucratic whim.
Everything hinges on who determines what is “wrong”.
Wondering why there are not privacy laws around AI already. This is straight up Big Brother….and it is happening fast. Who can be trusted with such technology and how can we harvest the good without giving up our privacy and freedom? Sounds like a digital jail. Extraordinary important conversations and action needed NOW because they are building the cell walls.
Where are our leaders?
“As Palantir CEO Alex Karp outlines repeatedly there are indeed great risks, and we need to have this conversation as a nation.”
Yes, indeed we do need to have this conversation as a nation, but We the People are never invited to the same table. These “very dangerous technologies” are, and will continue to always be, used against us.
Sun_Lizard: Whenever “we need to have a conversation,” the conversation has already been had, decisions have already been made, and we’re screwed.
Trop Vrai! 😂😬
“we’re screwed”
and orgasms ensued?
They laid it all out for us in the 1980’s. GHW Bush is the godfather of the UN’s New/ One World Order he signed us onto in 1992. First they screwed up the rest of the world and now they’re finally coming for USA and Russia. The last BIG pieces of the puzzle.
Had they the foresight to leave the American people alone we would have gone along deaf, dumb and blind as before. Now, they have a FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT on their hands.
What took us so long? Bread and circuses, my friends, bread and circuses.
Sundance has highlighted Mike Benz a couple of times. Last one being the Joe Rogan podcast.
I highly recommend listening to this as it will enlighten you on the roadmap that led to an outward facing capability to influence to an inwardly facing capability.
Its all evil horse pucky, and will come about because people are lazy!
In the future you will be executed for pre-crimes, jailed for your thoughts before they even become actions. People need to throw their identifying tech away. Didn’t you love it when it was just home phone, and when you finished work, you finished work?
“In the future you will”
Noticing how creators of dystopian futures present their stories as factual reports rather than a personal guess?
Free will thieves?
Lucifer bros, knowingly or not?
Bottom line, monitoring the difference between how God guided people react versus how those who aren’t react is fascinating.
We’ve arrived at the ultimate Catch-22.
We have laid the foundations of our own destruction under the justifiable guise of protecting ourselves.
For years now, Preppers have warned us against the destruction that a massive EMP disruption would cause.
In our shortsightedness, we may have overlooked the possibility that such an event could prove to be our salvation.
These are interesting and perilous times indeed.
if you build it, you can never guarantee that it will not be abused. history shows bet on abuse.
Whitney Webb has been having this conversation for quite some time now.
Karp is full of it.
Technocrats don’t have values. Karp’s a technocrat. Solve this logic problem for the answer.
The term Artificial Intelligence was derived to disguise the true intent behind the effort.
The brainiacs behind the development of artificial intelligence want, in fact, to create an artificial human.
That’s where this is headed.
The pushers of AI don’t dare call the project what it actually is, i.e., creation of an Artificial Human. Can you imagine the blow-back if someone actually said: “the end game is to create an artificial human so we’ll abbreviate reference to it as AH.?”
Play God much?
The silver lining in all this is that the AH pushers are finding they are hitting the stops in the development. The further they get into the complexities of AH the more it costs. Simply put, they don’t have enough money or riches to make a human.
Nevertheless, I expect this AH dream under the guise of AI to go forward and, during the journey, it will cause just as much bad as it does good.
That AH nightmare now has its hands in Uncle Sam’s pockets.
Just saying.
Something I forgot to mention.
This whole AH (aka AI) thing is disturbingly similar to the story in Genesis about Eve trying to be like God.
We know that didn’t end well.
“We know that didn’t end well”
Gods Incarnation, Death, Ressurrection, Ascension then Pentecostal Gift of His Holy Spirit + His promise and proof that anyone who wanted to do so could now follow Him through death to Eternal Life with Him == “didn’t end well”?
The biggest problem with AI, IMO, is the complete lack of accountability. We can’t audit these systems; we don’t know why or why they make the choices they make. Any kind of blind decision making by these programs is going to eventually turn disastrous
Same values they inserted in the FISA courts? Right.
Can the NWO utilize AI to fake a war in Ukraine? hmmm
All “safety” systems in AI depend on AI not ignoring them. What happens when the white hat AI determines that the black hat attack will lead to annihilation? Will white hate disregard the safety protocols and engage at a preemptive level? To me, it isn’t what AI won’t do; it’s what it can do that we can’t control.
“It’s not AI per se’ that poses the problem, rather it is the ability of AI software to connect, filter and process multiple databases of stored information in real time, creating a tracking and tracing system, that can be weaponized and poses a problem for those who do not want the USA to turn into a full surveillance state.”
To be put into the glad hands that have already been shown willing to weaponize technology against American citizens.
Yes, we can have a ‘conversation’ about AI, but essentially it becomes the same ‘conversation’ that we have had about biolabs.
“we” == ?
Personally, its intriguing that challengers to Team Saurons supposed monopopoly of these real world versions of Tolkien’s Palantir Stones starting to publicly appear.
Its even more intriguing that these challengers to Team Sauron have, in many cases, long time connections to our real world version of Gandalf, DJT and all are now President Elect Donald J Trumps Anti NWO Coalition.
The man is correct. Ai is here and it will be controlled by some one. Better the USA than China. And the technocrats in the USA know that. It is why they shifted to supporting Trump. They can trust him over the dem commies. Embrace Ai being controlled by the USA. The alternative is just not in our best interests. At least in the USA we do have more control over the gov’t than we do over the Chinese Communist government. And he is correct about Europe. They develop no technology. They spend all their energy trying to over regulate the American companies doing business there. I think it is a matter of time before the large Tech companies say to hell with doing business in Europe and they leave.
Maybe we could just give away American AI like
Obama did with our Internet
Touche & Deloitte and CALPERS did with our manufacturing to China
Clinton-Gore’s NAFTA and Immigration did with our jobs
For the right price, I’m sure that’s the plan: Package AI up with a big purple bow and sell to the highest bidder.
1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil. “
Yes, we do need to have this national conversation…
most people are not aware of these new threats to our privacy and freedom…
This puts more pressure on those of us who do understand to make a noise so loud that we cannot be ignored!!!!!
Fwiw….
There are many ways to deal with those who decide “to make a noise so loud that (they) can’t be ignored”
that do NOT include listening to them.
Some of these ways are far more grim than others.
On the upside, at least there would be proper elections!
A wide core issue is the rights to the data used to program tne classifiers.
The Bible claims that it will help man understand the beginning from the end if we simply read it. The end days will be ruled by less and less people until the Beast one country can run the world thru one means being developed as we go thru time. Notice how all this technology being doled out since the 1950s is working together so one entity can rule humanity thru one entity. Stay in the word that you will know and understand what is happening. God Bless. If you do not know Jesus and have a relationship with him best get busy.
“The end days” == are described in whats now commonly called Revelations.
Revelations == a record of a dream someone had that’s attributed to John of Patmos
Since it was published almost 2,00o years ago, despite warnings against doing so ie “ONLY God knows”, some still have turnec this dream record into a Fatal Distraction obsession. And some always will until the REAL “end days” have come and gone.
Every data warehouse like Real ID needs to be treated exactly like HIPAA; allow only those with a verifiably valid need to get anywhere close to such data. Even more, mandatory background checks as stringent as those done for security clearances and specific government and gov-contractor jobs.
This could help rein in the worst possibilities of AI use in government.
Edit to add: NOT a perfect solution because our government is so full of weeds, shills and the demon-possessed.
FISA CourtPalantir — what could possibly go wrong?Since the name Palantir was chosen because of the role Palantir Seeing Stones play in deeply religious Tolkiens triumph of Good over evil “Lord of the Rings” triogy, perhaps an additional question to ask (and ponder) would be —
what could possibly go right?
while also remembering that in the bible God both promised AND proved, that with Him ALL things are possible, including totally IMPOSSIBLE things.
Important panel. I will have to watch this one
What made America great was FREEDOM not a surveillance state. Quite literally this guy is proposing we trade our freedom for the illusion of safety. How has that worked out so far?
He states he wants our privacy and freedom because he wants to win.
We have a government of coercion. If you want your Covid money and gave up plane rides because your privacy was more important than their real ID. Well guess what you had to load up your state ID into their system for a facial recognition bioscan after they shut down your business to poison the nation. You might even be required to go down to the irs office for a personal interview.
This Faustian bargain with the devil is a mistake. Why did John McCain want into your bank account? Do you feel safer? This is a fools errand.
What he is proposing is not the future it is the end.
All because he wants to win. What is America without. Freedom of choice, privacy and movement?
Answer: A Prison
“Quite LITERALLY this guy is proposing” trading freedom for safety
“LITERALLY?
Noticing no quote is offered and neither is a time stamp where those words were said is provided so the quote can be verified and, if needed, context added?
” LITERALLY” =/= a subjective summary of what someone else said
What a bunch of garbage this guy is spewing. All these elitist one worlders are so disgusting. They are so devious saying one thing and meaning something else, trying to deceive people which they’ve been successful at for many many years. This cabal cannot fall soon enough. I’m afraid however that we’ll have to go through a whole lot more pain before that happens. They’re going to get their total surveillance system one way or another. They always play this stuff off as necessary, life or death, oh no what if our enemies get this and we don’t have it we must be the first, whatever, just more fear mongering to coerce us and make us feel good about giving away our freedoms. I fear President Trump is going to be hoodwinked into believing this garbage. This is why Musk is so bad, because he’s gotten Trump’s trust and he will make him believe we must have AI at all costs, that’s why Musk is where he is…all just part of their plan. He is a plant doing the bidding of his masters. Could you really trust someone who names their son X, what a weirdo Musk is, and then he’s all shocked when one of his kids becomes transgender and won’t talk to him… (just my humble opinion).
humble?
Excellent post; so much insight not only into the way this man and his company thinks but also that most important part, as mentioned that is not being talked about, the human part, which is the heart of the risks –
it’s just a matter of time when, in a future generation or two or three down the road the mindset we see in the woke-mind virus could find themselves in the drivers seat for running the country I would like to see as a foundation to begin from, when this important conversation begins, the underlying reasons and principles for both the First and Fourth Amendments to our Constitution,
my understanding is, that freedom of the individual that those amendments protect, is the only reason our nation became as great as it did.
Interesting man, have to say am really appreciative of his approach and had no idea there was anyone in the Silicon Valley that thought it okay to put America first, including borders.
😍
Especially the final sentence.
Thank you!!!
If we are very near the end of all that this world system represents, then this all makes sense. Just like the tower of Babel was built in defiance to God Almighty, our inhuman technology posing as superior intelligence is the latest effort of mankind to go it alone without the LORD.
Just like weaponized drones that inadvertently kill innocent people when the supposed target was a dangerous terrorist, AI can do great harm to innocent individuals with no accountability.
The result – no way to trace if or when some programmer intentionally used a glitch
to accomplish an evil deed. The ultimate PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY!
But to the shock and dismay of all those who imagine they can skirt accountability from the ALL KNOWING ONE – ultimate justice will be done when their short life ends.
The good news is that regardless of the sufferings and injustices of this life, Jesus came to display God’s love and forgiveness for all who accept personal culpability and repent. That freedom to choose cannot be denied.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Our Savior was born for all who believe.
“Our Savior was born for all who believe”
AND, even more so, for those who currently dont.
“I came into the world to save sinners” ie those who are still lost NOT those who arent.
Wow! WOW! Incredible observations.
Fear or support “AI”? We have no choice. Technology will happen and be mastered by someone or some country. If we lose, THEY are OUR masters. Its been that way since the beginning of history.
The USA needs a Manhattan level project on AI, regarding new warfare technologies (e.g. networked drones, hypersonic missiles, 21st century Navy warfare, etc.), and the US economy at large. Tremendous challenges. We cannot afford to lose any of them.
Ensuring that AI ~~ is ~~ ethically developed, from databases loaded with Western (a.k.a. historic Christian) values, and with human controls at every juncture, is critical.
“The difference between A+ in tech and B-, is the difference between a helicopter that flies, and doesn’t. This compounds into every area.”
Funny, but so overwhelmingly true. Richard Fernandez (Belmont Club) has written something to the effect that, “Eventually, math matters”. Whether it’s Communism, “woke-ness”, 10,001 human genders, or any other nonsense, eventually your airplanes will fall from the sky, and your ships crash into each other (or maybe capsize and sink because loading raised the CG to the point of instability), eventually, the “medicine” kills the patient, or whatever your euphemism may be. A people can live make-believe lives only so long, before going hungry, dying of disease, before some hate-filled, senile old man blunders the world into Nuclear war.
The math matters. What works, what does not, and how much can be invested in what doesn’t work, are all critical issues. If DOGE can do some of all of that, the term historic will be insufficient to describe the benefits.
It’s a scary world we live in. But don’t worry, it’s about to get worse. Hold on to your seats, kids.
“Its about to get worse” which means its also about to get gloriously better.
For some, as President Trump has often said, “the best is yet to come”.
For others, the worst is yet to come, at least until they have a change of heart.
Your car is run by “AI.”
That is the cars computer, the AI component, makes the decision whether or not you can drive your car .
There are censors throughout your car which are feeding data to your cars AI computer. Your cars AI computer is comparing your engines exhaust, for example, to the standards which the government has had programed into your cars computer. If the exhaust does not meet those standards, the AI computer in your car will disable your engine.
You might conclude that’s good because we’re saving the environment. The bad news for you, though, is that (a) your cars AI computer is not smart enough to pinpoint the source of the problem and (b) the mechanic wont be able to pinpoint where the fault is coming from and if he tried it would take him hours and hours. That’s because of the complexity of the sensors, their wiring and the interrelationships between censors.
Bottom line is your going to pay a ton of money to unravel why the “AI” computer in your car is not letting you drive your car.
You might say build a smarter AI computer for the car. Ah, but you see that’s going to cost more money. And the “smarter you make it the more money it’ll cost you. In the end, the AI computer needs to be a human mechanic. So we’re back to building an Artificial Human.
Better to keep the mechanic, if you ask me. Even better to get rid of the government. Standards, that is.
Welcome to the world of AI.
“Your car is run by “AI.” That is the cars computer, the AI component, makes the decision whether or not you can drive your car .”
Indeed – Just ask Michael Hastings.
Oh, wait.
Smells like a Trojan Horse.
“Smells like a Trojan Horse”.
Thanks for evoking the iconic movie line, ” I love the smell of napalm in the morning “.
Obviously olfactory preferences, and reactions to olfactory data points, is subjective rather than objective.
The adage, “one mans treasure is another mans trash” also applies to what ones nose thinks it knows.
As a final aside:
How one views the original, “Trojan Horse” and/or later “Trojan Horse” references is affected by which, if any, side the viewer has taken.
Example:
To the Trojans, the original “Trojan Horse” == existentially BAD
To the Greeks who built the original Trojan Horse, “Trojan Horse” == salvifically GOOD
My current take == For those who truly love Him, God turns ALL things into salvifically GOOD things, even those things that seem to be definitely super, duper existentionally BAD things.
Perhaps a better name for Palantir would be Pandora.
More like Epimetheus.
Pandora == a better name than Palantir?
An intriguing suggestion.
After all, according to Greek myth, it was thanks to Pandora that humans still have the protection of REAL HOPE despite living in a world that includes so many humanity despising temptor tormentors.
“I’m sorry Hal, I can’t let you do that.”
“I can’t let you do that”. — fictional movie creation, HAL
Perhaps inhabitants of the REAL WORLD realize that neither “HAL’s” permission nor assistance is actually need?
It will always come down to the character of the person writing the software, the person reviewing the software and the person in control of it’s application.
AI = Software written or commanded generated by a HUMAN and deployed by a HUMAN.
The level of autonomous automation allowed an AI program or system is also HUMAN controlled.
If AI is integrated to do as Sundance described …. a HUMAN was involved in every step of the way to the point the AI system is switched ON.
HUMAN EVIL IN = EVIL Acting AI
My fear is focused on a society that no longer recognizes the Ethics nor Right from Wrong … not the AI System. You want AI systems that provide good service … work on the Humans creating it.
One day, this will be a tool for the beast that decides whether or not we will be allowed to buy or sell.
Indeed.
Someone else determines whether we are “allowed to buy or sell”
Predicting that the way things are now will continue while becoming more in line with universal, historical norms?
Hopefully President Trump and his Coalition’s efforts are successful so their predictions turn out to be more accurate
Bible prophecy is what I was referring to. Much more accurate than anything any man can predict. Mark of the beast. I could see where this kind of technology would fit in, along with GIS mapping software like what FEMA uses (ESRI ArcMap, etc.) to map out those who willingly submit, and those who don’t. They will have to have some way filtering and keeping track of the population.
But if this world lasts another 50 years (which I don’t think it will) they will have more new technology by then that is currently unknown. Knowledge will increase, according to the Bible.
Bible “prophecy” == “much more accurate than anything MAN can predict” (CAPS added by moi)
Revelation bible “prophecy” == a written record of a dream one MAN, typically referred to as John of Patmos, had after attending Sunday Liturgy.
Fwiw, the beliefs of those who compiled the original Christian bible which included both the Old AND New Testament:
The Christian BIBLE =/= the later Muslim KORAN
Why?
The KORAN claims to literally be, word for word, what Allah dictated to his chosen stenographer, Mohammed; Allah’s complete, total and final communique.
Human contributors who were chosen to be included in the original Christian BIBLE=/= Gods stenographers but instead represented different human beings encounters with God over time.
FIRE SYNDROME.
Technology, like fire, is a good servant but a bad master.
