The Senate may have a legitimate concern. Megan Kelly reports that Hegseth has cheated with every woman he has been married to. Some people may find that not to be a problem. With me, I question a person’s moral character when they can not be faithful to their spouse. Sources with direct knowledge tell me this story is nonsense and indicate they’ve had enough with games being played on Hegseth’s Defense nomination by Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa and Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
One source said Graham, who has never found a war he didn’t want other people to fight, spent the weekend crying to Trump about Hegseth, while Ernst has been running an inside-the-beltway campaign to knife Hegseth.
Sources say the WSJ article touting DeSantis is a key part of the Ernst/Graham operation to torpedo Hegseth because of his foreign policy views and opposition to endless, pointless wars.

I believe Gaetz and Hegseth were both sacrificial picks. Gaetz especially. Trump has a strategy here, hard to see it clearly, but he has to shake up the nominee confirmation process somehow and sacrificial picks could be part of that.
At DoD, you’d want a ruthless finance and audit guy, not Hegseth. Hate to say it, but The Meatball is closer to that than Hegseth.
