Despite prior rumors, President Trump has announced that Retired Lt General Keith Kellogg will serve as his special envoy to Ukraine and Russia. This puts General Kellogg at the center of the upcoming negotiated peace deal that will ultimately end the conflict in Ukraine.

Indeed. This brought for me, a different perspective on the scope of the battle and the nature of the negotiations ahead.
I don’t know what skill Rubio brings to the table. The State Dept is full of committed leftists who specialize in neutralizing non-progressive initiatives. He has no foreign policy resume to earn begrudging respect. He has no history of organizational reform. It sounds like he’s not even that keen on the Washington cocktail circuit.
The only way I see him serving a useful role is to make everything about him and his personal image, forcing the career minions to chase him around the globe at his beck and call.
He’ll end up being one of the most despised SECSTATEs of all time but also a useful distraction to the real work going on. If he has to have a substantive portfolio, give him the task of repatriating all the deported Cubans, Venezuelans, and Nicaraguans.

I think he brings quite a bit to the table. The old model of having foreign policy experience is not working, and we have a bad reputation around the world. Plus shoveling billions of dollars into countries that hate us is insane.
Rubio touted the China threat, while others blissfully ignored the warnings. As a member of the SSCI, he was informed about CIA missions and foreign missteps. As Sundance always says; The State Dept is the front of the house, the CIA is the kitchen.

I think that it was a trap set by President Trump, through the help of Rudy Giuliani, during his visit to Ukraine to the then elected President Zelensky, who was also of help then.
I think that ‘they’ were trying, after the end of the Russiagate, to investigate members of the Trump family, (I can’t remember exactly what), and President Trump, by this ‘perfect telephome call’, turned the investigation away from them.
I recall that Sundance wrote that it was the word ‘Crowdstrike’ in this call, which forced ‘them’ to try to impeach him for the first time.
As I remember, Crowdstrike was a Ukrainian firm that supposedly inspected the servers that showed Russia hacked Clinton’s emails. The FBI let them look at the server and never checked it themselves. The FBI supposedly took their word for it, that there was evidence of intrusion into the computer. They needed that story to blame Russia for Clinton losing so badly in 2016.
That set off alarms and Ukraine was now under the Trump microscope. He would find out about the labs, CIA HQ’s, trafficking, corruption, Burisma and Hunter, Russian hoax, etc. Rudy G gave the FBI info on Ukraine corruption about Hunter and they did nothing.

I don’t think this will realistically happen. I view that there is VERY LITTLE CHANCE 47 hands over all of Ukraine over to Russia. It’s a fantasy. There’s no benefit to it, really, for anyone. If he does, I believe, it only STRENGTHENS the resolve of nato and the neocons because it feeds into the notion that OTHER countries are next. Russia wouldn’t have a chance in a full blown war. They even realize that by threatening a nuclear war because that is their ONLY option—if Russia doesn’t exist, neither will the world.

The Russians don’t want to conquer or annex Ukraine. What they do want is a denazified, demilitarised Ukraine constitutionally committed to neutrality. Because the collective West has already proven itself to the Russians to be treacherous, any peace agreement Russia reaches with Ukraine is going to include provisions that allow the Russians to monitor Ukrainian compliance and outline measures the Russians will be able to take to restore compliance if they determine the Ukrainians are attempting to subvert the agreement. This might include granting Moscow the right to dissolve the government in Ukraine and to replace it with one guaranteed to be friendly and cooperative as and when they see fit to do so. What the Russians are principally concerned with is ending up with a peace that does not allow the neocons to sneak back into Ukraine and turn it into another stake to drive into Russia’s heart.

The Russians don’t want a frozen conflict like what exists between North and South Korea. From their perspective, that would achieve nothing because Neocons in Washington, London and Brussels would still be free to fashion Ukraine into the same existential threat to Russia that the Russians went to war to eliminate in the first place. The problem is that the negotiations well has been poisoned by decades of broken promises. In particular the breaking of the Minsk accords. This directly lead to the invasion of Ukraine. The admission that these accords were never meant to be implemented by Merkle and the torpedoing of the peace agreement at the beginning of the war by Boris Johnson means that there will be no peace that includes Ukraine as an independent state. Russia is winning and without the use of nuclear weapons there’s nothing that will change this. The USA and NATO are hollowed out militaries that are no match for Russia. Russia has a million man active army in reserve waiting for NATO and three million more reservist. Their military industrial complex is firing on all cylinders. They’re producing more than they’re expending in Ukraine. There will be no freezing of lines. Russia will dictate the peace. Russia will take all of the eastern Ukraine into Russia and what is left will have a puppet government controlled by Russia. The only sweetener that is going to be offered is the far western Ukraine will be returned to Poland and Hungry and Romania. We could deploy NATO troops but it would only prolong the war and end not just in the defeat of our proxy but NATO as a whole. That ends in nuclear war and the end of civilization likely or if lucky just the collapse of the American empire. Russia isn’t even stressed by the current war. It has been kept at this low attritional level by Russia to keep it from being a real stress on Russian society.

How The New Russian Missiles Are Changing The Game-
To describe a weapon system as a game changer on the battlefield is always open to be ridiculed. Many of the weapon systems that have been delivered to Ukraine were called game changing but failed to make any difference in the outcome of that war.
So why did I call the new Russian Oreshnik missile a ‘game changer’?
There are several reasons.
For one the missile with its 36 kinetic war heads is an unexpected response to the U.S. abolition of the Intermediate Range Nuclear Force (INF) treaty. The U.S. had hoped that the stationing of nuclear missiles in Europe might give it an advantage over Russia. Oreshnik denies that advantage WITHOUT resorting to nuclear force.
Any U.S. attempt to pressure Russia into a situation where it would either have to concede to the U.S. or to go nuclear has been demolished.
This is most visible in Ukraine. Over the two plus years of the war the U.S. has used a ‘boiling the frog’ strategy against Russia. It increased the temperature by slowly increasing the reach and lethality of the weapons it has provided to Ukraine. In each such step, the delivery of tanks, of Himars, of ATAMACs, of allowing Ukraine to use these on Russian grounds, was declared to be a move across imaginary Russian red lines. Each such step was accompanied by propaganda which claimed that Russia was looking into a nuclear response.
The aim was to push Russia into a situation where it could either make concessions over Ukraine or use nuclear weapons. The U.S. was sure that Russia would refrain from the later because it would put Russia into the position of an international pariah. By going nuclear it would lose support from its allies in China and beyond. It would also risk an all out nuclear war.
The strategy would probably have worked if Russia had not found an asymmetric response against it. It now has non-nuclear weapons, (the Oreshnik will not be the only one), which allow it to apply the equivalent of nuclear strikes without the dirty side effects of actually going nuclear.

I believe the USA is the one being boiled. Despite all the “Game changer Weapons” we have given Ukraine. They are loosing.
Russia has effectively countered all the weapons NATO has brought to battle.
Now Russia raises the stakes from penny ante to High stakes with the Oreshnik missile. A devastating weapon that can flatten an airbase, that there is no defense for.
But Oreshnik is just a firecracker when compared to the RS 28 Sarmat missile. Which is a real heavyweight ICBM. . 10 ton payload, Carries warheads, and hyper glide vehicles, along with its own defense system. Can be launched from Russia, fly around the South Pole and hit America from the south, or from any other direction for that matter. All our detection and defense points north. Not much covering our south end. Like its little brother, the Oreshnik. Sarmat is Hyper sonic low altitude FOBS.
We have no protection from it. A single Sarmat is potentially able to devastate an area greater than the size of France or Texas.

If you want an idea how far the Republican base has shifted, recall that then candidate Mitt Romney “accepted the resignation” of Rick Grenell from his presidential campaign when some complained that he was openly gay. Gay marriage was a hot topic and during the same campaign Mittens refused to support Chick Fil A during a gay rights boycott when the support from the Republican base was the largest nationwide demonstration at the time. I distinctly remember waiting in a blocks long drive through line for a peach shake. True to form, Mittens was a hypocrite going both ways.
But while Rick and many in the Republican base may still disagree theologically on gay marriage, he has earned our respect and appreciation and our support due to his dedication to the founding principles of this nation and his loyalty to President Trump and the MAGA movement, as well as his evident patriotism. I trust him unconditionally and agree with Sundance that he is the essential choice for Emissary.
My guess is that most Treepers will agree.
Only fools think Putin won’t achieve his objectives outlined in the SMO. It’s pure bravado to think the US can alter the course in Ukraine. The Greatest Generation is gone and was replaced with hippies.
He will but the globalists need the US/NATO to provoke Russia into WW3. We could do that by:
a) escalating the war through US/NATO troop participation, suppling long range missiles or nuclear wepons.
b) Admitting Ukraine to NATO
