It is a blessing to come here and take in info from not only Sundance, but from many other posters/professionals who have either opinions, or as it used to be “knowledge”, of topics that I am not privy to.
I am not the “brightest bulb in the garden shed” but i do have the ability to think logically and that is what I do. Take in information and sift through it, holding this piece of info up to that one and determining what is valid or not. What it is that I can now stand on being the simple man that I am.
What I cannot conclude with the information provided over the past 8 years is that this man would:
Give up a life of leisure and success, travel the country at his own expense, work 20 hours a day, take as many slings and arrows not only from the Democrat side but Republican party as well, have not only himself but his wife and children mercilessly slandered and attacked, lose money, be shot at and miraculously avoid being assassinated, set up, mocked, ridiculed, debanked and slandered in every possible way imaginable while maintaining his wit and humor and may I say integrity…And not be what he has always said he was going to be.
Maybe the only person who is able to Make America Great Again. He has not changed one iota. He looks forward and not behind, does not apparently hold a grudge (a bigger man than I) and instead looks for solutions which he is quite adept at. Common sense solutions which should be so obvious to all Americans, and I believe this last election has proved that out, with many different people coming together to vote this man back into the Office of the President. As far as I can tell he is honest, to the point of being repugnant to some, adored by others.
I have to admit, I do not understand many of his actions, but I have to believe from what I have and can see, that he is actually for us. It is “complicated business”, and as many here are voicing their concerns, I too have mine but will refrain from saying anything negative until he at least takes office and he and his team are in place. I have yet to be invited to Mar-A-Lago. So, I do not know, but my hope is that it is NOT “complicated BUSINESS AS USUAL”.
And that is not to say others should not, it is good to be able to debate and bring attention to discrepancies (polite for concerns), that is how we learn and evolve. I appreciate everyone here who contributes here and have taken the time to invest in this country’s future. Yes, even the trolls.

My husband and I went out to dinner tonight to celebrate our birthday. We overheard the people in the booth behind us talking. The man was reading something off his phone about Trump and his choice for Surgeon General. I could not make out every word he read out loud to the women. The woman was not at all happy. She raised her voice and said, wth is wrong with him. She then went into a tirade about how bad of a pick the women Trump chose was. I leaned over and said I don’t want to be rude but who is the woman Trump picked. The woman laid it all out to me. Her and her husband voted for Trump. I was not too pleased with what the woman told me. When we got home, I opened up my laptop and looked for the information on this woman who Trump picked to be Surgeon General, and I agree with the couple from the restaurant. Bad Pick.

Anyone serious about lowering healthcare costs need look no further than the fact that it’s the only industry I can think of where the massive infrastructure (testing tools, imaging tools, surgical centers, cancer treatment, dialysis, etc.) all are deliberately idled 70 % of the time. NO other industry would let a factory sit idle weekends, evenings, etc.
And yet, healthcare, where treatment is time sensitive and any delay may mean death for the patient, schedules all that infrastructure to sit unused evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.
The above was planned for, way back in the 90’s…along with the ACA…20% of the economy (run by bean counters). A lot of those centers provide elective procedures…that may have high out of pocket costs if not covered by insurance. And a lot of services offered are meant to keep patients out of the hospitals by way of outpatient procedures.
New earthquake proof hospitals constructed in California are commonly over $1 Billion.
It’s enormously expensive to earthquake proof a building. That, however, was a good decision as these facilities are critically necessary after an earthquake. Same for firehouses.
Take it a step further. People are still waiting months for necessary tests and/or surgery. Cancer can go from Stage I to IV in the time it now takes to get a biopsy.
While the equipment all sits idle weekends and evenings.
