Look at that map and see where the danger lies and the influence is in the most populist states. That those states still can have such pressure on who wins is another grand reason why we should be very thankful for the electoral vote. The large states should think of using some sort of electoral vote too to even the playing field for the less populated areas to have a fair voice in their state elections.

I have argued there are probably THOUSANDS of federal employees who have moved far away from where they are assigned to work.
If you, a U.S. federal employee, only had to show up one day per month at a federal office, why would you NOT move to some paradise climate location and just use an airliner to commute one day per month?
Alternate perspective:) If more Federal employees worked remotely, would that not free up office space? And then that office space might be repurposed. Shelters and/or medical facilities for Vets comes to mind.

And it also provides data on which employees’ computers are sitting idle for too long. When I worked remotely during Covid, I was very mindful that a 10 minute break was just that. Employees had to keep a running list of each task accomplished throughout the day and then email the list at day’s end. to HR. Included was a time estimate to complete each task. HR frequently IM’ed employees at random times, then tracked how long it took for the employee to respond.
I agree, as a forester, I found the telephone and emails made me work after hours & weekends when I was not in the woods.

During COVID lockdown– there were teachers reaching out to students and families. I stood in the dark, at 6:00 am, handing books and binders full of materials to my students’ parents. I passed out candy as they drove up on Halloween in the dark. Other teachers also reached out to support students by giving them materials.

Parents broke down over the fact that they had to juggle 3-4 kids on Chromebooks scattered in different rooms so they could Zoom with different teachers. Many of these parents were forced to simultaneously work from home while they had to referee several children.
I teach in a large middle school. Eight of us went into the school and taught out of our classrooms every day. I know this was not possible for some staff with children.
However, there were some lazy jackasses who undeservingly earned paychecks.
Chicago pretty much uses the “utilitarian theory” in most of its doings…..and that is ‘doing the least for the most’.

A friend of mine was taking an online course in California and, after the lockdown started, his professor just went AWOL. The prof put up a bunch of videos and projects and just totally disappeared. No one could get a hold of the guy. Noone’s even sure if the prof graded any of the work or if someone else did. My friend already had some background in the course from his years in the military and was able to do the work without the prof. He actually ended up tutoring some of the students in his class because the prof was nowhere to be found. They should have paid him for teaching the course, not the prof.
The teaching colleges have been infiltrated.
Some workers travel on the job, and if they cover a large territory would naturally not be starting from the office every day.
These things have to be looked at on a case-by-case basis, which it appears Elon and Vivek are preparing to do.

The Appalachian mountain area . . . proud and strong people. Many victims are living in near-squalor, in flood-damaged homes or in make-shift tents and abandoned vehicles. Roads are still out. The stories are heart-breaking. Entire towns are still without a water supply. Cemeteries were unearthed. The mud (and possibly even the air) is toxic. They want to stay and protect their land. Many have nowhere to go. If there are children involved and those families choose to shelter at a HUB, then there is a risk of the kids being taken. They are trying to survive.
They are still recovering bodies.

There is no objective metric that we can use, to clarify, one way or the other this question;
ARE big cities, with large populations ACTUALLY “more liberal” than comparable but less populated rural areas?
Certainly you can’t create 50-100,000 phantom voters and hence ballots, in a county that only has a population of under 10,000, such as a # of counties in Az, whereas its relatively easy to generate such a phantom lot of ghost voters, in Maracopa County, with over a million residents, Az being an example.
And, its common for big cities to have a political machine, long entrenched into the system, in big cities.
But, big cities are also full of mechanics, construction workers, etc. who are MAGA. SO, why would big cities be SO liberal, that their liberal vote would overwhelm not only the 90% rural red, but the MAGA vote that logically must exist within the cities populations?
Viewed objectively, as I say at the least we can find no solid evidence to support this notion, and like some imof these “150% voter participation” findings, IT JUST DOESN’T MAKE SENSE”.
Finally, how would we know? Crazy libtards are sncouraged to “wear their politics” being open and outspoken in their liberalness, with their virtue signaling.

Yes! Also Christmas. I was able to personally connect with a relief worker. We now exchange text messages. I offered my household to be “Santa” for a family in a hard-hit area in the mountains. He is sending me a family of five, currently living in a flood-damaged home, barely getting by. I’ll have a list of their needs and wants and some personal info to help us shop for them. We’ll wrap the gifts, pack into boxes, and ship to the relief worker. He will deliver them personally and give me a photo of the delivery (not that I made that a condition, but it is appreciated). We will respect their privacy and dignity.
I also asked for a single person that we might help. Pretty certain that we will also be Santa for a veteran who recently lost his wife. His home was washed completely away. He is now living in a small donated camper. He is in the Black Mountain area. All he wants for Christmas is a Galaxy Z flip phone to store photos of his wife. Those can get expensive so I am working with the relief worker on ideas of how to get this for him.
I have visited retail stores in my rather small town and they have given me discounts when I tell them what I am doing.

My staff just made contact with a new whistleblower who provided a credible account that a FEMA contractor visited the home of an elderly disabled veteran’s family around October 10.
While there, he recommended that the family remove Trump campaign materials and signs from their house and yard, stating that his FEMA supervisors view Trump supporters as domestic terrorists.
The elderly homeowners were so frightened by this and afraid that they would not recover their loss that they removed the signs.

About that IVF- I was just thinking about how, in the 90s’, when ‘product placement’ really took off, there was a push in the entertainment industry to normalize infertility.

In my junior year in college, we had an infertility expert come and give a small info lecture. That was about 1978.
Back then, he said, a woman has an 80% chance of NOT getting pregnant each month given the appropriate variable…sexual intercourse. So I wonder how that applies today, given all the poisons we ingest…and how much is hype and like the clot shot, is being pushed…IVF is not a cheap thing to go thru and can last a few years….so I have been told…(that is outside my area of expertise).
NOT “cured”; the very idea ia anethema to their whole plan of lifstime pharmacueticals for all.
They DO NOT try to cure, they try to “treat” to “manage” the symptoms, so they can continue to do so, for life.
And sure, the easiest way is to find substances that CAUSE the “condition” subject the patient to a constant ‘dose’, whether its in the water like flouride, or these food additives, and when the substances build up to levels that cause symptoms, then put them on lifetime Rx’s of medications that DON’T cure, but only at best help the patient to “manage their symptoms”.

Federal monies CAN be withheld, but only if the recipient dies not meet certain requirements spelled out in the original appropriation legislation, and only if it directly relates to the main object OF the legislation, as PDJT found out, in his first term.
So,…MAYBE some Law Enforcement funds or grants can be withheld, but can not withold, for instance Highway funds, etc.
Witholding Federal funds is not the club its imagined by many to be.

They did this in LA too, with tiny homes for the homeless. The government must have its grift by not allowing private parties to help. I’m quickly moving from small government to no government.
It is ( or has ) reached the point at which NO gov’t would be able to assist people far more efficiently and humanely than ANY gov’t could, would – or is.
So, as part of the recovery effort, have the government step in and bring the dwellings up to code.
After the still homeless are taken care of, and the roads and energy needs are restored.
