I just hope it wasn’t Trump losing his nerve. He’s been pushed into other hasty moves with enough pressure when it came to personnel.
Trump makes deals. That’s his thing even tho some of those deals may stink. I am fast becoming disillusioned.
The DC Swamp’s resistance to the MAGA agenda is quickly consolidating. What we see happening with Trump’s nominees is clear evidence of what is now happening.
So we must ask the question — is there currently any real chance that any Trump nominee who is openly committed to helping him drain the DC Swamp could be confirmed in the Senate? Whether it was Matt Gaetz or anyone else who could be relied upon to work as hard as possible in deconstructing the administrative state?
IMHO, in the absence of confirmed nominees and recess appointments, Donald Trump must be prepared to authorize a series of 200-day acting managers to quickly start the job of cleaning house.
And to do it with many, many Executive Orders drafted every day by close White House advisors which directly assert Trump’s authority over the Executive Branch as the Chief Executive.
Anyone who refuses to carry out the president’s explicit instructions, as contained in these many EO’s, is fired forthwith for insubordination. And let the DC Swampers who are trying to thwart the deconstruction process be damned.
My immediate thoughts when I read that President Trump had nominated Pam Bondi were, 1) well, that’s not a good idea; and, 2) Sundance is going to go ballistic.
I believe I was right on both points.

I vaguely remember when Matt Gaetz was interviewed by Tucker Carlson, and told this unbelievable story. This thread encapsulates that story, and then some.
Will someone please tell me wtf is going on at Mar a Lago? They’ve had four friggin years to vet and put together a coalition and strategy. Senators, including Vance not showing up to vote. They’re coming off like friggin amateurs here! This is so frustrating to watch. Special Counsel Gaetz has a nice ring to it. A Trump version of Mueller or Smith.
Two points. Gaetz resigned his position as Congressman. But he was also just re-elected, so does that mean he resigned from his post for the upcoming Congress as well? I wouldn’t think so. It’s hard to resign from a post you haven’t yet taken. And maybe he’ll be appointed Florida’s next Senator with Rubio going to State.
Second, I would have thought Matt Whittaker would have been a good choice as AG, but Trump has nominated him to be the Ambo to NATO. Maybe Whittaker didn’t want it. Ken Paxson would have been an even better choice than Whittaker in my opinion, but Pam Bondi? Like Janet Reno only easier on the eyes. I suspect the Deep State is going to run circles around her.
