We see this dumping of the old, embracing of the new, not JUST in news/information, but in entertainment as well. Once people get USED to grazing on fresh, wholesome food, why would they go back to a diet of crap, just because it is pre-prepared for them.

My career was high tech. This industry is big on outsourcing professional services, and bringing in engineering and other degree areas to develop new products instead of building up education here to train up our own citizens. Cities are transformed by this huge influx on the west coast. Bill Gates was often asking for an increase in the visas that allow this. I have friends in professional services (like SAP) losing their consulting jobs to foreigners brought in cheaper and switched out for more when their visas expire. Housing paid for and many housed together. We have talented people here, we don’t need to import them. We need to retool them.
Yes! I live in the Seattle area and the entire Gates family has been a thorn in our side for decades, IMHO!
I do not blame people from other countries for wanting to come here and live the American dream, BUT I am beyond frustrated that my children cannot afford even a small starter home because SO many tech people have been brought in to fill jobs and have jacked up the price of housing beyond belief!
And my greatest frustration is that once the tech worker arrives, they petition to have their spouse and children join them, and then, their parents and their in-laws, none of whom bother to learn English, but immediately get put onto SSI and Medicare/Medicaid! They are being paid thousands of dollars every month, courtesy of the US taxpayers, even though they never worked a day in this country!
Not only does President Trump need to sign an EO on Day One to stop “birthright citizenship” (which almost no other country in the world offers) but he also needs to include a halt to “chain migration” (or at least state that anyone who brings a family member over to join them is 100% financially responsible for that person, for life!) My in-laws immigrated from Europe after WWII and part of their application packet was an agreement that they would NEVER be eligible for any type of public assistance!

In 2023 Mexico had $84,000,000,000+ injected into their economy from illegals here sending money back home to their family. That needs to be addressed, then Mexico and its citizens would think twice about coming here and would instead stay home.

As Majority Leader McConnell has near absolute control over the Senate, not just controlling committee assignments, authorising or blocking ethics investigations, and dispensing percs, but he controls the Republican Senate Campaign fund, which is UNLIMITED, UNRESTRICTED and nearly bottomless fund of $ he is free to dispence or withhold from Candidates.
The Republican Leader in the House, whether Speaker or as Minority Leader has the same authority over funds for House races.
THIS is what McConnell and McCarthy have used,to control the outcome of elections,and subvert any Tea Party or MAGA candidates.

My opinion is this one could be very interesting once the questions are answered because while reading the description of the case thought of Mike Lindell, Prof. David Clemens, True the Vote and many other people who have been working diligently to prove fraud when it comes to certain voting machines and trying to get their hands on internal documents; so something to keep an eye on once the ruling comes down, will it help them or hinder them?

For the legal Treepers here, there was an important decision out of the DC Circuit Court of Appeals yesterday, Marin Audubon Society v. FAA .
The panel ruled 2-1, that the Council on Environmental Quality (“CEQ”), which is part of the Executive Office of the President, had been illegally issuing regulations for 46 years.
The CEQ was just supposed to be an advisory group, but its “guidance,” when published in the Federal Register, was taken to be regulation. However, there was no enabling statute from Congress giving the CEQ the authority to issue binding regulations. An agency cannot issue regulations unless Congress gives it the authority, since Congress is delegating part of its legislative authority.
So the 46 years of “guidance” is gone. The EPA might re-issue some of the guidance as regulation, but that would be up to Lee Zeldin.
The judges were two Bush41 (!) judges and one Biden. The Biden judge dissented.
I expect an appeal to the whole circuit and maybe SCOTUS, but if there’s no rule-making authority granted to the CEQ, I don’t know how its guidance can stand as regulation.

One way to trim the federal government is to eliminate as many regulations as possible. Regulations often need someone to enforce them. Rescind the regulations, and there is no longer any need for those federal workers.

Luckily, the SCOTUS opinion from last term, Loper-Bright, will enable more people to challenge federal regulations in court. Federal courts can no longer defer to the agency on whether the regulations is a reasonable interpretation of statutory authority.
