If you look at the structure of the announcements, there does appear to be a strategy at play; yes, including the likelihood of Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.
Using the announcement of Steven C. Witkoff to be Special Envoy to the Middle East, I’ll try to put it together.
If President Trump pulls Marco Rubio out of the Senate, he opens up the position of Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI). Rubio would love the opportunity to load his presidential aspiration resume with Secretary of State, for later use. However, this also opens the opportunity for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to appoint an interim senator who would be more MAGA-minded, trustworthy and loyal (dare I say Gaetz).
With Rubio removed from the equation of the IC problem, the issue becomes mitigating (think neutering) the Secretary of State from undermining the Trump Doctrine; which, as you know, is the key Trump foreign policy approach using economic power combined with diplomacy.
President Trump has long expressed being sick and tired of U.S. mid-east policy, endless wars, endless spending etc. President Trump in term-1 created the Abraham Accords to establish long-term peace and stability in the region, as a countermeasure to all the prior administrations stirring shit up there. Essentially, the Abraham Accords create peace, get us out and allow policy to focus on more pressing foreign concerns, vis-a-vis China.
President Trump constrains Rubio in the mid-east by putting Steven C. Witkoff as Special Envoy to the Middle East. Essentially, neutering any intervention that might be launched by the IC agenda supported by the neocon wing of Rubio. Trump does this directly from the White House.
That puts Rubio’s role as Secretary of State focused on Europe and Asia, both regions where President Trump has already outlined the benefits of the Trump Doctrine in creating a peace deal in Ukraine and economically neutering Chinese aggression (like he did in North Korea).
While many of us do not like the thought of Rubio as Secretary of State, the value in removing Rubio from the SSCI is quite significant.
While the Rubio announcement has not been officially made, the likelihood of it increases with this appointment of Steven C. Witkoff to be Special Envoy to the Middle East. It just makes sense.
Secretary Rubio becomes the Maître d’ to a newly branded restaurant with a private dining room he is not permitted to enter. Meanwhile, CIA Director John Ratcliffe is the new chef in the back of the house, changing the menu and charting a new, fresher culinary experience. It becomes likely everyone gets the same menu and experience now.
I can find cautious optimism in this strategy. Frankly, getting Rubio out of the Chair position is a pretty big deal.

Thank you for outlining why I shouldn’t be so annoyed by the proposal. Hopefully De Santis will choose an appropriate replacement that also has some longevity.
Desantis may pick himself!
DeSantis is term limited as Gov. I think he will appoint himself. Gaetz would be better but either one is good.
I doubt it. If it’s even possible.
I saw him do that once… it was gross…. and it wasn’t only his nose.
Meatball will hopefully do as told.
I read earlier that state reps were wondering if he would put his control freak wife Casey in the spot.
No longevity with that choice!
Uh no.
Perhaps Rubio may be more of an asset in dealing with Central and South America. That is a big foreign policy side of the border issue.
He may be the first SOS to speak Spanish. That might help him curry favor to Trump’s agenda in that area.
Believe it or not, Rubio learned Spanish after he ran for political office.
.
He is not super fluent.
But does he keep hot sauce in his 👜?
“At this point… what difference does it make?!?”
😛
I’d rather have a SOS that speaks Russian! 😉
And shut down the Darien Gap.
The bridge for their invasion super-highway makes a tempting target.
Musk and Ramaswami need to DOGE the NGOs out of business and we’ll be looking good on immigration with Homan leading things. Bigger smiles everyday. 🙏🏽❤️🎯
Is the Darrien Gap, or any of the multiple international borders that migrants are transported through to our southern border really the key issue in the mass migration project?
Tens of millions of people are not walking from Panama to Texas.
The logistics and costs to transport, feed, arrange bribes and agreements with authorities to pass through multiple borders, pay the “tresspass” head fees for each migrant to cross territory controlled by the cartels on the border is complex and expensive.
There are also costs to bribe border patrol and criminal gangs on our side to complete the crossing and onward transport into the interior of the country.
Undoubtedly the funding is originated somewhere in our treasury to pay internationally connected NGOs for these all inclusive transport services.
The countries whose territory’s are crossed are being paid to waive visa requirements and indemnify costs of crimes committed against their citizens in the midst of the largest migration in human history.
It’s unusual that there is not one investigative journalist who has conducted the entire journey incognito and publish their documented experience.
A border wall, from Gulf of Mexico shore to the Pacific Ocean shore is critical. It must also be monitored and manned in force, with our military personnel, re deployed from Syria, Iraq, Europe and the Pacific.
All public funding must cease, and any entities or persons contributing private funds must be prosecuted for organized crime. Government officials who diverted public funds to illegal activity must also be prosecuted.
Cuba and Venezuela are almost conjoined twins. Russia is their daddy.
Rubio would be a good one to deal with Latin America.
Rubio is Cuban. A lot of Central Americans do like or trust Cubans; they are viewed as “The Man”.
Rubio will do very little. dJT can fire him in a few months and get him out of the way
Always good to have that option.
And normalizing relationships with Cuba. Take away a platform for Russia/China shenanigans in our neighborhood.
I don’t see him as an asset in that area, more a liability. Regarding illegal aliens he said in English “enforcement first” and said in spanish “amnesty first” – I don’t trust him at all.
Keep him on a short leash.
My thoughts exactly. A very short leash!
What about the theory that Rubio (and Noem) is part of the play to get Thune out of the senate leadership race?
lol… that’s MY theory…. Explanation coming soon.
Could it be that Trump is nominating Senate confirmed candidates as eye candy and then naming the enforcers as czars, envoys, and advisors that do not require Senate confirmation?
As Tuberville indicated, getting a recess longer than 10 days from the Senate is never going to happen, so not really a strategy with a high confidence of success.
However, naming players with the real power into sub-roles seems like an efficient way to accelerate change. I am still hoping the document sunlight coming from the truth and reconciliation commission will facilitate more than a few immediate retirements in addition to the installation of more than a few candidates who had their elections stolen (It is just not believable that there were so many states won by Trump without down ballot coat tails – looking forward to the election funny business trials).
I remember one of the things sundance mentioned in his epics on the new administration personnel was the strategic importance of deputies to do the actual work while the figurehead did the perfumed-prince bit.
🎯
Hopefully both John & John have hefty binders full interesting novel worthy escapades.
I was heading down this direction myself , but was one day away from becoming certain that’s how it was going down.
This said, I agree there’s definitely several moving parts at play than just what’s seen on the surface.
I like it. We are watching the beginnings of a chess game
Chili, I agree with your comment 100%! However, I am somewhat fumble-fisted – especially with a mouse!~ I accidently flagged your comment I am sorry!
Bormir
Get Cornyn out while you’re at it!
This is how Trump should announce Rubio as SOS:
https://x.com/alx/status/1856165784302596102
🤣🤣🤣
Gotta love our President!
now we know what he’s been doing these last four years!
brilliant! brilliant!
thanks sundance, for explaining it all so even I can understand it 🙂
So what new snake then takes over Rubio’s SSCI position?
THAT is the $64K question…
Tom Cotton..the great Sea islander snake who didn’t want to serve in Trumps cabinet.
Gaetz
Gaetz is in the House. This is a Senate position.
Gaetz can be moved to the senate. He should have no problem winning a special election.
Not, if Matt does go to senate he most likely will be a vote and pain in pencil necks azz. that’s about it.
… and won’t that new SSCI Chair become just as captive to the IC once they start getting those super-special double-secret probation briefings from the IC?
This is THE problem. Even if they’re clean as a whistle, they will invent something. It’s going to take someone who can take the pressure, and also have heavy backing not only from Scott, but from Johnson as well, and especially from Trump. This is a horse they will have to break. And then a different horse will have to be broken, and then another, until the fiends see it’s pointless to continue. It’s a long war that has to be compressed into a short timeframe.
The snake Sea Islander, Tom Cotton per Citizen Free Press.
Ok so when is his term up and who will primary him.
Tom is already compromised but I bet he doesn’t like Mark Warner. And if the CIA is run by Ratcliffe & Kash Patel gets DNI or whatever IC job, you’ve got 2 guard dogs on Cotton.
Depends on who the Senate Majority Leader is. If it’s Scott, maybe not a snake. There’s a lot going on here.
“Florida Man”
What a genius strategy—the Art of the Deal on MAGA steroids, and this is just the first week. It is winning, winning so much winning!
As always, thank you, Sundance, for your genius reporting and analysis.
The house would love to have Gaetz in the senate.
His district in panhandle is safe red.
He could play out Lil Havana’s time there and then run to replace Meatball.
We can then get a MAGA senator in FL, Lil Havana fades away like Niki.
One can dream.
I don’t know that Gaetz would get Rubio’s seat on the SSCI. The new senator from North Carolina did not get Richard Burr’s spot on the committee.
I still haven’t figured out if Burr was pushed out to clear the way for Rubio or if Burr’s stock trading acumen was spotlighted to make sure Kelly Loeffler couldn’t hang around because of her financial conflicts through her husband.
I don’t think he would get much of or any committee seat. They have to get enough dirt on them before they move up.
It’s been going around for awhile here that Matt would run for Gov after Meatball, he’s pretty much not going to get any plum gigs in the house.
Gaetz depends on Senate Majority Leader.
President Trump is the BOMB! 😜❤️
President Trump has had four years to plan for this. He knows it is his show and he is well prepared to direct.
What a treat to see it unfold and it is refreshing to see real patriots being selected.
Yes — indeedy, Sundance!
Nicky neuter ▶️ biggly🤭
-and then some.
We are watching a master builder at work; one who has had on the ground training as well as years of planning and getting a greater breadth of understanding the lay of the land. I’m going with ‘Let Trump be Trump’ during these days of forming his Cabinet and organizing the off-Cabinet set up which will be hosting the RFKjr, Tulsi, Elon task forces.
These next four years are going to be epic. We just need to keep President Trump and his core group of people safely in our prayers.
Given there’s a special envoy to the ME do you see one for Europe as well?
The best person I can think of offhand, to take on von der Leyen, is Ms. Hagerman:) But Wyoming needs her.
Oh, it would be SO fun to see Ms Hageman up against von de Leyen!!!
Removal of Rubio from the SSCI was legit my first thought after seeing the SOS leak…but I thought that thought may come off a bit too “trusty-the-planner” q-anonish if I typed it into existence.
Who replaces Rubio as chair of SSCI? Does the majority leader choose the person? How is that decided?
Usually seniority on the committee, I think.
(b) At the beginning of each Congress, the Majority Leader of the Senate shall select a chairman of the select Committee and the Minority Leader shall select a vice chairman for the select Committee.
https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/about/rules-procedure#:~:text=(b)%20At%20the%20beginning%20of,chairman%20for%20the%20select%20Committee.
Thank you for the answer.
💥 💥 💥 💥 💥 💥
I just love when a plan comes together to flush out the willing and/or compromised IC assets and putting a fox in the hen house to take care of the rest while the Lion runs wild after the rest of the pack of hyenas.
Gaetz? Yeah, sure. Maybe Nunes though unless the chess master has another role for him.
This has been one helluva great day for announcements!
😁 😁 👂 2 👂 🙉
What a grand thought — Nunes in the senate so that he could go for round 2 with Schiff.
Gaetz or Nunes — either way Schiff’s life will not be easy.
Nunes lives in Cali.
I thought he had moved to Florida.
I guess not.
He’s a farmer in real life.
Was Hilary a NewYorker?
Yes, that’s where the servers were.
Gaetz?? The guy who gave us mike johnson???
What did I miss?
He got rid of Frank Luntz boyfriend. Kev Kev is a footnote now.
Why not read the post above where Sundance proposes it and take it up with him if you don’t like it. Let us know how it works out.
He may have given us Johnson, but he got rid of McCarthy.
Half empty vs half full
I’m kinda hoping that Johnson may bend the knee to PDJT simply because that would make sense for their respective personalities (alpha versus beta).
A girl can dream.
You missed everything if you continue to think Gaetz gave us Mike Johnson. The same thinking about Tucker, Elon, Vivak, Tulsi, RFK. Wouldn’t have had any of them per this forum a year ago.
This is all very awe inspiring. It’s only been a week and it is just invigorating.
I wonder what happens if he says “No thank you” to the offer? Does he dare to? He might be getting influence from his war mongering friends in govt. with just this info from the likes of SD. Maybe he will ask for some other conditions in order to agree to accept the job. Interesting chess moves it seems.
Thanks for the analysis SD.
I’m sure Rubio understands the risk of leaving a safe elective office for an appointed position where he serves at the will of the President. He needs something to distinguish himself as the potential heir apparent to the MAGA movement – and be sure he IS positioning for the 2028 election.
Rubio is too ambitious to pass up SoS. The big question is Thune. What does he want more – Senate Majority Leader or SD governor? I think what’s happening is Trump is trying to lure Thune out of the Senate Leadership race by offering him an endorsement for SD Gov (which is why he pulled Noem out of SD), and at the same time telling Lil Marco that if he can whip enough votes for Scott to win, he’ll get SoS. Scott winning is key to SSCI and also to Paxton as AG.
You are absolutely on the right track. Still missing a few additional pieces, as am I, but nearly there.
Pay close attention to the announcements made tomorrow & the order in which they come in (although not as important).
Also, I believe Sundance will be spelling this out for all of us more clearly in the coming days.
Is this fun, or what?
Rubio already tried running for POTUS once. He has unlimited ambition. SecState is too good of a resume-enhancer to pass up. (The title is oh so impressive, regardless of whether Trump has neutered the actual position to be nothing but a glorified errand-boy for PDJT47.)
He also has a step up in that 1) Florida has a lot of electoral votes and he has an organization there and 2) appeal to Hispanics because he speaks Spanish
It katapulted Killary to the presidency.
When?
We do have to get the Soros influence out of the State Dept. I doubt little Marco is up for that job. We got anyone else like Steve Miller who can be that nasty “deputy Secretary”? Please make it so, Sundance.
Maybe SD knows this will be read by the neocons and he hopes they run to Lil’ Marco and tell him, “Don’t do it!”
Viola! Rubio is out of the running for anything in the Trump Cabinet.
Even if that does happen there are 1, maybe 2 backstops in play. We’ll all know more tomorrow.
Please Dear Lord, put Matt Gaetz in the senate where he can do relentless battle with Adam Schiff. Nobody else in the upper chamber has the wit and energy to deal with that pencil necked demon.
Schiff cheated.
Unfortunately, I don’t think De Santis will appoint him. I think De Santis will appoint himself. I don’t think there is any way he would appoint Gaetz to the Senate and let himself be left behind in FL. He’s too ambitious for that. Maybe Trump has another role for Gaetz in mind. I remember during the election there was all this talk of Trump and Gaetz having “a secret,” to be revealed after the election, but I haven’t heard it yet.
Well done Sundance & thank you.
I had put the first part together already eg. Removing Rubio from his Senate Intel position & replacing with a real MAGA Senator & was thinking more along the lines of Byron Donalds but either way I had hypothesized that was the direction. You closed the loop for me with your other info of how Rubio at SoS also benefits & doesn’t hurt MAGA.
“I can find cautious optimism in this strategy. Frankly, getting Rubio out of the Chair position is a pretty big deal.”
As I also thought, but then the question is, who becomes Chair. If it is Cotton, is he willing to be something other than a rubber stamp for the IC?
If Rick Scott succeeds in gaining the Senate Majority Leader look for some new MAGA faces on the SSCI, and a whole different dynamic, maybe?
We gotta help with that success.
📞 📞 📞 📞 📞 📞
Absolutely. That’s what this is all about. That and AG Paxton.
Byron Donalds would be a good choice to make Senator in FL. He is MAGA and really smart.
Keep Donalds in the House and give him a committee or important subcommittee to chair. He has talents that should be developed.
Yep
Make him the replacement of Johnson.
So who moves up to Chairman should Rubio leave, Risch? I assume the list is by seniority:
There really are some worthless RINO’s on that list.
Amen to Langford, I call OK home and I just wanna see him go away
Right. The stench comes thru the monitor.
Maybe some more appointments are in order. Collins for Ambassador to Nova Scotia🤪
Every 6 years, I get hopeful about primarying Cornyn.
I feel the same way about Graham.
faithfully sc republicans run 3-4 at once in primaries and this splits the votes giving miss lindsey
her seat every year simply run only ONE and then win
Open primaries don’t help either.
And every six years, McConnell has come through saving Cornyn’s fanny!!!
PERISH THE THOUGHT ON MOST OF THEM!!!
It’s completely up to the Senate Majority Leader who the chairman is. That’s what this fight is about.
Risch just replied to my email asking for his support for Scott with his normal mealy mouthed noncommittal RINO speech…. run forrest run
What an awful list of so called Republicans.
Another roller-coaster 🎢 ride to remember
is happening!
Hang on to your seat and enjoy the ride!
👏 👏 🙂 🙂
This is going to be a hoot, Goldman in NY is crying already.
This is going to make history. Good history is what I’m betting.
He’s billing it as a regular Greek Tragedy
Gen Z, X and now Alpha are going to love these two guys.
Imagine policy, ideas, waste and savings all visible online 24/7
They should love them, it’s going to be there country, it will be the economics courses that they didn’t get from that student loan.
There will be plenty of jaw dropping. Things like studying shrimp on a treadmill, my all time favorite.
Uh, guys – they already do!
Elon’s coolness factor has whipped through those generations like a knife through butter.
They like Vivek too – but I think in his case it’s more reflected glory.
Vivek has been on Jordan Peterson podcast regularly and several others. This guy is super smart and likeable on his own. Check out his chat with Lex Friedman
Something brand new, and welcome, to the American experience.
This stuff is getting better by the minute.
I bet the sales of laxatives and hemmoroid medicine in the DC area is about to explode.
Expose everyone of these incompetent, corrupt, narcissistic, hubristic civil servants to the point they can’t walk down the street without being shamed and ridiculed relentlessly.
Oh…to own a liquor store.
I think you just won the thread. 🤣
🤣
😃 😀 😄 😁 🤣
I love thinking about all the Swamp suburb creatures having hissy fits and panic attacks. Never is there ever a more snotty group of people than the NOVA suburbs. This year they might think twice about paying 50 grand for a McMansion Christmas decorator.
The same ones bemoaning that people voted for DJT because of the economy. “Just get a better job”.
Okey doke, government employee buttercups, I hope you’re scoping out those jobs now.
I guess they’ll have to learn to code. 🤣
Sunlight is the best truth!!
Another approach could be that Witcoff gets the heavy lifting in the ME, while a SecState Rubio can be focused internally, charged with bringing the State Department into the 21st Century and establishing modern diplomacy paradigms consistent with 47’s economic approach.
Finding opposing sides’ common economic interests, rather than State Department’s spending literally decades composing and revising and fine tuning grievance lists, must be their future charge. Basically, training those at State to put together diplomatic economic deals. Rubio would probably be good at it, and getting State on board with 47’s America First approach would be YUGE.
Just as the Defense Department is accused of always being ready to fight the LAST war, the State Department always structures its approaches to resolve the last conflict, not the one in front of them.
It’s got to be the Asst. Sec. Of State. Rubio has had only government employment as a job. He doesn’t have any idea about implementing economic policies. But I agree with you. The State Dept. needs to be ridden of all former & current Soros employees. And that’s just a start.
We voted him the Captain and need to just’ let go and let Trump’….. He’s at the helm now……as difficult as that may feel with our SUBSTANTIAL collective and individual expectations after such a long draining battle….
BUT we HAVE a DreamTeam…..LITERALLY…..
Rubio will be out, but they’ll probably install a like-minded clone as SSCI.
I wonder how much PT tough AG (hopefully Paxton) might be weighing in on potential moves?
For example, will PT’s new AG begin to look into money laundering or kickback schemes in DC.
And if so maybe it is best to get out of Dodge now? All speculative but if the rule of law is now going to be enforced by a honorable AG and if the heat is getting turned up maybe this creates some exit strategies?
Just a wild ass guess but things are a changing in DC that is for sure.
Benny Johnson’s show should take a look at DC moving van and U-haul engagement…
Witkoff can show them how to clean up Gaza and make it a nice tourist spot.
Just a few miles north in Israel the beaches are great and the water is beautiful.
Posted in the daily resistance thread but wanted to post it here because it ties into confirmations – they’re trying to steal PA to get the “lead” down to an even 50-50. Murkowski and Collins are not Republicans. Once it’s 50-50 in the Senate, McConnell or one of his crew will flip and side with the Dems to block appointments and control the process. They already stole WI, AZ and NV and are “finding” more votes in PA right now. Like the elections, they just needed to get it “close” and they’ll do the rest.
Exactly.
So refreshing to see some cautious optimism that Team Trump actually has a strategic and tactical plan they are executing.
So the Abraham Accords were the cornerstone laid in the first term for the building of peace which the master builder President Trump will finish with his second.
The peace which has eluded president after president.
Is this perhaps an answer to Almighty God’s having saved President Trump on that terrible day in Butler?
I wonder…
Literally said what this article says yesterday in the daily thread, that getting Rubio off the SSCI was paramount and he’s more easily managed as SoS. Got lit up for it and yet here with are today with an entire post on it. Don’t even get a producers credit lol.
Here’s your credit, you were ahead of me by 2 days. I was starting to see this yesterday but wasn’t putting it out there with any certainty til I saw what was being announced & in what order tomorrow.
Well done!
We can’t expect to get everything we want just because Trump got elected. But getting someone deeply imbedded in the SSCI to voluntarily leave the post and leave multiple openings for *potential* better candidates seemed like a huge win. Is it perfect, no…but what in life ever is.
The thing is that there are a few directions that this can go with some associated backstops, in case anyone balks or goes rogue. I’m stilling missing 1 or 5 pieces but believe we’re on the right path. Some of it is just difficult to have faith in but seems like the right power play(s).
Why assume DeSantis won’t appoint himself to replace Rubio?
If he still has dreams of being POTUS, that move could haunt him.
The Miami Herald has spoken to one attorney who says FL law does not preclude him from appointing himself, but that the usual route to that would be to resign as Gov. and then have the LT. Gov who is now moved up to Gov, appoint him.
The optics are very bad, I would think. Should he run for POTUS against people like Vance, Rubio, and some others, they would have an easy attack line.
Very good point, I would also say not appointing someone recommended by Scott or Trump could back fire as well, another point to defend against during 2028 primary.
Be interesting for sure.
I silently thought that PDJT had/has something up his sleeve…
Another viewpoint might be that the Israel lobby is getting exactly what it wants.
Whitkoff and Huckabee will not only bring peace to the Middle East but also reestablish the Abraham Accords.
Looks like a super 1/2 punch put in place by PT.
I expect the people of Iran to be free before 2028.
If all of this is also tied to Thune getting SD governor, and Rick Scott becomes majority leader (still an uphill climb, McConnell has a backup plan…Cornyn).
But I suppose there’s an outside chance we get a majority leader who will appoint MAGA senators to key committees. That also helps Trump.
Won’t Lt. Governor Larry Rhoden move up?
I’m assuming he will, but this is about the next SD election. This part is the weakest link in this plan, because it assumes Thune wants SD governor more than Senate Majority Leader (which may not be true), plus he has to win the SD governors election next time it comes around. This easily could go sideways. But that’s why (I think) he has Rubio whipping votes for Scott in exchange for SoS as a backup plan. As a backup, backup plan, he may offer Thune something even better (I don’t know what). It’s that critical that Scott become Senate Majority Leader.
It’s more difficult to ascend to POTUS as a senator than governor. Only 3 in history have done so. So assuming Thune doesn’t aspire to be POTUS he will be primaried in 2028 & not receive a PDJT endorsement to hold his seat versus receive the PDJT endorsement for SD Gov.
All this said , I think he’ll soon realize he’s rolling the dice with any future aspirations he may have. He has to win the vote in the first round tomorrow. If he doesn’t than IMHO he’s cooked in more ways than one.
It’s more about what Mrs. Thune would like. Happy wife, happy life.
Who selects Rubios SSCI replacement?
Senate Majority / Minorities leaders make the selection for committee chairs. Usually based on seniority.
Usually based on seniority–aka dirty laundry.
Somebody posted the next-in-line list above and it was definitely stinky laundry in need of a bucket of those little scent-bead thingies.
Scent beads only cover up the stink. What we need is industrial grade bleach. 😂
Not on seniority. It’s entirely up to the Senate Majority Leader. Hence this fight.
Senate Majority/Minority (GOPee) leader
Well they could bequeath to POTUS the nations looming bankruptcy as the designed implosion occurs; and Rubio along with Sen. Gillibrand and their AARO alien stuff – announce they’re enacting Project Bluebeam and there are aliens are among us. They captured our government back when Eisenhower had that “lost weekend”.
So Elon Musk saves the day! with his DOGE coin as our paper is now Weimar Californian, but not before we learn as they rip off their masks and they’re all giant bugs like that movie.
All hostile forces from Mars. It explains some if not most all of this insanity.
Lol what.
I think Trump leaked the previous couple days for the fake. Rubio?! Riiight…
I thought so too.
But sundance is making a great case for why this might happen.
Convince Kari Lake to move to Florida she probably has spent enough time there already and have DeSantis appoint her as Rubios replacement
Carpetbagging works sometimes. NY readily accepted Hillary and Bill as New Yorkers and Hillary ran for Senate .
Think about how different history might have been had Rudy not gotten prostate cancer and dropped out of the Senate battle against Hillary.
However, most voters look suspiciously at carpetbaggers. Hillary had the benefit of New Yorkers liking big names, and the benefit of her husband Bill’s successes.
Worked for RFK Sr.
Best looking compared to Hillary
Eric Hovde has posted that a 4am ballot drop in Milwaukee had 99% dem votes that wiped out his lead. If the chess playing is to gain solid backing in the Senate then the Wisconsin seat needs to get more attention than it has gotten so far. The results cannot be rubber stamped.
How big was the drop that yielded 99%?
103 K
Doesn’t this assume that Scott is selected Majority lead tomorrow?
That would be a tremendous accomplishment, orchestrated by the Very Stable Genius President Donald J. Trump!
TGP was speculating Scott has less than 10 voters yesterday.
That’s what all this maneuvering is about. A lot of moving parts here.
The only booger in the punchbowl with the plan is Rob DeSantis getting to appoint Rubio’s replacement to the Senate.
Longtime followers of this site should be sufficiently educated about Meatball to know he’s not MAGA and not loyal. He doesn’t do the right thing, just like he was AWOL when the dirty FBI hit Mar A Lago, just like he stabbed Trump in the back and allied himself with the Bush/Sea Island crowd. It’s not much difference than Nikki Haley getting to make the appointment. Meatball will appoint a real schmuck more than likely.
Meatball will appoint a real schmuck more than likely.
Well – only if he’s entirely sure it won’t hurt his own future chances for a Prez run.
Meatball is first and only about himself.
Sundance, a Treeper suggested there could be a deal where Thune goes for South Dakota Governor with Noem out, and supports Scott for Majority Leader. I’m in Tennessee, and we had a development this evening that could lend credence to that. Senator Blackburn, who we just re-elected, had said she was going to support Thune. She has heard for large numbers of constituents in the last two days urging her to vote for Scott and call for a non-secret vote. Then this just came out this evening:
“Sen. Marsha Blackburn reposted Matthew Boyle @ @mbo…9m BREAKING: @MarshaBlackburn just called me after Senate GOP leadership candidate forum and said she is supporting @SenRickScott for Senate GOP leader. story TK on Breitbart News”
I would love nothing more than to see an upset.
It this is true, I will take back the expletive I called her yesterday.
Behold ye Treepers the power of the PHONES!
Burn ’em up.
Yes, get him out of the chair.
So, Trump is playing 4D chess here. 🙂
It’s nothing that GOP-e, the intel folks, and Rubio can’t see.
Once Rubio is Sec of State, they’ll have counterplays. “If you do this, Mr. President, we’ll do THAT and your popularity will plummet.”
Bring in Noem to get rid of Thune, who is enamored of the idea of going back to South Dakota as governor. Get rid of Rubio, who won’t matter as SecState because Trump uses money, not bullets and bombs to get his way. It’s the trade appointees who matter, and here the Trump team is first class. The same thing applies to nominees from the House. Once appointed, they can be fired or worked around. DJT knows what he’s doing here.
