The Deputy Director that fills in as Acting Director is only there until the President nominates, and the Senate confirms the next Director of FBI.
Wray can resign on Monday and Biden nominate a new Director on Tuesday. Schumer schedules the confirmation hearing and there’s a new Director of FBI by the end of the month.
The new director will serve a single 10 year term unless Trumps fires him/her.
Director of the FBI isn’t like a cabinet position (like the AG) where an incoming president gets to pick his team. The Director of the FBI is given a single 10 year term. The purpose was to insulate the position from political pressure.
President Trump gets to pick the new FBI Director who will need Senate confirmation.

He’s over the moon about the election, the mandate, Putin and Xi calling Trump, etc. He told me his wife voted for Trump but still doesn’t like him. Her dislike of his personality has been a topic at their house for years. Problem is she doesn’t really know Trump’s personality like she should. But she had enough sense to vote for the capable person anyway. Who the hell cares if she never likes him, she’s knows he’s going to fix it!
Same with my neighbors who fled CA to ID three years ago. They say they held their nose and voted for Trump, but thought he was to pompous and brash. My retort, faith without works, right? Spoke with my Trump-loving sister in law who lives in Franklin county KS. When she went to vote Tuesday she was told she had already voted. When she pressed that she had not voted. They told her there was a “glitch” in the system that since she had voted in the primary it was counting her as having voted in the general and had her complete a provisional ballot. Bt hear ballots haven’t been counted yet. If this crap is happening in a red county in red-Kansas, think about what’s still happening all over to diminish Trump’s historic popular vote numbers.

Kansas is sliding to the left and we have too many Rinos here that are happy to let that continue. One in five Kansans live in Johnson County (Kansas City area). Shawnee County, where the state capital, Topeka is, is moving left. Trump won there by less than 1% I believe. The Wichita area is still red for now. That and the rural areas are the only thing keeping Kansas red. Kansas City, Lawrence (home of KU), and to a certain extent, Topeka, are blue. Basically Northeast Kansas. I live here and I’m surrounded by liberals.

I was an observer on 11.5 at the highest volume VC in OC and I can tell you I was shocked at the sheer volume of provisional ballots being cast among other things. As of now there are over 43K provisional votes to process!! There are also about 300k mail in votes left to count.
If you live in Southern California and can volunteer observe please send a text to Urson at (714) 417-6875. To be an official observer that can report issues requires some training he can provide. To observe and not be able to report does not require training.
