Feds Raid Home Of Trump-Supporting Farmer, Businessman Alfie Oakes
Federal agents raided the Florida home of businessman and farmer Alfie Oakes, a vocal supporter of President-elect Donald Trump, on Thursday.
Law enforcement was seen at Oakes’ residence in the Villages of Monterey community in North Naples and at an agricultural packing plant in Immokalee, according to NBC2 News.
A man wearing an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) shirt was seen carrying a computer out of Oakes’ house, the outlet reported.
Other agencies involved in the raid included the U.S. Secret Service, the IRS and the U.S. Department of Defense Office of Inspector General, WINK News reported.
Oakes is the founder and CEO of Oakes Farms and the Seed to Table supermarket. He made headlines in 2021 for defying COVID-19 mandates by keeping his stores mask-free.
Oakes told the outlet that “everything is all good” and said he was “not sure” why his home was being raided. He then reportedly drove away from the property in a blue Range Rover covered in Trump decals, smiling and telling the outlet, “Go Trump!”

Federal judge strikes down Biden program for undocumented immigrants
A federal judge in Texas on Thursday ruled against a Biden administration program for undocumented immigrants married to U.S. citizens.
The ruling means roughly 500,000 people who lack legal status but are married to a citizen will have a longer process to get a green card. The program, called “Keeping Families Together,” would also have benefited stepchildren of U.S. citizens by creating an easier path to citizenship.
The Biden administration created the program in June after pressure from immigrant rights groups.
Texas and 15 other states sued, saying the program was harmful to them and would encourage more unauthorized migration.
U.S. District Court Judge J. Campbell Barker said in his ruling Thursday that the administration doesn’t have the authority to create such a program.
He sided with Texas, which argued that the program would have burdened it with costs associated with education and health care.

Concretely, Jordan was referring to data showing “a 2.1 percent decrease in violent crime across the country from 2021 to 2022” that was last month revised to “show that violent crime had actually increased by 4.5 percent from 2021.”
“The FBI did not publicize its revision of 2022 violent crime data, and the only way to see this change is to download the FBI’s updated crime data and compare it to the previous year,” the lawmaker said in a letter, adding that the update was not mentioned in a press release about violent crime data for 2023 either.

Chinese citizen arrested again, accused of trespassing at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago
A Chinese national was arrested for trespassing at President-elect Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Zijie Li, 39, was arrested on Thursday on charges of trespassing after warning. Li had previously been arrested for trying to get into Trump’s home.
Court records obtained by Newsweek show that Li, who lives in California, was taken into custody by the Palm Beach Police Department around 5:15 p.m. on Thursday after he was dropped off at the location by an Uber. Members of the Secret Service, Mar-a-Lago security, and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office were already stationed at Trump’s home.
Li remained in custody at the Palm Beach County Jail on Friday morning. Circuit Judge Donald Hafele set his bail at $100,000.
Li’s visit to Mar-a-Lago came on the same day as he was released from a mental health detention, according to the Palm Beach Police Department.

(1) I’ve read that post-WWII, Austria made an agreement with the Soviet Union to remain neutral, staying out of NATO, and with no foreign troops or military installations on her soil. In return, The Soviets did not take Austria over, as they had done in other parts of central and eastern Europe.
That agreement is still honored. In fact it was written into the Austrian constitution in the 50s. And they seem to be doing fine.
I learned about this because I was curious about why Austria is not a member of NATO. This is the reason.

Recently, in the ‘hood of the Windy City, a young police officer was shot by a ‘hood rat….on what was reported initially as a routine traffic stop, the perp just opened fire, unprovoked….shot and killed. 26 years old…just starting his life and not even in his prime…
FEMA was on the ground in those affected states and saw first hand the devastation to citizens…last I heard there were still missing people in WNC…
I am praying the rest of America, finds its ‘heart’ again but I think it will take a couple of generations…rant over…for now.
Quite a few have posted support of wholesale firings of Federal agency employees, completely dismantling the agencies, and so forth. This is a good example of why that should not happen.
From what I’ve read, the only reason this anti-MAGA person got caught was because those she supervised made a point of documenting her discriminatory instructions.
Fire the woman in charge, don’t just transfer her to a different FEMA office. Then promote someone else to her position, perhaps even someone who documented the blatant discrimination. Work with the honest employees who know how an agency works and can help to reform it from the inside out, from the ground up. That knowledge would be a huge asset to a new Trump administration.

Sometimes the only weapon a federal employee has short of quitting is to document it well, via email to self or other means, in the hopes that a later FOIA or legal action will turn up the incriminating evidence.
I would imagine there has been a lot of that going in these last four years.
