It took me awhile to listen to Trump’s 3 hour interview with JR. But I’m glad I did before list to this. I totally understood Trump like Vance did, Tapper had to twist himself in knots to get there.
I found JD Vance insistent but not strident or shrill in his defense of Trump which doesn’t turn people off.
Vance did a masterful and cogent job of trying to speak to Tapper, a lying muck raker of the worst sort. No surprise there.
A lesser man than Vance would’ve hauled off and pasted Tapper right in the beeper, just to get him to shut up so that he could address

Pence was chose as VP because the RINO’s in the Senate told Trump they would sink his entire campaign unless he chose someone from their little RINO club. In other words they “Reagan’d” him.

Man, Vance has an elite, highly logical mind. (I know and recognize that, because like the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz, I specifically crave and value, but unfortunately, lack that attribute. 😉) I’m not sure there is any better pick that Trump could have made for VP. Sure, there are a host of others one could attribute the same qualities to, but Vance is a sitting Senator, an WOT veteran, a published author, i.e. a proven political entity.
I’ve said many times, that due to my (50 year+) history with the GOP and so-called “conservative” movement, I really trust no one anymore. However, Vance is growing on my pretty quickly. I think he could pick up Trump’s mantel in 2028 and run with it. Compared to someone like Palin, who many of us favored when she burst onto the political scene, he seems to have substance behind his talk. I don’t know (or doubt) he’s a Christian believer, based upon his marriage to a Hindu woman, but he seems to be a classically moral, and again, logically astute gentleman. I’ll be watching him closely in the future.

Glad Sundance is finally “warming up” to JD Vance. Most of us thought Vance was a terrific pick from the get go…Miles better than Ben Carson would have been.
Dr. Carson is a man of great integrity and courage and moral authority, but I am not sure that he would have had the vitality to stand up to the rigors of the campaign.

I paid no attention to JD Vance’s autobiographical book, “Hillbilly Elegy“, when it was first published several years ago. Who wants to read about a dysfunctional family? I read it this past summer and could not put it down. It was thoroughly enjoyable and eminently readable, page after page. The movie was also enjoyable, but the book is better, more entertaining and thought provoking.
