THE “MESOCONSERVATIVE” HERESY (WHICH COULD DESTROY MAGA IF LEFT UNCHECKED)
Over the past few weeks, I have been reflecting on a little-known term called “mesoconservatism.” First coined in 2003 by the late Lawrence Auster to describe traditional conservatives who supported the Iraq War, since then the term has very rarely been used outside of Gen-Z political meme circles. However, if we were to incorporate this term into serious political discourse, the result would be a changed game.
Since day one of Donald Trump’s first term, there has been an enigma surrounding so-called “MAGA conservatives” who vocally support Trumps agenda while simultaneously being unapologetic interventionists and in many cases defenders of the post-9/11 security state. In 2024, Richard Grenell is probably the most well-known such individual. Although prior to him turning on Trump Mike Pompeo was an even more well-known such individual. For years, orthodox MAGA conservatives have struggled on whether to label such individuals as neocons or as MAGA, even though from an objective standpoint they don’t fit either category. But if we were to introduce the terms “mesoconservative” and “mesocon” into serious political discourse, a category into which such individuals could fit would finally exist.
With that said, I have looked into the differences between neocon foreign policy and mesocon foreign policy. And, perhaps to your surprise, I have concluded that the latter is in fact the more dangerous of the two. Why? Because while the neocons tend to focus mostly on Eurasia in general and the Middle East in particular but largely neglect our own backyard for ideological reasons, the mesocons focus on both Eurasia AND our own backyard.
On the surface, this reasoning may seem absurd. One policy supports securing our borders, the other does not. In what universe would the policy which supports securing our borders be more dangerous? Well, what if I told you that mesocon foreign policy toward our own backyard included not just secure borders, but also more interventionism in the region? Which would mean, a greater likelihood of Washington starting a major war in our own backyard? Meanwhile, Washington would NOT be backing down in Eurasia. It may or may not pull out some troops, but it would nonetheless continue to antagonize countries like Russia, Iran, and China in other ways which could still lead to a major war. Now the flashpoints are no longer limited to Eurasia, they have also spread to our own backyard. And if any one of them sparked a major war, our ability to secure our border would be impaired or perhaps even destroyed, especially if nuclear weapons are used.
Another major threat the mesocons pose would be in the realm of civil liberties. Despite being fully aware of how easy it has become for the post-9/11 security state to be abused (particularly against Donald Trump and his supporters), they not only support keeping this system alive but also support expanding it. In an America where mesocons control the post-9/11 security state, Washington would be cracking down on political dissent harder than ever. It would be waging lawfare against Democrats and Republicans alike, sparing almost nobody in the former and only a few in the latter. Nobody would be safe from Washington’s wrath, except the mesocons themselves. Socialists, neo-liberals, centrists, neo-conservatives, and nationalists alike would all be targeted for one reason or another. And I assure you, this is an outcome that NOBODY wants, minus a small but powerful cabal which aspires to hijack MAGA and remold it in their own image.
Which brings to a third and final reason why the mesocons are more dangerous. Unlike the neocons, they have not (yet) locked themselves out of MAGA. Even now, they are still in Trump’s good graces, and have yet to fall out of his favor. They are looking forward to Trump being re-elected, because they believe they can push his policies in their own direction, just like they did (to a limited degree) during his first term. And even if they ultimately fail at that task, they still have an insurance policy for 2028. His name is J.D. Vance. And should they get him into the White House, MAGA could well become beyond saving going forward. With Trump termed out and Vance now President, the latter would have free reign to bastardize MAGA as he pleased. And knowing his political acumen, he very well could pull it off without angering Trump and provoking him into sponsoring a primary challenger in 2032. After all, if he was able to deceive Trump, Don Jr., and even Tucker Carlson in 2024, who couldn’t he deceive?
This is why, after this election, we need to put all our effort into purifying MAGA, and purging the mesocons and their allies from any positions of influence. Because if we don’t, it could mean World War III breaking out, if not during Trump’s second term than during Vance’s first…

A mesocon is someone who is paleocon on domestic policy but neocon on foreign policy. And mesoconservative foreign policy is arguably more dangerous than neocon foreign policy because it expands the map of potential flashpoints which could start WWIII by increasing intervention in our own backyard while refusing to scale down intervention in Eurasia. Many mesocons are also support the post-9/11 security state and would oppose any efforts by Trump to dismantle it.
In my opinion, your characterizations and categorizations amount to something akin to “how many angels can be made to dance on the head of a pin”, and are equally unproductive. Rather than dicing, mincing, and chopping within our very own ranks, let us save our energies for the monumental efforts which will be required to save the Republic when Trump wins on November 5. If an electoral fraud (steal) is pulled off by the forces of evil again, as in 2020, I propose that the Trump supporters conduct a campaign of civil disobedience and general strikes until a successful re-establishment of our formerly free society is achieved.

There are more important things to worry about, like beating the cheat and winning the election so Trump can bring MAGA to our country. We can worry about the RINO’s as well but Vance deserves a chance to prove himself. I wouldn’t classify Vance as a RINO just yet. It’s okay to be skeptical and to question his allegiance, but he deserves a chance.
Now if we want to fix the RINO problem then we need to fix our elections. We have to return to paper ballots where there is a true audit trail.

As I’ve made clear multiple times on today’s thread, I believe J.D. Vance is a very dangerous man. And to double down I will add that he needs to be kept out of the White House through any sensible option.
Now, refusing to vote for Trump on those grounds isn’t a sensible option. But you know what is? Pressuring Trump to force Vance out as VP. With the Vice Presidency vacant, Trump would then be able to pick a new VP, who would then need to be approved by both Houses of Congress.
Assuming that the GOP controls both Houses AND is willing to rubber-stamp whoever Trump chooses, who would YOU choose if you were Trump? I’ll list some options below (all taken from the Election Betting Odds page for the 2024 VP pick), but feel free to pick someone else entirely if you wish.

If Vance resigns (i.e. is forced out), then Trump can appoint a new VP, whom Congress would have to confirm. See Section 2 of the 25th Amendment.
This has already happened twice before. First when Spiro Agnew resigned and Richard Nixon needed a new VP; and again when Nixon resigned and Gerald Ford became President, leaving the Vice Presidency vacant.
Granted, I dislike most of the people I gave as options just as much as you do. But I included them to be fair. If they were floated as potential VP picks in 2024 before Vance was picked, it wouldn’t make sense to exclude them from any survey asking about a potential replacement for Vance.
With that said, my own first choice wouldn’t be any of them. It would be either Rand Paul or Tulsi Gabbard.

Once he is elected again, I hope our REAL President, President Trump, will make a serious effort to destroy the deep state and open government in general for all to see. Too many secrets and whispers behind closed doors are not good for our Republic. President Trump’s new administration should be noted for its openness. Tell the truth for a change. Wouldn’t that be a refreshing change? Unless there are overriding security concerns, tell the people what’s really going on. If we have contact with beings from another world, say so. Empty the Smithsonian’s warehouses, etc. It would be so refreshing and encouraging to have a government that did not hide its questionable acts behind classified documents. As a former member of the intelligence community, I used to scratch my head in awe at some of the classified documents I saw. “This is classified? Why? What’s the point here? It makes no sense!” I asked myself more times than not when reading most classified documents. Yes, some should be classified, but not nearly as many as were. This is my $0.02 on that subject.

Recently, the potential Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) crisis came to our attention when Democrats began telegraphing that overseas voters could be the key in 2024 to winning and perhaps even overturning the election results one week or more AFTER the election.
As reported earlier by Patty McMurray, the DNC’s stated goal of winning the votes of approximately 9 million Americans through its Democrats Abroad website seems impossible, given that according to a recent report by the federal government FVAP website, only 4.4 million US citizens reside overseas, and only 2.8 million of those are of voting age.
Reuters recently wrote about the DNC’s plan to spend $300,000 to register “9 million” UOCAVA voters leading up to the 2024 election. According to the government website FVAP, there are only 2.8 million eligible UOCAVA voters.

Beware of fake polls like CNBC’s that just came out today. They have Trump up +2% over Harris nationally, but up just 1% in the battleground states. There is just no way that Trump would be up less in the battlegrounds than he is nationally, given the heavy Dem voting in CA, NY, IL, MA, NJ, DC, WA, CT, MD. This is how you know these polls are fake.
