Right now, am in a Trump town that has a marijuana initiative on the ballot—that will bring out the uneducated liberal millennials? Still long lines at one precinct—during school hours, older people mostly, lines out the door for early voting.

In 2000 I witnessed vote machine rigging in downtown Sacramento. Why would Democrats have to fix machines in the perpetually safe downtown Sacramento? It is in their blood! The sad thing is that the Whig party advocated expanding interstate commerce by using federal dollars to build roads, bridges, a railroad from coast to coast, etc. They were the party of a great and prosperous future. Even then the Democrats were the party of deep corruption. They needed to protect their oligarchs who ruled with local impunity. Democrats were solidly pro-slavery. The Whigs disintegrated over the issue of slavery. The antislavery faction became Republicans. Lincoln was antislavery but a moderate, preferring to limit the expansion of slavery in the territories. This would lead to a gradual phasing out of slavery over many decades. The other faction of Whigs (Constitutional Union Party/American Party) went for a platform of limiting immigration and preserving slavery and its expansion in order to preserve the Union.
McConnell is just a uniparty crook and oligarch who supports the crooked status quo. He sees that Trump represents the overthrow of the crooked oligarchy in favor of supporting the common man. MAGA!
He claims to be in it for the long game, which for him means eliminating threats to his personal fiefdom and as you stated preserving the status quo. However for the rest of us

I feel like I get a broad view of events and opinions. What Inhave noticed…….FOX is in stealth mode with negative items on President Trump. They are picking and quoting the more negative news items and comments and placing them in their news feed. One example is the Harris comments calling Trump Hitler. And they are being more positive with which comments they run on Harris.

I was recently working the genealogy of a St. Louis family and read the obituary of a once powerful man who once ran a massive shoe company there, founded in 1878. He wasn’t the first to run it, he was just one of the last, but it was around almost a century. His obituary stated with pride how as CEO he had started shipping their manufacturing to China beginning in the 1980s. He is part of the reason St. Louis died. They one were a mega shoe making metropolis. It just makes me sick.
The shoes company was the Brown Shoe Company/Btown Group, who made the Buster Browns and Mary Janes. They used to have lots and lots of manufacturing plants in the USA. They went through many names and are now part of the Caleras company. Back in 2019 they were all b1tch1ng about President Trump’s tariffs.
