UPDATE: We will continue bumping this thread to keep the communication lines available.
...”I live in the Western part of the US; reading these comments is like listening in on a (telephone) party line. This is the first I’ve heard firsthand live reports from the people directly affected. For the first time there is no canned, approved spoon fed mis-information delivered by the faceless and unaffected paid to be there.”….
Which is exactly the reason we keep this thread going!
As the areas in Eastern Tennessee, Western North Carolina and the Western gulf coast of Florida continue recovery operations from Hurricanes Helene and Milton, our thoughts are with those who are still impacted and dealing with the long-term recovery process.
If you have stability and the ability to communicate, we are wondering how you guys are doing.

Working with several ground groups, we have sent toolboxes and resources into the area for the arduous tasks that remain. There are many who feel overwhelmed; just know our thoughts and deepest prayers remain with you. It will get a little better every day.
Resourceful teams (mostly electrical restoration experts) who learned quickly after they helped the Puerto Rico Mountain areas in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria are doing amazing work reaching some of the more isolated areas. These are good friends with a git-r-done approach.
Eastern Tennessee power has mostly returned; however, approximately 23,500 of the 1.5 million customers that lost power, just in the Western North Carolina area still lack electricity as of today, according to Poweroutage.us. Additionally, there are still about 365,000 Floridians without power.
The power restoration in the dense mountain forests of WNC is slow going, some roads and bridges are completely washed away. According to the Associated Press report, “The crews aren’t doing what they typically do, which is a repair effort. They’re rebuilding from the ground up,” said Kristie Aldridge, vice president of communications at North Carolina Electric Cooperatives {link}.
There are widespread rumors and disparate reports of the overall death toll, at last count was well over 200. Anecdotal reports from people in the WNC region put the death toll much higher but are difficult to confirm. We do not want to spread rumors, yet we simultaneously accept this close to the election there is an unfortunate incentive for both federal and state emergency management officials to keep the death toll numbers hidden.
The bottom line is a concern for everyone in the impact areas. Therefore, ground reports are the most valuable. How are y’all doing?
Dear God of grace and strength, in the midst of uncertainty, fear and change we turn to You for stability and strength. Please grant us the wisdom and fortitude to navigate the unknown, the courage to face challenges, and the faith to trust Your divine plan.
Heavenly Father, let Your unwavering presence be our anchor in the aftermath of these storms. Grant us the resilience to face the challenges of recovery with grace and hearts filled with purpose. May we continue to find, patience, stability and fellowship in Your eternal love.
Thank You for guiding us through these uncertain times. In Jesus blessed and loving name we pray. ~ Amen.

Reminder – Mule Packer Christmas in 2 weeks – NC and TN.
See where the a-hole in Chief just dumped another ONE BILLION DOLLARS into Africa. Not one dime for Tennessee or North Carolina.
The money drops are endless for everyone, both internal and external, EXCEPT for those decimated by Helene (the EPA is dropping bucket loads of it to all their parasites as I type – see a post in today (12/7’s) presidential thread. It shows beyond any shadow of a doubt what the Left thinks about American citizens…

🔥🤔 BREAKING:
James O’Keefe releases NEW VIDEO on:
Helene Devastation in NC as FEMA Fails to Deliver Aid

Awesome! Good to see James O’Keefe on the ground in western North Carolina! He, along with Dr. Berg; will help raise the NATIONAL profile of this national disaster. Now…Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump, and others?
And now J D Vance! See below.
Sometimes humor can be the best medicine…even when it’s born of determination.
Well I never . . . !!! LOLZ
FeMa continues to try to discredit the truth regarding the consequences of their intentional malfeasance.
Potential access to veterinarian assistance.
Harrison, Andy with AA Pet Taxi is doing selfless work with little to no pay. I’ve been in contact with him for several weeks. Have also spoken with Paula.
My household is buying Christmas gifts for a family with five kiddos. Andy gave me their needs list and he will deliver. We’re almost ready to ship. Will send a bit of extra cash for Andy for gas and such . . . also a little something for Paula.
“The Captain” has turned out to be a grade a slime ball in truth. PG13 (at least) – quite salty:
https://archive.is/C5wNH
…and that’s the end of that topic. His org and he no longer exist to most of us and for my part won’t be brought up again.
I watched one video of him (pretty sure it was him?) but never gave anything. If it’s who I’m thinking, he didn’t seem genuine. My spidey senses signaled me to move on.
There are far more people like Paul than there are any other. People helping however they can selflessly – and honestly.
The weather is making things dicey in many areas – but everyone looks out for each other and support continues. Another reason that protection from the elements and heating are big priorities.
Speaking of housing…
Yay Oklahoma! My state. Every single county is RED. Stillwater is close.
I wouldn’t bet a penny on it…but would be thankful to God if some of their hearts were turned and they came through.
Horrific doesn’t even begin to cover the actions and inaction of the current government…
This is a fantastic message – but unfortunately the grim reality remains that there remain many who might not make it till then…
Latest update by John. Discussed is a camp setup for families with children, JD Vance’s visit and push to get lawmakers to remove restrictions on tiny homes, campers, and trailers (but freezing in tents are ok…), among other things.
Yancey County help:
Just as with any other group – not all police are good guys… :/
I actually saw this news on the PT. Some stories from Hurricane Helene get posted there where more people can see and be reminded of the victims who are suffering.
I see the occasional bit on both PT and OT – and always glad to see them. Anytime you see something you think to share there or here, please do. They need all the help that can be mustered.
Tents…freezing temps…
Perspective of JD’s recent visit…
Christmas fund raising…
This needs National Attention
North Carolina realtor is processing grant money of Hurricane Helene victims and shows victims who lost everything are only getting $3,500 from FEMA
Also LAND GRAB CONFIRMED. North Carolina and FEMA offering buyouts of victims properties
“I have met with dozens of people in Western North Carolina one-to-one and asked them as I’m processing other grant money, have you received help from North Carolina? The answer is no.
Have you received help from FEMA? The answer is sometimes, —how much did you get? $750, sometimes $300
Or the lady I spoke to this week who’s in a trailer house that has mold, the roof is messed up, but they’re still living in it.
So you know how much FEMA gave them?
$3,500. Now tell me this y’all and I don’t care what side of the aisle you’re on. How in the name of heavens is $3,500 the amount of money that should be offered to somebody whose house is deemed uninhabitable”
“Here’s what’s latest. North Carolina’s emergency system has said they will do buyouts of houses impacted by Helene. Here’s how the buyout works. You can get the money for your property based on pre-Helene values. — Why will they give you the money for the buyout but not to stay in the house you want? Somebody’s going to have to answer that for me.
Well I found out it’s because if North Carolina buys you out of that house they get reimbursed 75% of it from FEMA
Okay, so if FEMA can reimburse 75% of the buyout value and North Carolina has the money to do it right now, how come the homeowner can’t have that money to stay put? Because the outcome of selling your property to North Carolina and FEMA with a local authorities blessing is that then they will finish demolishing and it will turn into green space.”
This whole video is INSANE and again this is from a North Carolina realtor actually speaking with victims and the state dealing with their grants.
Post this on the PT? I’ve been a bit behind, but didn’t see it there. Last time I posted something on there about WNC land grabs, it got a lot of discussion–mainly when someone called the info in my post a “psy op” or something. H3ll, for all I know, it may have been one of your original posts! I try to give credit, but can’t keep up.
I haven’t put any in PT this week. Anytime you think one should, feel free – absolutely no need for “credit” at all. It would be nice to drop a link to this thread with any such posts though 😉
Okay. Got it!
Older veteran helped – and yet another person steps up with campers to help the homeless.
Samaritan’s Purse goes on national TV and directly debunks the FeMa lies about tents…
Scammer alert:
Early on, Mule Packers had a similar hack if I remember correctly. Thanks for keeping this thread as up-to-date as possible. Someday, I hope that this Hurricane Helene saga, with all the documentation, will serve a useful purpose.
Asheville,NC… current situation. Now if Asheville is not getting the appropriate level of help, support, resources, etc… Just how do you think the small towns, remote communities and hollers are doing? They are a LONG way from OK in much of western NC. Please don’t forget about them. If you can help, please help.
Damn! :/
Common viewpoint…
As if there wasn’t enough working against everyone…somehow I just don’t think this was accidental.
USA today, in my opinion, is a rag. However, below is their report. Here are a couple of excerpts:
The fire started Dec. 6 after high winds downed power lines sparking two wildfires in the county. A second fire near Old Fort is fully contained, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
As of Dec. 4, 103 deaths had been reported in North Carolina from the storm.
My question? Will there ever be an update on the total deaths?
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/local/2024/12/10/buck-creek-fire-now-more-than-500-acres-some-homes-still-threatened/76858485007/
*sigh*
The beauty of teamwork between people that care…
Just an extra bit of info – Jason is involved in the facility that Oliver Anthony directly helped at for several weeks.
I take it that Pickles, the dog, was saved also???? That’s what I choose to believe.
This is the last steps of getting a family of 6 soon to be 7 who was left in a disgusting moldy camper and given a last minute demand to move off the land by a Church out of Raleigh. Operation Shelter stepped in along with @Mercury1Charity to fix the situation. We have a beautiful camper and have paid 6 months of RV park fees while we work on getting them plugged into community and get the father providing again.
Another children’s Christmas drive:
FEMA investigation by OMG continues. This is unbelievable. Worth six minutes to watch. There is a “final” Part 4 coming soon, per Okeefe.

Hey, James…you didn’t happen to run into any CNN mooks when you were in North Carolina, did you??? Yeah…I didn’t think so.
Continue to pray for the forgotten people of Appalachia.
Yes! Prayers up. But they are not forgotten by ordinary folks. The media has kept the horrors out of the news cycle. It is up to us to keep beating the drum.
Reminder – tomorrow and Sunday are the ETN and WNC Mountain Mule Christmas events!
FREE Veterinarian clinic tomorrow (Saturday)!

Hmmmm….
In the case of Project Cirrus, after seeding a hurricane with dry ice, the storm unexpectedly changed course and made landfall in Savannah, Georgia, causing damage and leading to public backlash. This incident highlighted the unpredictability and potential risks of such interventions.
So why would they do that? They know what dry ice does. Georgia proved that.
“They didn’t even look at my ID. I just wore a blazer, and it worked,” says James O’Keefe, expecting tight security, upon arriving at FEMA’s temporary headquarters in Hickory, North Carolina. @OKeefeMedia Group traveled to North Carolina to investigate the reality of Hurricane Helene relief efforts, gaining access to FEMA’s offices to uncover the truth.
O’Keefe entered the office of Tom McCool, the Federal Coordinating Officer overseeing FEMA’s disaster response, where McCool welcomed O’Keefe and the OMG team inside, but instead of discussing FEMA’s recovery efforts, he asked where O’Keefe was “from,” revealed he had recently been in “Fort Dix,” and inquired, “which exit” O’Keefe lived off of. Security, becoming suspicious, then ushered O’Keefe and OMG journalists into a separate room, where they were met by Patricia Lea Crager, FEMA’s External Affairs Director.
Our OMG Journalist proceeded to ask Crager, “Why aren’t these people out in the field helping? Instead of being in offices, I thought they were out in the community helping.” Crager responded, “We’re not playing games. I’m not doing an interview,” and declined to answer any questions about FEMA’s disaster relief efforts.
OMG were then met with the FEMA Public Affairs specialist Nicole Wilson, the 2001: A Space Odyssey, “HAL”robot-like entity, who O’Keefe previously spoke to on the phone. Wilson stated, “As of today, we’ve got about $247 million in the hands of North Carolina survivors,” and added, “That’s about 135,000 households that have received that assistance.” When O’Keefe pressed for more information, he was handed more business cards and told to email individuals for answers, despite being in-person with FEMA executives.
To understand how O’Keefe and OMG were able to easily access FEMA’s offices, O’Keefe called Joe Sordi, the CEO of Strategic Security Corporation. Sordi, hesitant to speak, said, “You’d have to send your media inquiry over and then we can get back to you,” and asked, “Are you a YouTube journalist or are you a real accredited journalist from an actual accredited institution,” emphasizing that he only wanted to converse with media outlets of notoriety. OMG emailed Sordi with media credentials and our inquiry, as requested, but have yet to receive a response.
