Having homeschooled two children, with not one dime of deductions allowed, all whilst paying full property taxes to the local woke School District, this is huge!
But it must be handled in the correct manner, which is the devil in the details! I know people who “homeschool” and their children are illiterate and will grow up to be wards of the state, as are they… but if all the money has to be run through the Local District for approval, that’s not the answer either!
The first step is to completely disband the Department of Education and the second step is to end the stranglehold of local districts on the property taxes that are collected…

School taxes should be paid by only those who actually have children in school. That will spin some heads around. Currently, school districts are among the most corrupt entities in the nation.
Not sure how I feel about that, as I do think society as a whole benefits from well educated children, who then grow up to be law abiding productive citizens. I do not mind my tax dollars being spent to achieve that end, but we definitely need to have some very serious conversations about how much “bang” we are all getting for our not insignificants number of bucks!!
As a homeschooling mother, I was determined to give my children a BETTER, more well rounded education than what they would have received at our local public school (which was in one of the highest ranked districts in the state at that time). I did so, at probably around 10% of what the school received in taxes for each student, although I do recognize that I was able to give my children a level of personalized education that is simply not possible in a classroom with 25 students. Ironically, my youngest, who never spent a day in the public school system, and graduated cum laude, from a top university, with his BA at 20, went on to get his Master’s and is now a public high school English teacher. He is truly a gifted educator, IMNSHO, precisely because he sees each child as an individual and tries to figure out how to motivate them to stay involved and to actually care about their future!
But, having said that I support the idea of vouchers/tax credits, I think that also has to come with some level of proof that the parents are actually doing the job, and not just taking the money. It is with a heavy heart that I acknowledge that there are too many parents these days who “unschool” their children – maybe they feel strongly that they do not want their kids indoctrinated, which I understand, but they are not actually preparing them for anything other than a life on the public dole, which will end up destroying the efforts of those parents, like myself, who considered it a full time (albeit unpaid) job!

Harris has made clear that she will go after all sorts of conservative-leaning Christian groups. Famously, she branded the Knights of Columbus, who cook pancakes for parishioners and run charities for children, as an extremist group.
All such groups should brace for DOJ harassment at least or indictment at worst.
Indictment for what, you might ask.
Being pro-life is a crime in Harris’s eyes, and so crisis pregnancy centers will feel the weight of the law. Religious schools that don’t conform to brand-new ideas about gender will be accused of civil rights violations.
Democratic administrations cried “discrimination” when a Catholic school created codes of conduct for teachers that follow Catholic teaching on marriage and sexuality. Expect more of that in a Harris administration.
Recall the Stalin-era saying, “Show me the man, and I will find the crime.” If the Justice Department wants to find something with which to indict a Catholic school, a Christian home-school co-op, a crisis pregnancy center, or even an order of nuns, it can. Given tactical venue shopping jury rigging, it might even win some convictions.
Harris and her underlings will claim they are going only after extremists, not religious organizations, per se. But that is untrue.
The Biden administration labeled angry school parents as terrorists, and the Democrats’ friends in the media brand as “Christian nationalists” those who believe their rights come from God.
It will be incumbent on fair-minded people of the Left and Right and the center to reject this lawfare. It would be best to start by rejecting Harris.” …….
