Trump, speaking at a campaign event in North Carolina, said Ukraine should have “given up a little bit” to appease Moscow and avoid a bloody conflict with its invading neighbor, which he said “didn’t need to happen.”
“We continue to give billions of dollars to a man who refuses to make a deal, Zelenskyy,” Trump railed in a lengthy tirade.
He added that “any deal, even the worst deal, would’ve been better than what we have right now,” referring to the Kremlin’s destruction in Ukraine, which accelerated with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s full-scale invasion in 2022.
“Ukraine is gone, it’s not Ukraine anymore. In other reports, the reason for scuttling the deal is that it contained a requirement that Ukraine could not base US missiles on its soil. This is a very reasonable requirement from Russia. How would the US feel if Russia or China had missiles based in Mexico?
None of this gets reported in the mainstream media. I would bet up to 95% of the American public is not even aware that there was a peace that had been accepted in principle by both Russia and Ukraine that would have saved 600K lives. Why is no one talking about this?

President Trump was president for those instances cited. He is not recognized as president right now, as you very well know. Consequently, he is not in a position to negotiate, deal, coerce, threaten or otherwise engage with dictator Zyy. Only Lindsey Graham is permitted to do that.

Sounds to me like Trump is telling Zelenskyy to take whatever cut of the cash he’s getting while he can, because all that ends soon. But, the upside is the war will end soon too. So it’s win/win. Zelenskyy is going to walk away with a huge bag of cash from corrupt Joe, and this idiotic war will stop.
