Rather disturbing push to ban “mandated shunning” in religious communities, wherein all members are forbidden to communicate/interact with a shunned member. Already, Germany and Norway have punished religious groups for shunning members. It’s the goal of this organization to criminalize mandated shunning and make it a human rights violation as well as a hate crime.
Be very wary of this, while it seems it has so far affected Jehovah’s Witnesses, a guest post on this site targets “fundamentalist Baptists” and the overall tone of the site is anti-religious. I am very sorry even to think that a Christian community would ever contemplate any such thing. And, I would immediately walk out of any such organization and never return. Yeah…a good church will try to talk with the misbehaving member, and the Bible says that if said member refuses to repent, that they are to be cut off from church gatherings until they repent.
That does not mean that individuals (including the pastor) can no longer interact with them, and indeed, a pastor demanding that is overstepping their bounds.
The fuzzy line is private property and church related events. Surely a church can ban certain people from entering the property, as is their right, and that person doesn’t have to be invited to events that are church affiliated. But individuals would always be allowed to continue to interact with that person. And one would hope that would bring them to repentance.
From my experience, most people who disagree with an aspect of a church’s doctrine simply leave and want nothing to do with the church thereafter. I’ve never seen mandated shunning happen in my life, but then I don’t belong to a high control cult.

I visited a church once which at that very meeting described their attempts to give Godly counsel to a young couple living a hedonistic lifestyle and the rebuffing they received, the elders walked through the steps they had taken, and were at the point of excluding this young couple from the congregation.
It is described carefully by St. Paul in the epistles, though we rarely see it/hear of it in the mainstream churches. Then again, we live in a society which denies any correction. Heck, we live in a society which even denies sin is sin.
The plain communities, such as the Amish, still practice shunning as a protection for the remainder. And the very threat of it does keep some on the “narrow path.”
Also, in America, there’s no such thing as “Separation of Church and State” in the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence, people have taken an expression out of a letter and assumed it to be an integral part of our founding documents; it is NOT.

You are talking about church discipline. Church discipline as outlined by the Apostle Paul and shunning people because you don’t like their nail polish are two entirely different things. The church you went may have excused their behavior under the guise of following Paul but if their “discipline” was because of some nebulous thing like the color of the couples’ hair then they were not acting on Biblical principles.
Christian sects like the Amish use shunning for control but again that is based on misinterpretation of proper BIBLICAL discipline.

Where are these laws being proposed? The site you linked to is an Open Minds Foundation – left wing site. They seem to be specifically targeting Jehovah’s witnesses who indeed have an issue with coercion/shunning etc. But I am not sure why all of a sudden we are talking about shunning becoming law and the Amish. In yet another headline you won’t see from corporate media, 75% of those arrested in Midtown Manhattan in recent months for crimes like assault, robbery, and domestic violence are migrants.
In Queens, it’s around 60%, the NY Post reports, citing police sources.
On any given day, Big Apple criminal court dockets are packed with asylum seekers who have run afoul of the law.
The problem is made much worse by sanctuary city laws that mean New York cops aren’t allowed to work with ICE on cases in which they believe suspects are in the country illegally. Additionally, the NYPD says it is barred from tracking the immigration status of offenders.
According to the report, the sanctuary city laws make it ‘almost impossible’ for authorities to handle the problem.
“New York City eliminated a tool to get rid of violent criminals. What a mess,” said Jim Quinn, a veteran former prosecutor at the Queens District Attorney’s Office. “The sanctuary city law is pathetic. It’s disgusting. It’s crazy.”
Compounding matters, police sources say that word has gotten out among the migrant community about NYC’s soft-on-crime policies which kicks criminals back onto the street quickly after they’re arrested.
And even if they do end up serving time, one Bronx cop told the Post: “They don’t care if they get arrested — they laugh if they get sent to Rikers. Where they come from, they get tortured in jail.”

We added a 1500 gal water tank to our well this year with a backup generator. When the faucet has no water it’s a problem.
The hens are laying and our gardens supply all our veggies except for mushrooms that I haven’t grown yet. Been busy canning.

If true and it works anyone who got one of the vaccines and/or booster shots should be allowed at no cost (paid by Big Pharma) to “deactivate the mRNA from these vaccines”!!!!! I pray to God this is true I have family members who took the vaccine to keep their job!!!

Insights from a vaccine-injured celebrity who went to Congress to advocate for the vaccine injured. He was able to get the meetings due to his celebrity status. Here’s what he learned.
There is no appetite whatsoever to remove the liability protection for vaccines. Too many members are dependent on support from the drug companies.
It’s unlikely they will be able to create a $15B fund for the vaccine injured. Only about 5% of the members/staff believe vaccine injured people exist and there is no budget for this. It has to be allocated using a special mechanism that is hard to access.
There are only 6 members of Congress where the staff members have realized that the vaccine harms > non-existent benefits. There are 425 members of the House so that’s only 1.5% who have figured it out.
All the rest believe the benefits far outweigh the risks, so they have no regrets about the COVID vaccination program.
Those members of Congress who do acknowledge the harms privately are afraid to speak out publicly about them for fear of retribution from their colleagues and the mainstream media.
Members of the Freedom Caucus are reluctant to speak out because they know that if they support a bill, the Democrats will vote against it on that basis alone.
And so the murderous vaccines continue…our government is no better than Nazi Germany was.
Okay, this is both unexpected and unsettling.
