In an effort to keep the Daily Open Thread a little more open topic we are going to start a new daily thread for “Presidential Politics”. Please use this thread to post anything relating to the JoeBama Administration and Presidency.
“This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible. Yet, if we do not try then how will we know it can’t be done? And if we do not try, it most certainly won’t be done. The Founders’ Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost.”
“But I tell you this: We will not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night. Indeed, we will make with our defiance such a sound as ALL history from that day forward will be forced to note, even if they despise us in the writing of it.”
This thread will refresh daily and appear above the Open Discussion Thread.

@realDonaldTrump
Thank you Lauren!
Lauren Olaya: “Pretty surreal day in PA yesterday witnessing President Trump welcoming Puerto Rican musicians Anuel AA and Justin Quiles and their endorsement at his Johnstown rally.
Also I want to say this about comments to my stories anytime I post about President Trump
– I’d never send someone a negative and rude message if they supported the other side. Just not necessary.
We live in a free country – thank God! Believe and support who and what you want…”

“…I will say I’ve been lucky enough with the unique honor to spend time with President Trump and his family.
From the first time I met President Trump and his remarkable wife Melania, I realized how much we have been lied to about him.
He is nothing like how the media portrayed he would be.
Respectful, kind, caring, hilarious, a CRAZY good golfer (he beat me by a long shot!), and the most resilient human I’ve ever met.
Also he has raised incredible children which says a lot about him as a father.
He has been attacked more than any president in our history and he’s still standing!
That’s the type of man we need leading our country, growing our economy, and keeping us safe.
As Justin Quiles said yesterday, he’s no one’s puppet! Millions around the world don’t have the privilege to vote so please register to vote no matter who you choose.
It’s an honor and our duty 🇺🇸 For me, #trump2024”

…” A pair of reparations-related bills for the descendants of enslaved Black Americans failed to pass in the California legislature on Saturday after backers said the bills would not move forward.
Authored by Democrat state Sen. Steven Bradford of Inglewood, Senate Bill 1331 would have created a new state fund for reparations, while Senate Bill 1403 would have established a state agency to oversee these efforts and determine who would be eligible. “……

I want to be clear about what happened last night in the California Legislature and my views on the issue of reparations.
For years, the Democrat party has been promising to pay direct cash reparations to Americans who have been harmed by slavery. They convinced voters they were serious about this proposal and that they would enact legislation to make it happen.
When the time came to pass the bills, they went into hiding and refused to bring the bills to the floor for a vote. There were hundreds of activists in the Capitol being visibly ignored by the democrats in Sacramento. They weren’t even allowed to enter the public gallery to watch the proceedings. I’ve never seen that happen.
I met with several members of the public there to support the bills. I found them to be sincere, honest, and deeply frustrated Americans. I believed there should be a debate and a recorded vote on the issue. Politicians cannot be allowed to make promises to the people who elect them, and then hide like cowards when it’s time to go on record. At minimum, the People were owed a hearing and opportunity to know where their elected representative stands on the issue.
I have always been clear about my views. I have not been supportive of California taxpayers paying for the wrongs of slave states. (Perhaps slave states and the Democrat party who fought for slavery should be the financially responsible.)
HOWEVER, I do believe we need to have a conversation about making direct investments and important policy changes into communities that have been harmed by past injustices. This is a conversation Republicans are very much open to having.
It’s unconscionable that democrats this year have spent BILLIONS on handouts to illegal immigrants, including giving them free universal healthcare and down payment assistance to buy a new home! These are people who broke our laws and just showed up in our country. If we have billions to give to illegal immigrants, then why don’t we have billions to invest in our own American communities?
In the coming weeks I intend to have meaningful, serious, and productive conversations on this topic. My message to black Americans is do not blindly support any political party or politician simply because of the letter next to their name. Make them earn your vote!
All 80 members of the CA Assembly are up for election this November. That’s your opportunity to make your voices heard.
It’s a pretty good statement, IMO.
Blacks have rec’d welfare, free housing and other benefits far in excess of any other racial groups not to mention the benefits of free lawyers when they get arrested for the 29th time. Put a price tag on that and they will owe us trillions!
That’s their reparations!
Thank you. That is the part I was going to address, but you did it very well.
6oo k dead, Bill paid.

From the creators of “Sound of Freedom” comes “City of Dreams.”
I’m always a big fan of true stories. This movie is all about one young person’s fight against modern slavery. I can’t wait to see it on Aug 30!!
Check out the trailer you will love it 🙏🏻

Can we be sure they aren’t spraying something nice like “Febreze” or “Old Spice”? Maybe our benevolent dictators are spraying some kind of deodorant or air freshener?
