As many of you are aware, in April we lost our primary Ad revenue because we refused to enforce Google moderation rules in our comment system.
The ridiculous demand for content control within our proprietary commenting system was actually the culmination of years of effort by Google and tech allies who were looking for ways to demonetize our platform and control information from this site.
As a direct and specific result without your direct support now, CTH cannot exist.
Retaining our ability to research, share and most importantly, discuss ongoing events, has been my #1 priority. Thank you again for your insight, wisdom, humor, friendship and support.
There are currently two methods to support CTH 2.0, our ongoing mission and discussion. However, depending on your browser settings (and ad blocker software) the second option may not be visible. There is a screengrab below showing what I am talking about.
The alternative financial support appears directly below the PayPal link in a yellow box as highlighted. Some have said browser settings can block visibility, and I have also heard it doesn’t show up on some mobile devices. I am not sure what the technical issue might be other than ISP filters (now becoming more problematic) and/or adblocking software.
Due to my personal requirements for Treehouse user privacy, and my firm stance on not retaining user data lists, the alternative system does not provide a subscriber option. If you use the alternative support function, each time you would want to support CTH, you have to click it and reenter your information. No data is saved.
Financial support through PayPal remains the most efficient and stable way to support CTH. I know they have received a lot of criticism, much of it well placed; however, my own experience with PayPal has been solid. When CTH was deplatformed and under attack from Big Tech (Eye of Sauron) to their credit PayPal stood firm and supported CTH in continuing their service.
While my experience with PayPal seems to run counter to the outcome described by others, the unexpected supportive position from PayPal made a strong impression on me. Again, perhaps unique, not sure why, but my experience with them has been very good. If that ever changed, I would immediately let you know. The data security and convenience of their system is also solid and useful.
Regardless, there are two options: (1) PayPal and (2) Proprietary. Due to legal caution and the data privacy construct, the Proprietary alternative has a 30-day access lag built in. Meaning, if you use that option, in approximately 30 days the funds become accessible, whereas support through the preferred PayPal option is immediate.
Thanks to everyone who helps offset all site hosting costs, our voice and information remains in the fight. We are committed to staying strong, fiercely protective of user data privacy, and anti-fragile so that we can withstand big tech (Google) targeting.

I’m in monthly Sundance – not sure why I haven’t done this before instead of 1 off payments🤔👍🥳
I almost completed a contribution through PayPal.
But it wouldn’t let me complete without giving my phone number.
As it is, I’m getting tons of solicitation texts (especially from politicians), and I’m not distributing my phone number any more so that it gets spread even wider among brokers / marketers and God knows who else.
P.S. I did just make a contribution through the alternative – it only required an email.
(I use one email account that I also realize will get sold / brokered to marketers. Email is easier to ignore / designate sender as junk / unsubscribe. The folks who send texts keep changing numbers so “Stop” replies and reporting as Spam are essentially useless.)
Those who require phone numbers usually don’t validate them. I am reminded that on old TV shows, they learned not to use real phone numbers to prevent being responsible for generating a lot of crank calls. If I remember correctly, they would generally use phone numbers like “555-1234” where the “555” was an exchange that did not actually exist.

It is getting overwhelming. I think the DC regime is responsible for it. They are about to go up on medicare so they want us to sign up for advantage so they can sock it to us.
I got “hacked” using PayPal and I’ve been a customer of theirs since they started up … it was a MAJOR pain in the you-know-what to get it corrected and I’m STILL getting occasional “phishing” emails thanks to their platform.
Plus … they are contrary to nearly ALL of my personal values — so I do NOT use them anymore for any reason.
I have a Google Voice phone number I use for such situations . . . easy to use and it’s free.
I keep a list of Recent Scam phone numbers (Home Phone) and usually use one of them – for groups like PayPal!
I closed my paypal account a few years ago and won’t use it again. I do use the other option. How difficult is it to obtain your own ability to process payments? 🙂
Just added another reoccurring Monthly donation on PayPal. I have used Paypal reoccurring plans for years with no problems. Monthly reoccurring give the CTH a financial foundation to plan their costs each month knowing that the reoccurring paypals will likely be stable income.

You don’t offer paypal and I do NOT give my credit card info online…NO system is secure, I worked for years in the 80’s & 90’s on secure computer systems and networks.
He does offer Paypal. You didn’t read his full post. The yellow donate button allows you access to Paypal as well as various credit cards.
Paypal worked for me. Getting the secret code in was a challenge.
Well the CTH has a lot of smart folks who have put forward in the comments that you might use cash and buy a preloaded visa card or use the paypal button if you prefer. Some browsers have issues, perhaps switch browsers and try again.

You aren’t concerned that PayPal is accumulating a list of your supporters? Call me skeptical but I question why they didn’t give you trouble when others did.
Paypal works. Yes you must give them your phone number so they can send a one-time confirmation code, every time you donate.

I’ve been using Paypal to contribute here for years. I suppose I set up an account and now the ask me for my password to log in. I am working from a lap-top (if that makes any difference I don;t know).

I dumped PayPal after the Honk For Freedom bull chit but I just click the yellow DONATE sign and it comes up with either donate via PayPal OR “Donate with debit or credit card”. Been donating via credit card for awhile now although Sundance does mention it takes a little longer to clear but CTH still gets it all.

I was able to donate using option 2 with my addblockers and other security features still running. Though the yellow section did not show up on the main page, the “~ Support CTH Here ~” link gave me the other option. Pretty easy.
But I still don’t like entering personal information on the internet and would rather mail a money order if we had that option.
I read CTH just about every day and there would be a big hole in my situational awareness if I ever lost the ability to do that. Glad to donate to the main site that I trust for Truth.

…. now I’m not so sure that was “option 2” that I used. paypal just sent me a conformation email. I deleted my paypal account years ago after they stopped service on a friend’s website for political reasons.

I’m not fond of PayPal – I much prefer this new method.
Our exchange rate isn’t too good and PayPal grabs a few cents off every $ we contribute and then charges us an International Transfer Fee.
