Just an FYI – the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center is located in Aurora. It’s a teaching hospital. When I was there with a family member who was having brain surgery, our rental car had a large rock thrown through the back window of the car. Nothing was taken (because nothing was in the car). It’s sickening that people who have to be there are subjected to crime like this. Stores like Target can close if the crime gets too bad, but what about a premier hospital and the people who work or need the services? The Mayor of Aurora and Governor Polis better get their sh*t together. This is unsustainable.

I grew up in Aurora, Colorado. I lived there from 1959-1974. It was a great town with excellent schools, fine restaurants, wonderful shopping, including a GREAT downtown. Legalized Marijuana, relaxed drug penalties, illegal immigration, etc. destroyed this fine suburb starting in the late 80’s. The mayor, city council, police, and courts are overwhelmed. I don’t see a turnaround anytime soon. My sister has her house on the market. She’ll soon be leaving.
