The question is really, should a network provider be liable for the content they carry?
Section 230 is intended to shield telecom (telephone calls) corporations from legal liability, saying that if the provider does not discriminate based on content (allowing for open speech), they (carriers) are not liable for the content they are carrying. The liability is held by the content creator, ie the speaker of the speech.
For example, if thieves use a cell network to plan a bank heist, do we go after the phone company as an accomplice for facilitating the call? No, they are not liable for individual actions because of Section 230.
Once social media admins began sticking their fingers into the pie, hiding certain types of speech, throwing content warning on others, and favoring one political faction over another, we can argue that the carriers (social media platforms) are no longer neutral providers. They are actively filtering content, which means they allow certain types to pass through for visibility, hence they are now liable for what speech the corporation allows to be heard. This puts the telecom in a rather bad spot, they cannot pretend to be neutral some of the time to retain the legal shield.
Trump had argued that by filtering out Republican & conservative speech, shadow-banning and blocking advertisement revenue (demonetizing), the social media companies were no longer a neutral party. Trump wanted to go against Google AFTER they violated Section 230 by blocking certain speech.
Telegram appears to be the opposite, they allow any speech through on their encrypted network, despite the pressure from governments to regulate the speech (to put their fingers in the pie). I’m not defending Telegram, but it seems that Macron/Biden/Harris is going after Durov personally to threaten Telegram to START filtering politically inconvenient speech.
So you can argue it’s not the same at all.

Our political dialogue is no longer Donkey vs. Elephant, it is something new, never before seen and utterly novel. Described below is the party political divide in 2024. He is correct. One grandchild will turn five this weekend. She’s now in weekly speech therapy because neither one of her parents, nor her older sister, can understand what’s she’s saying. I can’t, and her teachers can’t. She’s also seeing a psychologist for throwing extreme tantrums because people can’t understand her. The two specialists agree there’s a connection. What no one will dare say is the little one can’t speak correctly because SHE WORE A MASK right when she should have been learning how to speak BY WATCHING HOW OTHERS SPEAK.
The kid is incredibly bright and is already doing 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles on her own. She is constantly in my prayers that the speech impediments are resolved. I am sure she is one among thousands of children. Blessings, little A.
Has been my experience with teaching 4 year olds last year. ( I remembered the ones who wore the masks previous years).
An important thing too, a child should see their teacher smile. There is comfort in a teacher’s smile especially when the parent is dropping the child off to class.
I’ve heard that teachers are dealing with children way behind in other areas, as well.
I think your granddaughter will just take a year or so longer but will end up right where she should be (from what little I know about children and speech).

Shortly thereafter, the sitting president decided to end his campaign via a Twitter posting of an image of a signed letter. The president remains in office, and the Vice President was elevated to the top of the ticket. A media blitz rolled out to promote this new, exciting candidate. It is unusual, but points to the general mood of the election. Do you comply or not?

Some are fine with that. Some accept that the untouchable class of bureaucrats run the show regardless of what people want. Not all will comply. In November, we will see just how many do.

With 60 percent of the global population—and 97 percent of those under 30—using smartphones, technology has inadvertently become an extension of our thinking process.
However, everything comes at a cost. Cognitive outsourcing, which involves relying on external systems to collect or process information, may increase one’s risk of cognitive decline.
Habitual GPS (global positioning system) use, for example, has been linked to a significant decrease in spatial memory, reducing one’s ability to navigate independently. As AI applications such as ChatGPT become a household norm—with 55 percent of Americans reporting regular AI use—recent studies found it is resulting in impaired critical thinking skills, dependency, loss of decision-making, and laziness.

VP Harris also spoke in Pennsylvania that day, at an event from 1-5 pm, at the Philadelphia Convention Center.

On Saturday, July 13, Harris will be in Philadelphia to give a keynote speech at the Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote Presidential Town Hall, the Hill reported on Tuesday.
My point is, both “surrogates” for POTUS requiring higher security than Trump were speaking at closed, relatively small events in secure venues with limited entry points on the same date at about the same time in close proximity to a Trump event. Did the FLOTUS’ and Harris’ events hog local Secret Service branch and PD assets leaving Trump exposed? Is it common for both to speak at such minor events at the same time and in close proximity to a Trump rally, the J13 rally being his last outdoor rally prior to his nomination and, by virtue of that nomination, then becoming a higher priority Secret Service protectee?

And sources also said there were also concerns that some of those officers should have been available to help with the First Lady’s visit to Pittsburgh at the same time.
Video from CBS News shows those Pittsburgh officers, just minutes after they were hit with debris, in the stands helping some of the injured, even carrying one to safety.
BTW, their excuse could be that they were news headline hogging, like New Coke was suspected to have been intended to push other soft drinks out of limited store shelf space.
