I have noticed Trump has had a lisp for a few months. Others here disagree with me but I have been hearing it at the rallies.
Try another place to listen. His speech is clear and distinct when listening to Real America’s Voice.
That’s what I’m listening to. I’m not saying I have trouble understanding him, I just detect a lisp. It reminds me of when I had braces and after my teeth were straight I actually had a lisp.

Trump’s very cleverly pulling at loose threads, letting people come to their own conclusions, after suggesting the optics don’t seem right after the Harris coup. Clever also to say he felt sorry for Biden, as it plays on the undercurrents of anger in traditional Democrat circles about how the Obamites have treated him.

Now Musk is talking up Agenda 2050 Megaregions. High speed rail will not work in the US until they move rural and suburban Americans into high density zones
I wouldn’t be a fan of high speed rail. For us, part of the fun of a vacation is getting there, stopping and reading historical markers, visiting museums, etc.
They are planning for a no car ownership for the common citizen.
High Speed rail won’t work even in US Megaregions…. it works in Europe because the cities are very dense and the stations are easy to get to.
We took the AVE from Barcelona to Madrid, and back, recently, and it made sense… it was less than three hours and it took like a 10 minute taxi ride to get to and from the end points.
The California “High Speed” train from LA to SF, for example, makes no sense. It would take easily an hour and a half to get to/from LA’s Union Station and then easily two hours to get from SF to the Bay Area destinations… that plus an hour plus for the required TSA and a four hour train ride becomes almost nine hours.
I can go to the airport and cut that down to five hours…. better yet I can fly to Oakland or San Jose and it makes more sense even… or I can hop in my car and do it in seven hours, max…
The US is simply not set up for rail… it’s either you fly or drive… simple.
And all train systems are money losers, save the Japan high speed trains. All the remaining systems are heavily subsidized by the govt.
The US is too big for trains. In addition the US already has roads.
They work very well in China.
They envision a society where personal ownership of a car is banned for every body but the elites. Like neofeudalism.

Depending on how it might be built, I like the idea of high speed rail or the mag train. Alternative to air travel and possibly better for the environment. Won’t happen for a long time and I won’t be here for it, but my grand kids might be. Interesting what Elon proposed. Much is because of what he is involved with but I think he did give a few ideas that could be good. Nice conversation.

Yes, he is a climate change advocate but not a radical one and is willing to go slowly into finding future energy sources while allowing current energy to keep going. A slow transition was his thought and he feels solar will be the eventual winner in the primary energy field. (Again, what his business is about going forward). Alternate energy sources evolving is inevitable I think just because man is always finding new solutions to make things work better. He did say that taking time is the way to go. I can actually agree with him about that approach although I don’t believe too much CO2 is a problem anytime soon nor that man is changing it dramatically anytime soon.
I thought he was very clear on his stance politically. To be honest, to me he sounded like what a large part of the population would sound if interviewed, along with those to the right of center also. The middle is where many people land with a lean slightly one way or the other. He was very honest about that.
They both did a good job and it was very interesting to listen to these billionaires discuss the topics affecting all of us in the USA and the world really. They operate in a whole different sphere of influence but both seem to be genuinely concerned about fixing the problems we are facing, albeit they never forget their entrepreneurial, businessman roots which isn’t necessarily a bad thing if it helps everyone else along the way..
