From earlier research I know that Trump was pinning the blame on Minneapolis Mayor Frey, I think Trump didn’t know that Frey had contacted Walz requestion MN National Guard deployment. But Frey has defended himself and has proof that he did contact Walz. Here’s the timeline that I have built so far with info coming from CNN fact checks.

We use to go to Asheville way back when we were young kids. It was beautiful. My father did a lot of historical research as a hobby. He would make vacations out of it. They kept a house in the highlands and use to go back to use it every summer. i wouldn’t recommend that anybody move here. liberal stink hole; check out the black population stats. They are all democrats. That really makes a difference about the economy which is poor. A few small towns in northeast NC managed to pull through after covid but many are dilapidated and boarded up.
Lake Gaston and the Littleton/Roanoke Rapids areas are doing just okay.
But Lake Gaston is absolutely beautiful. And so is all the coastal areas of NC….all of the resort areas are doing well. Many people moving to the New Bern/Morehead City/Atlantic Beach area and running the prices up on property.
Keep in mind that NC is a college rich state which drives a lot of the progressive attitudes. This affects Raleigh/Chapel Hill/Durham areas.
Also, the military – Camp LeJeune and Cherry Point Marine Air Base – not really a draw back. They pretty much stay to themselves.
P.S. I haven’t seen any communists running around any of the NC areas I’ve lived in but I wouldn’t go anywhere near the college areas. 😎

A few weeks ago was visiting a neighbor to fix the hose on her outside faucet. She goes inside her house, comes back out with a bag full of food she got from the local food bank. Said they gave her way too much and it was her way of thanking me. I look inside and yep, there’s my stewed tomatoes and pinto beans with giant black expiration dates on the front labels:) It was supremely difficult not to burst out laughing.

One thing I still want to buy is a police/fire scanner. I had mentioned before that I listen online via Broadcastify, but I want a radio in case of an internet or power outage. Two years I bought a little weather radio (Midland ER40) and it’s really cool, I haven’t used the crank yet but it has a hand crank to recharge the batteries. In addition to weather channel presets it can do AM/FM, but not police/fire frequencies.
The Baofeng handhelds cover weather bands along with substantial portions of the shortwave spectrum and are very affordable. I have presets on mine for local NOAA land and marine weather forecasts and use them to test radio reception in the forest as it does vary widely. There are a number of models – I have a number of the UD-82HP.
I use an older Uniden SD-5200 scanner for, mostly, fire but it’s pretty versatile.
Also, one should budget for land and mobile antennas as appropriate to location and, for handhelds, mics/earbuds as needed. Often that stuff runs far more than the equipment itself.

Timely advice. I didn’t post it here, rather than in the open thread, that I laid in some potassium iodide in liquid and tablet form and am training my thyroid on Lugol’s liquid to check for side effects and results.
So far, the uptick in alertness and energy and reduction in old age aches in pains are a positive result. Time will tell if coincidence or I found something the body was missing.
I make my own drinking water on-site and add a couple drops per water bottle for personal consumption.
Water is a good reminder too. I have about six months of drinking water stored and make more and rotate it periodically. The equipment runs off the grid right now but can run off the battery backup or generator or I have hand options to back those up. I pull supply from a shallow well and full time creek.
Right with you on the water supply. I have two wells, one is shallow hand pump, but also have an acre pond stocked with fish. If things got bad, I’d put a life straw into my pond!
Another thing people forget is tarps, shade cloth, and frost cloth. If growing your own food you need to protect it.
Silicone sealants are good for all kinds of things, and you can’t beat a nice size roll of razor wire, although I have a mature thorny blackberry hedge which was cheap and easy to do.

That visit was to Eau Claire. Eau Claire County was blue in in 2016 and 2020, maybe because there’s a University of Wisconsin branch there. If Team Trump analyzed the votes and determined that it wasn’t students but regular citizens that make the county blue, it might be a good choice to go there. If students were the reason, I would have skipped it and hit a county that was red in 2016 but blue in 2020.

Why, you ask, why do the Dems want to lose? Just look at the global picture, Russia and Iran threatening use of nukes, the economy has been awful, now approaching horrific. Commercial real estate going bust, stock market downturn, recession walking in through the door, global economies not doing well except for BRICS, and employment downturn. Cities destroyed by the “summer of love” are not being rebuilt, so no construction jobs, construction materials produced and sold, and the spiral is downward.
The Dems want the fallout of this to land on Trump and hopefully destroy the GOP and MAGA permanently. Just look at what happend to President Herbert Hoover. He inherited the Great Depression giving the Democrats a governing run from 1933 to 1968. He was blamed for the Great Depression and also repatriated to Mexico 1-2 million Mexicans.
That’s why the Dems want Trump to win. But God could laugh in their faces and have Trump’s 2nd term be a triumph. Could be. I’m sure there was divine intervention in his miraculous miss by an assassin(s) bullet.
I think they are actually resigned to losing the Presidency but are actually working on winning the House and Senate. If the control is in the hands of these lawmakers, there is no limit to what they can do.
The reason Kamala and Walz is the ticket(IMO) is because they are the most expendable. They want to keep their best for 2028.
They will pull the lever on the economy, and on war before handing the sh*t show to Trump.
Yep, that’s my posit as well; make a mess, tie it up and drop it in PDJT’s lap if the cheat in the POTUS and down-ticket races is ineffective. If they win, reverse the levers, call the mercenaries home and they’re heroes.

Biden saved them in 2020, but Biden had said he would be a one-term President and the Democrat party was not prepared for him to say he wanted to run again. They couldn’t oust him for no reason, and I think they purposefully let him go through the primary unopposed to allow voters to cross over to the Republican primary to try to make Trump lose the Republican nomination.

A total of 1,331 individual staffers have attended training sessions this year since Aguilar’s office ramped up the internal training program. The most popular sessions focused on legislative topics, with primers on appropriations and suspension of the rules leading the way.
