In a letter posted to Facebook in 2018 as he first ran for governor, retired Command Sergeants Major Thomas Behrends and Paul Herr said Walz retired from his 24-year tenure in the National Guard after learning that his battalion would be deployed to Iraq, despite allegedly assuring his fellow troops he would join them.
Walz further dodged the necessary paperwork to ensure a smooth transition out of military service and “instead … slithered out the door,” the pair added, with his retirement filing showing “soldier not available for signature.”
Having read up on this, he claimed to be of higher rank than he actually was,failed to follow up on his commitment to finish leadership class to keep his higher rank and bailed on his unit just before starting training prior to deployment to Iraq.
He was his his units highest rank commanding Non Commissioned Officer and he abandoned them when it time to actually do the job he had been trained to do: lead a unit onto the field of battle.

Today, Zelensky decided to launch what some Russian commentators are calling the single largest land assault into Russian territory of the entire SMO thus far. What stood it apart from the previous mid-level raids on Belgorod region and such, is that this time it wasn’t the ‘Russian Legion’ paramilitary group—made up of disgruntled traitor Russians—but rather the full force of the AFU itself, by way of the 22nd Mechanized Bridge, from what I’ve seen so far. Details are still coming in, but it’s said to have been around 3 battalions or 1 brigade in size, though some report several hundred troops for now.
The attack was decently well-coordinated and utilized the full breadth of combined arms warfare, with Ukrainian forces leading with a mass FPV drone attack, and pulling up mobile air defenses to cover the advancement.
But near the village of Nizhniy Klin (5-6 kilometers from the border) the column of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was ambushed and destroyed. Most of the armored vehicles were left to burn after artillery and air strikes. The remnants of the Ukrainian army may be hiding in the forests near the border.
A Russian drone spotted some AFU vehicles in a treeline in Kursk oblast and it was decided that an Iskander missile was the best way to make them pay. Any militants in the vicinity of the blast will have been killed or wounded.

The problem with these solar companies is they raked in huge profits and paid ridiculous commissions when 0.99% 25-year loans where available at low finance costs (what is added to the loan).
Instead of helping people destroy their electric bill, they made it slightly better and made sure everyone got a piece.
Now, you almost can’t make a solar deal make sense in this interest rate environment. Cash buyers can see a short return on investment, but those who need to finance pay more per month with the combination of smaller electric bill (night usage because batteries are still astronomical due to mark up at the dealer/installer level) and loan payment. And a lot of utilities are going away from 1:1 net metering (they pay you in credits the same amount you would buy it to use, now if you pay 0.15/kWh you might get a 0.05 credit to offset).
I understand the economics of the utility’s decisions because they want to balance usage, on time of use plans night rates are fairly cheap because few are using the power and it’s hard to shut down the plant at night and spin it up during the day. The problem is you need batteries and they’re way overpriced. There’s no way to make solar and battery cheaper per month when financed in most areas. Cash buyers still have a 7-10+ ROI. It’s more about becoming self-sufficient than saving money.
Newsom and the Democrats want to give free electricity to poor people in California and the utility companies could not do it without ending the solar power subsidies!

I am deeply concerned as there was one respondent who’s husband had had a stroke….and NEVER signed a DNR (do not resuscitate) form yet, the order was in the chart…he had been hospitalized for a stroke and recovered. He and his wife discovered this after they got copies of the medical records. He had never wanted that. He wanted to be resuscitated if need be. They confronted the hospital and the hospital claimed ignorance as to how that appeared in his chart.

I was also deeply disturbed when I read this article about the 19-year-old’s death. So I did some research.
The hospital is Atrium Health – a Level 1 trauma center, a well-renowned teaching hospital, part of a 40-hospital system.
The young man was a promising athlete, handsome, reported as being a happy-natured young man who loved reading and country music. He had initiative: a walk-on at the University of Alabama who did well enough there that he was offered a free ride at North Carolina Central. So, a tremendous loss in every way even beyond the the death of a loved child because he touched many other lives. The accident after 1 am in the rain on an extremely busy highway did not involve impairment on the part of anyone involved and the police will not press charges. He received a traumatic brain injury and was on life support for about a week and a half before he died.
This video posted on Facebook is hard to watch but gives some idea of the distraught pain of the parents but also the difficulties hospitals face being thoughtful and caring for the families of those who lose loved ones. The police finally arrived to remove the family from the room at the end of the video.

Do hospitals want organ donors? Of course. There are long lists of people who are barely hanging onto life who need a liver, heart, corneas, kidneys, people hoping for the chance to have a better or longer life. Organ donors can give them that chance. So, it is something that has to be asked and as you said, “those are not decisions to be made under duress.”
