An enclosed arena just presents different threats than an open outdoor rally. Both have security challenges. The key to eliminating any threat is the number of competent personnel onsite and in the background to properly vet attendees and nullify/secure any areas from which a threat could occur. Given the Butler incident, the federal agencies tasked with protecting DJT and assisting state and local law enforcement failed. The only possible conclusion is that, irrespective of the venue, it is absurd to expect a better result from the same agencies, personnel, etc., that did nothing to prevent an assassination attempt that in fact only failed because DJT turned his head and not through any action of those onsite who were assigned to protect him from such an occurrence. At this point it appears that DJT would be better served by a select privately hired inner group of security personnel that would interact with USSS. After all, didn’t the USSS just admit that they can’t provide security to a POTUS candidate under any circumstance and, by implication, an elected POTUS on the worldwide stage?

According to Dan Bongino the so called shooter was actually going to shoot the people in the crowd at the rally….he was using a range finder on the ground. So, since he had been spotted he went to the roof. No ladder (it was there due to police putting it up after the shooting). Arena and big inside rallies cost big $$$. Perhaps the outdoor rallies will have bullet proof glass around Trump on the platform. Open fields and no buildings. Newly appointed secret service director is even worse. He should be removed also. Could Trump’s team vet the SS detail before any event?
