It was odd on that first night when Joe Biden announced the FBI would be investigating the assassination attempt of Donald Trump, only a few hours after the failed shooting. How did the people around Biden immediately know something went wrong?
Then things got even more sketchy when police reported the assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was spotted and photographed acting suspiciously 30 minutes before the attempted assassination. Unfortunately, they “lost track” of him.
To the commonsense observer, Crooks had to be wandering around the venue for quite a while. I mean, the scheduled start time for the speech was originally 5:00pm, yet President Trump didn’t get started until an hour later 6pm. Obviously, Thomas Crooks would have been doing something for an hour while he waited. What was it?
The sense of something sketchy increased exponentially with all the subsequent updates about the police backing down from the roof when the assassin pointed his gun at them. Especially when considering the lack of Secret Service removing President Trump from the known kill box, and the crowd yelling at law enforcement while Crooks was getting into position, a mere 400 feet from Trump.
Then we find out that multinational media conglomerate Blackrock, just coincidentally used Thomas Crooks in one of their PR ads. To top off the suspicious nature of the networks, Blackrock executives are literally in the White House guiding Joe Biden (see the Donilon family). However, even Suspicious Cat could not make up what comes next.
According to the latest CBS report, Thomas Crooks was spotted by a three-man sniper security detail.
Crooks was seen using a range finder to view the stage where President Trump was soon to arrive. Then Crooks climbed onto the building that was housing the security detail and it was from that position he fired nine shots at President Trump, taking off part of his right ear.
Folks, we are not suspicious enough about this entire set of events.
VIA CBS – There were three snipers stationed inside the building the shooter used during Saturday’s shooting of former President Donald Trump, a local law enforcement officer with direct knowledge of the incident tells CBS News.
The operations plan had them stationed inside the building looking out windows toward the Trump rally. The information about the three snipers being inside the building was first reported by BeaverCountian.com.
One of the snipers inside saw Thomas Matthew Crooks outside and looking up at the roof, observing the building and disappearing, a local law enforcement officer tells CBS News.
Crooks came back, sat down and looked at his phone. At that point, one of the snipers took a picture of him. Crooks took out a rangefinder and the sniper radioed to the command post. Crooks disappeared again and then came back a third time with a backpack. The snipers called in with information that he had a backpack and said he was walking towards the back of the building.
Officers believe that Crooks might have used an air conditioning unit to get on top of the roof.
By the time other officers came for backup, he had climbed on top of the building and was positioned above and behind the snipers inside the building, the officer said. (read more)

When justifying why the Counter Snipers were not positioned on the roof, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle said Secret Service officials planning security for Trump’s rally considered the warehouse 147 yards away from where Trump spoke to be a risky position for stationing an agent.

Yep, my buildings were similar clearspan and they sloped 2 feet up for 20′ of run. The eves were 14′ and the center of the 40′ wide building was 16′.
Also, one doesn’t just walk willy-nilly on 18-22 gauge raised panel roofing, presuming that’s what it is. The purlin spacing typically won’t allow it with denting/deforming. One walks the supports. Did that plenty of times to do maintenance.
Myself, I’d have been in the water tower. Commanding view. If sun was a problem, easy to clamp an umbrella pole to the handrail. It’s not like the government snipers shown were hidden. Because I’ve written about family events and memories in some detail, your comment here immediately took me back to the paragraphs I wrote about the day my dad and mom finally heard the details about what had been decided at Yalta. The day they learned how Europe was carved up and much of it given to Stalin. The information was to be released, via special radio broadcast, on a day in March, 1955. I was ten years old.

I used to work on roofs for a living. I still get on them on occasion. As roof slopes go, this is one of the safest you’ll ever come across. It’s almost flat!
And structurally, I would not be surprised if code dictates the roof be calculated to handle a load of snow.

Good point, forgot the snow load code. Supports and gauge are different from what we use out west in the desert areas where my buildings were. Low pitched roofs need additional reinforcement since the snow won’t slide off like on high pitch roofs.
On my buildings it was easy to walk them, save for walking the supports to not dent the sheeting; I never felt that normal fear of heights feeling I have when approaching the edges because they were so flat. Big difference from the 3/12 and 4/12 residential roofs.
I agree with you – 1:12 or max 2:12. I do know that after a couple years a thin dust layer CAN make them slick as snot but such a minimal slope is still easy to walk on.
Before I got too old to do that kind of thing, I used to do some of my own roof repairs after frequent wind storms would damage some of the shingles. I had a pair of work shoes with soft compliant soles which gripped the roof shingles quite nicely.
My roof was a lot steeper than the one the shooter fired from. To claim that the gently sloping roof on which the shooter was lying represented a dangerous condition for a member of a security team is a complete absurdity. You don’t have to be a conspiracy theorist to appreciate just how absurd the claim is.
Glad to see many pointing out that this roof has a very minimum slope of 1″ to 2″ in height per 12″ in length. The roof pitch of the roof where the counter snipers were is a 3″ to 4″ per 12″ so it is steeper.
But what I find even more fascinating is that in every picture I’ve seen of the sniper before or after the “shooting” is that he is nowhere near the peak/crown/top of the ridge. Look at the two pictures above of the sniper and the counter snipers.
The sniper has a rifle aimed directly forward and yet angled up at same slope of roof. He’s not anywhere near the ridge cap, so why does he have rifle at shoulder pointing forward? You don’t crawl forward that way. And you sure can’t aim forward and down at target below you unless you are at the ridge cap.
Notice the counter snipers are right at the ridge cap so they can see and fire above it and also downwards.

Just gonna throw this out there.
Most “pole barn” type roofs like was on the building the assassin was on, use rafters/trusses from the outside wall line of the building to the peak, n a simple “pole barn type building; & then there are what is called, “Purlins” than are run across those rafter/trusses, perpendicular (90 degrees to the roof rafters/trusses) & in Line with the soffit and the roof line o carry the “tin” corrugated sheeting that comprises the roof “decking/sheathing itself. That roofing sheets run the same as the rafters/trusses & go from the wall line to the peak of the roof ridge.
Done so that the sheets which are usually 3 ft to 4 ft. wide(+/- per the building design) can be attached using “bolt type lag screws” that have rubber type washers on them by the bolt head to hold the roof decking/sheathing down to the purlins & help seal the attachment of “bolt+sheathing/decking” & the purlins.
I just tried to explain the “parts” of that sort of roof system. ( It is not the same as a “stick built framed house, nor commercial type building that use the parapet & flat roof systems, et al.)

There is nothing worse than in a Gubment organization , to have the “leadership” of that organization, to not understand the “Leadership Principles”, & the ” Leadership Traits”that anyone in command of a “unit” NEEDS TO KNOW to be able to “Be In COMMAND” of any sort of Unit/gubment organization.

One of those leadership Principles was that , “You can designate Authority, but you cannot designate Responsibility”.

Meaning,the one as the “leader” has to Take That Responsibility for what happens, regardless if it is a good mission accomplished or a screwed up operation/mission, even though it was the leader who gave the Authority to others. That “leader” still has to take the RESPONSIBILITY for what happens/happened.
I can give examples of both, but ones that come to mind and some “Gubment ones” that folks may remember that were ‘effed up”, are WACO, RUBY RIDGE, MY LAI (in RepVN), TUSKEEGEE AL, for just some of these type situations.

My Theory: A veteran expert marksman was set up on (or in) the building directly behind Crooks. They used Crooks as a patsy/decoy and made it easy for him to get on the roof, get caught, and killed by SS. The real assassins took his shot which would have been a precisely placed head-shot behind Trump’s ear, but missed only because Trump luckily turned his head at the right moment, then quietly slipped away.
I started thinking about alternate scenarios today too. This is right out of “The International” with Clive Owen… and is as plausible an alternate theory as I can imagine.

The picture shows the bullet traveling flat rather than down at a slight angle as one would expect when fired from an elevated position.
One conceivable explanation for the in your face “errors” and failures is that had the attempt succeeded, half of America would have been “encouraged” to take note of the obviousness of the hit, correctly assess the blame, and then take action.

Wouldn’t it make more sense that the trajectory of a bullet being shot from Trump’s left would hit someone in the stands to Trump’s right?
If Crooks’ was aiming at Trump from his left it is unlikely that he would have hit people in the stands behind Trump to his right (unless he was a horrible shot). Based on the fact that he came a whisker away from hitting Trump you could argue that he was a good shot.
I suspect that the shot that killed the guy in the stands to Trump’s right was originated from Trump’s left.
Ballistics and trajectory analysis. Will we ever see them? I doubt it. Will answer the “lone gunman” or not question, and if all the shots could have come from the same location/same weapon.
I suspect Crooks started rapidly firing after he realized he missed. Don’t discount that with panic and wind he could have started going wide into the crowd. He had to expect he was going to be counter-sniped and die. Should it be investigated forensically? Absolutely. But we all know classification is used to cover up peoples’ mistakes.
