President Donald J Trump has selected Ohio Senator JD Vance to be his Vice-Presidential running mate.

Cliff Notes – On the upside JD Vance brings with him the full support of Silicon Valley and unites the various social media clans and venture capitalists (Musk, Ackerman, Thiel, etc.). This means a big boost to the financial position of the Trump campaign, support from half the banking community, and also the absence of internet protocols that would restrict or oppose his 2024 campaign platform.
Additionally, on a geopolitical level, Vance will be unlikely to interfere too much on the global peace initiative; that’s important. Also, Vance will likely not interfere too much with MAGAnomic policy other than oppose tariffs that align against the aforementioned Vance benefactors. JD Vance was heavily pushed by Donald Trump Jr.
On the downside the ‘never trust a Never-Trumper’ axiom was never more true than it is today. The IC-aligned DHS network behind JD Vance opens a Trump administration to the scorpions within the deepest part of the intelligence apparatus. We can easily predict the decade of 2030-2040 now that JD Vance has been selected. The IC silos will predictably go dormant now as things settle in with Vance, at least for a while. Several years ago, comments on this site frequently oscillated between QAnnon posts, to Trump playing 3D chess, to trust the plan. Lots of emotionality! Lots of naivete.
Often when circumstances are very serious, comments in this site display all kinds of panic, distrust, unbelief, discouragement. Are we adults?!!! Do we not have what it takes to fight?
Please, keep in mind, we may not be around to see the results of our efforts and it will be our children and grandchildren who would have gone on to continue what we may have shown them to do.

Not happy at all about this selection. One could argue, effectively, jd Vance is just as likely to sabotage President TRUMP JUST AS PENCE DID by willfully intentionally working with the swamp to throttle his administration. Not happy at all.
I would have preferred Ben Carson. And it’s very simple to understand the reasons why: Ben Carson is an honorable man who has not ties with the Uber rich and is not a political operative. He has elaborated the agenda of MAGA and has embraced it and there is no controversy that he is speaking and acting authentically. not lip service.

I love it. Vance has stated he erred in long ago opinion of President Trump, and I believe him. I have no doubt he is MAGA. He is a fabulous public speaker with spontaneous in-depth responses to questions. He is a marine, which for me is great. He is also assassination insurance, and this clearly is not a small thing.

So far Mr. Vance seems to have been very supportive of President Trump. People can change.
I am a Conservative, but did not trust Mr. Trump in 2016 and did not vote for him. I wrote in the name of someone else (can’t remember who, but it was someone I believed to be Conservative.)
In 2020 I not only voted Trump, but donated money I had a hard time affording, being on Social Security.
I changed my mind about President Trump.
He proved himself to me.
I am willing to give the same chance to Mr. Vance.
My hope now that Vance is the VP, is that Ben Carson becomes the head of Health & Human Services were he installs Dr. McCoullough as the new Director of the FDA and Dr. Robert Malone as the new Director of the CDC.
Mr Carson has a huge opportunity to empty the swamp in the CDC, NIH and FDA and end the rule and control that the pharmaceutical companies have had on these agencies and thus the American people.
Never again should any American be forced to take an unproven vaccine.
Also if we get lucky Ben might be able dig into these agencies and determine if any laws were violated against the American people these past 4 years.

I think most everyone here who are disappointed in Vance, including me, are absolutely going to vote and support President Trump!
My doubts or concerns need some convincing, not political comfort-speak. JD should come right out, at the outset of his speech, and acknowledge his doubts from earlier. Own it, explain it, and then CONVINCE America (and us) exactly WHY he turned the corner and supported our PDJT. Be straight…no BS. Show us how a Marine found the courage to change his mind, and explain how MORE people should give President Trump another look, another chance, to win their vote.
Vance only helps this ticket if he can bring in the many unwashed out there who aren’t core MAGA: borderline independent R’s, the independent and mushy moderate folks, women who like his looks, etc. Some of those may never fully trust or like Trump, but if they like Vance, might be enough.
My 28 year old son has said more than once, “Give us a chance to fix things.”

To everyone concerned about JD Vance’s anti-Trump past, perhaps that crowd needs to be better categorized.
There are the evil backstabbing nevertrumper swine, Karl Rove/LIncoln Project/GOPInc types, but then there were genuinely misguided and naive Republicans who were against Trump early on because of ‘personality’.
Among this type were religious people, in particular mainstream Catholics, who, thought Trump seemed uncharitable and abrasive. I love him, but many midwesterners were initially put-off. Pro-lifers were also worried that he was faking it. They didn’t know how bad things really were. Low info-conservatives and religious. This type came around to loving Trump.
JD Vance was not in the former category. He’s on our side, and I don’t see him being OK with sending more jobs overseas or sending our troops to more pointless wars.

Dr. Carson is 72. In 4 years he will be seventy 76, perhaps he recognized running for the Presidency at the age of 76 is not for him? Not every 76 year old has President Trump’s stamina and energy.

We will see, but I suspect Vance does NOT have that “Insurance policy quality” that I have been touting, and there will be Impeachment charges filed in the House, before PDJT’s inaugeration.

The recent immunity ruling by the Supreme Court might protect Trump from these constant impeachment trials.You cannot impeach over policy disagreements or because you lost the election.
Last term, they impeached Trump over a phone call. I think the Executive Branch is now clearly defined as the “President” and he cannot be badgered over every decision.
