To specify, it’s Cancer of the throat, not esophagus.
Given that’s the diagnoses, the prognosis is what we would pray for; the biopsy showed less than 10 percent of cells were cancerous, and a thorough search found no signs of it spreading to lymph, or anywhere else.
So previous prayers answered, and future prayers for a positive response to treatment welcome.

My grandpa had cancer of the throat in the 70’s. I took him for radiation therapy 5 days a week for a couple months.
His mom died when he was 5 & he had to quit school. He never learned to read or write.
The doctor told him that he would probably lose his voice. He was determined not to let that happen.
Everyday after treatment we would stop for lunch. Spicy chili with onions & a side dish of onions one day, a large hamburger with lots of mustard and onions and a side of raw sliced onions the next day.
He never lost a pound, his voice, or his determination, just the cancer.
Prayers for your treatment and health.

I know 3 who have had throat cancer Dutch. All underwent radiation treatments. 2 of the 3 had issues swallowing for a while, but all 3 survived and are still alive years later. Nutrition is paramount. Prayers for your healing.

I pray that people in this country (USA) finally learn the 100% Constitutional Tax laws, the absolute power the people have always had to keep our government limited from the beginning.

Retired Magistrate here: Please continue to pray for my brother, John, who is back in ICU again. He is a Viet Nam veteran who has ALS due to exposure to Agent Orange.
He has had pneumonia 7 times, sepsis, various bacterial infections, heart issues, etc. I don’t know how he keeps going, but he does. His wife is a wonderful caretaker, but she is worn out. She is with him every day which is a good thing because when he arrived in the ER one of the nurses stated that their goal would be to get my brother off the vent. Of course that would kill him; he has been on a vent for 2 years due to the ALS.
I keep praying for a miracle for total healing; however, that may not be GOD’s will so at this point I just pray that GOD’s will be done. My brother is certainly a fighter and he loves this country, warts and all.

I am so sorry he is back in the hospital…even without ALS, getting someone off a vent who has been on one for 2 years is a bit overly optimistic….but miracles happen so we must have faith.

Please say a small prayer for me. My hip damaged from a car accident in 2018 is screaming at me tonight. Two Aleve and daily magnesium are not touching the pain today. Shift work tonight and the movement has been so cathartic in many satisfying ways. I just wish this hip pain would GO AWAY so I can enjoy some freedom of movement. Now is no time for a hip replacement for me. There are too many “others needs” to fulfill. God can choose to take this pain away… if He wants to. Help me to stay steady. I have three more really high impact years of needs for my daughter and I’m trying not to look at the whole mountain… just the next two steps in front of me… base camp to base camp.
I will say a large prayer for you. 🙂 Lord, please take away Joan’s hip pain by Your mighty power, give her relief not only in her physical body but also give her stillness in her spirit. Thank you so much, Joe. I believe your prayer carried me through an especially tough shift. I came home and one of my toes from the hard floors had to be lanced to release fluid build up. My hip survived it, but moving was very difficult and labored. But we are all alive and carrying our own crosses for reasons that God only knows. Thank you for helping me. I needed it.
Will be thinking carefully now about my intentions with this second job, as I’ve almost completed the financial hurdles to take care of Savannah’s homeschooling expenses. I make the final payment in November. Praise the Lord for His provision!
With recent events and impending civil unrest… I’m not certain I want to leave her alone for extended time or over tax myself. The two summer classes were hard… six starting in the Fall is going to possibly cause her to lose her job, so she can concentrate exclusively and fully on the content. They are rigorous, but oh so good!!!! She’s doing well… and I’m glad to have made the decisions we have.
I prayed for you today JWoo. Hip pain can really slow a person down as I also know firsthand. I hope you are having some relief. I know you take supplements from what you’ve written. I found native path total turmeric soft gels really work for me without stomach upset. I only take one at a time…I do have some burping but not bad. You have so much on your plate! I admire what a fierce momma bear you are. God bless you.

I hear turmeric is good and I take a turmeric ginger tea on occasion that I like very much. The number of supplements I take is pretty high (for me – about 30 pills a day) and with this split schedule.. I have to be careful for stomach upset as I’m trying not to eat food late in the evening. We are eating dinner around 330 pm before Savannah leaves for work at 4 pm. We just don’t want to eat dinner at 830 or 9 pm at night. I’ll ask the doctor about turmeric and what dosage when I see her again this September. I am obeying her directives with the heart, hashimotos, thyroid, inflammation, and brain olfactory nerve damage. So many “things” to coordinate!!!
Drinking tons of water. Big difference in body structure and stronger muscularly, but my hip as you mention will really affect alignment. Feel it in my hip, knee, and now into two specific toes. Our body really “speaks” to us… sometimes it’s cursing 🤬.
I sometimes feel selfish asking for prayers. There are so many with greater needs than mine, but God doesn’t limit us in the asking. He is so awesome that way. Nothing is too small or trivial.
We need each other and the strength of our community. I can’t do this alone.

Thank you for your prayers for my husband. I had asked for prayers on the Open Thread.
He spent 9 days in the hospital, 7 of them in cardiac surgical ICU on ventilator, drain into his heart sac and so much more. He is home now and taking it easy. Next scan will be late this month to determine healing. Please pray for continued healing and for good doctors to continue efforts to keep from going into his chest. I give thanks to the RNs old/young, they are amazing and compassionate people! I thank The LORD for allowing me to experience the talent of a group of young people (Millennials and GenZers). They deserve a safe country to live in. I want to do all I can for them.

I’ve been diagnosed with esophageal cancer, probably stage 4, which can be managed to some extent for a while but not curable. This is my fourth cancer since 2007. I’m in one of the best medical facilities in the country since 7/7 and continue to undergo tests. I’m kicking myself for not attending to my symptoms before they got so dire, but it’s water under the bridge now. I need as many prayers as you can muster. Thank you, Treepers.

Back in the day, we had a fabulous plastic surgeon/dentist/general surgeon as director of a unit that I worked in…he has long passed away…but he did some great things at Loyola….Dr. Raymond Warpeha…and worked with patients who had a similar diagnosis…have your doctors research anything that might be helpful…in the head and neck region…

Praise God, she was released from the hospital on Saturday with a bunch of meds to stay on for a while till her BP levels are stable. Baby is still in the NICU until he can meet some milestones to be released. We are so thankful for everyone’s prayers and I feel so blessed to be able to come here and find support and care. So after three plus weeks in the NICU, my grandson is finally coming home today!

Please Pray for my 51 yr old son, who has serious mental issues since his car accident in February 2008.
He lost his business, his home, his love, and his vehicles.
He has been in a out of jail, and mental hospitals since 2011.
He consistently makes progress and then lapses from all the promises made prior to release from hospitals. He never applies for any kind of employment and/or disability, even though those are realistic options for him.
We have always provided shelter, food, clothing, his Labrador Retriever and even paid his health insurance and medical bills.
His personality has now changed 180 degrees from the young engineer who was happy, smart and enjoyed life.
He is now becoming violent and I had to have him removed from our home on Monday. He hit me twice while screaming at me about utter nonsense.
This time, he cannot come back.
All funds are now cut off.
Praying constantly here.

I truly appreciate all the prayers and believe God is a guiding force in our lives.
To answer your question: Yes, he did have damage to the front lobe, however, at his age, the doctor released him and told him to contact his physician should any problems arise.
We, of course were not directly involved because he has lived on his own, at that time, since he was 18 yrs. old, when he entered college and went on to his career as a professional engineer with expertise in civil engineering.
We only became directly involved through the mental health system when they reached out to us to give him assistance while he was being treated and getting back in the saddle again.
However, he continually fell off that saddle, time and again.
Now, it’s become much more than “family support”.
I continue to pray daily.
Honestly, the peace and quiet and ability to walk around our 2 family home freely and uninhibited is truly a blessing I have not felt in almost 14 years.
Our son is in God’s hands now and his will be done.
I’m adding you and your son to my prayers. My brother’s right front brain lobe was damaged in a motorcycle accident, and he experienced behavioral changes. May God bless and protect you.

I am glad you are finding some solace and peace right now. You mentioned there was a marked change post accident. Traumatic brain injuries can seriously alter a person’s disposition. Even the person trying to understand and process newfound pain and exasperations in treatment, or lack thereof. I pray your son can find some medical assistance that might consider the impact such an injury could have caused. I pray him healed and restored to productive and supportive person. Update to my stomach (gastric) cancer issue:
Chemo and removal of my stomach was never an option for me.
I have passed the diagnosis of 12/21/23 when I was given 2-6 months to live. Now starting the 7th month. It’s always been surreal. Mass at the cardia still growing, I’m told. I’m on Gilchrist Home Hospice for now. Weight still dropping. My top weight ever was a year ago in June…163. I’m now at 112.6.. a third of body weight long gone, and I’m feeling good today.
Keep those prayers coming my way…

I pray that God will heal his heart miraculously, so he won’t have to go through the surgery.

One thing that happened.
There are 2 top doctors that do this surgery at this hospital. One is leaving in August.
Yesterday there were no qualified resident to assist, so the one leaving assisted in my grandson’s surgery! So, it seemed God arranged to have both doctors do his surgery!
He is in a room with a lot of equipment and one nurse scurrying around working on him. There’s wires and tubes coming from his little body and a big scar where his sternum will have to grow back together.
So, he has several weeks of recovery,
and prayers 🙏🏻 for a speedy recovery would be greatly appreciated. 🕊

We are blessed to have witness to God using “anxious persons” in the Bible, reassuring them, equipping them… to do great things in the service of God.
Moses comes to mind. 40 years of opulence. 40 years of being a cast out. Then 40 years of leadership. So many trips and hazards along the way, and then when called to lead… his reticence due to speech impairment and anxiety. Thus, God offered Aaron as his aide.
Think, too, that at one point… these Hebrew slaves who God liberated grieved Him so much that He told Moses He would wipe them out and start a new lineage through Moses.
What did Moses do?
Moses reminded God of His Promise and that the Hebrews were God’s people and how would it look to Pharoah if God destroyed the very people He had just saved?
Moses debating God? Looks like someone grew into his confidence or was so well equipped by our Lord and Savior that he developed such favor and candor. Moses was even allowed to see God’s Face.
I’m not sure we will see God’s Face this side of Heaven, Aggiegirl, but I do know He Created us for His Purpose and because He found a need for us. I wish I could understand it. Wish I knew what my Divine Purpose was. Wish it looked a little different than my surroundings now… but I’ve been trying to be “content and accepting” until He reveals more to me… and above all… trying to remain “willing”.
I get exasperated at trying to do good in a world hellbent on being bad. It’s hard to see evil… everywhere. It makes our job in seeing God in everything and everyone more important. For if evildoers are not with God, then they are God’s instruments to bring about His Ultimate Will. It takes much of the fear away when we reduce evildoers to the clay they are.
God allows the trappings of the devil… for only so long.
Come Lord Jesus, come! In Jesus’s Holy and Saving Name, we pray in unity,

I do love the idea of “Moses reminding God…”…Confidence for dialogue! The whole world seems to have gone over to the dark side…(Olympics for example)…it does seem harder and harder to ‘do good’, that’s for sure….
Not sure if is just me…but in every day life, things seem to be ‘different’ and I find it unsettling…people are more aggressive on the roads, less attentive…employers a bit more hostile…people disengaged…

I see it, too. The aggressiveness, the short fuses. I sense it in myself and I’ve seen open hostility against us as Christians.
We’ve all been hyperstressed in body, mind and faith. People are afraid to let others close to them.
We have no choices but to keep moving forward. We are not guaranteed another minute on this earth, so we must choose how we are going to live this one.
I’m trying to let go of my anger and my definition of fairness.

Please pray for my older sheltie…he is 8, which is young for this breed…but he seems to have some undiagnosed or unspecified physical injuries…getting X-Rays on Thursday. He was under treatment from a chiropractor…sounds frivolous but not really…lazer treatments and adjusting the spine have made a difference…he likes the lazer treatment…sits on the table leans his head back and has a look on his face as if to say “ahhhh…that’s it, it feels good…”…
Prayers for healing…and the best outcome for him. For pain relief.

So very sorry to hear about your pup. Pinched nerve, maybe? Poor boy! Hope they can determine the cause and give him some relief. Have they tried steroids on him? When I had some mean neurological “stuff” going on – Prednisolone in what I thought was a high dosage (50 mg) over about a ten-day period of time did the trick. I guess it kind of shocks the system like a computer reboot and restored my mobility.
I think our Maine Coon is starting to show signs of dysplasia in his hip. Heartbreaking. Been trying to give them those Glucosamine Chondroitin supplements through a “treat”, but they’re on to me. It’s like trying to hide a pill in cheese – they eat the cheese and spit out the pill. LOL

While the chiro is a Vet, she is deferring other meds to the ‘primary’….after a walk yesterday, he was huffing and puffing…and his shoulders were warm (its gotta be bad if I can tell, as I am not that much aware of changes). He has been on a med similar to Motrin but the canine variety….(PSA—don’t ever give dogs or cats human meds like Tylenol or Motrin without consulting the vet…those are toxic to the animal liver)…
AS far as your kitty, I hope he feels better soon…have your tried ‘starving’ him a bit so he is more hungry and then giving it to him? Or tried crushing it and mixing it with some human tuna or salmon? Give him that first….or crush it and give minute amounts in the food and increase the amount after you know he hasn’t noticed, increase a little every few days?…… It must be hard to ‘outsmart’ a cat!

As for starving the Maine Coon… good luck with that! Between the Littles and the old geriatric kitty… Harry is bit overweight with goodies. He is playing more with the youngins, so hoping he will slim down a little.
We give a mix of wet food and dry… and the Littles have a higher fat content since they’re babies. So they eat each other’s foods with the babies going for the big cats bowls and Harry helps himself to their morsels. They play and conspire off each other. We are definitely outsmarted!
Sorry to hear your baby’s shoulders were hot after a walk. Never knew that was a thing or a sign of something wrong. Poor kid. Hope they can figure it out so he will have free movement again. 🙏
Good news from the vet…X Rays all normal, he did the whole spine, neck and hips, to be sure. He thinks/pretty certain its a soft tissue injury so we are on 10 more days of ‘rest’…and carprofen twice a day…I know little about kitties so I am stumped.
According to my vet, for the ‘canine’ people…he said the soft tissue injury takes longer to heal and is easier to re injure.
I had a friend who lost a sheltie to osteo sarcome…he was only six. That was my fear…more later…

How you process the fight is everything heroic, my friend… but if you don’t want to be called a “hero” – I won’t speak it aloud.
What I will say… is your faith and devotion to our Lord… your testifying to your friends surviving through cancer…it is a beautiful thing to uplift, encourage, and help sustain. Eve, illness can be so lonely if one has no one cheering for them, or making them smile through pain, or simply co-existing together through the next hurdle. You do all of that.
Blessings on you and yours, friend. My prayers continue.
