Thank You–back in August I asked for your prayers and support as my daughter and SIL after much effort with IVF had the good grace to find, not only one but two surrogates. So we had implants of male and female embryos. The female embryo did not work but I’m happy to say we will be welcoming a new grandson in April, the 17th I’m told. So far–all is well. In the ultrasound he looks as handsome as me :)). Additionally, we are going to try again with the female. God has let these wonderful women into our lives. No words can express our gratitude. We are truly blessed. On to 2024…may we all live in His grace.
My wife has dementia and is so very miserable, thinking that our children have been taken away from her. I feel so bad for her and I feel helpless to do anything. Thank you for your prayers.
I cannot imagine what you are going thru, but, I pray for God’s merciful hand to be laid upon you and your wife. He is our refuge and strength in times of trouble. we are knelt in prayer with you, dear friend.
@Dave W, my thought and prayers go out to you and your Wife!
Praying for the Lord Jesus to give your wife His peace & clarity of mind. The Lord bless you, Dave.
Dementia is so very hard Dave. You and your wife have been in my prayers. May God grant both of you His peace.
I’m praying for all the intentions posted here, for all the posters and their loved ones, and for our nation. Thank you to all of you for being here and especially for your prayers.
My mother passed away this month. I discovered at her death that she and my sister had conspired to deceive me and hide important information from me. My grief is thus complicated by feelings of betrayal. I want to honor God with humility and forgiveness, rather than stew in anger or self-pity. I’m trying to trust that with time most of this will get easier. Please pray for me to allow the Lord to use me and my every situation for His glory and His perfect will.
Also I would appreciate prayers for my physical health. My autoimmune disease and other health conditions haven’t improved with any medication, diet, or supplement I’ve tried.
God bless you all.
it may take a while, or it may be instant, but God will lead you out of the anger into peace. the devil wants us to churn in darkness, but in the holy name of Jesus, we cannot let this be. I find it most helpful to see that when ppl do unkind things, they are basically lost and hurting themselves in the end. they really cannot hurt me because God tenderly watches over me and keeps me. may God dry your tears and the sun shine and warm you, dear friend.
Thanks, linwik. Wishing you the best in 2024.
Prayers going up. Betrayal is a bitter pill. Pray on it.
check out Jordan Peterson’s latest podcast as he visits with a functional doctor using stem cells…but not from babies or fetuses! It’s long but interesting and I’m not sure what to think as this is so new. Trials show great promise for autoimmune diseases. Gives a person hope maybe someday soon people can be healed and not just treated with drugs.
Thanks. I’ll look into it, NanaB. Blessings to you.
Blessings to you as well. We too have had family betray us. Boy howdy I ranted to God non stop for months! Finally gave it to Him and asked to be released. He did release me…once in awhile I go there in my mind and then just stay stop and it stops. Satan loves this crap so stay strong. This upset doesn’t help your physical issues either. Do find the podcast…not sure where and how or even if this should be implemented but it does give a person hope that better medicine is ahead. Blessings and peace.
Yes, I have to remind myself over and over to surrender to God in all this. I believe He has allowed pain in my life specifically for this reason, that I might learn to live for Him. Perhaps this is true for most of us. It’s a difficult but also beautiful lesson. “…the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job 1:21b
Praying that God comforts you & alleviates the conflicted feelings of pain you’re experiencing, as well as puts a touch of His healing upon you. God bless you.
God bless you too, Joe. Thank you. I appreciate the kind support. It does make a difference.
AmericanTown,
Having had a similar experience with biological family – I remember that my father on his death bed was easily manipulated. Upon his death, his evil brother and SIL looted his house while my father’s body grew cold in the hospital. My childhood neighbor of 35 years called me in Seattle, screaming and weeping. I, in turn, called the police in Indiana and they said “get an attorney – it’s a civil matter”. I had to return to Seattle the day before my father passed. He survived an aerotic aneurysm but died from pneumonia a week later.
What can one do in the face of such travesty?
Too, we have been violated by a raging narcissist. In our former relations, we should have been able to trust him and know not whether his raging narcissim was always latently within him, or it is fed and bolstered by a jealous and greed-driven awful new wife? He totally changed and hurt his daughter and me very deeply. We were always amicable before. We will never know, but he subsequently lost his daughter, as she will never again trust him with her heart and mind and hasn’t spoken to him in years.
People choose their priorities and who they will worship… and we all worship something. Incidently, Pfizer just took over his company and the CEO of his company is under criminal investigation for domestic violence with rumors of illicit sexcapades, drug abuse, and mental and physical assault. A billionaire devil sold out to another devil – so are the ways of those who are led by such men. Fitting that our devil is now employed by the devil. Yet still, we pray for him.
These are bitter lessons to learn about guarding our heart against evil ones – but I encourage you to remember that we have nothing to fear from those who can hurt our bodies and minds but can never steal our souls.
The evildoers are finite beings, and we can ask ourselves if we would ever want to live in their shoes and with the guilt they must carry and attest for in God’s Presence? Absolutely not! We are not them and PRAISE GOD FOR THAT.
Equally – material losses come in all shapes and sizes – and though we may have to let go of precious comfort and stability – these things can be taken away by hurricane, tornado, fire, natural disasters human-created, or otherwise. What do we truly own in this life? Not a whole lot, I can tell you.
I pray for your peace of mind, peace and quiet, and joy in knowing that these people only have the power over you that you give them. Don’t give them any. Pity them and pray for them – for The Lord to indwell them and show them the error of their ways. Protect yourself, too, though – for as we are called to pray for our enemies – we can also keep distance and boundaries to protect and guard our hearts and minds.
As much as I would love to have a biological family – it is not at the cost of my Christian walk or the protection and safety of my daughter. My past doesn’t have to be her future – and so we so choose to live.
Besides – you can adopt family. God sets the widows and orphans in family. Psalm 68:6
Our best to you this New Year. Blessings and hugs, friend.
Incidentally, the Lord allowed my father to come to me in a dream two years after his passing and he was in his Heavenly Home. And he was good. He was more than fine! He was whole and it was a beautiful moment that I will cherish forever. I love my father very much and have long since forgiven him.
Please add to your prayers Claire. 15 year old was out with friends..speed but no alcohol…she wasn’t buckled in and was ejected when the driver lost control. 2 brain bleeds. She’s in a medically induced coma now. Doesn’t look good but we will see what God decides.
Praying for Claire, NanaB. I pray she a testimony of our Lord’s mercy.
New tonight is not good. Unless a miracle occurs. So sad for Claire and her family. Her mother is a good friend of my sister and was with my sister when Alex passed. They’ve known each other for years so my sister is once again grieving.
Thank you all for prayers for this young girl and her family.
I’m so sorry for your poor sister again, Nana. God hold her up & keep her close. What a horribly sad situation.
One day at a time…
10 days into my diagnosis
2nd opinion was the same as the first.
I have decided not to do physician assisted suicide. I want to be right with GOD, when I meet him.
Also I want to be spending quality time with close friends and dear to my heart relatives.

Continued prayers for you in Jesus’ all-sufficient name, Michael.
Michael,
Blessings to you for creating special memories with your loved ones during this time. It is truly GOD’S Timing that reigns here and I praise Him for giving you the chance to create future memories with your loved ones. Maybe you might record some for posterity?
Remember, some folks don’t get the chance to say “See you later” – not goodbye – because you are promised Eternity through faith in salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Live and love large, friend!

Day +53
The last several weeks have been a rollercoaster. There were two separate occasions where Jackson’s health had declined to the point of doctors discussing putting him on ECMO life support. He was on the highest level of ventilation and oxygen support, his kidneys were on the edge of failing and needing dialysis, his heart was severely enlarged and not pumping blood properly, his liver was enlarged and he was needing constant blood/platelet transfusions.
Yesterday marks 3 weeks in the PICU. Jackson was extubated on Wednesday and has made steady progress forward since. We have been able to wean his respiratory support, his kidney function was restored without needing dialysis, we were able to discontinue his VOD treatment and slowly chip away at his sedatives and narcotics.
Right now our biggest challenge is his pulmonary hypertension. He will need to have a cardiac cath procedure tomorrow, which should give us answers about the best treatment plan for him moving forward.
We call him “Jackson Strong” for a reason. By God’s grace, his health is being restored day by day. He is a warrior and is truly our hero.
