My thought was that it was much more accurately describing western propaganda, particular that of the WEF driven governments – including the current one in DC.
Propaganda is deceit that wires into both man’s inherent good and, his moral and intellectual weaknesses. Along with fear and terror, it is indeed as old as mankind.
I would say the author is a London university propagandist. Written before the Ukraine war, his analysis focuses primarily on propaganda techniques used by the Russian state but little examples of these propaganda techniques used by the DeepState and BigTech monopolies in America and the entire West, including UK. I suppose he could have used Obama’s Twitter revolution as a case study (cirica 2009), which was deeply integrated with Hollywood and television news. It led to a coup and to the brutal demise of many Iranians – cheered on by millions of American tweeters.
Not long after this was published, these techniques were used by the West on a massive scale to terrorize and polarize entire nations in the roll out of the plandemic and funding for the war in Ukraine. How, after all, was the DeepState able to build so quickly what Sundance coined the Velvet Curtin – which Americans are unable to see?

I am not ready to dismiss the author himself as “a propagandist.” To me, that’s unfair.
Remember – the author was writing five years ago, and he could not have included everything, even at that time. I think that his insights and perspectives were – while extremely disturbing – utterly on-point.
“Propaganda,” of course, will always be with us. Always has been, always will. But, the methods evolve. And that is, to me, “his key message.” Even as “the Internet” ushered in brand-new ways of interacting, propaganda adapted.
I maintain that he has a great many very-important things to discuss which are well worth study.
Well that’s just my take. I am not at all dismissing what he wrote, just orienting it. Western propaganda against its citizens was already well entrenched 5 years ago. Plenty of examples of State propaganda and social media in the West, like Obama’s Twitter Revolution, that he could have referenced as well. He has published a few more recent papers along those lines – on the use of digital technologies to enable “participatory warfare” including its use in Ukraine.
He’s also a Google Scholar. It is Kings College after all. Not much light shines between this guy’s work and the globalists agenda.

A 68-year-old woman visiting from New Zealand was walking with her husband just outside a Newport Beach mall when she was robbed and killed by three men, police said.
