Russia “broke” the security network of NATO satellites and scanned the satellite networks of France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Ukraine and other countries, causing the immediate reaction of the West.
The United Nations telecommunications agency has condemned Russian interference in the satellite systems of several European countries.
Russia is “playing” with Western satellites – Hysteria in NATO and the UNEarlier this month, the UN’s International Telecommunication Union (ITU) received a series of complaints from Ukraine, France, Sweden, the Netherlands and Luxembourg about Kremlin satellite jamming that has affected GPS signals and TV channels.
The ITU looked into those complaints and published a document on Monday calling the practice “extremely worrying and unacceptable” .
According to the ITU, Russia’s satellite jamming had repeatedly affected certain channels carrying mostly Ukrainian television and radio programming. Earlier reports said Russia was targeting children’s TV channels for showing violent images of the war in Ukraine.
Ukraine’s complaint to the ITU listed at least 11 cases of interference over the past three months that affected dozens of Ukrainian television programs, Reuters reported.
The agency also said Russia’s interference with French and Swedish satellite networks came from stations located near Moscow, Pavlovka and Kaliningrad, the Russian enclave between Poland and Lithuania.
Last month, Swedish authorities accused Russia of “harmful interference” targeting the Nordic country’s satellite networks , which it observed two weeks after joining NATO, a move Russia saw as a threat to its national security.
Swedish authorities said the interference from Russia and Crimea had targeted three different Sirius satellite networks.
France, in turn, complained about the outage to satellite provider Eutelsat, according to the ITU.
Bloomberg recently reported that at least three of Eutelsat’s satellites were “severely affected” by Russian interference, leading to disruption of transmissions. On two occasions, Russia reportedly replaced the programming of Disney shows with war videos in Russian.
In April, government officials from Lithuania and Estonia raised the alarm about Russian interference with navigation signals after two flights from Helsinki to the Estonian city of Tartu experienced GPS jamming, forcing the planes to turn back midway.
Earlier this year, the GPS on a plane carrying UK Defense Secretary Grant Shapps was jammed by Russia as it flew over Kaliningrad.
The ITU said it had contacted Russia about the results of its investigation, but had received no response. In an earlier response to France over the disruption of its satellite, the Kremlin said it had not detected emissions that could cause harmful interference to French satellite networks.
The ITU asked Russia to “cease any intentional action to cause harmful interference” and to further investigate whether ground stations are currently being deployed at or near the locations identified by the geolocation results provided by the agency.

TOPEKA, KS (July 2, 2024): In a landmark ruling, a federal court in Kansas issued an opinion halting the Biden Department of Education’s Title IX changes in a lawsuit brought by Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF) and Mountain States Legal Foundation (MSLF) on behalf of their clients Moms for Liberty and Young America’s Foundation. The organizations joined the states of Kansas, Wyoming, Utah, and Alaska, as well as other students and interest groups, in challenging the Department of Education’s blatant disregard for the First Amendment rights of K-12 and college students.
The members of Moms for Liberty and Young America’s Foundation are parents and students in K-12 schools and colleges who fear sharing their true views—including the view that gender is not fluid, that there are only two genders based on biological sex, and that private spaces on campuses should be kept sex-segregated—in light of the Biden Administration’s unconstitutional changes to the definition of “sex” under Title IX. Under the Department of Education’s new rule, “sex” no longer means male or female but includes gender identity and sex stereotypes, so anyone who speaks out against gender identity, fails to recognize a classmate’s “preferred pronouns,” or speaks up for their physical safety and right not to have to undress in front of the opposite biological sex can be punished for harassment.
As the parties explained in the briefing before the court, this will have devastating consequences for free speech. No, not the hot mess late last week — the one going on now.
Let’s dispel a few myths:
Biden can’t be changed because {ballot rules | printing | state laws | etc.} Bull****. Neither Trump or Biden is the actual nominee at this point; that doesn’t happen until the convention when the formal nomination takes place. They are both presumptive nominees, but not an actual nominee at this point.
The Presidential election is different therefore….. You bet it is. And one of the primary differences is that the primaries are formally called “Presidential preference elections.” That’s right — you’re expressing a preference, and that is all. You have no right to actually select the candidate; that is controlled by party rules and you have no legal recourse if the candidate that comes out of the convention(s) isn’t the one you voted for.
Further, the Presidential ballot isn’t for President, it is for electors. You are voting for an electoral slate, not a President. The electors may be “pledged” to a candidate and State Laws, if they exist, were ruled Constitutional in 2020 by the Supreme Court. Article II makes clear that each State must appoint electors as they so choose and the 12th Amendment mandates the means of their voting and transmission of their slates to Congress for counting. The Constitution is silent on any sort of permission or prohibition beyond those two points and as such yes, the States can (and do) have different laws in that regard.

The Chevron v NRDC case started because the EPA changed the law’s definition of “source of air pollution” to favor Chevron and other heavily-polluting companies.
So the NRDC filed a federal appeal, claiming that the EPA was illegally re-writing the law. The DC Circuit Court ruled in the NRDC’s favor.
Then SCOTUS ruled that the EPA were the “experts”, and therefore the courts (and the nation) had to simply defer to however they interpreted the law.
But wait, why would the EPA favor the very companies they’re supposed to “protect” us from?
Because if a regulatory agency has total control of an industry, the biggest players in that industry have a vested interest in taking over those agencies.
They fill them with their cronies, first to protect themselves from being regulated out of existence. But once they’re in the pilot’s seat, they can do whatever they want.
They can regulate their smaller competitors out of existence.
They can mandate the use of their products.
They can look the other way when they violate their own regulations, or just redefine the regulation at will (like they did with Chevron).
They can do whatever they want.
And up until last Friday, the courts were powerless to stop them.
So when you hear someone screeching that the end of Chevron Deference means a return to the dark days of pre-1984 America, when corporations could put radioactive shrapnel in our milk, remind them that the exact opposite is true.

Again, a jury’s finding of guilt isn’t a conviction.
A defendant doesn’t become a felon until the judge convicts him.
